KIDS: Max and Ruby!

It's book time, class.

Everyone, please sit down in a circle.

How about this one?

Aw, not that one.Again?

Oh, I thought this was one of your favourites.

We like it, but we've read it a lot.

Yeah, a lot a lot.

Are there any new ones?

I'm afraid not. But that reminds me,

the school's having a fundraiser

to raise money for new library books.

Ooh!

Yay! New books!

For now, let's read an old favourite.

"As the little green frog..."

ALL: "...hopped down the long dusty road..."

One more!

RUBY: Nice tower, Max.

Thanks.

[Humming]

What's that?

I'm having a yard sale this weekend

to help raise money for the library.

We're getting new books!

I know, it's very exciting.

I have clothes, toys, and books to sell.

Can I help?

Of course! You could sell some of your old toys.

[Gasping]

My toys?

I meant help sell your stuff.

It's hard to say goodbye to your old things, isn't it?

I played with this when I was little.

But I'm not little anymore, so I don't need it.

And this used to be my favourite hat.

[Laughing]

That hat is way too small.

Exactly, that's why someone else should have it.

Do you want to put some old toys into the yard sale?

Remember, it's for a good cause-- new library books.

I'd like some new ones...

Okay, I'll go look in my room.

Great. I'll come and help you.

Let's look at your baby toys

and you can decide which ones to keep and which ones to sell.

We'll make two piles-- a keep pile and a sell pile.

Okay.

[Humming]

Oh.

MAX: My ducky!

I was looking for this. This goes in the keep pile.

I play with this all the time.

Let's put it in the keep pile.

This goes in the keep pile.

Okay, Max, this is definitely too young for you.

I forgot about this puzzle. Keep pile.

Okay, we've gone through everything.

Let's see what you've got.

My keep pile

and my sell pile.

Well, the ball is a start.

Max?

I changed my mind. I don't want to sell it.

[Sighing] Okay, Max.

You don't have to sell anything.

I'm going to put price tags on my items.

I found some things to sell.

Oh, that's great, Max.

So, where are they?

Right here.

Um...

Maybe we can sell...

this sofa, the phone,

the piano, the lamp.

Sell the couch? Where would we all sit?

Um, the chair?

[Laughing] Oh, Max.

And it would be pretty dark at night if we didn't have a lamp.

I guess so.

[Notes playing]

And I love playing our piano.

And I like listening.

You're right. We need all this.

[Sighing] I want to help,

but I don't want to sell my toys.

I know. What if you just picked three old toys?

That's a lot.

Come on, Max, you can do it. It will be a big help.

Hmm...

Okay.

[Humming]

This yard sale was a great idea, you two.

I guess.

Thanks for helping Max take this stuff out, Dad.

You're welcome. It was my pleasure.

Oh, where should I put this?

I'll hold it.

Okay. Have fun.

[Squeaking]

That sandbox toy is a lot of fun.

Ooh, look at this one!

Oh. You gave me too much money. Let me give you some change.

Here's , , -- [Gasping]

[Laughing]

That's a good one!

[Squeaking]

Sorry. Did I already say ?

Um, I'll just start over.

, -- oh!

Oops. Sorry!

[Squeaking]

[Sighing]

I wore this hate a lot, but it's still in great shape.

[Gasping]

Max, be careful, please.

Okay.

Sorry about that. Here, it's as good as new.

[Sighing]

Max, you're supposed to sell the toys,

not play with them.

Okay.

[Sighing] I hope more customers come soon.

[Spring sounding]

Whoa! Whoa!

Ah!

Whoa!

Whoo! Whoa! Whoa!

Whoa! Oof!

I'm okay! Sorry.

Max, the pogo stick's too small for you,

that's why you crashed.

You're right.

The rubber ducky, the ball,

the pogo stick-- you're too old for these toys.

Yes, but I'm still having fun with them.

I don't want to sell my toys.

Okay, Max, it's fine. You don't have to sell anything.

Thanks, Ruby.

Just try to be careful adorn my table.

Okay, I will!

Thank you.

Max, that's very generous of you.

But we insist on making a donation to the library fund.

BOTH:Really?

Of course.

Thank you.

You're very welcome.

Good luck with the rest of your sale.

Be right back.

What do you have in there?

Toys to sell!

Really?

Baby Huffington had fun with my rubber duck,

so I'm ready to sell more old toys.

That's great, Max.

we sold everything.

Last week's fundraiser was a huge success.

The library got its new books this morning.

[Imitating plane engine]

MAX: Not that one. Yes!

We've got a tent like this one upstairs.

Let's go camping.

Woo-hoo!

Let the badminton tournament begin!

Wait! We haven't figured out who will play who.

Well, we can draw straws

or pick a number or flip a coin.

I've got a coin!

Great. MAX: Look, Ruby.

We're going camping.

That's nice, Max.

We're about to start our badminton tournament.

Let's do it!

Yay!

I'm not allowed in the woods without a grown-up.

Hmm...

How 'bout...

my backyard?

Okay. Where can we put up a tent?

I'll ask my dad. We can go fishing.

You like fishing, right?

I love fishing!

And we can go hiking 'round the yard.

But we'll have to watch out for bears. Grr!

Bears?

Grr! Yep, bears.

Oh, scary.

[Chuckling] Grr!

[Grunting]

[Grunting]

I got it!

Good one, Louise.

Oh!

Ooh, nice one, Ruby.

Where should we put the tent?

Dad said we could put it anywhere.

He'll come out and help us.

How 'bout... over there in the woods?

Next to that mountain.

Yeah! Come on!

Ooh. [Giggling]

Ooh! Ooh!

[Sighing]

Hi, Ruby. We're going camping!

That's nice, Max.

See? This is our tent.

Dad is going to set it up for us.

Great, but we're in the middle of our badminton tournament,

so can you pitch your tent over there,

away from our net?

Sure.

Thanks.

Come on, Morris. We can go down by the lake.

Okay.

Ready, Louise?

Max, Morris, what are you doing?

You mean Camper Max and Camper Morris.

We're fishing.

I'm glad you're having fun,

but you fished Louise's racket right out of her hands.

Oops.

Sorry.

We were pretending the yard was a lake.

That's fine, but maybe the lake can be...

that way.

Over there.

Okay.

Well, that was something.

Yeah, you don't see that every day.

I think we're going to have to start this round over.

You're on!
