♪♪ Here we go Time to have some fun ♪

♪ Here comes Bali and his friends ♪

♪ Bali, arms up in the air

♪ Bali, spinning round and round ♪

♪ Bali, always likes to dance

♪ And jumps to the sky

♪ Bali, calls out to his dad

♪ Bali, jumps into his arms

♪ Gives his mom a kiss

♪ And shouts, I'm happy!

♪ Bali, arms up in the air

♪ Bali, spinning round and round ♪

♪ Bali, always likes to dance

♪ And jumps to the sky

♪ Bali, with Kikou by his side ♪

♪ Takes him everywhere

♪ Music makes him dance

♪ Bali loves his friends ♪

- And so the little monster went to bed.

And soon, the tired little monster yawned a monster yawn...

[ Yawning ]

- and then fell fast asleep.

- Mommy, please read a little more. I'm not tired yet.

- No, it's time you went to sleep, young man.

- Hmm.

- We'll hear more about the little monster's adventures

tomorrow night.

Heh heh!

- Mommy, you won't forget to--

- Turn on your night light?

No, I won't, Bali.

- Kikou doesn't like the dark. Ha ha!

- Night night.

- Good night, Mommy.

Good night, Dad!

- Good night, Bali!

- Hee hee! Good night, Lea!

[ Baby talk ]

- Night, Bali!

- And good night to you too, Kikou.

[ Truck driving ]

What was that, Kikou?

I know what that is.

It's the garbage truck.

It's OK.

It's gone.

[ Crying ]

No need to worry, Kikou. It's just Lea crying.

Mommy will see she's OK.

[ Crying ]

You see? Just like I said.

- Shh...

There there. Mommy's here.

[ Crying ]

Oh...

My poor little Lea.

Did that noisy truck wake you?

- Noisy! Wake Lea!

- Maybe Mommy should read you a story. That'll help you sleep.

This is the story of the little monster.

- Hmm...

♪ Saxophone

Kikou, what's that noise?

♪ ♪

It's OK. it's Madame Olga playing her saxophone.

[ Horse neighing ]

That sounded like a wild horse,

but there are no horses around here!

[ Horse neighing ]

It must be on TV.

It's very noisy tonight.

Oh!

[ Gasping ]

[ Car driving by ]

- Grr! Grr!

- Spooky!

Ooh! What was that?

It doesn't light up any more, Kikou!

- Grr! Grr!

- There it is again, Kikou!

- Grr! Grr!, said the little monster once again.

I don't want to go to bed yet.

Grr!

- You know, that noise doesn't sound friendly.

- Grr! Grr!

Grr! Grr!

[ Car driving by ]

[ Knocking ]

- Who's there?

- It's me, the little monster.

- Uh... A real monster?

What are you doing here?

- I'm not doing anything. I'm just passing through, you know?

[ Gasp ]

- Wow!

I know you! My mommy reads me stories about you.

But I never thought I'd really meet you.

- I only come out when it's dark.

- Do you like the dark?

- Don't you?

- Uh, no. Not us.

Don't you get scared?

- Ha ha!

Scared of what?

You're not scared of me, are you?

Oh, I don't want you to be scared.

- Uh, we're not.

It's just sometimes me and Kikou, we...

We do get a little scared.

You hear strange noises at night.

[ Wind blowing ]

[ Gasp ]

And you see dark shadows!

- Oh, and I bet you can't sleep at night. Am I right?

But there's really nothing to be frightened of, Bali.

And especially not me! Heh heh!

- I'm not.

You're funny! Heh heh!

- Here.

There are lots of good things to discover about the dark.

There's mystery, and adventure,

and lots of beautiful things to see.

- Really?

- Oh yeah! Watch!

- Ha ha!

♪ Is somebody watching me?

♪ Funny shadows everywhere

♪ But me and monster we don't care ♪

♪ I like the breeze in the night ♪

♪ The stars and the moon shining bright ♪

♪ The shapes and the shadows I see ♪

♪ I know they're smiling at me

♪ The creaking and cracking I hear ♪

♪ It's OK There's nothing to fear ♪

♪ Dancing shadows of the night

♪ They tell me that everything's all right ♪

♪ Whenever I turn off the light ♪

♪ And hear a noise that I don't like ♪

♪ I yell out: Get out of here! ♪

♪ Because now I want to sleep! ♪♪

- Ha ha!

Hmm...

Wow!

- Well, Bali? Are you ready for the show?

Dancing shadows can be very beautiful!

And lots of fun too!

And now, before your very eyes

the spectacular shadow bird of the night!

- Hee hee!

- Ha ha!

Look!

- A rabbit! Ha ha!

And a snake!

A horse!

Ha! Ha!

Now it's my turn! I've got a shape I can make too!

Watch!

- Woo! An airplane!

Well done, Bali! That's great!

- [Both]: Ha ha!

- This is fun! Ha ha!

[ Yawning ]

- Well, I think it's about time I was leaving now, Bali.

It was great to meet you.

But even little monsters like me need our sleep, you know.

- Oh...

- Goodbye, Bali.

And remember, don't be scared of the dark anymore, OK?

- OK, little monster.

- Aren't you asleep, Bali? Oh!

- No, Mommy.

- Did that silly garbage truck wake you too?

- Yeah, it did.

Oh, and I heard Lea crying. Is she OK?

- Yeah. She's just fine, honey.

It just took her a little while to get to sleep.

So I had to read our favourite book to her.

You know, the one about the little monster.

- Oh...

- Oh, look. Your night light is out.

Want me to fix it?

- No, it's OK.

- Are you sure?

- Mmm... yeah. I kind of like the noises at night.

And all the dancing shadows and lights.

[ Car driving by ]

- Yeah. They are pretty, I guess.

Does this mean no more night light for you anymore, Bali?

- Nuh-uh.

We can give it to Lea. Do you think she'd like it?

- Yes, she would. She'd like that very much.

And you know, I'm so proud of you, Bali.

You're becoming such a big boy.

My big boy who's not afraid of the dark anymore.

Good night, sweetie.

Hey, that's two good night kisses I've given you tonight.

- Ha ha! Yeah!

Good night, Mommy.

- Good night. Sweet dreams.

- Ta-da!

Ladies and gentlemen, here they are!

I told your mom I'd fold and deliver these invitations.

- For what? Is there going to be a party, Dad?

It'll be a break from your puzzle and it'll help me.

I'll have to climb all floors.

- Wow! You said it was going to be a tough job.

- Yes, and I'd like it done

by the time your mom and Lea get back from shopping.

- I've never seen that bag before.

- Well, it's one that used to belong to Papi.

- It did? But it's huge!

[ Grunting ]

- It's a mountaineer's backpack.

You know, your Papi used to love climbing mountains.

- Why did he like to climb mountains so much?

Didn't he get tired?

- Well yeah, I'm sure he did, Bali.

But he thought it was worth the effort.

He'd always say, Nothing comes without hard work.

And when he reached the top of the mountain,

Papi said it was like being on top of the world!

- Wow!

- And you know, he always wanted to meet a real live yeti.

- Like the one in my puzzle?

- Yep! Although no one knows if yetis really exist.

- But they must do if Papi believed in them.

- Ha ha!

Hold this open for me, would you please?

- Oh boy, oh boy, Dad! There are a lot of invitations!

Oh, heave!

- Why don't I carry the bag,

and you deliver the invitations, yeah?

- OK. Can Kikou come too?

- Sure he can.

- And we can pretend we're going to climb

right to the top of a mountain, like Papi used to.

It'll be great! Ha ha!

- That's a good idea.

But if we're going up a mountain

we'll need our warmest sweaters.

- Ha ha!

Yeah!

This'll be fun!

Oh, Dad!

- Here you go.

- Wow!

- Mountaineer!

- Hey Dad, we'll need helmets too!

- Gee, we don't have any mountaineering helmets, Bali.

- Hey, I know! Why don't we use our bicycle helmets?

- That's a good idea!

- Yeah!

- Now we look like real mountaineers!

- Just like Papi!

- You ready for the big climb? - Yep!

- Let's go! We'll start at the ground floor.

First step, Bali.

To safely reach the legendary first floor!

[ Buzzer ]

- Hi, Mr. Bouquet!

- Hello!

- Here's a party invitation for you and all your family.

Here you go. It's for the neighbourhood party.

- Thank you very much, Bali.

- Ha ha!

- See you soon!

- Bye, Mr. Bouquet!

- Oh...

- Phew, we made it to the fifth floor. Just one more to go.

- Oh, this is real tough, Dad.

I'm exhausted!

- Me too!

[ Buzzer ]

- Hello, Bali!

- Hi, Madame Olga. Here it is!

- Why, thank you very much.

- Me and my dad are on an adventure.

We have to deliver all the intiva--

I mean, invitations

and climb right to the top of the mountain!

- Oh my! then you do have quite a climb ahead of you, don't you?

- Hmm...

- I wonder if some of my famous homemade juice

might help you get there?

Come on in. - Mmm-hmm!

- Hey Dad, there's still so many left.

- You're right. Maybe I did too many invitations.

Oh, thanks!

- Thank you!

Oh, it's beautiful!

I think we're lost, Kikou.

[ Gasp ]

Wonder where they lead to?

- Hello, young man.

- Um, excuse me but, aren't you a yeti?

And welcome to my mountain.

And what a fine snowy day it is today!

- So Papi was right. Yetis do exist.

Could you help us, please?

We're lost and the snow's covered the path home.

- Well yes, that can easily happen in a snowstorm.

But don't worry. I think I can help you find your way home.

From the top of the mountain, you can see for miles and miles.

I'm quite sure you can see your way home from up there.

- It's a long way up, Mr. Yeti.

- Mr. Yeti! Ha ha!

No need to stand on ceremony.

Why don't you call me George?

Come on, follow me.

The climbing's half the fun, you know.

- Hey George, wait for us!

Come on now. Hurry, Kikou!

Ah!

I don't know about you, Kikou,

but I'm starting to get really tired!

[ Kikou squeaking ]

- Well, climbing mountains can be hard work.

But I know a trick that makes things easier.

- Oh, you do?

- Yes, whenever the climbing gets too difficult,

or I feel too tired to carry on,

then guess what I do?

I just sing a happy song!

- But how can a song help to get you up a mountain?

- Well, let's give it a try and you'll see!

- Good luck, mountaineers!

- We'll need it. My legs are still tired.

- Think that'll help us get to the top of the mountain?

- Well, let's give it a try!

- Yeah, the top of the mountain!

- Yes, but there's no view.

It's not much of a mountain if it doesn't have a view.

Unless... I think I have an idea!

Follow me, I've got a surprise for you.

- Wow! Just look at all those stairs that we climbed!

Where are you going?

- Follow me and you'll see!

- Oh boy! Now we're really at the top!

Wow! It's beautiful!

You can see the whole city!

- This is your mom's favourite place.

- It was tough, but I'm so glad I helped you

with the deliveries, Dad.

- Difficult things can still be fun to do sometimes, Bali.

Just like your jigsaw puzzle.

- Yeah. I can't wait to finish it!

- But first we must take a picture for Mom and Lea.

- We can be just like Papi on top of the mountain!
