[Peter] The Tale of the One Who Got Away.

[Peter grunts]

Oh!

I did everything you told me to do,
and it's still not working.

Let me show you.

-Okay. Flat arm...
-Mm-hmm.

Loose wrist, pull back.

That's what I did.

Huh?

Wait, what's this?

I thought I'd read every page
of my dad's journal,

but I never saw that before.

[Lily] That's a big fish.

[Benjamin] A really big fish. Wow.

The biggest fish I've ever seen!

[all gasp]

[all gasp]

[gulps] Wha... What was that?

It's the same fish
as the one in the drawing

and it's right here in this lake.

Maybe fishing isn't
such a good idea after all.

Hey, let's ask Jeremy Fisher about it.

He knows everything about the lake.

[all] Mr. Fisher. Mr. Fisher!

Ah, Peter, Lily, Benjamin.

Florence. [chuckles]

What brings you to these parts?

Oh! That fish is the reason why I
don't go far out on the lake anymore.

-[Benjamin gasps]
-Who is he?

The meanest, strongest,
nastiest fish of all.

No one has ever come
close to catching him.

Except, uh...

Uh... Except... Mmm.

[gasps]

Oh, no, you don't.

Yes, Mr. Fisher? No one except?

[croaks]

Where was I? Oh, yes.

No one except your father, Peter.

One day he was out fishing

and he came face to face with...

Oh, no! I can't say his name!

[wails]

-Please Mr. Fisher.
-Tell us.

Jack Sharp. The fish is called Jack Sharp!

There, I've said it.

So what happened? How come
this Jack Sharp is still in the lake?

Your father was determined to catch him.

He cast his line, pulled to the right.

Then the left. Then right again.

Suddenly he lost his footing!

But so big was Jack,

that he was too much

even for a great adventurer
like your father to reel in.

And? And?

I went for help.

But when I returned,

Jack Sharp was gone.

And your father never spoke
of the great fish again.

And from that day, I called Jack Sharp

-"The One That Got Away."
-[Peter] Hmm.

Can I borrow your fishing rod,
please, Mr. Fisher?

Maybe Jack Sharp is asleep or something.

Maybe you should try wiggling the rod.

[Peter sighs] Nothing.

Can we go home now?

Wait! I think I've got him!

-Look!
-[Peter grunts]

That's him!

[stammering] Run!

-[Peter grunts]
-[screams]

Well, uh, at least we know the rod works.

[muffled] If you're fishing for boots.

What we need is to find
something fish like eating,

like worms.

Fish love eating worms.
I know that for a fact.

Then let's hop to it!

[groans]

[sighs]

[Lily sighs]

There don't seem to be
any worms here, Peter.

I say we all go home
and forget about fishing.

-[snoring in distance]
-Huh?

[snoring]

Maybe we could borrow some worms
from Tommy Brock.

No way!

How many do you think we need?

A big fish like Jack Sharp
is going to be hungry.

Let's take them all.

[Benjamin grunts]

Wait, we're gonna catch a mean fish

with worms we're taking
from a nasty badger.

Sound like a bad idea to me.

Relax, Benjamin, Tommy Brock is sleeping.

What could possibly go wrong?

-Hmm.
-[loudly] Hurry up, Peter!

[shushes] You'll wake him.

[Peter grunts]

What's going on?

-[both gasp]
-Huh?

Trying to steal my worms, eh?

[Peter] Run!

Oh! [grunting]

The string! You're pulling him with us!

[Tommy growls]

Give me my worms!

Whoa!

[gasps] One of my dad's secret tunnels.

[growls]

[grunts]

-Oh.
-[Peter] Whoa!

Eh?

[sighs] That was close.

That was fun.

-Ahh!
-[laughs]

Okay, so, we stick the worm
on the end, like this.

Now we should be able to catch the fish.

The really big fish.

The biggest fish ever.

We need to go further out on the lake.

Yes, further out.

Wait, are you sure?

I think we're fine here.

So, we'll have to build a boat.

Or we could use this one.

Or we could use that one.

Rabbits are brave. Rabbits are brave.

We can do this.

Perfect.

Yeah, perfect.

Jack Sharp's got to be here somewhere.

Which means he's going to bite
any second now.

[sighs]

[sighs] I don't understand.

Why won't Jack Sharp
come and eat the worm?

It's getting late, Peter.

A good rabbit never gives up, Lily.

Maybe we should go home
and come back tomorrow.

Or never?

[sighs] I really wanted
to catch that fish.

You're right. We'll just have to
come back tomorrow.

And don't forget the rod!

Oh, yeah.

Whoa! Whoa!

I think I've caught something!

[both] Peter!

[screaming]

[gasps] Jack Sharp.
