You see Maya over there on the left?

She'’s in "help mode" right now.

You can always tell by the look she gets on her face.

[Sobbing]

[Paco caws]

It'’s not the end of the world, Chrissy.

Yes, it is, Maya.

It is the end of the world.

[Sobbing]

Oh, pobrecita.

Chrissy, I'’m sure lots of people

have written Enrique fan letters and not gotten a response.

Enrique'’s way too busy doing all that pop star stuff.

His song, "Don'’t You Know It, Babe?"

used to be my favorite,

and now every time I hear it, I just want to cry.

[Chrissy sobbing]

[Imitating Chrissy sobbing]

!¡Tengo una idea!

I know what'’ll cheer you up, Chrissy.

No, it'’s no use.

I just want one birthday present this year.

¿Un regalo?

Si. All I wanted was a letter from Enrique,

and I'’m just not going to get it.

[Sobbing]

Enrique?

Is it really you?

Perdoname por no escribir, Chrissy.

I have not responded to your letters.

How can I possibly make it up to you?

Well, you could start by writing me back.

Or I could do even better.

Here'’s a special version of "Don'’t You Know It, Babe?"

just for you.

¿Para mi?

Just for you.

MAYA: Just for you, Chrissy.

Whenever I have troubles, nothing does the trick

like a brand-new lip gloss flavor.

Would you like, um, bubblegum or watermelon?

[Sobbing]

Watermelon is Enrique'’s favorite food.

[Chrissy giggles]

[Sobbing]

Ay yi yi.

Got any more ideas?

Don'’t worry, Maggie.

All we have to do is take Chrissy'’s mind off of Enrique

and she'’ll go right back to her cheerful self.

Ta-da!

Wow!

[Sobbing]

Ta--ta--ta--ta-da.

[Sobbing]

Hmm...

Oh, Maya, he'’s so cute!

I borrowed him from the pet store.

What'’s his name?

"Enrique"?

Oh...

thanks, but no thanks.

Ta-da!

Enrique loves ponies.

He owns of them.

Ay yi yi!

Ay. I'’ve tried everything, papi.

But nothing I do will take Chrissy'’s mind off Enrique.

Do you mean Enrique the singer?

Is there any other Enrique?

Well, I don'’t know.

But I just read that somebody with that name

will be performing in concert this Friday.

¿Este viernes?

As in this Friday?

Is there any other "This Friday"?

!¡Eso es!

This Friday is Chrissy'’s birthday,

the same day as Enrique'’s concert.

You see, that'’s the look

right there.

I'’ve seen it so many times, I can draw it from memory.

And when my sister gets that look...

lock the doors and close the windows.

Hurricane Maya is on the way.

Thanks for bringing us down here, papi!

Por supuesto.

Now let'’s go get those tickets!

I can'’t believe

I'’m actually going to see Enrique live in concert.

Trust me, Chrissy, this is going to be

your best birthday present ever.

Yes! Yes!

Oh, no!

Look at this line.

We'’ll never get tickets.

Oh, sure, we will.

I bet this line will move really quickly.

PACO: Boring. Sheesh.

Hey! Where are you going?

Sorry. Sold out.

Oh, no, this can'’t be.

We'’ve been waiting here for hours.

Tough luck, girls. That was my last pair.

But you don'’t understand.

My friend Chrissy here is Enrique'’s biggest fan.

Tell her, Chrissy!

I'’m Enrique's biggest fan!

See?

I'’ve seen about a thousand people today.

And every one was Enrique'’s biggest fan.

But Chrissy knows all the words to "Don'’t You Know It, Babe?"

by heart, even the dance remix!

Look, it'’s just that Enrique'’s a very popular singer.

There'’s nothing I can do.

I'’m sorry, kids.

[Paco caws softly]

I feel terrible, Miguel.

Now that Chrissy can'’t go to Enrique'’s concert,

she'’s more unhappy than ever.

It'’s all my fault.

Oh, come on, Maya.

Don'’t you think you're being a little hard on yourself?

All Chrissy wanted for a birthday present

was for Enrique to write her back.

Now because of me,

Chrissy'’s going to have her worst birthday ever.

Si. Her worst birthday ever.

And who asked you?

OK, so do something else for her birthday,

like throw her a surprise party or something,

una fiesta.

Ah. !¡Eso es!

I just got the most incredible idea, Miguel.

What is it?

You ready for this?

I'’ll throw Chrissy a surprise birthday party!

And this idea just came to you, huh,

out of nowhere?

!¡Que perfecto!

A surprise party!

There will be dancing and singing.

And I'’ll even ask Abuela to make arroz con leche,

Chrissy'’s favorite!

Her mom makes it for her all the time.

Ah, Miguel, you'’re the best.

For some reason, whenever I talk to you...

I get the most incredible ideas.

Do you think it'’s because we'’re twins?

You think?

Aaaaahhh!

[Yelling]

Whoa!

Whoa.

[Paco squawking]

Thanks, everyone, for helping me

decorate for the party.

PACO: Decorar. Me encanto decorar.

Tito, the candy'’s supposed to go into the piñata,

not into your mouth.

Sorry, Maya.

I'’m just so excited for the party!

You can have dessert later, Tito.

Ah, everything looks great!

Who-oa!

Whoa!

MIGUEL: Oh, no! Aah!

[Squawking]

Ooh!

Maya, how'’s the party planning coming along?

Great! The invitations are out.

The decorating is almost done,

and I just got the entertainment.

Now all that'’s left is for us to finish the cake.

Si, el pastel.

It'’s going to be delicious.

Would you like to help me decorate it?

Oh, gracias, Abuelita.

This is going to be the best surprise party ever!

I can'’t wait to see the look on Chrissy'’s face.

Hello! I'’m home!

¿Què es eso?

"Dearest Chrissy, happy birthday, sweetheart.

"I stood in line for hours to get these. We'’ll go tonight!

Love, papi."

Enrique tickets?!

Oh, yippee!

I get to see Enrique! I can'’t believe it!

Oh, I love my life.

Look, Abuelita!

I finished decorating the cake.

Mm, el pastel.

Not for you.

Oh.

It'’s beautiful, mija.

Why don'’t you help me with the arroz con leche?

Mm! Arroz con leche.

That'’s not for you either.

Oh.

[Squawking]

Here. Help me fill these cups.

This is going to be a great party.

You'’re right.

Do you think Chrissy has any idea

you'’re planning this party for her?

No. There'’s no way she knows.

[Both chuckle]

TITO: Mm, delicioso.

MAYA: Huh?

[Burp]

Perdon.

Tito, what have you done?

You'’re not supposed to eat the cake before the party.

You said I could eat dessert later.

I meant during the party!Oops.

[Burp]

Perdon.

!¡Què liìo!

Miguel, what happened?

Ah, we had a little problem decorating, but don'’t worry.

We'’re back on track...

!¡Decorar!

Sort of.

[Sarcastically] Ah, this is just great.

Tito eats the cake. Now this.

Huh! What'’s next?

Maya, the band you hired for Chrissy'’s party is on the phone.

They have another engagement.

What?!

Si, mija. They say they have to cancel.

This can'’t be happening.

Everything was going perfectly, and now it'’s all falling apart.

We can'’t have a party without music.

You could always call Enrique and ask him to perform.

Now, don'’t joke, Miguel.

Your sister has worked very hard putting this party together.

No, papi.

Miguel is right.

We can ask Enrique to perform

at Chrissy'’s party.

It'’s the perfect idea.

Well, no, Maya, I-- I was just kidding...

What would I do without you, Miguel?

You just saved Chrissy'’s surprise party.

Maya, this is crazy.

Enrique'’s a huge mega-star.

If Chrissy couldn'’t even get an answer from his fan club,

what makes you think he'’d perform at her party?

Because you and I are going to find Enrique

and ask him to, that'’s why.

Oh, no.

Yo te conozco, Maya.

Come on, Miguel.

It'’s the perfect present.

And after all, this was your idea.

I was joking.

We don'’t even know where Enrique is staying.

And even if we did, mama and papi

would never let us go there by ourselves.

No. Not by ourselves.

But if someone were to take us...

And who is going to take us to some fancy hotel

to try to get in to see one of the biggest stars in the whole wide world?

ABUELA: The balloons are here.

Abuelita, what are you doing?

Checking Enrique'’s fan sites for the hotel where he'’s staying.

Aha! Here we go.

Enrique'’s home site.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Bingo! He'’s staying at the Hotel Dominico.

You really found it?

And look at this!

In his biography, it says that Enrique and I were born

in the same town in Mexico.

!¡Què interesante!

Abuelita just got the same look on her face you get

when you have a big idea.

Scary!

And look at this!

When he was a boy, he used to have a pet goat.

Maya, Miguel...

tengo una idea.

Not you, too.

We'’re going to meet Enrique!

Oh, Miguel,

Chrissy will never believe this!

Happy birthday!

Oh, Maggie,

guess what.

My father surprised me

with tickets to see Enrique for my birthday.

You'’re going to see Enrique tonight?

Can you believe it?

Papi stood in line for hours!

But--but that means you'’re going to miss

Maya'’s big surprise pa...

What did you say?

Nothing. I didn'’t say anything.

All I'’m supposed to do is walk you to Maya'’s house.

That'’s it, my part is done.

I'’ll be leaving now.

Not so fast.

You said something about a surprise party. I heard you.

No, I said, uh...

"surf rise" party

for when the surf rises really high

and all the surfers go surfing.

No big deal. It'’s not until next month anyway.

Is Maya planning a surprise party for me?

Oh, Chrissy,

I wasn'’t supposed to say anything,

but it'’s too late now.

Maya planned this huge birthday party for you

so you'’d take your mind off Enrique.

But if you'’re going to the concert...

Oh, Maya will be so disappointed.

This is the sweetest thing that Maya'’s ever done for me.

Do you think I should skip this concert?

What? Chrissy, this is Enrique!

You'’ve been waiting for this day since-- since forever!

Oh, Maggie, what am I going to do?

Baa!

Here you go. One goat as promised.

You'’re the best, papi!

How were you able to find a goat so quickly?

Hijo, give your papi some credit.

I am in the pet business, you know?

Come on, kids.

We'’d better get a move on if we want to catch Enrique.

Be careful. He'’s a feisty one.

Buena suerte.

[Kids talking excitedly]

Folks, please, for the millionth time,

settle down.

You will all get to see Enrique soon enough.

[Goat bleating]

[Ringing]

OK, señora, do you mind telling me what this is all about?

Por supuesto.

These are my grandchildren Maya and Miguel.

We'’re here to see Enrique.

Right. What'’s with the goat?

Well, you see, señor,

Enrique and I are from the same town in Mexico,

and we want to remind him of his hometown.

With a goat? !¡Siì!

Enrique used to have a favorite pet goat when he was a boy.

Señora, with all due respect,

until Enrique leaves for his concert,

the hotel lobby is off limits except for guests.

And as far as the goat goes, forget about it.

I must warn you, señor.

Without something to remind Enrique of home, he could get nervous.

And if he gets nervous,

there'’s a chance he might not go on stage tonight.

[Kids talking excitedly]

Settle down, everyone! Settle down!

Now, I am sorry,

but there is no way that goat is getting past this rope.

[Miguel and Maya groaning]

Oh, no!

Don'’t just stand there, get him!

Stop that goat! Stop that goat!

Don'’t let anyone else past this rope!

MIGUEL: Stop him!

[Kids speaking excitedly]

!¡Ay!

[Miguel yells]

It'’s stopping on !

MAYA: In here! Quick!

[Goat bleating]

Dear Emma...thank you for your fan letter.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to write back,

but I get a lot of fan mail,

and I try to answer every letter personally.

You go that way!

There he is!

Nooo!

Aha!

I got you now!

Get that goat!

[Maya and Miguel speaking excitedly]

[Goat bleating and bell ringing]

How is an international teen idol

supposed to return fan mail with this kind of noise?

Excuse me.

People...perdonenme...

Hello?!

It'’s him! Enrique!

[Baa]

Señor Enrique, I am very sorry.

These crazy fans of yours brought a goat into the hotel,

and it got loose.

They'’ll be leaving right away this minute.

A goat? Do you know

I used to have a pet goat when I was a boy?

Siì, en Aguascalientes.

That'’s where my abuela grew up.

Really? You come from Aguascalientes?

Born and raised.

We thought the goat might remind you of your childhood.

And help you relax before your big concert tonight.

Well, it sure does!

!¡Gracias!

You are very kind.

Please give your names to my people

and we will send you my latest CD.

Wow! Thanks!

Gracias, Enrique.

But, um, actually,

I came to give you this letter.

It'’s from my friend Chrissy.

She'’s written you every day this year, but you never wrote back.

You'’ll have to forgive me.

But let me show you something.

You see, I have a lot of fan mail to answer.

And with my busy schedule,

it often takes me a long time to respond.

Wow.

You need your own personal Zip code.

But please tell Chrissy I will try to make it up to her.

Listen, Enrique, um, sir.

I'’m throwing Chrissy a birthday party tonight.

Won'’t you please, please, please

come sing "Happy Birthday" to her? Oh, pretty please?

It'’ll only take a few minutes.

!¡Ay! You'’re a very sweet girl and a good friend.

Unfortunately, I have to get to my concert.

Oh.

I'’m sorry.

But please wish Chrissy a happy birthday for me.

And having a friend like you is much more valuable

than a letter from a singer any day.

Yeah...siì, señor.

Hey, and thanks again for bringing the goat by.

Now if you will excuse me, I should start to get ready.

Wait!

Yes?

I know you'’re too busy to come to the party.

But if you could at least read Chrissy'’s letter,

it would mean a lot to me.

That I can promise.

He'’s a good boy.

And to think, I was this close.

Uh, cheer up, Maya. At least you tried.

But now Chrissy'’s party is going to be a big flop.

Maggie'’s going to bring her by in just a few minutes,

and there'’s no cake, no music, no decorations,

and no Enrique.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

[Toot]

But how did you...

Let'’s just say a little birdie told me.

Tweet, tweet?

This is the nicest thing anyone'’s ever done for me, Maya.

Thank you!

Maya, there'’s something you should know.

Chrissy'’s father got her tickets

to see Enrique'’s concert tonight.

But when she found out about your party,

she decided to come here instead.

Oh, Chrissy, you didn'’t need to do that!

I wanted to, Maya.

And besides, now my papi can take my mom.

She'’s Enrique's second biggest fan.

Ooh! Ooh!Ooh!

Can I cut the cake, ¿por favor?

Please, please, please?

I don'’t even know what to wish for.

What more can I ask for?

[Doorbell rings]

Can I help you?

Yes. I'’m looking for someone named Chrissy.

I believe today is her birthday.

Chrissy, someone'’s here to see you.

I'’m sorry. What did you say your name was?

Enrique.

Someone named Enri...

Enrique?

Enrique? Enrique!

KIDS: Enrique!

[Kids speaking excitedly]

No way!

What brings you to our home?

I was invited by that young lady.

But you said you had to get to your concert.

I do.

But I thought I'’d say a quick happy birthday first.

Now, which one of you is Chrissy?

Please don'’t be shy.

You write very well for someone your age.

Gracias.

I'’m so sorry

I haven'’t responded to your letters, Chrissy.

How about if I sing a little song just for you?

Will you, w-w-will you?

On one condition.

What?

You bring all your friends

to my concert tonight.

Yay... Yay... Hooray...

MIGUEL, VOICE-OVER: Who would have thought

a goat could get us into an Enrique concert?
