In this story, we'll catch the alphabet,

where all our fairy tale friends live!

- Oh, boy! Today we have music class in school!

Come on! - Woof! Woof, woof!

Woof! Woof, woof! - Come on!

- Woof, woof, woof! - Hee-hee-hee!

- Whyatt! Over here!

- Whoa. Look at all of these instruments.

[Kazoo] - All right, everyone.

For music class today, I'm going to let you pick

your very own instrument to play.

And then, we're going to play our instruments

in our very own Storybrook Village band!

- Awesome! - Wow!

♪♪

- This recorder makes such a light, pretty sound.

I want to play a recorder in the band!

- I'll play the...

♪♪

...xylophone in the band!

- The cymbals!

♪♪ Whoa!

[Laughing]

- Hmm.

Uh... um...

Double drats!

- Red, what's wrong?

- I can't decide what instrument I want to play.

I need to pick an instrument so I can be in the band.

- This is a super big problem.

And a super big problem needs us, the Super Readers!

We need to call the rest of the Super Readers!

Call them with me! Say, "Calling all Super Readers!"

- [Kids]: Calling all Super Readers!

- To the Book Club! - [Kids]: To the Book Club!

- Come on, to the Book Club!

Whyatt here!

- Woof! Woof!

- P is for Pig!

- Red Riding Hood rollin' in!

- Princess Pea at your service!

[Sniffing]

- And you! Say your name!

Great! We're all here.

Together we will solve Red's problem! Let's go!

[Computer beeping]

OK, Red, state your problem!

- In music class, we're going to play in a band.

I need to choose an instrument,

but I can't decide which instrument to play.

- Wow, tough one. - Uh-oh... - Oh, no!

- What instrument can I play in our band?

- Super question, Red.

And when we have a question, we look...

- [All]: In a book!

- Which book should we look in?

- Peas and carrots, carrots and peas,

book come out, please, please, please!

[Magical chiming]

- Let's read the title of this book.

Monty's Adventures in Music Town.

We know what to do! We need to jump into this book...

and find the answer to Red's question!

First, we look for Super Letters.

And then, put them in our Super Duper...

Computer!

Super Duper Computer, how many Super Letters do we need?

Hmm. In this story, we need five Super Letters,

- "Monty the Monster wanted to be in the band, too."

- "Monty needed to choose an instrument to play."

- Now, just choose an instrument,

and then we can all play together.

- Aww, I don't know what instrument I want to play.

- And that, Super Readers, is why we are in this book!

Monty and Red both don't know

what instruments they want to play!

- Let's go find that fluffy monster and help him out.

- Hmm. Oooh! - Woof, woof, woof!

Monster! Woof! Woof!

- Huh? Aww! Hee-hee-hee-hee!

[Laughing]

- Hi, Monty the Monster! We're the Super Readers

and we're here to help!

- Super Readers!

I need an instrument to play for the Music Town Funtime Band.

Can you help me? - Of course we can.

- Let's go look for an instrument for you to play.

- Let's roll!

- Ooooh! - Whoa!

- This is Woodwind Woodlands. Neat-o, huh?

- Cool! What's a woodwind?

- Woof!

Woofster to the Rescue!

With my doggie dictionary I can tell you what any word means!

"Woodwind" means: an instrument with a little piece of wood in the mouthpiece.

It makes its sound when you blow air into it.

♪♪

"Woodwind."

Now we know what it means! Woof-de-doo!

Give your tail a wag!

- Woodwinds sound wonderful!

Monty, you could play a woodwind instrument in the band!

- Oooh, how will I choose which woodwind instrument to play?

- Alpha Pig to the rescue!

With my Lucky Letter Lasso I can help you pick

a woodwind instrument to play in the band.

Hmm, I bet Monty might like the clarinet!

"Clarinet" begins with a "C".

- [Kids]: There! - There's the "C"!

"C" for clarinet.

Here you go.

- Well, if you're not sure...

maybe you can try the flute! "Flute" begins with an "F".

- [Kids]: There! - There's the "F"!

Try this flute, Monty.

- Oh, nyah, ooh, this flute is fancy--a little TOO fancy!

- OK, then,

let's try the oboe.

"Oboe" begins with an "O".

Which word begins with an "O"?

- [Kids]: There! - There's the "O"!

"O" for oboe!

- This oboe is out of sight!

I want to play the oboe in the band!

- Lickety letters! We found a woodwind instrument

for Monty to play in the band!

Let's give ourselves a big thumbs up.

- You see Super Letters? Which ones?

- [Kids]: V! E! - V, E! Music to my ears! Ha-ha!

Let's put them in our Super Duper...

- [Super Why and kids]: Computer!

- Three more Super Letters and then we'll get

our Super Story Answer!

- Ahem!

Guys! I'm gonna play the... oboe!

- Mmm-mm! That's groovy.

Now we can practice our song.

[Awful oboe playing]

- Oh... No.

Stop! Stop! Stop! Stop! STOOOOOOOP!

[Monkey keeps playing] - Ooh, sorry.

- My big fluffy monster fingers are making it hard to play.

I think I want to choose another instrument!

- OK, Monty. But try to get a groove on!

You're going to miss our song! - Oh, I will get a groove on!

Oh, I need to find another instrument.

[String instruments playing]

- Ooh, I hear more instruments to pick from.

Let's roll!

- Look, look, look! We're in String Grove

where all the instruments have strings! Get it?

- Cool! - I love it!

- Here is a guitar with strings.

♪♪ Ooh, yeah!

This is a violin with strings.

♪♪ Ooooh!

- Woof! Monty, you play a violin with a bow!

It's a thin piece of wood with a string. See?

♪♪

And look.

A cello! - Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy!

I'd really like to play this cello!

Because it's sooooo big, like me!

♪♪ - Oh dear!

There's no bow for the cello. If you want to play the cello,

you need a bigger bow. But don't worry,

I can make you one with my wand!

Presto! [Magical chiming]

Split pea! I didn't make you a bow;

I made it snow! Hee-hee! Oopsie!

- Oh, no, no, no. We need a bow!

- Wonder Red to the rescue!

With my Wonder Words Basket I can change the "snow"

to a "bow" so Monty can play the cello.

"Snow" is an "ow" word. I love "ow" words.

It's time to rhyme!

♪ Ow, grow, row ♪ ♪ Wonderific, you're terrific ♪

♪ Crow, glow, slow ♪ ♪ Wonderific, you're terrific ♪

- [Kids]: B! - B!

What sound does "B" make?

- [Kids]: Buh! - Buh. And this says "ow."

Hmm, what word is this?

- [Kids]: Bow! - Bow!

Here you go, Monty!

- Thanks, Red! - No problem!

Wonderific! You are terrific. We changed the "snow" to "bow"

and now Monty can play the cello!

- A bow is just what I need!

♪♪ - Woof, woof, woof!

- Ooooh! - That was splendid!

- Thanks! I made it up myself.

- You see a Super Letter? Which one?

- [Kids]: O!

- O! Ha-ha!

We need to put it in our Super Duper...

- [Super Why and Kids]: Computer!

- Two more Super Letters, and then we'll get

our Super Story Answer!

Nice work, Super Readers!

- Look, guys!

I picked a string instrument to play in the band.

It's a cello! - The cello!

That rocks my world. Let's play!

And a one, and a two, and a one, two, three, four!

♪♪ [Awful cello playing]

- Oh, dear! Mmm!

If I just put my... hand...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, guys, guys. Stop!

[Monkey keeps playing]

- Sorry.

- My big fluffy monster fingers are getting in the way again!

I've changed my mind. I want to choose another instrument.

- OK, Monty. But get a-- - Groove on. I know!

Percussion Playground!

- Oooh! - Oooh! - So cool!

- Woof, woof! Percussion instruments are

instruments that you play by hitting or shaking them.

Like drums! ♪♪

- I love drums!

- Woof, woof! Rock and roll!

- Oh-ho-ho! Drums seem fun!

♪♪ Heh-heh. Loud.

♪♪ Really loud!

♪♪ Really, really loud!

- Cool, Monty. You picked the drums!

And just in time!

We're ready to perform our song!

And a one, and a two-- - Ah! No! They're TOO loud!

I don't want to play the drums!

But that's what it says in my story!

"Monty wants to play drums in the band."

Super Readers, what can I do?

[Fireworks]

- [Princess Pea]: Because Monty found the perfect instrument for the band: his voice!
