But I guess André's not coming?
Aww... Too bad. He loves the beach.
ANDREÉ: Oh, I'm coming!
BETO: i¡Qué padre!
BETO: Hey! Nice board!
ANDREÉ: Thanks! I call him Mr. Fins. And I'm André.
ALMA: This is Beto. He just moved here from San Diego.
ANDREÉ: Whoa! That's super far away!
BETO: Yup. So whatcha doing with Mr. Fins today?
ALMA: We're going to the beach!
BETO: Seriously?! I used to go to the beach all the time in San Diego!
It looked like this. Super tall palm trees,
and super soft sand!
ANDREÉ: Whooaa! Mr. Fins would love that.
BETO: [chuckles] But my favorite was the lady who sold elotes on the beach!
ANDREÉ: What are elotes?
BETO: Corn on the cob.
ANDREÉ: Mmm! My favorite!
ALMA: Corn?! I love corn!
BETO: Then you'd love elotes.
They're roasted. And you add lime, mayo, queso fresco,
and sprinkle on some chile powder... Mmmm, so good.
ALMA: Okay. I just ate breakfast,
but I could eat one of those right now!
BETO: I miss my elotes and my beach.
ANDREÉ: Hmm, maybe you wouldn't miss your beach so much
if you went to ours?
ALMA: Yeah! You could swim all day,
build sandcastles...
ANDREÉ: And eat hot dogs!
BETO: [gasp] Like real New York City hotdogs?

I've never taken a train to the beach before!
In San Diego, we drove everywhere.
ALMA: Here, you can pretty much go everywhere on the subway and buses.
ANDREÉ: And everyone rides them!

ALMA: Welcome to our Bronx beach!

BETO: Uh... Is that the end of the beach?
ANDREÉ: Yeah, you can see the whole beach from here.
BETO: It's kinda small. I guess that's cool.
At least we're at the beach.
