[laughter]

[upbeat rock music]

♪ ♪

- Whoo-hoo!

♪ ♪

Everyone enjoys playing games,

even the engines on Sodor.

But sometimes games

can get out of hand.

[whistle toots]

All aboard for a big adventure!

♪ ♪

[cheery music]

- Oh, where is it?

♪ ♪

Where is it?

♪ ♪

[Thomas narrating]

- It has to be here somewhere.

Ugh!

- [whistle toots]

Hello, Nia.

Is something wrong?

- Oh, hi, Edward.

I'm looking for a covered car.

I left it here

when I went to get refueled,

and when I came back,

it was gone.

[laughter]

- Oh, all right, Bill and Ben,

where have you hidden

Nia's car?

- Don't ask me. [laughs]

- She'll just have to find it.

[laughter]

- But I need that car now.

It's important.

I don't want my train to be

late.

[laughter]

- Okay, then,

shall I take away the cars

I've brought for you two?

What would they say

at the clay pits

if you came back with no cars?

- Oh, fine.

I'll get it.

[whistle toots]

Spoilsport.

- I'm sorry about this, Nia.

It's their new game.

They call it "Hunt the Car."

- Nobody can hunt cars

better than us.

[metal clangs.

- Thanks, Edward!

[whistle toots]

- The trouble with you,

Edward...

- Is that you don't like games.

- No fun at all.

[whistle toots]

You're just...

both: Boring!

[laughter]

narrator: The next day...

Bill and Ben were down

at the docks.

[whistles tooting]

- Hey, Ben, look at this!

- Wow!

I wonder where

that car is going.

- That car?

That one's for Edward

to collect.

♪ ♪

both: Edward!

♪ ♪

[laughter]

This'll teach Edward

for spoiling our fun.

- [laughs] After all,

nobody can hide cars

better than we can.

[laughter]

[whistle toots]

♪ ♪

[whistle toots]

♪ ♪

[whistles tooting]

- Oh, dear!

Where is my car?

- [whistle toots]

- The Earl will be

disappointed

when he hears the sad news.

- Huh?

But it was there

on that siding.

[stifled laughter]

- I saw it, Edward.

What was in it?

- It was filled with all

the festive decorations

for the Earl's annual

Christmas party

at Ulfstead Castle.

Along with presents

for the children

and food for the

Christmas dinner.

But now it's gone!

- No.

- Yes.

With no decorations,

no presents, and no food,

the Earl's Christmas party

will be ruined.

[both gasp]

[clearing their throats]

- Oh, sorry, we, uh--

- Got to see a car--

I mean a coach about a train!

- What's gotten into them?

♪ ♪

- [gasps] Where is it?

[panicked gasp]

- It's gone!

- I can see that, Ben.

And if we don't find it,

Christmas will be ruined!

Oh!

- Oh!

[cheery music]

- No decorations!

♪ ♪

- Ooh.

No presents for the children.

♪ ♪

both: And no food

for Christmas dinner!

♪ ♪

both: The Earl's party

will be ruined!

♪ ♪

- What have we done?

- We?

What do you mean, "we"?

It was your idea to play

Hunt the Car.

- No, it wasn't!

- Was too!

- Was not!

- Was too!

[whistle blows]

[both gasp]

Salty! Salty!

Have you see a car

with bells on?

- Arr! I've seen

many cars today, matey.

From port to starboard

there be cars

taking up the sidings by the,

well, carload!

[laughs]

[clears throat]

Well, if it's not here,

perhaps another engine's

taken it.

Could be anywhere

on the island by now.

[both gasp]

[whistles tooting]

♪ ♪

narrator: The twins looked

all over the island,

hunting through stations...

- [murmuring]

♪ ♪

narrator:

Through shunting yards...

- [whistle toots]

♪ ♪

Oh!

♪ ♪

- Ooh.

♪ ♪

- [grunts]

♪ ♪

- [grunts]

narrator: Even in some of

their best hiding places.

- Erm, Christmas car!

Are you in there?

[whistle blows]

- Ooh!

- Express coming through!

- Uh-oh.

♪ ♪

narrator: But they couldn't

find the car anywhere.

♪ ♪

- It's probably far away

on the mainland by now.

What are we gonna do?

- Only one thing we can do!

♪ ♪

[whistles tooting]

- Hello, you two.

What brings you here?

both: Edward!

Oh, Edward.

both: We're ever so sorry.

- We didn't mean to do it.

- Now, now,

whatever are you sorry for?

both: We were playing

Hunt the Car.

- And--and we hid your car

as a joke.

- But we decided

to give it back.

Only, we couldn't find it.

- You mean this car?

both: Yes, that's the one.

[both gasp]

That's the one!

But--but--but--but--

- [whistle tooting]

- Welcome to the Christmas

party, everyone!

[children laughing]

[cheery music]

- Now you know how it feels

to have your cars

hidden from you.

Mm?

- [gasps] How did you--

- Well, let's just say

nobody can hide cars

better than you two,

but nobody can find cars

better than thee.

[laughter]

I know all your hiding places.

both: Oh.

[laughter]

♪ ♪

[bell tolling]

- [whistle toots]

Have you ever played a game

that got out of hand?

Sometimes a game

can stop being fun

or even hurt someone's

feelings.

One time, Diesel

played a trick on Paxton

by getting all the diesels

to hide from him.

Paxton was very upset

and thought all the diesels

had left the island.

Another time, I was racing

with Max and Monty.

It was good fun.

Until they took the game

too far.

They raced

over the railway line

and could have caused an

accident.

Bill and Ben thought their

game of Hunt the Car

was very funny

until they were the ones

who couldn't find their car.

Edward was trying to teach them

that it's not a good game

unless everyone who's playing

can enjoy it.

- Come on, Thomas!

- It's time to go.

- See you next time!

[whistle toots]

[whistle blows]
