[laughter]

[upbeat music]

- Whoo-hoo!

♪ ♪

We all know

that the cars on Sodor

can be troublesome.

But when I was in India,

I had something really

troublesome in one of my cars.

[whistle toots]

All aboard for a big adventure!

[Thomas narrating]

It was a hot day

on the Indian Railway.

And everybody wanted to drink

refreshing coconut water.

Even Charubala,

the railway controller.

- One, please.

- Sorry.

That was the last one.

[whistle toots]

- Ah, Thomas.

Can you please collect

some more coconuts?

It's very important,

so please hurry.

- Don't worry, Charubala,

Ma'am, I won't let anything

slow me down.

[whistle toots]

Bye!

On my way

to the shunting yard,

I saw a very unusual sign.

Hmm. That looks interesting.

Maybe I should check it out.

But Charubala wants

more coconuts.

So Charubala shall have

more coconuts.

[whistle toots]

♪ ♪

[whistle toots]

Ah, hello, Rajiv.

Can I ask you a question

about the Indian Raiway?

- Of course you can!

Nobody knows it better than I.

- That's great. Uh...

Because I passed a funny sign

on the way here.

It had a monkey and a--

- [gasps]

You mean the Monkey Palace?

Do not go near it.

Do you understand?

- Why?

- It is riddled

with troublesome monkeys.

When I went, they tried to

steal my crown, Thomas.

My crown!

Imagine me, Rajiv,

without a crown.

I'd be, like,

well,

just another ordinary engine

like you, I suppose.

But I mean that in a nice way.

[whistle toots]

- Huh.

[train cars clunk]

[whistle toots]

Oh, you'd think that Rajiv

lived in a palace

the way he talked.

I could be just as regal

as he can.

[mystical music]

[gasps]

Charubala, Ma'am.

- I am your fairy railway

controller, Thomas.

And you won't be an ordinary

looking engine anymore.

♪ ♪

Now you're fit for the palace.

King Thomas.

[whistle toots]

- Behold the new king

of the Monkey Palace!

[royal fanfare]

[chuckles]

[gasps]

Oh, I know Rajiv

said I shouldn't,

but I really wanna see

the Monkey Palace.

And if I hurry,

I won't even be late

with the coconuts.

Monkey Palace, here I come!

[upbeat music]

[monkey chatters]

- Oh! [laughs]

Hello, little monkey.

Oh, hello,

and hello to you too.

And hello!

[laughs]

[monkeys chattering]

[gasps]

Wow!

The Monkey Palace.

I'm so glad I came to see this.

It's beautiful.

[chuckles]

And you fellas are so funny.

[laughs]

[monkeys chattering]

Ooh. [laughs]

Okay. You can get down now.

Hello?

[gasps]

Maybe they really do want me

to be their king.

But I need to get these

coconuts back to Charubala.

[whistle toots]

[monkeys screeching]

Oh, dear.

I didn't mean to frighten you.

But I need to go.

I'm sorry.

But I can't be your king today.

[monkeys screeching]

[curious music]

♪ ♪

[laughs] I don't know what

Rajiv was so worried about.

[coconuts clatter]

Those were some of the nicest

monkeys I've ever met.

[coconuts clunking]

What's going on?

Is it raining coconuts?

[monkey chatters]

Huh, whoa!

[coconuts clatter]

Are you okay?

I'm sorry.

But what did you do that for?

[monkey screeches]

You almost caused an accident.

[monkey chatters]

Sorry I can't play with you

now.

[whistle toots]

I have coconuts to deliver.

[train engine chugging]

[soft music]

♪ ♪

- [sighs]

♪ ♪

[whistle toots]

- Ah, Thomas!

What kept you?

Everyone is waiting.

Sorry, Charubala, Ma'am.

It's just that--

- [gasps]

Where are all the coconuts?

- Huh?

What do you mean?

I did have the coconuts.

[gasps]

They must have spilled when

that pesky monkey

made me crash.

- Stop this monkeying around,

and get some more coconuts.

[whistle toots]

[upbeat music]

[monkey chatters]

- Phew.

There they are.

[horn blows]

[coconuts cracking]

- Cinders and ashes!

[sighs] Now what am I gonna do?

[monkey screeches]

Just leave me alone.

Why don't you go back home

to your monkey palace?

[monkey chatters]

Ohh.

Do you need help getting home?

[monkey chatters]

Oh, is that what you were

trying to tell me before?

[monkey screeches]

Well, don't worry.

I'll take you home!

[whistle toots]

Hold on tight.

[jaunty music]

♪ ♪

[monkeys chattering]

♪ ♪

Right.

Well, I better dash

if I'm gonna get more coconuts

back to Charubala on time.

[monkeys screeching]

What are you trying

to tell me now?

Ohh, coconut trees!

♪ ♪

[coconuts clatter]

♪ ♪

Wa-hoo!

Thanks, friends!

[monkeys chattering]

[whistle toots]

So with the help

of my monkey friends,

I finally managed to deliver

the coconuts,

and everybody was happy again.

- Hm, delicious.

[slurps]

[bell ringing]

[whistle toots]

Have you ever found it hard

to understand

what someone is trying

to tell you?

I know I have.

But sometimes,

it's just about paying more

attention.

One time, when Samson was

going to the Quarry,

he coupled up the coaches

instead of cars.

The other engines tried to

tell him he made a mistake,

but Samson ignored them

and took passenger coaches

to pick up some rocks.

If I'd paid more attention

to what the monkey was trying

to tell me in the first place,

I might have realized

that he wanted to go home.

And I might have seen

the spilled coconuts

in time to save them

from being squashed.

It's important to pay attention

when someone is trying

to tell you something.

And it's good to ask questions

if you don't understand.

[whistle chirps]

But right now I need

to pay attention

to the station

master.

- Come on, Thomas!

- It's time to go.

- See you next time!

[whistle toots]

[upbeat music]

[whistle toots]

[man singing]

- Come on!

- Yeah!

- Let's go!

- Yeah!

[upbeat music]
