[SINGING] It's a beautiful
day in this neighborhood,

a beautiful day for a
neighbor, would you be mine?

Could you be mine?

It's a neighborly day in this
beautywood, a neighborly day

for a beauty, would you be mine?

Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have
a neighbor just like you.

I've always wanted to live
in a neighborhood with you,

so let's make the most
of this beautiful day.

Beautiful day.

Since we're together, we might
as well say, would you be mine,

could you be mine?

Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
won't you please,

please won't you be my neighbor?

-It is a beautiful day.

It doesn't matter what
it's like outside,

it can be a
beautiful day inside.

Mm-hmm.

Some young neighbors of
mine made some drawings

of our neighborhood trolley,
and I'd like you to see them.

I want you to see
how different people

draw the very same thing.

Here are some of them.

There's a trolley.

Another trolley.

Another trolley.

How would you draw the trolley?

Since each person is somewhat
different from everyone else

in the world, each
one of us would

draw the trolley
in a different way.

Isn't that wonderful?

Have you ever made a
drawing of something

and given it to someone
just because you wanted to?

Just because you
loved that person?

You know, there are
many different ways

of saying I love you.

In fact, I like to
think about times

when I've seen people showing
their love for others.

There are many ways
to say I love you.

Look at these fish.

Oh, it's as if they're dancing.

Taking good care of your pets
is a way of saying I love you,

and of course taking good
care of your friends,

and yourself, too.

[KNOCK ON DOOR]

Let's see who's at the door.

[HUMMING]

-Mr. McFeeley!

Hey, Mr. McFeeley!

-Speedy delivery to you!

I've just completed
working on something.

-What is it?

-Well, I've been working
on it ever since I knew

you were interested in the arts.

-Well, is it something
that you've made?

-It is a tape.
-A videotape?

-A videotape.
-And you actually made this?

-I made it.

I thought you would like to
see a lot of different artists

all on one tape.

-Well, I would.

Do you have time to
watch it with me?

-I do.
We'll put it in Picture Picture.

-Very good.

Good for you, Mr. McFeeley.

-I thought you would enjoy it.

-What a pleasure.

Well, let's just watch
Mr. McFeeley's video tape.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

[CHANTING]

[PLAYING VIOLIN]

-Why, that video is a work of
art in itself, Mr. McFeeley.

-Well, I like making
all kinds of pictures.

I did this with a video camera.

-Oh, it's just
beautiful, the way

you move all of those
forms of art together.

-Well, i thought you'd enjoy it.

-I certainly did.

-I have more deliveries to do
right now, but before I go,

I want you to always remember--
-Yeah?

[SINGING] If there's anything
you want, if there's anything

you need, McFeeley's
delivery brings

it to you here with speed.

Yes, our speedy delivery
is a speedy delivery,

a speedy delivery to you.
Speedy delivery!

-Oh, I love your
song, Mr. McFeeley.

Do you think that our neighbor
and I could sing it with you?

-Oh, sure!
-All right.

-OK, here we go.

-Let's sing it
with Mr. McFeeley.

[SINGING] If there's anything
you want, if there's anything

you need, McFeeley's
delivery brings

it to you here with speed.

Yes, our speedy delivery
is a speedy delivery,

speedy delivery to you.
Speedy delivery!

See you around the neighborhood!

-Thank you, Mr. McFeeley.

-You're quite welcome!

Bye-bye!
-Congratulations.

-Thank you!

-Mr. McFeeley is a wonderful
friend and a wonderful artist.

Wasn't that marvelous
how he wove together

all of those different
arts in his film?

Some people surprise
us in this life.

I think it's important to look
for what people are able to do,

and once you find
it, appreciate it.

Let's have some make-believe.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Hi, Trolley.

Last time, we found out
that Lady Elaine was hurting

people's feelings because
her feelings had been hurt.

And when people started
saying kind things to her,

she started being kind herself.

So now let's see if everyone's
ready for the Royal Arts

Festival in the Neighborhood
of Make-Believe.

Trolley?

All right.

-Oh, yes, Trolley, it's
almost time to begin.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Well, sure, have a look around.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Oh, there's the one
quilt Sarah made,

and, oh, there's
Prince Tuesday's,

and Daniel made that mobile.

By the way, Trolley--

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Have you seen Lady Elaine?

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Well, then, I need you
to help me find her.

As the saying goes,
you can't have

an arts festival
without the judge.

You go one way, and
I'll go this way.

We've got to find her.

OK, Trolley.

-Yes, I tell you, Mayor Maggie,
you're a work of art yourself.

-Well, I made this smock
and I made this hat,

so I'm glad if you
think I look artistic.

-You surely do.

-Um, did you make
anything for the festival?

-Oh, yes.

Right here under the cloth.

I was just about to
take it to the castle.

-Hmm.
What is it?

-It's an artistic chair.

-A chair?

-Want to take its cover off?

-Yes.

-Yep.

-Why, it's beautiful!

-Yep.

A festival rocket, and
if you press that button,

you'll see something
else about it.

That one.
That's it.

-It rocks by itself!

-Yes.

It's for a tiny person
who's very tired.

-A tiny, tired person.

-Correct.

-Well, I'm a big person,
and I'm not tired,

but I still like looking at it.

-OK.

When the festival's over,
it'll be yours, Mayor Maggie!

-You mean that?

-Sure!

I love to give things
to people who like them.

-You are such a
generous person, Corny.

I wish I had something
I could give to you.

-Just the way you're
eyes lit up when

you saw my chair is
gift enough for me.

-Excuse me, please!

-Oh!

Betty Oakenack Templeton.

-That's my name and
I'm proud of it.

And I'm on a search, as
you can probably tell.

-What are you searching for?

-For your neighbor and my
friend Lady Elaine Fairchild.

-You mean, Lady
Elaine isn't here?

-Nobody's seen her
since last time.

-Oh, I wonder what she's doing?

-All she said to
me was that she was

going to be doing the judging.

-Well, I'll keep looking.

You know that's what
friends are good for,

looking for you when
they can't find you.

I always say, you never
know when your friend

might show up and
just delight you.

You know what I mean.

-Yes, I guess we do.

-I guess so.

-Well, see you all.

-OK, goodbye Miss Templeton.

Goodbye.

Um, isn't that something.

-Yes, it is.
[TRUMPET FANFARE]

-Oh.

-Sounds as if the king
might be arriving.

-Yes, well, I'll see
you over at the castle.

Will you take the chair
to the festival for me?

-Of course, Corny.

And thanks again.

-Oh, you're welcome.

-Yes.

Wonderful.

Oh, is that Westwood
Mayor arriving?

-Correct as usual, King Friday.

-Ah, you certainly are fit
for a festival, Mayor Maggie.

-May I say the
same for you, sire?

-You may.

-Is that little
chair your offering?

-It was made by
Cornflake S. Pecially,

but he wants me to have
it after the festival.

-Yes.
-See how it works?

-Ooh.

Look at it going back and forth.

Yes.

Lovely.
Yes.

Yes.

It looks like it might
be for a tiny person.

-A tiny, tired person.
-Of course.

-Hi there, Maggie.

-Oh, hello!

-The castle looks beautiful.

-Is that Neighbor
Aber, I presume?

-Correct as usual, King Friday.

-Do you have your
festival entry?

-I do, sire.

Do you want it to be
demonstrated inside or out?

-It makes no difference.

The festival is
everywhere today.

As you can see.

-Oh, hi--

-Betty Oakenack
Templeton, I presume?

-I guess one could say, correct
as usual, King Friday, not,

of course, correct as always,
King Friday, because no one,

not even a king,
is always correct.

-I see.

-At any rate, I
have some good news.

-What is it?

-I've located Lainey.

She's sorry she's late, but
she'll be here with her entry

in just to minute.

-Well, that's a relief.
-Yes, it is.

-I wonder what her entry is?

-All right, no need
to wonder any longer.

-Lady Elaine
Fairchild, I presume?

-Of course, Friday.

Now, I want you all to take
a look at my masterpiece.

-Her masterpiece?

-A masterpiece?

-Oh, look.

-Well, well, Fairchild.

-Let me help you with
that, Lady Elaine.

-Can you help me, toots?
Oh, thanks.

-You're welcome.

-Well, there it is.

-Oh, look at that!

-Oh, my, it's beautiful!

Cousin Mary, oh--

-I've been working
for it for days.

-Oh.
-I can see that in Hula Mouse.

-I see you, Mayor Maggie.

-There I am, and Lady Aberlin.

There you are, Neighbor Aber!

-Yeah, it's pictures
of everybody here.

-All in one.

-You're right.

And look how easy
it is to find me!

-Oh, it surely is, Lady Elaine.

-We could find
you anytime, Lady.

-Well, because of my big nose?

-Oh, I didn't say that.

-But I did.

All of a sudden I'm
liking my big nose.

It's distinctive.

And what's more,
ladies and gentlemen,

as judge of this
festival, I've decided

to award that sketch
masterpiece of mine first prize.

-First prize?

-But Lady Elaine, you haven't
seen the other entries.

-Right.
-Well, what else is there?

-Well, this tiny
rocket by Corny.

-Well, let me see it.

Pretty good.

A first prize for Corny.

-Oh!

-And the sand sculpture.

What about our Westwood
sand sculpture?

-Well, now, there.

I look at it with
different eyes.

A first prize for Westwood.

-First prize?

How can you do that?

-Yes, first prize.

-Ah, and my new royal robes?

-Oh, a first prize
for you, Friday.

-I marvel at what I'm
hearing right now.

-Don't we all?

-Yes.

-Oh, and what about
our newest entry?

[TROLLEY BELL]

-A descending trolley.

-Oh, it's so beautiful.

-Do you like it?

-Oh, Neighbor Aber,
it's wonderful.

-I thought you'd enjoy it.

-It's a grand entry.

Oh, it's something
special, really.

-A descending trolley.

-What do you think?

-That is definitely
another first prize.

-Oh, another first prize.

-OK , now.

Everybody's waiting
in the festival room.

-Waiting for the prizes, I bet.

-It's hard to wait.

-Well, everybody's going to
get a first prize from me.

-Oh!

-Lainey, what's making
you so generous, hon?

-I guess it's myself, Betty.

I used to hate it,
and now I don't.

So that makes things
easier all around.

-Oh, I guess so.

-Good for you, Lady Elaine.

-And so, ladies and
gentlemen, to the RAF Room

for the rest of the
Royal Arts Festival!

Come along, inside.

-I'll be in in a minute.

-All right.
I'll see you then.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Yes, this little trolley
does look a lot like you.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Oh, everyone else is in the
Royal Arts Festival room,

and Lady Elaine is giving
first prize to everybody.

[TROLLEY BELL]

-That's for sure.

Bye for now!

[TROLLEY BELL]

-What was that?

[TROLLEY BELL]

-Oh, thank you.

So Lady Elaine is giving
first prizes to everybody.

Probably because she's
feeling so good about herself.

I was just thinking you and
your family and your friends

could have your
own arts festival

and include whatever
you like to do,

such as drawing, or
painting, or dancing,

or dressing up, or
singing, or cooking.

There are many ways of saying
who you are and how you feel.

Ways that can be so helpful.

Ways that don't hurt
yourself or anybody else.

You know, that's
how you can tell

when you're grown up inside.

You're sure that what
you're planning and doing

are things that can be a real
help to you and your neighbor.

Mm-hmm.

I'm proud of you, you know that?

I hope you do.

[SINGING] I'm proud of
you, I'm proud of you.

I hope that you're
as proud as I am.

Proud of you, I'm
proud of you, I

hope that you are
proud of you too.

I am.

You might just make your
own trolley drawing.

It'll be different from all
of these, but it'll be yours,

and that's what's
important about it.

I like being your
television neighbor.

[SINGING] It's such a good
feeling to know you're alive,

it's such a happy feeling,
you're growing inside,

and when you wake
up ready to say,

I think I'll make
a snappy new day.

It's such a good feeling,
a very good feeling,

the feeling you know that I'll
be back when the week is new,

and I'll have more
ideas for you.

And you'll have things
you'll want to talk about.

I will too.

Be back next time.
Goodbye!
