ALMA: "Beatbox Big Time"

[playing music]

[music starts over]

ALMA: Hey, who's playing that music?

I think Mami's outside...

ALMA: Huh.

They keep playing the same thing...

but why?

Dun, dun, dun!

I've gotta figure this out.

JUNIOR: [roar humming to the music]

ALMA: [giggles]

[playing music]

ALMA: Ah-Ha!

KIDS: Ah!

EDDIE: Oh hi, Alma!

BECKA: You scared us!

ALMA: Sorry! I was just trying to figure out...

who was playing the music!

EDDIE: Oh, yeah.

Tía Lulú let us use her music room so we can practice.

ALMA: It sounded great but...

aren't you tired of playing the same thing...

over and over and over again?

BECKA: Nah...

the more we play it, the better we get!

EDDIE: Yeah, when we first started playing the song,

it sounded like this...

[bad playing]

EDDIE: [giggle] That's what we thought too!

BECKA: But we've done it so many times...

that now we play it like this...

[playing music]

ALMA: Wow! That was totally amazing!

You should play that song for my Mami and Papi!

EDDIE: Then we should invite my parents and Abuelo too!

BECKA: And my mom!

EDDIE: Do you want to play with us, Alma?

ALMA: Really?!

Sweet!

BECKA: Yeah, we could use someone to keep the b*at...

ALMA: Ohh! I can beatbox!

I've done it with Papi a bunch of times.

Check it out!

[beatboxing Old McDonald]

BECKA: Whoa. EDDIE: Okay, sweet!

BECKA: You're soooo good!

Beatboxing is just what our song needs!

EDDIE: Yeah, this is going to be epic!

Congratulations, you're in the band!

ALMA: Woo-hoo!

Now, let's go find everyone so we can play for them!

BECKA: Not yet.

I want to go over it a few more times.

EDDIE: Me too. Ready to practice, Alma?

ALMA: No, thanks! I don't need to practice.

EDDIE: Uh, are you sure?

We've never played together before.

ALMA: I'm sure.

I know how the song goes.

And I'm already great at beatboxing!

EDDIE: Uh... Oookay.

Becka and I are gonna practice together for a little while.

ALMA: I think it's show time!

I'll go get them.

ALMA: Hey there, everybody's waiting.

Are you ready?

BECKA: Almost.

We were thinking that we start out playing at the same time.

Then I do my solo by myself...

EDDIE: Then I do my solo, then you.

BECKA: And then we'll finish with all of us playing...

at the same time again.

EDDIE: Got it?

ALMA: Yep! So, it goes... same time.

Then just Becka.

Just Eddie. Just me.

Then same time.

EDDIE: That's it.

But since this is our first time playing this song together,

maybe we should practice it real quick?
