a little closer

I know just how
you feel, clifford.

You do?

But you're not small
like me, jorge.

Well, no,
but I'm extra-long,

And sometimes that's
not much fun, either.

Like for instance...

When you're extra-long,

It's not easy jumping
across a mud puddle.

And it's a lot harder
playing hide-and-seek.

Over here!
Over here!

I remember one day,

last night, jorge.

It's great!

What is that kid
riding on?

It's a flying carpet!

See, the story's about
this boy who finds
a magic lamp.

He rubs it and out
comes this genie
who promises that...

[Deep voice]
your wish is my command.

Yikes!

Together: norville!

Oh, greetings,
my friends, my pals.

I was just zooming
around the neighborhood,

And I thought
I would drop in.

Hey, hey,
does the genie
really say,

"Your wish is my
command," norville?

Have you read
the book?

No, but I saw the play
last summer in the park,

And the genie
tells the boy...

[Deep voice]
"you have 3 wishes,
master."

And the boy says,
"really?

Oh, well, thanks,
genie!"

Then the genie says,
"after I grant you
these 3 wishes,

I will be free
from the lamp."

And the boy says,
"well, that sounds fair.

"Ok, ok, so my first
wish is, um,

Well, you know,
my first wish is, um..."

[Whispering]
hey, red, what was
his first wish?

Uh, I don't know.

Emily elizabeth's
going to read that
chapter tonight.

Wouldn't it be cool
if we found a lamp
like this?

Uh, I could find one.

Like this one?

Well, sure.
Well, uh, absolutely.

Well, uh, almost...
Like it.

With a genie inside?

Maybe.

Or maybe not.

Well, daffodilly, there is
only one way to find out,

And I will be right back
because I'm zooming away.

I will be back!

Oh, wow.

I wish I could fly
like that.

[Grunting]

[Sigh]

Norville is so lucky.

He doesn't even need
a magic carpet to fly.

Do you think norville
will find a lamp
with a genie in it?

Not likely...

But it would be great
if he did.

Oh, it sure would be!

The genie would grant

That's one wish for you,
daffodil, one wish for jorge,

And one wish for me.

I know what
I'd wish for.

What?

[Squeak]

Tacos.
Lots of tacos.

And tostadas.
And burritos.

Mmm.

Jorge: wow!

Whoo-hoo!

Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!

I love tostadas!

[Sniffing]

And burritos.

[Gulping]

Ahh!

Mmm!

[Gasp]

Tacos!

I hereby claim this mountain
of tacos in the name of jorge!

Wha-hoo!

[Gobbling]

That's a great wish,
jorge.

Uh-huh. I would have
a whole mountain of tacos--

All to myself!

You'd also have
a great, big tummy-ache
all to yourself.

[Whimpering]

I know,
but it'd be worth it.

[Laughing]

What about you,
daffodil?

Do you know what you
would wish for?

Oh, yes, clifford.

I know exactly what
I would wish for.

I'd wish for a field filled
with delicious clover...

Lots of sunshine...

Fresh water...

And absolutely no noise.

[Bird chirping]

Ahh!

And now for that nap.

That's what
I'd wish for--

A nice, quiet field
to call my own.

That's pretty neat,
daffodil.

Si.

Well, what about you,
clifford?

What do you wish for?

A bone? A toy?
A really cool collar?

Hmm, no.
I wish...i wish...

What?
What do you wish?

I wish I could fly,
just like norville!

Whee!

Uhh!

Oops.
Sorry, daffodil.

[Chuckling]

So you want
to fly, huh?

Well, maybe not alone.

I wish that
emily elizabeth and I
could both fly!

We'd fly all over
the city!

[Barking]

[Ruff ruff]

Whoa!

Ha ha ha!

Ha ha!

[Meowing]

Oh, that's
a fantastic wish,
clifford.

What kind of wish
do you think norville
will ask the genie for?

And flo! And zo!
And nina! And--

What's wrong?

Oh, clifford,

The genie only grants

And after that, he's free
and all the wishing is over.

You mean no one else
gets a wish?

Not even norville?

But he's the one
who went to get the lamp!

That's not fair.

Oh, greetings, everybody.
I found it.

I found the lamp.

Wow!
Cool!

That's a magic lamp?

Indeed it is.

Well, you know,
I had to improvise a bit.

Now, who wants to make
the first wish? Cliff?

Well, uh...

I was going to wish
that emily elizabeth
and I could fly,

But, well, you know,

She and I get around
just fine using our legs,

So I don't really
need a wish, norville.

Nope. You can have mine.

I can? Gee, thanks, puppy.

Well, ok.
How about you, jorge?

I want to hear your wish.

[Slurp]

Well, I kind of wish
I had a big mountain
of tacos.

Mmm!

But it would probably
just give me
a big tummy-ache.

Oh, besides,

Nina makes sure
I get plenty of
good things to eat.

So you take my wish,
too, norville.

Really?

Well, that--that's
very generous of you, jorge.

Ok. So what about
you there, daffodil?

What would you wish for?

Me?
Uh-huh.

Daffodil: a little
peace and quiet
would be really nice.

Then again, I think
I'd really miss

All the noise
around here.

So take my wish,
too, norville.

Hold it. Stop the music.

You really want me
to have it, daff?

Yeah, I really do.

Yeah, you take all 3
of the wishes, norville.

You deserve them.

Wow! This is unexpected.

I thank you so much.
Thank you one and all.

You're welcome.

So, what will
you wish for,
norville?

Any ideas?

Well, let's see.
I wish for, um...

I wish for...

You know something?

I don't wish for anything.

Huh?
Huh?
Really?

Yeah. I already have
everything I need.

Great friends,

And a beautiful sky
to enjoy with them.

Gee, you're right,
norville.

We've already got
a magical place to live.

But I still like making
wishes just for fun.

Emily elizabeth:
hey, everyone.

Who wants to hear
a story?

[Barking]

Ooh. Ooh.

[Ruff ruff]

"Once upon a time,
there was a young boy

Who found a very special
magic lamp..."

[Ruff]

Jorge: clifford!
I just found a great
new place to bury bones.

Where?

It's a special
secret place.

So if I tell you,

Do you promise
not to tell anyone?

I promise.

Ok. It's...

[Whispering]

Wow! That is
a great place, jorge.

Hey, little rouge,
jorge, what's new?

Jorge just found
a brand-new spot
to bury bones.
