PINKALICIOUS: "Drawing Noses."

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover): I love drawing, but some things are harder to draw than others.

Are you almost done?

I really wanna see!

Almost, Peter.

Just one tiny thing...

Here goes...

Oh, that's not right!

How about...

Aw!

You finished!

Great!

Huh?

I don't have a smudge for a nose.

(giggling): I'm sorry, Peter.

Of course you don't.

(sighs)

Noses are so hard to draw.

I know what you mean.

But how can I draw a face if I can't draw a nose?

Lots of people have trouble drawing noses.

Even artists?

(gasps)

Thanks, Peter, you just gave me a pinkatastic idea!

You're welcome-- wait, where are you going?

To talk to an artist about drawing noses.

Mommy, is it okay if I go see Mrs. Plum?

Oh, I think that's a great idea Pinkalicious.

I'm sure she can give you some tips.

Oh!

Hello, Pinkalicious!

Hi, Mrs. Plum!

You're a real artist-- maybe you can help me?

I can certainly try.

What's on your mind?

How do I draw a nose?

Well, you..

I mean, you...

You know what, that's a very good question!

(both laugh)

I prefer to paint flowers, personally,

and they don't have noses.

(giggling)

(sniffing)

It would be funny if they did.

They could smell me back!

(giggling)

Oh!

I do know someone who might be able to help though--

Dame Stella Nostrella. Who's that?

An artist friend of mine who loves drawing noses.

She's in town for the nose art exhibition

at the Pinkville Museum.

The nose what?

Oh, exhibition.

That's when there's a whole lot of art about the same thing.

In this case, noses.

Wow, this looks perfect!

Can we go see it?

That's just what I was planning to do!

I'll give your mom a call and let her know where we're going.

(giggles)

Ooh!

Wow!

Look at all these noses!

That one's huge.

Ooh!

This one is called "A Dozen Red Noses."

Hm...

Oh yes, I can see why.

This nose is all square-ish.

(gasps) And this one's all melty.

Wow!

Did your friend draw all these?

Not all of them, but quite a few.

Dame Nostrella is one of

the most famous nose artists in the world.

Nobody knows noses like she knows noses.

Let's find her.

Hey Rafael, hey Jasmine.

Oh, hi.

Hi, Pinkalicious.

Hi, Mrs. Plum.

Oh, hello.

Is... that a nose?

NOSTRELLA: What do you think?

(gasps)

Stella!

Richanda!

What a wonderful exhibit!

(chuckling): Thanks!

I'm so glad you came to see my noses.

And who are your young friends?

MRS. PLUM: This is Rafael and Jasmine.

Hi. Hi.

And I'm Pinkalicious.

An artist's name if ever I heard one.

I want to be an artist but I'm having trouble drawing noses.

See?

Well, you've come to the right place.

It just so happens I'm about to teach

a special nose-drawing class.

It's called... (clears throat)

"How to Draw a Nose."

Would you like to take the class?

(gasps)

I'd love to, Dame Nostrella!

Me, too.

(chuckling): My noses could definitely use some improving, Stella.

Then what are we waiting for?

Behold the beauty!

The majesty!

The wonder of the nose!

They're all so different.

Yes!

Everyone's nose is different

and there are lots of different ways to draw them.

Look at this one.

That nose looks so realistic.

♪ ♪

Yes!

I'm going to try and draw one just like it.

That's it, Rafael, express yourself!

Feel the nosey-ness!

(sighs)

No, no, much too big.

Jasmine!

What a powerful drawing!

(groans) Too curvy.

If you're having trouble,

try looking at a nose in a whole new way.

Just turn the paper upside down

and you'll get a different perspective.

Noses are amazing any way you look at them.

♪ ♪

Too... piggy.

(groans) I'll never get it right.

(Nostrella clapping)

Finish off now, everyone,

and then we can admire each other's noses.

(gasps)

Finished!

In that case, maybe you can start us off, Pinkalicious.

Show us your nose.

(gasps) Hm...

Um...

It's a picture of me...

sniffing a flower...

...with my nose.

It's a very unusual approach, but...

Where's the nose?

I tried!

I really did!

But I... I just can't draw noses!

Pinkalicious!

I'm sorry I ran out, Dame Nostrella.

I understand.

Drawing noses can be frustrating.

I tried so hard, but it wouldn't come out right!

Right?

Here.

I want to show you something, Pinkalicious.

Take a look at this nose.

And this one.

And... this one.

They're all different.

Oh!

They're all different!

Every nose is different.

Which means there's no right way to draw them.

So there's no wrong way either.

I can draw a nose any way I want.

How do I draw ears?

(laughing)

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover): There's no right or wrong way to draw noses--

or ears for that matter.

You just have to give it a try.

KIDS: That's artalicious!

BOY: We are drawing!

♪ ♪

GIRL: Some people did portraits of each other...

(giggling)

...and some people did plants.

BOY: We're making our own style.

BOY : I'm trying to make it so it doesn't look too realistic

but it kind of looks more cartoony.

♪ ♪

I'm drawing the same plant but a little different.

I'm using my imagination to add things.

I wanted to make it more fun.

♪ ♪

BOY : They looked completely different.

Two different styles.

I like both drawings.

I'm doing a portrait of Megan

and she's doing a portrait of me.

♪ ♪

MEGAN: This is a drawing of my friend

and it doesn't have to be perfect.

I'm using a pencil.

I like the pencil because it makes thin lines

and the charcoal is good for when you're making thick lines.

BOY: This is charcoal.

It's darker than the pencil.

I'm using the side of the charcoal.

It fills in a bigger area.

And I didn't make it look exactly the same

as this plant right here.

♪ ♪

Keep practicing and practicing and then once you get,

like, used to it that's basically your style of drawing.

However you draw is your style.

♪ ♪

PINKALICIOUS: "Pinkalicious on Ice."

PINKALICIOUS (voiceover): Jasmine and I are coming up with our figure skating routine

for The Great Skate.

Okay, one more time from the top.

One... two... three...

Around and around...

Then...

Then cross...

and back together.

Now all we need is a move for the big finish.

Hmm...

How about this?

♪ ♪

What do you think?

(gasps) That sparkle spin!

Could you do it again?

Sure!

♪ ♪

Yes, that's the perfect thing for our big finale!

How do you do it?

Hmm, I don't know...

I just kind of do it.

Can you show me how?

Well, I just go like this.

Okay, let me try.

♪ ♪

Oof!

Well... not like that.

You okay?

Yeah.

But let me try that again.

Whoa!

Yikes!

(groans)

Why can't I get it?!

What if you just try following along with me?

You can just copy the way I do it.

Good idea.

I start with this leg...

Oh, and I bring my arms up like this.

And I never look down 'cause that makes me dizzy.

Then I just do the move.

Whoa! Whoa!

(laughing)

Well, we could always do a different move.

But the sparkle spin looks so beautiful.

We have to do it!

I can get it, I just need more practice.

I'm going to try again.

Mr. Crunk, I didn't know you could skate like that.

Well, I do enjoy getting out on the ice.

Wow!

How did you do that spin move?

We're trying to do a move like that for The Great Skate.

Let's see.

Well, I start with a lunge.

I shift my weight forward onto one leg,

bending my knee like so...

And then, I swing my other leg around like this...

(grunts)

And that takes me into my spin.

Jasmine, that's exactly what you do

when you do the sparkle spin.

You're right!

I never really thought about it like that.

Lunge...

lift...

...and spin.

Wow, thank you so much!

Great, now I know what I need to practice.

It's getting dark.

Looks like we'll have to practice another day.

It's time to go home.

But The Great Skate is this weekend

and I can't come back before then.

What are we going to do?

I don't know.

It's going to be pretty hard to practice

an ice skating routine without ice.

(sighs)

Yeah.

Hm...

Unless...

I can practice without ice!

What do you mean?

I don't need my skates to practice my spin--

I can do that anywhere.

Just like a ballet dancer.

(gasps) You're right!

for The Great Skate this weekend.

Good morning, family!

(chuckles)

That's what I'd like to know...

I'm practicing for The Great Skate this weekend.

Can I try?

Sure!

It all starts with a lunge.

What's a lunge?

You put all your weight on one leg

and bend your knee like this.

Then you swing the other leg around.

Like an octopus?

(chuckling): Right.

Then you spin.

Hey! I did it!

Just make sure you don't look down when you spin.

Uh-oh...

Or you might get...

Whoa!

Oof.

(giggling): Dizzy.

(giggles)

♪ ♪

Hi... Mr... Crunk.

No spinning in the hallway, Pinkalicious.

(quietly): But nice form!

Wow!

You're getting really good at this!

Thanks!

(giggling): Whoa.

Dizzy.

(giggles)

I'm ready for the ice!

Great! Let's practice the whole routine from the beginning

before everybody gets here.

Okay, from the top.

One... two... three...

Around and around.

Then...

Cross...

And... back together.

And now for the sparkle.

Whoa! Oh no! (grunts)

I guess the sparkle spin isn't as easy on the ice.

Looks like all I can do is the sparkle splat.

♪ ♪

Oof!

(gasps)

Mr. Crunk! Mr. Crunk!

Mr. Crunk, are you all right?

Oh heavens yes.

It happens.

If you're not falling once in a while,

you're not getting better.

You just pick yourself up, try again, and keep going.

♪ ♪

Wow...

That's amazing!

Right!

I'm going to keep going.

I still have some time to practice.

Whoa!

Hey, you're getting it.

I think I saw some sparkle.

(sighs)

But I still haven't done it yet.

And everybody will be here soon.

There's still time.

(skating music starts again)

PETER: You can do it, Jasmine!

(applause)

You know, the Create-a-Skate is next weekend.

We can make up our own skating moves.

We should definitely do that.

But first, you've got to teach me how you do that.

I don't know, I just made it up.

(giggling)

Oh, I'm just practicing for the Create-A-Skate.
