Ahoy, maties. Every night
when the sun sets

the coquís of the island sing,
and Kiko joins in.

- I can't wait
to hear the singing.

[playing guitar]

- It's music to my ears.

- Hey, vamo a cantar coquí.

when the sun goes down, ♪

♪ Kiko and his friends
make a beautiful sound ♪

♪ That sweet melody
of the island's Coquí ♪

all the coquis are gonna sing.

- Mira!
The sun is almost gone.

- There it goes. There it goes.

- Everyone, listen.

- I'm listening as hard
as I can listen.

- [chirps]
- I don't hear them either.

- [whines]
Coquí, coquí.

- The coquís have gone quiet.

- Don't worry, Kiko,
we're going to figure out

why the coquís
have stopped singing.

Compass,
where do we find the coquís?

- Coquís.
[chirping]

- That's your home, Kiko?

Perfecto! Then that's where
we need to go.

Adventure awaits, me hearties.

both: Piratas ahoy!

- It's so weird not to hear
the coquís singing.

I miss it.
- Me too.

- [whines]

both: Whoa!
- Que maravilla!

- Coquí, coquí.

- This is it.
The entrance is here.

- Donde?
- I don't see anything.

- Kiko, where are you going?

- Coquí, coquí, coquí.

- Kiko wants us
to go behind the waterfall.

- How do we get
behind a waterfall?

- Leave it to me,
waterfalls are my specialty.

to mermaid from girl.

♪ Ahh ♪

- [gasps]
- Caracoles!

- Espada brilla!

- Coquí, coquí.

- That's the way to where
the coquís are.

- Caracoles!

How are you supposed
to fit through there?

- Oh!

- What is that?

- It's a petroglyph.

Long ago, people
carved pictures in rocks,

some tell stories,

some represent
special places or things.

This one looks like a frog.

- Coqui, coqui.

- Kiko wants us to touch
the petroglyph.

[shimmering tone]

[all gasp]

Blimey, we're coquís.

- I'm so slimy, and I like it.

- Coqui, coqui.
- [laughs]

Kiko, says we've
never looked better.

- Coqui, coqui.

- That's why Kiko wanted us
to turn into coquis

to fit through the entrance.

Let's go.
Whoa! Oof!

- Coqui, coqui.

- I'm okay, but it's hard
to walk on these legs.

We're going to need
your help, matey.

- [chattering]

- Kiko says that frogs
don't walk, they jump.

We need to focus
on our back legs.

- Coqui, coqui.

- Ah, I see. Like this.

Brinca! Brinca!
Brinca! Brinca!

- Aha! Coquis!

- Well done, Capitán.

Your new legs are amazing.

I'm gonna try my new tongue.
It's stuck.

[laughing]

- Whoo!

- Uh!
[laughs]

Thanks, Kiko.
- Coqui, coqui.

all: Brinca! Brinca! Brinca!

- Whoa!
- Ooh!

- Whoo!

♪ ♪

- You want us to do that?

- Coqui, coqui.

- Dale. We can--whoa!
- [gasps]

both: Santi!
- Ahh!

Ooh!

Gracias, socio.

- Here goes nothing.

- Brinca!

♪ ♪

- [sighs] Brinca!

Caracoles!

Huh?

I landed?

- Primo, you're a natural.

Okay, mateys,
let's go find Coqui Village.

- Whoa.
- Increíble!

- [gasps]
Terrific tadpoles.

♪ ♪

- Did you see that?
I was born to be a coqui.

Delicioso!

- Tomas has this
coqui thing down.

- Coqui, coqui.

- Kiko's right.
We've gotta hurry

and find the other coquis.

all: Brinca! Brinca! Brinca!

- Oof!
- [laughs]

[gasping]
- Whoa!

♪ ♪

- They're all here.
- So many of them,

- But if they're here,
then why aren't they singing?

[gasping]

- Bienvenidos,
Pirate protectors.

I am the Cacica
of this village.

- I can understand
what you're saying.

- Si, as the chief,
I can speak to any creature.

[laughs] Ven,please,
come into my home.

Oh, sit, drink.

- [slurping] Yum!

Got any flies to go with this?

- Of course,
I have mint, spicy.

- Coqui, coqui.
- Con permiso Cacica.

We're here to find out
why the coquis stops singing.

- The Flower of the Night.
It hasn't bloomed.

- Oh, coqui. Ohh.

- The Flower of the Night?

- La Flor de la Noche.
Síganme.

This is
La Flor de la Noche.

The Earth Mother gifted
La Flor de la Noche

to the island to remind us
we are all connected.

When it blooms, the coqui
call out to her in thanks.

The song of the coquis
is very special to our island.

- So if she doesn't bloom,
then--

- Isla Encanto will never hear
the coquis again.

- [squeals]

- Miren ésto! La Flor de la
Nocheneeds water.

We need to find out where
the water went

or else the coquis
won't sing.

- Flattering flies! The branch
is blocking the water.

- Help me push it, mateys.

[all grunting]

- It's stuck. Now what?

- Hmm. Huh?
[wind rustling]

Mira,the wind is blowing
the leaves just like

the sails of "El Bravo".

I think I have an idea.

We'll need all hands on deck.

both: Aye, aye, Capitán!

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

- Okay, when I say go,
we'll all pull on the leaf

and the wind will sail
the branch downstream.

Are you ready to help us pull?

Uno, dos, tres, jala!

Whoa, it's working!

[groaning]
Uh!

- [gasps]
Oh, no, the vine broke.

- Brinca!

[grunting]

Phew.

all: Coquí coquí!

Coquí coquí!
Coquí coquí!

- Thank you, Pirate protectors.

You've saved the Flower
of the Night.

Please, accept this gift
and come back anytime.

- Wow, look, another medallion!
Gracias,Cacica.

- Coquí coquí!

- Adios! Cuídense!

- Whoa, look at that!
- We're one step closer

to knowing the mystery
of these medallions.

- Yes, we're going to just
have to find more.

- [strums guitar]
It was fun being a coqui,

but I miss my
guitarra.

- Coqui, coqui, coqui!

[coquis singing]

- Another awesome pirate
adventure.

- You mean coqui-venture?
[all laugh]

- We did good, me hearties.

all: Coquisahoy!

- Coqui!

- "Return to Merlandia."

"El Regreso a Merlandia."

I wonder why your sister
invited us back here

to Merlandia.

all: Whoa!

- Stunning stingrays!

It's MerFair!
- [squeaks]

♪ ♪

[gasps]

Big sis! Hi!

- Lorelai, you're early.

- Hola, Anani.

- I can't believe you're
in charge of MerFair.

When we were little,

the fair was always
our favorite day of the year.

We used to love riding
La Estrella.

- Whoa, it's the most
beautiful thing I've ever seen.

- It's been years since
Merlandia threw a MerFair,

but when I became a speaker,

I just knew
I had to bring it back.

Let me show you
what I've got planned.

- You're doing such a great job
as a speaker, Anani.

- What's a speaker again?

- It's the job of the speakers
to listen to

the merpeople's
wants and needs

and keep all
of Merlandia happy.

- That's exactly why I brought
MerFair back.

I want all of Merlandia
to experience our joy

and make happy memories here.

That's why this year we have
more rides, more lights.

It has to be
absolutely perfect.

Just a few more finishing
touches and--

[gasps]
Be right back!

- Ooh!

Here, caballito!

[straining]

Whoa!

Oh, wait, come back!

- It's okay, Tomas,
I'll get him back.

Whoa, boy.
Tranquilo.

You're okay now.

- Gracias,Santi.

- Cecilia, you want some?

Where'd she go?

[bell dings]
- [squeaking]

- Hey, cool.

- Come try my flan. I'm making
our famous family recipe.

What kind is it?

- The secret ingredient is...

[whispering]

- Smells great, Dad.

[whooshing]

[wondrous music]

- Yep, that's it.

- [gasps]
A Kraken ride. I love it.

Everything okay, Anani?.

- Oh, it's just--this is
my first time in charge.

I wanted it to be the best
fair Merlandia has ever seen.

- You'll see, Sis, it's going
to be. I believe in you.

- Slippery sea slugs!

It's almost time
for the grand opening!

Merlandia's chief engineer
wants to see me

over at the power plants.

Oh, no, I hope nothing's wrong.

[electricity crackling]

- You guys have electric eels?
[gasps]

- Yeah, here in Merlandia,

we feed
the eels delicious kelp.

Then they make electricity
that we use to power our homes

to keep the lights on.

- When it's all working
properly, the wheels spins,

and the bulbs all light up.

That's how we know we're
getting power to Merlandia.

- We have to be careful
not to use more power

than the eels can make.

And I worry that the fair
has so many lights,

that the power will go out
in all of Merlandia.

- Maybe we should turn off
some of the lights?

La Estrella is bright enough,
right Anani?

- But this is supposed to be
the most magical,

most memorable MerFair ever.

- I know,
but if all the bulbs go out,

we'll lose power
and all of the lights

will go out in Merlandia.

- Ah, everyone's
going to love it.

I promise, this will be good
for all of Merlandia.

No te preocupes.
It'll be fine.

- [squeaking]

[electricity crackling]

[lively chatter]

- Are you sure we shouldn't
take down some of these lights?

You can always wait
to open MerFair.

- Uh, wait?
Look at all their faces.

We can't disappoint them.
We've got to open.

Bienvenidos!
We did it!

[all cheering]

This is all for you.
I hope you'll enjoy.

I declare MerFair
officially open!

[powering on]
all: Ooh!

[cheers and applause]

both: Yay!

- Whoa!

- [giggles]

[electricity zapping]
[gasping]

- What's happening?
- Oh, no!

[powering down]

[all groaning]

- Mi carnaval!
Oh, it's ruined.

Chief engineer was right,
there were too many lights.

- Don't worry, Anani,
we can fix it.

Come on, mateys,
we gotta get this carnival open

and help bring power back
to all of Merlandia.

Who's with me?

♪ ♪

- [squeaks]

- Oh, no! The wheel is off.

- Mira, the eels have lost
their electricity.

- If the eels
don't have electricity,

then Merlandia doesn't
have electricity.

- We have to find a way
to re-electrify the eels.

- Lots of creatures in the sea
make electricity.

[gasps] That's it!

I know the perfect
pececito.

The puppy fish.

- Puppy fish?

- Yes, its tail makes
electricity

that can recharge the eels.

And we should be able to find
one in the nearest coral reef.

- I know a spot we can try.

- Let's use "La Chispa."

♪ ♪

- Oh, there's so many.

How are we meant
to find the puppy fish?

[fish barks]
- Ohh!

- I think that was it.

- Si, Tomas. Mira!

Its tail is creating
an electrical charge

just like Lorelai said.

- Ay. Increíble.

Ah!
[fish barking]

It's so fast.

- Let's call it
Lightning or Bolt.

- How exactly are we meant
to catch it?

- [squeaks]

[barking]
[squeaks]

[barks]
[squeaks]

- Buen trabajo, Cecilia!

Hmm, it looks like
the puppy fish's tail

is only electric
when it's playing.

- Here, Lightning!
[barks]

- We gotta get that puppy fish
back to the power plants.

Both: Aye, aye, Capitán!

[barking]
- Stop, puppy fish!

- He thinks we're
chasing him for fun.

- Here, puppy fish, come back.
[barks]

[barks]

Where'd he go?

- There!
- No, there.

[barks]

[barking]

- Oh, puppy fish!
Come here, boy!

- [squeaks]

- [gasps]
[barking]

- [squeaking]

- Way to go, Cecelia!

- Now, let's turn
this thing around

and go get those eels charged.

♪ ♪

[barks]

- Here, boy, fetch!
[barks]

[electricity zapping]

[powering on]

[laughter]

- Aw, gracious amigo.

We couldn't
have done it without you.

[barks]

- Wepa!
- We did it!

- Strong work, me hearties,

we got the lights back
for all of Merlandia.

- Now, let's get
back to MerFair.

[lively chatter]

- It's beautiful.

- If I had just listened
in the first place,

this never would have happened.

- No one is perfect, Princessa.
We all make mistakes.

The important thing here
is that you fixed it

and you learned
a valuable lesson.

- Being a good leader means
listening to all the voices.

- That's right.
- This year's MerFair

was always going to be
the best ever

because you planned it.

What do you say? A ride on El
Estrella for old time's sake?

- [chuckles] Let's do it.

[carnival music playing]

♪ ♪

- Look, you can see the whole
fair from up here. Fantastic.

- There's so much.

I guess we could have done
with a few less lights.

- Maybe, like,
one or two of them?

- Or maybe, like, a lot.
[both laugh]

- You know, when I think about
all the MerFairs we went to,

I don't remember the lights.

I just remember
eating seaweed candy

with my sister
on top of El Estrella.

- Another awesome
mer-adventure, me hearties.

[barks]
- [squeaks]
