that is called the, uh,

Yellow-bellied
hawaiian sneezer.

Ho ho! That sounds
great, norville!

Hey! Flo! Zo!

We're going to make
a school!

You want to join?sure!

Now, what should
we teach, zo--

Pouncing or bouncing?

Well, pouncing
sounds harder...

But, really,
bouncing is tougher.

We better start
with pouncing.

Ooh, ooh!
And I can teach digging!

I'm an expert on dirt.

And then I suppose
it's left up to me
to teach good manners.

Of course,
who else is there?

But if you're all going
to be the teachers,

Who's going to be
the students?

Well, I'm certainly not
going to learn digging.

Do you know how hard it is
to keep a white coat clean?

And I'm not big
on bird calls.

I mean, the only bird
I ever call is norville,

And he's here
all the time anyway.

We don't need
any lessons
in good manners.

Yeah! When would we
use them?

[Both laughing]

You know, pup,
I'm thinking you might be
the only student,

Which is a very good thing
because...you'll get all
the attention.

Uh...okay.

Sure! Great!

So, who's going
to teach me first?

Okay. Now, it is time

To begin our first
lesson in bird calls.

Oh, boy! Are you going
to teach me

That yellow-belly
sneezer one?

The what?

Oh, no, no, no.

We're going to start
with something very simple.

You know, like the owl.

Oh, boy! Oh, boy,
oh, boy oh, boy!

An owl!

Yeah. Now, in order
to sound like an owl,

You have to think
like an owl.

As a matter of fact,
you got to look like
an owl, so...

Put your shoulders back,

Scrunch up your neck,

Open your eyes really big...

And go, "hoo!"

Hoo!who what?

Hoo...

Just, uh, hoo.

Uh, like an owl.

Oh, oh, that's your owl!
Oh, good.

That's very, very good,
little red,

Only you need
to be louder

If you want a real owl
to hear you.

But don't worry
because I am a great
hoo teacher.

See, there is no bird
in this world

With more hooey
in him than me.

Flo: hey, clifford!
Come on!

Zo: it's time for
your pouncing lesson.

I'll be back soon,
norville.

Thanks!

Okay, clifford.
Now, what you want to do

Is pounce on the ball
without making it jingle.

[Bell jingling]

You show him, flo.
Okay.

You put your head down,

Your bottom up,

Then you step 1, 2, 3,
and pounce!

See? No jingle!

Now you try it,
clifford.

You put your head down,

Your bottom up,

And step 1, 2, 3,
and pounce!

[Bell jingling]oh! Oh! Oh!

Not bad for
your first try.

You just need
some practice.

Daffodil:
oh, clifford!

I'm ready for your
good manners lesson,

And it's not polite
to keep someone
waiting.

Oh! Uh, oh, guys,
i--i got to go.

Coming, daffodil!

Hey, hey,
it's fred.

Uh-huh, but today
we're not going
to play with him.

We're going to use him
to learn good manners.

Okay. Now let's pretend
this is the first time
you're meeting fred.

What do you say?

Hey, hey there!

No. You say...

[Dignified tone]
how do you do?

Ahem.

How-how do you do?

No, no, no, no.

You have to say it
with a slight bow
of your head.

Uh...h-h-how
do you do?

No! You can't
knock him over.

But in case you do,
you say...

"Uh-oh"?no!

You say, "I beg
your pardon."

Really, clifford,
hasn't living with me
taught you anything?

Uh, that rabbits eat
a lot of carrots?

[Sighs]

Jorge: hey, clifford!
Over here, buddy!

It's time to dig
some dirt!

Oh, uh, sorry,
daffodil.

It's not good manners
to keep jorge waiting.

Well, at least
he learned something.

Okay, jorge.
I'm all yours.

Great. Now, the most
important thing to remember
about digging a hole

Is you have to fill it
back up so nobody falls
in it.

You got it?got it!

Then let's get you
digging!

Ready, set,

Go!

[Grunting]

That's it, clifford.

Really use
those front paws.
Nice and steady.

Okay, stop.

Good job, pal!

Now what do we do,
clifford?

We fill it back up!

You do that

While I go find us
something to bury.

Norville:
excuse me, pup.

We got to get back
to hooing over here.

You know, use it
or lose it, buddy.

Oh, but, uh,

Well, uh...
Okay, norville!

Okay. Shoulders back,

Neck scrunched,
eyes big, and--

Zo: come on,
clifford!

You need
to practice
your pouncing!

He is busy hooing!

Flo: he's been hooing

Let's go, clifford!

I'll be right
back, norville!

Whoooa!

Oh!

H-how do you do?

Uh-uh-uh-uh!
You say...

Oh! I mean, I mean--

Flo: you have to try it
again, clifford.

I--i beg your pardon?

No, not that polite
stuff. Pouncing!
Huh?

[Chuckles]
excuse me,

But clifford
is having a good
manners lesson now.

Huh?

you got to fill it
