BOB: It looks like, um...

a zebra...

[ chuckles]

SNOOK: That's no zebra, Bob.

It's a bee!

She was in Snook's fur!

BOTH: Ew! Weird.

SNOOK: No, it's okay.

Actually I'm used to it.

Us sloths have so much fur,

that often insects like to nestle in and live there.

dAs a sloth, I don't mind at all

Hmm! But this bee is really ticklish.

[ buzzing]

Oh, really?

That's okay.

[ buzzing]

No, I didn't mind at all.

How do you kno what it's saying?

Oh, I understand and speak bee.

[ buzzing]

[ buzzing]

BOB: Ooh!

I always like to meet a new, uh, insect.

And of course Smooch and Winslow.

BOTH: Charmed, I'm sure.

BOB: What's your name,

[ bee buzzes]

That's a nice name for a... bee.

Uh, excuse me, bee, but what do you think of "Stripey"?

[ bee buzzes]

Cool, then "Stripey" it is.

This is my friend Stripey.

Don't eat her!

[ Stripey buzzes]

Oh, hi, Stripey.

Now, why would I eat a lovely little bee like Stripey.

Don't you remember?

I prefer nuts and seeds.

But, Bob, I didn't think anteaters liked bees.

Well, I do.

Stripey's my new best friend.

[ buzzes]

dAnd she's going to live here, uh, in the World Tree.

that bees don't always stay in one place.

They fly all over.

Oh, gee, I hope Bob learns about bees

and how they fly from place to place.

The word is that Stripey has a new pad.

I gave her a warm little spot

in my cozy little home.

She just went out to get some exercise.

[ bees buzzing]

Oh, yeah, she got here a while ago.

They've been looking for her.

[ bees buzz]

Bob, they say it's time for her migration.

Mi-mi... what?

Yeah, that's what bees do every season.

They move to a warmer climate

when it turns cold.

[ Bees buzz "migration"]

Yeah, they say they always have to move

where the flowers are blooming.

[ bees buzz]

Oh, okay, you want to know where Stripey is.

Well, Bob, where did you last see her?

Gosh, I wouldn't really know.

[ bees buzz]

But I don't want to lose Stripey to migration.

Oh, Bob, but they're her friends,

[ buzzes boredly]

[ bees buzzing happily]

[ bees buzz "migration"]

Hey, Bob.

Stripey's leaving!

Bob, maybe it's not as bad as you think.

But my best friend is... [ sniffles] leaving.

Well, why don't we visit Madge.

I'm sure she can help us out.

Sometimes creatures live their whole lives in one place,

but other creatures move around

to different places.

Stripey's gone... forever?

Not exactly.

There's more to migration than just going away.

Really?

Dears, migration is a pattern.

Many bees return to the same spot over and over again.

You mean, uh... Stripey could come back?

Yeah, they're coming back.

Indeed.

[ buzzes]

Stripey! Did you hear the good news?

You're coming back!

Um... uh, if you want, of course.

[ buzzes]

I know you can't stay.

I'm going to miss you a lot.

[ buzzing]

Oh, well, it looks like

it's time for the bees to go.

Do you think that sounds like Smooch and Winslow?

SMOOCH: It's not new-- it's impossible.

I'm learning to fly.

She's just jealous that I'm flying and she's not.

I have no clue what you're talking about.

Could you just slow it down for a minute here?

Remember, I'm a sloth.

I am adding flying to all the other cool things I can do.

Well, Winslow, I understand-- flying sounds great.

But we all have different ways we get around, and flying...

That's right-- I'll fly, and Smooch won't!

As if...

Well, actually, Winslow,

it's all about the different ways our bodies are built.

It's called-- are you ready for this?--

physiology.

Physiology.

It's how our bodies are made.

Phys-i-ol-ogy.

Take me, for instance.

I'm built to be very good at hanging upside down.

And you two are great at climbing

and swinging from vines.

Everybody's got their own way.

♪ But sliding in slow motion just works the best for me ♪

Although I did have a great-uncle once

who fell a lot, but I think

he just couldn't get the hang of sleeping upside down.

Well, really, there are so many things I do that are special.

It's all my hard work and dedication.

Well, I can learn to fly with or without you.

Me and Burdette are having a flying contest.

With a bird that actually flies?

I can't wait to be the first flying marmoset.

BURDETTE: Well,

but let's move on to the tougher stuff.

and around.

[ both grunting]

Oh... [ panting]

Okay, I admit it.

I can't do it!

I can't fly-- I can't.

All I've gotten is a bunch of bruises.

-[ Wartz yelling] -What's that noise?

It's Wartz.

What was he doing down there?

Winslow, of course you can't fly.

Hmm, where have I heard that before?

Oh, right-- I told you!

You know, birds can fly because their bones are hollow,

which makes them lighter,

but monkeys need strong, solid bones for climbing.

And we're way better than birds at climbing trees.

I'll never fly like a bird?

Wow, I'm really sorry, Winslow.

You worked really hard.

Maybe you can't fly like Burdette,

but you can fly like a monkey.

Huh?

SMOOCH and WINSLOW: Whee!

[ giggling]

SMOOCH: Yeah!

Now, that's what I call flying!

Hey, Burdette!

Come fly with us!

[ all whooping gleefully]

There are so many cool animals in the big, big world

and so many great facts to know about them.

One way to find out more is to read.

Go to your local library

and get a book about your favorite animal.

Smooch and Winslow are very amazing animals.

They're marmosets.

A marmoset is a kind of monkey.

Hey, did you know that marmosets like to live

with other members of their family,

like their brothers and sisters?

[ chuckling]

No wonder Smooch and Winslow have so much fun

sharing a house... uh, except when Winslow leaves his stuff

on the floor, of course.

[ chuckling]

One of the coolest animals I know is my friend

Bob the anteater.

Anteaters are great.

Do you know they sleep as much as hours every day?

I mean, I love to nap myself, but that's a lotof sleep.

Oh, and they have a great sense of smell.

Hmm... I wonder what slls Bob likes best.
