Shut it down. Shut it down!

We've created a black hole.

What the hell happened?

It was an emission of

gravitational radiation

caused by two black holes

merging together.

So how do we stop it exploding again?

It's already started

collapsing in on itself.

So we're gonna keep living

the next three weeks on loop?

They're scientists.

They built the machine that

caused the second singularity.

So you find them,

Just tell me

where Dr. Wheeler is.

they build you a machine

We go back past the checkpoint,

before the second

singularity was created.

- Stop it. Rescue Janet.

- Cancel the loop.

Everyone lives happily ever after.

- We found Dr. Samson.

- Where?

Swiss Alps.

Are you here to k*ll me?

Came here to keep you alive, actually.

We're going to make you

build us a time machine.

Can you tell me about Dr. Gray?

She was godlike to us.

Must have been really

difficult when she d*ed.

When she was m*rder*d.

We know Wes met Dr. Gray.

We know she covered it up.

We know Dr. Gray was m*rder*d

and her lab burnt down in 2012.

And we now know a conveniently

dead Lazarus agent

who suffered burns

at the exact same time.

When you were working on the machine,

- did you see who was sent back?

- Yeah.

Both of them.

Your life's about to be in danger.

- Who are you?

- Hi.

Oh, what? Becky?!

- Run!

- Who was that?

It's Bryson.

Listen, man. I don't know

what you think I done, but

It's not what you've done.

It's what you're gonna do.

What?

Miss Daniels? I'm Bryson.

I'm gonna be your handler

on the mission to 2012.

You know it's probably

gonna k*ll us, don't you?

- The machine's been thoroughly tested.

- Yeah?

On what?

Okay, Bryson.

I'm guessing ex-m*llitary,

turned private contractor?

Headhunted by our friends here,

with the promise of double your salary

and the chance to be the first

fuckboy to ride a time machine.

- Something like that.

- "Something like that."

Look, it's important

that when we get there

yeah, we have to be a team.

You understand that?

We all have our jobs to do.

And if we do them

to the best of our abilities,

we will be successful in our mission.

Well, my job

is to work with Dr. Gray,

on completing her project.

So we can undo the

mess, you lot created.

That's right.

- What's your job?

- My job's to make sure you do your job.

And if I don't?

Let's be really clear about this.

If you use

the thr*at of v*olence

against my daughter

to try and control me

I will k*ll you

at the first available opportunity.

The first available opportunity.

Well, let's hope it

doesn't come to that,

shall we?

Because humankind's survival rests

on the success of this

mission, Miss Daniels.

I should have thought that would

have been motivation enough!

You can call me Janet.

We're probably gonna die together,

so, may as well be

on first-name terms, hey?

I know you will do me proud.

According to calculations, you'll

arrive right after Becky does.

You'd better f*cking hope so.

Bryson's the best man we've got.

I wouldn't trust anyone else

with this mission.

- Becky!

- Mum!

It's okay.

It's okay.

It's okay. You're okay.

You're okay.

I know you, George Addo.

I know you.

George!

Stay down!

- Come on, come on!

- Go! Go, go, go, go.

I saw you in Barcelona.

- Right.

- When you were six.

That time, yeah.

The second time I lived

through 2022, I was 16.

So you were taken when you were little?

Yes.

Mum!

They separated me from my mum.

Took me to somewhere in the mountains.

I remember thinking it looked

like a factory or something.

There were lots of people there.

It was loud. I was scared.

They made me lie down in this chamber.

All I remember is noise and light,

and then suddenly moving so,

so fast and screaming,

and then it stopped.

And I got out, and

and Mum and Bryson were there.

What, the guy

that just tried to k*ll me?

Yeah.

Okay.

Then we walked for miles in

the dark, and we were outside.

- In 2012.

- Yeah.

And then

Lots of traveling.

Lots of waiting.

Couple of flights. Eventually

we ended up in London

which is where we met Kitty, Dr. Gray.

Her and Mum were working together,

so we had this little flat

on campus near the lab.

- It's for visiting academics.

- Thank you. It's perfect.

In the day they work together,

and in the evenings we'd hang out.

For a while things were good.

And then

one night, Bryson came and woke me up.

And I could hear shouting and g*nshots.

Smell burning.

Everywhere was full

of smoke. I couldn't see, or breathe.

We got separated.

It's the last I ever saw of him.

So I kept walking.

I was so scared.

I found my mum, and she

was arguing with this guy

I'd never seen before,

but he was dressed all in

black and carrying a g*n.

She was arguing with him?

She was begging him.

She was begging him,

"Ross, please don't hurt her."

Ross?

It's the last I remember

before I blacked out.

Woke up in a hospital.

Obviously, I had no ID,

and no records of me existed.

No one knew what to do with me.

Got put in a care home.

Couple of different foster parents.

Bad times.

So, how'd you come to be

on that train this morning?

- This is the weird part.

- This is the weird part?

Yeah, well,

it's all kind of weird, I guess.

But on my 18th birthday,

which is in two days,

I get a note with details

of a lockbox at University.

And inside are two things: a g*n,

and a note that says

on the 1st of July,

I need to be in that seat on that train

to save your life.

So that's where I've been every loop,

just waiting for you to need me.

So when you said you were 18,

you were actually 17.

I'm actually 20, if you think about it.

Oh, I try not to.

f*cking hell.

So

what do we do now?

Who sent you the lockbox

with the note and the g*n, then?

Obviously it was you, wasn't it?

You're gonna go back to 2012,

find a way to save me and my mum,

and put your g*n and a note

to save your life in that

lockbox for me to find

so today can happen.

Yeah, but I haven't

gone back in time, yet.

- How can I have done that?

- Because you will.

But what if I don't?

You will, because I've told you to.

Do you know what a causal loop is?

It's a time loop that causes itself.

If you went back in time

before Einstein discovered

the theory of relativity

and you told him E=MC2.

You know that because you

learnt it off him, now he knows it

'cause he learned it off you.

That's a causal time loop.

f*ck, I hate time travel.

- Where are we going, by the way?

- Lazarus HQ.

No. I'm not going there.

Mum told me, "Whatever you do,

don't trust anybody

from the Lazarus Project."

- I'm in the Lazarus Project.

- Are you, though?

Well, yeah, okay,

I'm on probation, I guess.

But it's the Lazarus Project

trying to fix all this sh*t

I don't care.

- I don't trust them.

- What about your dad?

- You don't wanna see your dad?

- Everything that's happened to me

is his fault.

He left us. He's never been

for us. Never rescued me.

Never even come looking for me.

As far as I'm concerned,

I don't have a dad.

So, no, I don't wanna see him.

I don't wanna see Lazarus.

- Yes.

- Miss Wesley, it's Dr. Samson here.

I know where the serum is.

Thank you.

I want you to go back

to the Time Break facility

and try to find any equipment

that might be of use to us.

- Hi.

- That was a good kiss.

We got crushed under rubble

and that was still a good kiss.

That won't happen

every time I kiss you.

How many times

were you planning on kissing?

See? We're okay.

We don't know that yet.

- Don't touch me.

- Why not?

I just need five minutes of

no-one touching me afterwards.

Right, okay.

I mean, very good.

Thank you.

"Thank you"?

- Yeah.

- You're so British.

- "Thank you for the sex."

- Shut up.

Ma'am?

Archie? Dr. Samson's

found a potential location

for the serum. It's a

private lab in Sydney.

I'm sending over the details.

Uh, okay, great.

I'll go check it out.

Can you find Zhang

and take her with you?

I'll see if she's around.

Okay, hold on, because this is urgent.

I'll call her now.

The phone.

So you'll go together then.

Yes, ma'am.

f*ck.

Thank you, Archie.

Okay, we have to go.

sh*t, it's worse on the inside.

What are you

What are you doing for money?

- I have a job, obviously.

- Oh, yeah? Where?

Tesco.

Can't really imagine you on the till.

Well, beep, beep, m*therf*cker.

I'm good at it.

Do you want something to eat?

I've got Pot Noodle.

Oh, mate, I love a Pot Noodle.

- Really?

- No.

Listen, are you gonna be all right

waiting here while I

figure out what to do?

I'm coming with you.

No, no. You ain't gotta do that.

I got a note saying

I had to protect you,

so, yeah, actually I do gotta do that.

I do appreciate the offer

of an 18-year-old girl with a

handgun following me around,

- but I can look after myself.

- What do I do then?

I dunno. Just hang out

here. Maybe, tidy up a bit.

- Is that it?

- Yeah, that's it.

Oh, and thank you for

my saving my life earlier.

You're a real one for that.

Right.

Let's get this done quick.

Right.

Wes wants you to poke around?

See if there's anything you can

use to build your own one of these.

You think there's a

chance that still it works?

I think it's unlikely

the Time Break Initiative

would have abandoned

a fully working time machine.

I'm an optimist.

Really?

Or a nihilist, maybe. I don't know.

Well, that doesn't seem good.

What are you thinking about?

Okay, this isn't like,

I'm not overthinking things.

- Okay.

- I just want to make that clear.

Sure.

If this is a thing,

and I'm not saying it is.

You know, "No worries,

if not," etcetera, etcetera.

If it is

this isn't the first time

I've had a workplace

complication.

Complication?

Relationship, which,

again, I'm not saying this is,

but

It could be.

Right.

Well, thank God

you're not overthinking it.

It's always better to overthink

than underthink, in my experience.

There's our guy.

- Did you want to do it, or?

- Oh, no. Please.

Who was it then?

Your last complication?

His name was Ross.

He was my mentor.

We were together.

I was leaving my boyfriend.

He was leaving his wife.

- Oh, that's so sweet.

- Shut up.

I loved him.

It was real.

So, what happened?

We completed the mission.

He didn't make it.

I'm sorry.

Yeah.

Hi. I was just wondering

We've all got history, you know.

It shouldn't stop you doing

something you want to do.

I know, I'm just,

I haven't really been

Jesus Christ, you and that Taser.

I haven't really been

with anyone since.

There was a loop.

I d*ed. He brought me back.

Isn't that against

Lazarus Project rules?

Very f*cking much, yes.

Pretty.

- So it really was a real thing.

- Yeah.

I mean, it's not like he

took me out for dinner

and splashed out on

some expensive jewellery.

I d*ed and he brought me back.

That just, it sort of sticks

with you, you know?

So this Ross, who you

went out with six years ago.

Eight, if you count the loops.

Do you think

he'd want you to stay alone, forever?

Or was he a normal person?

He'd think I was an idiot for

even having this conversation.

Well on that, at least, we can agree.

The plans showed a palm scanner.

I guess, they upgraded

to a retinal scanner.

We'll try again next loop.

- Any luck?

- No.

It's

Well, the scientific phrase is,

it's completely f*cked.

Maybe try hitting it with a spanner.

- I have no idea how to fix this.

- The good news is,

you have an infinite

amount of time to figure it out.

We don't have

an infinite amount of time.

Eventually, the forces that allow us

to jump back to the checkpoint

are going to snap,

and then our universe will simply

cease to exist.

Well, now it's definitely nihilism.

"Now it's definitely nihilism."

- Becky?

- Yeah.

Oh, my head hurts.

Well, I don't know what to do

with her. She don't trust her dad,

- she don't trust Lazarus.

- Can you blame her?

Of course, I can't blame her, I

just dunno what to do with her.

And Brian?

Bryson. Yeah, I dunno.

I mean, I looked him in his eyes,

and he just despises me.

Like, he hates me,

but he's terrified of me. He thinks

I'm gonna do something to him.

Whatever you do to him,

it must be pretty bad.

I don't do anything to him.

What am I gonna do to him?

The f*cking world's

falling apart, I swear to God.

Listen,

I'm really sorry about what

I said in the last time loop.

But I shouldn't be putting

that kind of pressure on you.

I just miss you.

Why?

Why what?

Why do you miss me?

Why do I?

Why does anyone

feel anything? I just do.

That's how I feel.

Why don't I, though?

Why don't I feel anything?

I don't feel anything, George.

I don't know if I'm just coming apart

f*ck.

No, no, no.

Listen, listen, you don't need to.

Stop!

No, no, no, listen man.

I haven't

done any thing

Hurry up, Reggie. He's been sh*t!

- Can I come to you?

- Yeah.

Don't you need a bodyguard?

- Bryson strangled me to death.

- Yeah.

And he k*lled Sarah.

But what did I do to him?

What am I gonna do to him?

I don't know.

If I see him again, I'm gonna

give him a reason to hate me.

- You best believe that.

- Causal loop, baby.

No, don't f*cking "causal loop" me.

Now I got to deal with this?

I hate time travel, man!

Shall we go and steal this serum?

Yeah, let's go.

Here's the serum.

- Well?

- I'll run some tests.

But without a working

machine, it's all academic.

We're stuck here.

Well, that's your department.

Anything you need, we'll get you.

Yes, well,

without being the voice of doom,

there's actually a much bigger

problem we need to worry about.

We're losing time.

We jumped back eight seconds

before we should have last loop.

- What does that mean?

- It means that it's begun.

The degrading of time.

The collapse of the loop.

It means we either find

a way out of this soon,

or our universe will fall apart.

Well, we'd better start working

even harder then, hadn't we?

Let's get back to it.

George, Sarah,

I'd really like to talk to you about

what the hell happened in the

pub.

Think I wouldn't find out?

I wouldn't know what you f*cking did?

- I never thought they'd ever

- You never thought what?

That there'd be consequences?

Well, guess what?

There are. Right now.

I'm doing everything I

can to get them back.

- That's not good enough.

- Rebrov, if you hurt her,

I will k*ll you. And I'll do it slowly.

Got a little crush, have you?

Yeah, she seems your f*cking type.

No morals.

What do you think, Arch?

Think you can sh**t me,

before I get the Kn*fe in?

Two inch cut here,

she'll take a while to die.

Very unpleasant.

Drop it, you son of a bitch.

If the world ever

does go back to being normal,

I'll find a way to wipe you

from it permanently.

- Rebrov

- Tell you what.

Why don't I k*ll this

bitch every f*cking loop?

Maybe that'll

make you actually do something!

Look, your daughter's not dead!

Becky, she

She's not dead.

What are you talking about?

She came and found me. The

Becky that was sent back, she's

She's here.

She's 18 years old now,

but, yeah, she's here.

How long have you known?

Only since last loop.

Why didn't you tell me?

- Why didn't you tell me?

- She don't wanna see you.

What's she told you, George?

Nothing.

Yeah, she remembers being

sent back as a kid, but that's it.

They separated her and Janet.

She never saw her again.

- Take me to her.

- No!

No one speaks to her till I have.

- You're an assh*le.

- No, I had to tell him.

- No, you didn't.

- Look, he's your dad.

And what you said earlier

was wrong. He is trying to find you.

He's doing everything he can to

go back and rescue you, and

And, like, you're here

and he's here, and

Look, just talk to him, all right?

It's literally too mad,

if you don't, so

Please.

Becky.

I'm not a hugger.

I never

I didn't

Jesus Christ.

What happened to you?

I got left behind.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

I were coming for you.

- We were coming to save you.

- Well, you didn't.

No one ever came.

What about your mum?

She didn't make it.

Becky remembers her

talking to a man called Ross.

Oh, Becky. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.

We can still save her.

We've still gotta go back.

Samson will find a way

to fix that machine.

How?

Well, we went back.

You can too.

Where were this taken?

At the flat in the university building.

Is it still there?

I think it's offices now or something.

"What we find

changes who we become."

"It'll be worth the wait."

"Big plans are afoot."

- This was a code.

- What does it mean?

It means f*cking look for something.

How much further?

It's just up here, I think.

Yes!

- It's an instruction manual.

- For what?

We have to go to Lazarus, right now.

It's for a time machine.

Holy sh*t.

I mean, this is the silver b*llet.

I mean, this is

This is everything.

I thought we'd lost it in the fire,

but Christ, we might actually

be able to make this work.

Where did you get this?

From the past.

- We're running out of time.

- Yes, ma'am.

Best get building, then.

We're gonna use the plans

to build a simplified version

of the Time Break's core processor.

Right, thank you, gentlemen.

We can use the Lazarus jet

to provide the velocity we need.

And reverse engineer more serum

from the batch stolen from the lab.

It's a simple ring.

A to B and back, again. No thrills.

But it should work.

Okay, so, I need those over there.

And, yes, do please be careful of

those. They do have uranium in them.

So there's a complex methodology

to programming a destination.

There's so many variables.

The Earth's position

in its solar trajectory,

lunar charts, et cetera, et cetera,

et cetera. Very complex stuff.

But I've managed

to build a simple command

program into the IOS.

And you see there,

on the 1st of June, 2023,

that should get us back

to around a month

before the second

singularity is created.

We can fix this.

If we build a machine to go

past the checkpoint in 2023,

we can stop the creation of the loop.

And we can stop it from happening.

We can stop Janet and her daughter

from being sent back. We can, uh

Well,

we can save the world.

Mum told me not to

trust the Lazarus Project.

She were right.

- But you trust them?

- I'm working with them,

because I got no other choice.

I want to come with you.

It's too dangerous.

- But I can help.

- Yeah, you can help.

You can help by staying

safe while I fix all this.

Pass me that, will you?

Yeah, that poor girl.

Growing up alone.

Not knowing what happened to her mum.

Yeah, I lied.

They weren't separated.

Janet was m*rder*d.

In the fire at the lab.

And Becky saw her

with a man called Ross

just before she was k*lled.

Sounded like she knew him.

Yeah, I think there was

a mission back in 2012.

I think this guy Ross, was sent

to k*ll a scientist called Dr. Gray

and destroy all her

research into time travel.

And I think Wes is behind it.

The question is, why?

"The past

is a foreign country."

It is a foreign country,

and it's a dangerous one.

Full of swamps and shadows.

And us, heading down the river,

like the heart of f*cking darkness.

Do you know what they find

at the end of that river?

They find death.

So here's a thought, yeah?

We go back in time and change things,

you're not gonna remember

this time loop, are you?

You're not gonna remember

that you forgave me

- and we became mates again.

- I haven't forgiven you,

and we've never been mates.

It's like this version of you

just isn't gonna exist.

Like, are we k*lling the you,

I'm talking to now

and replacing you with,

like, a new you.

f*cking hell, I don't know.

If you see me in 2023,

just try not to sh**t me, yeah?

I can't promise anything, mate.

George?

Yeah?

Find Janet.

Bring her home.

All right.

Let's get this done.

Oh, no, thanks.

Oh, no.

No, are we going down?

If we go back in time,

if we die, do we die?

If we die, do we die?

I don't f*cking know.

Have we gone back?

- Samson?

- If we die, we die.

If we die, we die!

Oh, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck.

Oh Jesus Christ, oh Jesus

Christ, oh Jesus Christ.

Oh, Jesus, are we gonna be okay?

It's gonna be okay.

Oh, we're gonna die!
