[Narrator] "Marion and the Dinosaurs"

Marion is a railway steam shovel,

and she loves to dig.

Whenever there'’s a digging job on Sir Topham Hatt'’s railway,

you'’ll find Marion there.

The only thing Marion loves more than digging

istalking about digging.

She'’s very proud of all the things she'’s dug up.

[bell ringing]

Millions of years old,that is,

and Idug it up.

I stuck in my shoveland pulled out a bone.

I thought it was scientistswho dug that up.

Oh, they finished offthe digging, Toby,

but I didall the hard work.

Scientists only haveteeny, tiny little shovels.

They can'’t dothe real digging, not like me.

I'’m a professional.

[toot toot]

[bell ringing]

[Narrator] One day, Marion was digging

to clear a site for some new sheds.

-[Thomas] Hello.-Aah!

Hello, Thomas.

I didn'’t hear yousneaking up...in front of me.

Probably should haveseen you, too.

Aha-ha-ha-ha!

You'’re funny, Marion!

[toot toot]

Let me know if you dig upanything exciting!

Like more dinosaur bones!

Oh, I will!

It might not bedinosaur bones,though.

It might be a treasure chest,

or a Roman statue,

or a...rusty metal bar.

[Narrator] Thomas was delivering plants and stones

to the Earl'’s estate at Ulfstead Castle.

[Steven]Look lively, Millie!We'’re on!

[Millie]Call the Earl! Call the Earl!

It'’s...showtime!

Oh. Hello, Thomas.

We thought you werean important shipmentfrom the mainland.

The Earl told usto look out for it.

A shipment? Of what?

I brought some plantsand some rocks for the garden.

No, that can'’tbethe important shipment.

It'’s a surprise!

We don'’t know what it is,

but it'’s something big--

something verybig!

[Narrator] Thomas wondered what it could be.

That night, Marion was asleep on the siding...

when something woke her up.

She thought she could hear an engine

passing along the line.

But when she looked, she didn'’t see an engine at all!

-[gasps]-[rumbling]

She saw....

a dinosaur!

Oh! It'’s impossible!

It'’s a--It'’s a dream.It'’s a dream.

[Marion]Eeeeeek!

No! Go away,dinosaurs!

Go away, dream!

Oh! I didn'’t think thatwould actually work.

Oooh.

[yawns]

[owl hoots]

-[toot toot]-Oh!

[Narrator] The next morning

Marion was very sleepy

as she went back to her digging.

-[Thomas] Hello, Marion!-Ohhh!

Oh! Thomas. Ooh.

You surprised me.

[laughs]Sorry, Marion.

I didn'’t mean to sneak upright in front of you again.

No, Thomas.

It'’s not your fault.

I had a bad dream last night.

I woke up and saw dinosaurs.

Real, live dinosaurs,

moving along the track,right here.

Dinosaurs? But dinosaursaren'’t around anymore!

I know! Dinosaurs liveda very, very long time ago,

millions of years,

before railways or people

or digging was even invented!

[laughs]That'’s right, Marion.

It must have beena bad dream.

[toot toot]

[Narrator] A little while later,

Marion heard another engine coming along.

This time, she looked to see who it was.

But instead, she saw...

Dinosaurs?!

Wake up, Marion.Wake up.

Wakey-wakey.Come on now, wake up.

You'’re dreaming again.

No, you'’re not dreaming.

Eeeeee!

Look out! Look out!

Steam shovel coming through!

Eeeee-eeeee!

[Steven]Curtain call!

Millie! Get some steam on!

[Millie]Call the Earl! Call the Earl!

The big deliveryis here.

That doesn'’t look likethe big delivery.

[Marion] Help! Help!

Dinosaurs are chasingafter me!

Eh? That can'’t be right.

There aren'’t any dinosaursaround anymore.

Oh, Steven!She'’s right!

They'’re coming upthe hill!

[both screaming]

Raise the drawbridge!

Oh, wow!

I'’ve never beenin a castle before.

Shhh! Listen.

[distant chuffing]

[gasps]It'’s the dinosaurs.

You can hear them breathing.

That sounds morelike a steam engine to me.

[Earl whooping]

Oh, no! It'’s the Earl!

Do you think the dinosaurshave got him?

He sounds happy to me.

[Earl]At last!

My shipment has arrived!

[Millie]Oh! [laughs]

[Steven]Well, would ya look at that!

Oh ho!They really aredinosaurs!

I never thoughtI'’d see a dinosaur up close.

[laughs]

Morning, sir!

Very good, Samson.

But we were expecting youyesterday.

[gasps] This must be...

Yes.The special delivery.

Uh, never beento Sodor before, sir.

Arrived in the dark,and...got lost.

I see.

Spent the night in a quarryas it happened, sir.

Had to wait until morningto get directions.

But here I am!

And hereare all the dinosaurs

for my dinosaur park!

-[Marion] Dinosaur park?-Ho ho!

Don'’t be frightened, Marion.

They'’re not real.

[laughs] No.

I'’m-I'’m sure I didn'’t thinkthey could be.

You don'’t usually getreal dinosaurs aroundthese days.

Exactly! That'’s whyI decided to build

a dinosaur park!

So people can come here

and see whatthese magnificentcreatures

actually looked like! Ho ho!

But in the meantime,

I'’m going to need youto keep an eye out

for any more fossils and bonesaround the island.

Oh! Yes, yes, yes!

You can count on me, sir!

-[toot toot]-In fact,

there'’s probably some morelying around the quarry.

Or the clay pits!Definitely the clay pits.

Looks like someoneis back to her old self.

[laughing] Yes!Marion certainly isn'’t scaredof dinosaurs anymore.

In fact, you could sayshe really digsthem.
