[Peter] "The Tale of the Bird Trap."

[Peter] Gooseberry bush.

Uh, gooseberry bush.

Aha! Dad's journal says
there's a great spot for gooseberries

right around here.

After all the rain we've had,

those bushes should be gigantic by now.

Just-in-case-pocket, just in case.

But with all these bushes

how will we even know
if there's someone big and scary nearby

who wants to eat us?

That's why I brought this.

Here, you keep a lookout.

-Don't be scared.
-[grunts]

Scared? Me? Nah!

I was just, uh, worried about you guys.

[whimpers]

And you should be worried, little bunny.

Very worried.

[laughs wickedly]

[Peter] Yes!

Right where he said it would be.

Good 'ol Dad.

Hey! Guess what I found?

Gooseberries.

Yeah! Ha-ha!

Oh, I love gooseberries.

They're kind of sweet,
but sour at the same time.

And they go with anything.

Crumbles, pies, juices.

Except, I tried them with radishes once
and that did not work.

Try this.

-[squelching]
-Wow!

[laughs] Let me try.

This is so fun.

Ouchie! Better try again.

Um, weren't you supposed to be
keeping a lookout Benjamin?

Uh-huh, I can do two things at once.

See. [munching]

All clear.

[rabbits laughing]

[laughs wickedly]

-[bird chirping]
-[growls]

Quiet. Shh!

Don't give me away.

That's an alarm call.

Birds only do that
if there's danger nearby.

And I know that for a fact.

[Mr. Tod] Wretched bird.

There is danger nearby!

Come on.

[rabbits giggle]

[both] See you later, Mr. Tod.

Oh, where are you going?

That's not fair.

-[grunts]
-[bird chirping]

-[chirping]
-Huh? What's that?

Danger?

After you.

-[Mr. Tod groans]
-[giggles]

-[humming]
-[bird chirping]

Oh, time to go, Florence.

No! No!

-[grunts]
-[giggles]

Oh! You again!

[bird chirping]

[yawns]

Ha! Gotcha!

See you later, Mr. Tod.

-[laughs]
-[yelps]

-[thuds]
-[Mr. Tod groans]

[all laugh]

[grunts] Oh,
I'll never catch those rabbits

with that noisy bird
warning them the whole time.

Unless…

Oh… [laughs wickedly]

Whoa!

-[thuds]
-[groans]

[chirping]

[laughs]

-Ha! Got you.
-[chirping]

[laughs triumphantly]

Not so chirpy now, are you?

Ow! Ooh!

[groaning]

-I've half a mind eat you for that.
-[chirping]

But no need.

With you tucked away in here,
those rabbits will be easy pickings.

Yes, Peter Rabbit,

how will you know I'm near
without your feathered friend to warn you.

[laughs wickedly]

Having a helpful bird watching out for you
sure does make berry hunting easier.

You know, I can't see that bird anywhere.

It is awfully quiet.

Too quiet.

Mm, maybe it's time to go home.

Relax.

That bird's around here somewhere.

Come on, help me pick these gooseberries.

Wow! Wait till you see
the size of this one.

-[laughs wickedly]
-Whoa!

I've been called a few things in my time,
but never a gooseberry.

-[snarls]
-[all screaming]

[grunts]

[Mr. Tod laughing wickedly]

Why didn't the bird warn us?

-Because my fluffy-brained friend…
-[grunting]

…that bird is safely caged
back in my lair.

[chuckles] Go ahead,

tell me how clever and devious I am.

You better not have hurt that bird.

Or I'll… I'll--

-[muffled grunting]
-Save your breath, Lily Bobtail.

[Peter] How about we make a deal, Mr. Tod?

You let us go and we'll give you
all our gooseberries.

[laughs] Oh, really, Peter Rabbit.

That is rather desperate.

Yeah, you're right.

But do you know the best thing
about gooseberries?

No. What?

They can get pretty messy.

-Ha-ha!
-[shrieking]

Not my jacket! Oh, dear! [shrieks]

-Stop it, you horrible little rabbit.
-[rabbits laugh]

-[Peter] Let's get out of here. Come on.
-[Benjamin] See you later.

Bye-bye.

[grunts] Peter Rabbit!

[bird chirping]

Oops. Didn't we just escape from Mr. Tod?

We have to find a way to free that bird.

Otherwise, we'll never know
when Mr. Tod is creeping up on us.

And we can't let him keep
the poor thing in a cage.

It's just not right.

-[all gasp]
-[Mr. Tod grunts]

[bird chirping]

How am I supposed to hear myself think
with all of this birdy yabbering?

Ooh! Yow!

Stop doing that!

[bird chirping]

Now's our chance.

We better be quiet.

Uh, Peter?

Don't worry, little bird, we'll help you.

And soon you'll be as free as a…
[chuckles] Well, as a bird.

Free to fly through the sky,

and hop through the trees
and soar over the meadow--

[both grunt]

[Mr. Tod] Who's there?

Mm. Bah!

[panting] I was going to
save you, too, Lily, but, um,

Peter kind of got here first.

I just feel so sorry for that poor bird.

Stuck in that cage,
and there's nothing we can do about it.

A good rabbit never gives up.

But first, we need to get Mr. Tod
out of the way.

-[chirping]
-[Mr. Tod] Be quiet.

And I think I know how.

You watch the bird,

I'll be back before you can say
"Peter's problem-popping plan."

Peter's probing povlum pluvem
pluving pleeters…

Oh, I can't say it.

[both laugh]

[vocalizing]

[vocalizing]

Mr. Fisher! Mr. Fisher!

Huh? Oh!

Sorry, Mr. Fisher.

Oh, Peter Rabbit.

[grunts] It is a good thing
I like water, young sir.

Why are you in such a fearful rush?

I need something
that makes a sound like a bird call.

It's an emergency!

Oh, gracious me, what fun!

Peter, you've come to the right place.

Oh, yes… [in sing-song voice]
…a musical challenge. Hm!

Drum.

-No.
-What?

-Oh!
-I know.

Violin.

Hmm. Not bad, but no.

[Peter yelps in pain]

Peter, I believe
I have found just the thing.

Oh.

Uh, great.

[Benjamin] A whistle?

That was your big idea?

This is no ordinary whistle.

-Listen.
-[mimics bird call]

[chirping]

The bird seems to like it.

But you know who won't like it?

[all laugh]

A short rest and then it's off to hunt
those slippery rabbits once again.

I still have
their little warning bird, after all.

[bird call]

Whoa! [thuds]

-[bird chirps]
-What?

-[mimicking bird call]
-[bird chirping]

Not another noisy bird.

Oh, what if that one
warns the rabbits too?

Time to catch another feathered nuisance.

You get that cage open… [chuckles]
…and we'll keep Mr. Tod busy.

[mimicking bird call]

Aha!

[Lily and Benjamin grunting]

-We have got to be quick.
-[grunts]

I don't know
how long Peter can fool Mr. Tod.

Here, birdie, birdie.

I've got a present for you.

[mimicking bird call]

Gotcha!

Ow! [groans]

-[chuckles softly]
-[mimicking bird call]

Aha!

Got you. [grunts]

Oh, where's it gone?

-[bird call]
-Huh? Argh.

Oh, no! My best trousers!

[Peter chuckles]

[sighs]

[Lily] Oh.

[Lily grunts]

Still not high enough.

Look, I made a staircase.

-Um, Benjamin…
-[bird chirping]

-Whoa!
-Benjamin!

Ouchie. I'm okay.

We need to come at this
from a whole different direction.

Ready.

[nervously] Rabbits are brave.
Rabbits are brave.

You can do it, Benjamin. I'll help you.

[both grunting]

[Benjamin grunts]

[chirping happily]

-Yeah!
-Yay!

We did it! Whoa!

Ooh.

I'm okay.

[chirps]

[mimicking birdcall]

[chuckles]

[growls]

What's this?

Hmm. It seems someone's been playing
a trick on me.

[gasps] And someone's going to be sorry.

Ha! That silly fox fell for it.

-Hmm. [laughs wickedly]
-[bird chirping]

[Mr. Tod] What?

-[bird chirps]
-[gasps] Mm.

Oh, not again!

[growls]

[yelping]

[chuckles]

-Thank you.
-[chirps]

-Come on, Peter.
-Let's go.

[Peter] Mm. My tummy can't wait
to taste your mom's gooseberry crumble.

Yeah. All that bird rescuing
has given me an appetite.

Mm. Save me some.
There's one more thing I want to do.

Are you taking
Mr. Fisher's bird caller back?

Something like that.

[grunting]

[sighs] My poor head.

At least I don't have to listen
to any more detestable bird song.

-[bird chirping]
-Oh, be quiet.

[mimicking bird call]

[bird chirps]

Please be quite.

-[bird chirping]
-Please.

[chuckles]

[Mr. Tod] Oh, be quiet!
