- So, can we leave you two big kids alone

without you getting into trouble?

- [Both]: Yeah, yeah!

- You're sure you won't come to the supermarket?

- Well...

- Yeah, we're sure, Dad.

- We'll see you later.

- And behave!

- Bye-bye!

- Have a nice time, OK?

- Yahoo!

[ Chuckling ]

- Well, how great is this?

Just the two of us, huh, Bali?

- Super, Papi!

- OK, then. Close your eyes and count to !

- One...

Two...

Three...

Four...

Five!

Wow!

- There you go!

My captain's hat now belongs to you!

- Oh, thanks, Papi! Yippee!

I'm the ship's captain! Ha ha!

Can you lift me up to the mirror?

I wanna see!

Wow!

Yes, sir!

Oh! Cool, don't you think?

[ Laughing ]

Oh Papi, please!

Could you tell me a story

about your captain's hat?

- Hmm!

Well, it was a terrible, stormy night, you see, Bali.

Yes, it was a horrible night!

With huge, crashing waves that were as big as this!

- Oh, wow!

Like this! Whoosh, whoosh!

- And the seagulls cried out, caught in the wind!

[ Cawing ]

Suddenly, in those giant waves, I see two arms waving!

And I could hear someone

shouting: Help me! Help me!

And far away, in those churning seas,

I see a tiny black spot!

And I realize it's a small boat overturned by the storm!

- So what did you do next?

- Well, underneath my raincoat hood,

I had on my captain's hat!

And wearing such a hat as this always makes you feel braver!

So I grabbed hold of some rope, and I tied it to the ship's bow!

And then I shouted:

I'm coming!

And then I took off my raincoat,

and dived headfirst into the water!

And so I swam, and the rescue took some time!

Pulling myself and that rope

through those crashing waves, Bali!

- Oh, wow!

- Unh!

And finally, having dragged the sailor back on deck,

he then thanked me,

and I was the happiest captain to sail the seas,

thanks to this hat!

[ Kiss ]

- Wow!

My Papi's the best captain in the whole world!

Hey, you know what?

I wanna be a great captain like you!

- Well, with this hat,

I'm sure one day you will be, Bali!

- Oh!

- In the meantime,

it's a lovely day!

How about a walk in the park?

- Great! Can I play ship's captain in the pond, Papi?

- Of course!

- And can Tito and Tamara come too?

Please, Papi?

- Sure they can. Why not?

The more the merrier!

- The first to the slide gets to be captain!

- But Tito, you didn't even say go!

- Ha ha! Catch me if you can!

- I'll catch you!

- Come on, guys!

- OK, follow me!

You climb to the top of the mast

and tell me what you see!

- OK!

- Tamara, you can fix the sails!

- Hey, I'm the captain!

I got here first, Bali!

- And you cheated!

- You did too!

- Yeah, and I don't cheat!

And I've got the hat!

Which means that I'm the captain!

- I don't care! I'm not playing anymore!

- Yippee!

- Ahoy there, shipmates!

I spy boats on the horizon!

[ All laughing ]

- Hello!

- Hello, kids!

- Could I have that blue boat, please?

- That's not fair! I saw the blue boat first!

- I'm sorry, boys, but I only have one blue boat, I'm afraid.

- But Tito, I want the blue one,

because my captain's hat is blue!

- Oh yeah? Well, I want the blue one,

because blue's my favourite colour!

- Well, anyway, I'm the captain, so I get to choose!

- I'm tired of you always being the captain, Bali.

You're not even a real one!

- Grr! But I got the hat!

- Wait up, Bali!

Why don't I take the blue boat, OK?

- [Both]: Oh! OK, Tamara.

- Good! That was quick thinking, Tamara!

Well done. Great idea!

- I'll be captain of the red boat!

- OK, then. I'll take the yellow one!

- So it's settled.

- Yeah, I like them!

[ Lea cooing ]

- Well Bali, don't you think your Mom was pretty

when she was just ?

- Very, very pretty!

Wow! What big flowers!

- Yes, your mother always loved flowers.

Oh, you remember.

She loved those big yellow sunflowers you grew.

- Oh yeah! I like those sunny flowers too.

- [Both]: Ha ha ha!

- Hey, can I give Mom some sunny flowers?

- Flower! Flower!

- I don't think we'll have time to get to the florist and back,

because pretty soon--

- Yeah, Mom'll be home.

Couldn't I give her some flowers from the garden, Papili?

- That's a nice idea.

But take a look for yourself, Bali.

The garden's bare at this time of the year.

- Oh. So that means no flowers for Mom.

Papili, could we plant some seeds

and grow our own sunny flowers?

- That's a great idea.

Let's see if there are any seeds in my shed.

- Make sure you wear your coats.

- We will.

Ha ha ha!

- Good morning, Mr. Scarecrow.

- Who's that, Papili?

- This is my scarecrow.

He's here to watch over the seeds

that I plant in the garden.

And stop the birds from eating them all.

- Ah!

Uh...

- Come along, Bali.

Let's see what we can find in my potting shed.

- Wow!

So much stuff!

I guess it takes a lot to make flowers grow.

What's this thing called, Papili?

- That thing is a garden hoe.

- A garden hoe!

Ha ha! That's funny!

What do you use it for, Papili?

- I use it to dig out weeds.

- What about this box? What's inside this box, Papili?

- That Bali, is what we're looking for. It's my seed box.

- Wow! The whole box?

So what seeds are these?

- What you have there are radish seeds, Bali.

Now let me see, we have plenty of vegetable seeds.

Lettuce, tomatoes...

Ah, here are the flower seeds.

- Yeah!

- All we do now is we find just the right kind of seeds.

- There are so many to choose from!

- Yes, but luckily there is a picture of the flower

on each packet.

Let's take a look.

We have blue flowers...

- Let me look. Can I look, Papili?

- All right, Bali.

Here...

- Let's take a look.

Red? No.

Yeah, some sunny flowers!

- Well done, Bali!

Now open the packet carefully

and you can see all the seeds inside,

ready for us to plant.

- Look! The seeds are ever so small, Papili.

- They are.

But you wait, by summer they'll all grow

into beautiful tall flowers.

- The summer? But Mom's coming home today.

I won't have any sunny flowers to give her.

- Oh Bali, no. I'm so sorry.

[ Water spraying ]

[ Kikou squeaking ]

- Now, little seed...

I'll plant you right here.

Right, Kikou. You can water it.

Oh!

Hey!

Whoa!

Oh wow! Did you see that, Kikou?

Whoa! We're still going!

[ Kikou squeaking ]

A garden in the clouds!

Giant butterflies!

Whoa!

Wow! What a super cool garden!

[ Squeaking ]

Hey, Mr. Gardener! Hello!

Maybe he's asleep.

- Woo, there!

- Oh, I think he's the scarecrow!

Now don't be afraid, Kikou.

- Oh! Yes, that's me all right!

The scary old scarecrow

who will scare just about anybody that needs scaring.

Hey, I'm real sorry if I scared you.

I thought you were a bird trying to steal seeds from the garden.

Oh! If there are no seeds left in the garden

then there will be no vegetables and no flowers will grow.

- That would be sad. I like your garden very much.

- Well, thanks. Thanks a lot, Mr...?

- Oh, my name is Bali. And this is Kikou.

- Well, I'm Spud. Spud the scarecrow.

I'm pleased to meet you.

- Do you have to stand like that all day?

- Yeah, sure I do!

I stand here every day waiting to scare any birds away.

- But don't you get bored just standing?

- Me? Get bored in the garden?

Never!

You can't get bored

because there's always something fun happening all the time

if you just take the time to look around you.

[ Birds chirping ]

- Mmm, apples!

Oh, yum!

- Yum yum, indeed.

And I'd love to get us some apples

but if I did the birds would eat all the seeds.

- We could watch. Right, Kikou?
