[barks]

- ♪ Bark along and put your paws up ♪

♪ Pets can't seem to get enough of ♪

♪ Calvin and his pups ♪

- [high-pitched barking]

- [woofs]

- Hi! I'm Calvin.

Welcome to Mutt & Stuff.

- [barks]

- Oh, good morning, Zippy.

I have a hilarious joke to tell you.

What do you call a very cold dog?

- [barks]

- A pup-sicle.

[rim sh*t]

Wow, that joke was so funny,

it came with its own rim sh*t.

[faint rock music]

Hm? I don't think that music

is for my joke, Zippy.

And it sounds like it's coming from over there.

- Introducing the doggy-est dog band ever,

we're the Wag . Get ready to rock.

[drumsticks tapping]

[upbeat rock music]

[record scratches]

- [barks]

♪ ♪

[Stuff laughs]

- [barking] - Whoo!

♪ ♪

Yeah!

♪ ♪

Scratch it, Pickle!

[record scratches]

♪ ♪

[Stuff laughing]

♪ ♪

Ha! Sounded good, guys.

I love rocking n' rolling with my buds.

- Wow, you guys sound great! - Oh, thanks, Calvin.

Our band, the Wag , is practicing,

'cause we're playin' a concert today.

- [barks] - That's right, Cuddles.

We even invited all of the kids from the neighborhood.

They're our biggest fans. [chuckles]

We're kind of a big deal.

[giggles] - Well, that's great, Stuff!

But...I'm not so sure all the kids are gonna fit in here.

- Huh?

- Wait a minute...

I can get permission so we can have the concert

out front on the street! - Ooh! All right.

It's gonna be a rockin' doggy block party.

- You said it, Stuff. But first things first:

time to start school! Come on, Zippy.

- Whoo-hoo.

[cheery music]

- Good morning, everyone!

Now, listen up.

Stuff has an announcement he wants to make.

- Ooh, I sure do. Thanks, Calvin.

Okay! You guys wanna rock?

[rock music]

[dogs barking]

You wanna roll?

[dogs barking]

Well, then, you're in for a treat, 'cause my band,

the Wag , is playing a concert today!

[dogs bark]

[laughing] Oh, I can't wait

for the concert, Calvin. We've got rockin' tunes

and awesome outfits. Check out my music shorts.

[silly music]

[giggles]

- Um, Stuff...

Those are the shorts you wear every day.

- Huh? Oh, yeah.

So they are. Well, maybe we can try on

some new outfits for the show.

Come on, guys. [laughing]

All right, guys, let's get groovy.

A little help, Zippy?

[playful music]

[lever clicks alarms blare]

[Stuff laughs]

[machinery whirs] Ooh!

Great! Ooh.

♪ ♪

[cogs click]

Hah! Huh...

[glamorous music]

♪ ♪

Too formal-- but very spiffy.

[machinery whirs]

[zippy rock music]

♪ ♪

Let's party like it's kibble time.

[laughs]

[machinery whirs]

[laughing] Whoa!

[psychedelic rock music]

Groovy, dudes.

♪ ♪

[machinery whirring]

Hip-hop, snippity flop.

[hip-hop music]

Hey, Zippy, should we try on some more outfits, yo?

- [barks] - [laughs]

No problem. We won't stop

until we find the right look

for the awesome Wag .

[machinery whirs]

[plucky music]

- While the Wag pick out their rock star outfits,

let's check in on the puppies.

- ♪ Puppy playtime ♪

- Sounds like the puppies are making

some music of their own.

[cheery music]

- ♪ Puppy playtime ♪

[guitar strings]

[saxophone melody]

♪ ♪

- Stuff! Where are you guys?

[xylophone slide]

- Oh, Calvin.

- Whoa! - You're just in time.

[laughs] We found our band outfits.

Check this out.

Zippy, a little help?

[level clicks, alarms blare]

- Put your paws together...

[funky music]

for the Wag !

On trumpet, here comes...

Rocket!

And next,

give it up for our DJ--

scratchin' records and squeakin' toys,

it's DJ Princess Pickles!

[laughs] And...

here comes the king of the saxophone,

Cuddles! [laughs]

[saxophone solo]

♪ ♪

And keepin' the b*at on his doggy drums,

here comes Stuff! [laughing]

♪ ♪

Ooh! - Wow!

You guys look awesome. So, where's your singer?

- [laughs] Yeah--oh, right, our singer.

[stammers] It's...

our singer! Our singer?

Oh, no. We don't have a singer!

[dramatic music]

[dogs whine]

Calvin, I forgot

that the Wag doesn't have a singer.

How are we gonna sing our songs?

- Um...

well, that's a really good question, Stuff.

- Oh, no.

The concert's at the end of the day,

and all of the kids are coming.

If we don't have a singer, then we won't be able...

[sobbing] To play!

children: Wag , Wag !

- [inhales shakily]

Wha--huh?

- Hey, that sounds like

it's coming from out front.

- Oh! [groans]

all: Wag , Wag , Wag !

[raucous trumpet music]

- [nervous stammering]

Oh, no.

Kids are already arriving for the concert.

What'll we do?

- Um... it'll be okay, Stuff.

Hey, I bet we can find a singer right here in Mutt & Stuff.

- Really? - Yeah!

We can have tryouts right here to find a singer.

- That's a great idea, Calvin.

Wow, you're the smartest person named Calvin I know.

[chuckles] Hugs!

[laughs]

children: Wag , Wag , Wag !

Oh, I really hope this works, Calvin.

- Ah, it will, Stuff.

Don't worry...

I hope.

- Hey, Davenport.

Davenport! - [scatting]

[scats]

- You done?

- Yup. Hey, Zoe.

- Hey, um, yeah, had a question for you.

Uh, do you play any musical instruments?

- Why, sure. I play the cello.

- Oh, well, cello to you too.

[humorous trombone note]

[snorts, laughs] - [laughing]

- I'm gonna fall down!

- I'm okay. - Meow too.

- [chuckles] Okay, guys.

It's time for our singer tryouts.

[laughs]

Come on in.

[upbeat music]

[cushions blow raspberries]

Huh...

well, that's, um... - [growls softly]

- Interesting.

[crickets chirping]

Um...

[cheerful harmonica melody]

Uh, cowboy, it's gonna have to be a no for me, dog.

[chuckles] Thanks for tryin'.

- ♪ If you're happy and you know it ♪

♪ Clap your hands ♪

Wait a second.

I don't have hands!

- [barks]

- [laughs]

- [groans]

- You got that right, Princess.

[laughs]

- ♪ The itsy-bitsy spider ♪

♪ Went up the waterspout ♪

♪ Down came the rain and... ♪

- [whispering] Washed the spider out.

- No, Sid--you're supposed to sing that line.

- Oh, yeah. Right.

♪ That line ♪

Eh? - Oh, brother.

- ♪ Oh, brother ♪ Yeah!

- Next.

- [growling]

♪ ♪

- ♪ Three blind mice ♪ - ♪ Three blind mice ♪

[together] ♪ See how they run ♪

♪ See how they run ♪

- Wha--oh, Darryl.

Hey, what are you doin' here?

I didn't know you were trying out too.

- [scoffs] Davenport,

that's your tail!

- [laughs] Oh, you're right.

I didn't know my tail could sing.

[humorous trombone note]

[both laughing]

[thud]

- How did we do?

- Not good.

- And now, it's time for Noodles

to rock the house.

[funky beats]

Or should I say...

rock the mouse?

One, two, three, four!

♪ Squeak-le, squeak-le, little star ♪

♪ How I wonder ♪

♪ What you ♪

[drum roll] Big finish.

♪ Are ♪

[laughing] Whoa!

[laughing]

[humorous trombone notes]

Good night, Mutt & Stuff!

[dogs barking] - [laughs]

Whoo! [laughing]

[groans] They're all so good.

Oh, it's so tough... [nervous laugh]

- Hey, Stuff. - [yelps]

- How did the tryouts go? - Oh, Calvin.

We still haven't found the right singer.

And it's almost time for the big concert.

[groans]

Hey, maybe the kids waiting

out front left and went home--

so we don't have to play.

children: Wag , Wag , Wag !

[tense string music]

all: Wag , Wag , Wag !

- [gasps]

Maybe not.

Yikes. We gotta find a singer

so we can put on a good show

for the kids. - Don't worry, Stuff.

Just keep looking, and before you know it,

you'll be rocking with your new singer.

[laughs]

[bell rings]

- Groom-a-zoom-zoom!

It's me, Gabi Groomer.

- Hey, Gabi. - Hi, Calvin.

Hi, Stuff. - Hey, Gabi Groomer.

Did you come to watch us play?

- Oh, I called Gabi so she can groom you guys

before the big concert. - That's right.

I even brought my rock n' roll hairbrush.

[electric guitar solo]

This thing can brush out even the gnarliest of knots.

- Well, that's awesome, Gabi. But I don't think I have time

to get groomed right now. Sorry.

The search for the Wag singer continues!

[laughing]

♪ ♪

- Well, maybe you can start grooming the other dogs first.

- Sounds righteous.

[electric guitar solo]

See you later, Calvin. Time to go groom-a-zoom-zoom!

- [laughs]

♪ ♪

- What to do?

Aha!

[cheerful music]

I know just the look for you, Cuddles.

I'm thinkin' a little mix of a classic pooch,

blasted with a kick of razzmatazz.

How does that sound?

- [barking]

- Great... right?

- [barking] - [chuckles]

Great! [laughs]

[upbeat acoustic guitar]

♪ Ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh ♪

♪ Brushin' a dog, groomin' their tails ♪

♪ Painting pretty colors on their tiny nails ♪

♪ Ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh ♪

♪ Brushin' a dog... ♪ - Huh?

- ♪ Groomin' their tails ♪ - Ooh!

- ♪ Paintin' pretty colors ♪

♪ On their tiny nails ♪

♪ Ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh ♪

- Gabi Groomer! - Who? What? When?

Where? How? Huh? - [stammering]

- Sorry, Stuff. When I'm grooming dogs,

I really get into the zone. - Oh.

- What's going on? - Well, I heard your singing,

and you have a beautiful voice.

- Who? Me? Nah.

- Oh, you do. You do!

And we need a singer for the Wag ,

and it could be you.

- Me? Sing for the Wag ?

Nah.

- Yeah! Come on, Gabi,

you'd be perfect.

- I don't know, I'd really have to think--

okay, let's do it! - Yippee!

Let's get everybody together and practice.

- Yeah! - [laughs]

C'mon!

[drumsticks tapping]

- ♪ If you're feelin' great ♪

♪ If you're feelin' rad ♪

♪ Hop on up and give your tail a wag ♪

♪ Waggin' your tail ♪

♪ Never fails to make me smile ♪

- [laughs] - ♪ If you're feelin' bad ♪

- [laughing] Yeah!

That was great.

- [barks] - Oh.

[uncertain music]

Wow, there sure are a lot of you watching me.

- [whines]

- Is everything okay, Gabi?

- I'm really sorry, guys.

I'm just not used to singing in front of crowds.

I usually just sing while I groom.

- Oh, crowds?

Well, this isn't a crowd. It's just a class.

[children chanting] Oh, but there's

a huge crowd outside.

[tense string music]

all: Wag , Wag , Wag !

- [whimpers]

Uh, Stuff? May I use your doghouse?

- Uh, sure. - Thank you kindly.

[screaming] Yikes!

- [gasps]

Aw, Calvin, what happened to Gabi?

- I think she's a little too nervous

to sing in front of the crowd.

- Well, we gotta help her

before the concert starts.

- Yeah.

[pensive music]

- Hey, Davenport.

Davenport! - [stammering]

Oh, hey, Zoe. - Do you get nervous

singing in front of crowds?

- Oh, I sure do.

After all, I am a scaredy-cat.

[humorous trombone note]

[both laughing]

- Oh! [thud]

- I'm okay. - Meow too.

all: Wag , Wag , Wag !

- Don't worry, kids.

The show will start soon.

That is, if we can get Gabi Groomer

to leave Stuff's doghouse.

children: Wag , Wag !

- [groans]

Oh, I really hope Gabi

will sing in the concert.

She's got such a beautiful voice.

- Hey, Stuff. - Whoa!

Oh, hey. - Did she come out yet?

- Oh, not yet. - Hm? Oh.

Um...hmm.

[knocking] Hey, Gabi.

Are you ready to sing with the band?

- ♪ No way ♪ [clears throat]

I mean, no way! - Stuff.

- Hmm? - I think it's time I had

a nose-to-nose with Gabi.

I'll be right back. - Okay.

[light music]

- [exhales] There's no way I'm singing

out there. Too many people watching.

[gentle piano music]

- Hey, Gabi. - Hi, Calvin.

- I know you're a little nervous about singing.

Maybe we could have a little nose-to-nose?

- Sure.

- Gabi...

everyone gets nervous.

- Really? Even you?

- Of course. When I was young,

I had to play a tuba for my concert.

And I was so scared, I ran into my room.

- No way. - Way.

- Well, then what did you do? - Well, I found something

that made me comfortable... so, I decided to play tuba

with my favorite stuffed animal.

Hey, Stuff! Can you please bring

Mr. Snuggle Muffins?

- Mr. Snuggle Muffins, comin' in!

[laughs] Here ya go.

- Mr. Snuggle Muffins! - Aww.

When you held Mr. Snuggle Muffins,

you felt better about playing your tuba?

- Yep. [laughs]

So what's something that makes you feel comfortable?

- Hmm...

Oh! I feel comfortable

when I groom dogs. - Oh.

- Ooh! Gabi, you can groom

while you sing!

- Groom while I sing?

That's a great idea! Come on,

let's go groom-a-zoom do it!

[cheery music]

all: Wag , Wag , Wag !

[applause] - Welcome, everyone!

[children cheer]

Welcome. Now, please

put your paws together for... the Wag and Gabi Groomer!

[cheers and applause]

Can I get a little help, Zippy? - [barks]

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

- Hello...tons of kids.

[sighs nervously]

- You can do it, Gabi.

Just groom your heart out.

[hopeful music]

[cheers and applause]

- Wow, I feel so much better.

Hello, Mutt & Stuff!

[crowd cheers]

Hit it, Stuff.

- One, two, three, four!

[upbeat rock music]

- ♪ If you're feelin' great, if you're feelin' rad ♪

♪ Hop on up and give your tail a wag ♪

♪ 'Cause waggin' your tail ♪

♪ Never fails to make me smile ♪

[Stuff laughs]

- ♪ Wag, wag, wag your tails ♪

[children cheering]

- [barks]

[soft music]

- [laughs] Way to go, Gabi.

You were incredible. - [squeaks excitedly]

- And you weren't nervous at all.

- [sighs in relief] Calvin, Stuff,

thank you so much for helping me.

And thanks to the best doggy band ever.

[cheers and applause]

Maybe the only doggy band ever.

And thanks to the kids. Whoo!

We are the Wag and Gabi Groomer.

[children cheer] - [laughs]

Whoa! Make that...

the Wag .

- Oh! You mean it?

- Yeah. - Oh!

How about a super paw?

[together] Super Paw!

[all laugh]

- Wow, that was awesome.

I think it's time to celebrate

with a rock n' roll doggy dance party!

Come on, wag it like you mean it.

- ♪ Mutt & Stuff, Mutt & Stuff ♪

♪ Hey, Calvin, what are we learnin' today? ♪

- Today, Stuff and his band wanted to put on a concert,

but he forgot they didn't have a singer.

- Oh, no! We don't have a singer!

- Then they found the perfect singer:

Gabi Groomer.

- Who? Me? - But Gabi never

sang in front of an audience before,

and she got nervous.

Then, we helped her sing in front of an audience

by having her do what makes her feel comfortable:

groom dogs.

And then we came here to watch

the Wag and Gabi Groomer!

[kazoo music]
