Can we open our eyes yet, Daddy?

Not yet, you'll ruin the surprise!

Is it a bouncy house airplane?

It's something even better than all of that.

Okay, you can open your eyes now!

It's... it's...

A dusty, old trunk?

This isn't just any old trunk.

This is my old...

magician's trunk!

(both gasp) Magician's trunk?

I found it while I was cleaning out the attic.

It contains all of my old magician gear

from back in the day.

So I thought you kids might want them?

Amazing! What do you say, Peter?

Peter?

It's been my life-long dream to be a magician.

And now I know why...

because magic runs in the family!

♪ ♪

Just think of all the amazing tricks I could do

if I was a magician...

I could make an elephant disappear!

(gasps) Amazing!

I could walk through solid walls!

(knocks on brick)

(applause)

Unbelievable!

I could even float in mid-air!

Ooh...

Magic-tastic!

(applause)

I'd be the greatest magician in the world!

Or at least in Pinkville...

Well, if it's your dream to be a magician

then let's make that dream come true!

Yes!

Okay, where do I start?

Well, a magician never reveals his or her secrets, but...

(whispering): all the answers are in this trunk.

The first thing you need to do

is come up with your magician name.

I have to change my name?

Yes, all the great magicians have great magician names.

Now, I used to be known as Mr. Mysterious!

Ooh!

That is a great magician name.

Thanks!

But now, Mr. Mysterious

has to finish clearing out our mysterious attic.

Have fun! BOTH: Bye!

NORMAN: Shoo! Shoo!

Shoo!

(giggles) Okay, Peter,

what should your magician name be?

Hmm...

How about...

Peter the Magician!

I think it should be a bit more magical than that.

Maybe, Magical... Pete?

No... hmm...

(gasps) I've got it!

Your magician name should be...

The Great Peterini!

The Great Peterini!

I like it!

So what should The Great Peterini's first trick be?

How about a card trick?

Perfect!

Whoa!

Oops. (both laugh)

I guess being The Great Peterini

is going to be harder than I thought.

How do these tricks work?

Well, Daddy said that all the answers

are in the magic trunk.

Look!

"The Book of Magic Tricks."

This book tells you how to perform them.

You just need to learn them.

Hmm, these look pretty confusing...

Don't worry, Peter, I can help.

♪ ♪

Is this your card, madam?

(gasps) Yes, it is!

It is?

Uh, I mean, of course it is.

The Great Peterini strikes again!

Peter, you've learned so many tricks already.

Do you think it's time to show them off?

Is it time for The Great Peterini

to put on a show for all of Pinkville?

(giggles) Or maybe we can ask Mommy and Daddy

if Rafael and Frida can come over to watch?

(giggles) That sounds good, too.

But I'll need to learn an amazing trick

for my grand finale.

Every magician has a grand finale.

Hmm... let's see.

Nope.

Not grand enough.

(gasps) Wait, what's that?

Ooh!

That will be The Great Peterini's grand finale!

Ladies and gentlemen,

please welcome

the amazing, the magical, the Great Peterini!

(polite applause)

Thank you, thank you.

Now for my first trick.

Madam, would you please pick a card

and show it to the audience?

And now, will madam please place it back into the deck?

(giggles) Oh, madam will.

And...

is this your card, madam?

It is!

Wow!

Wow! Cool!

(applause)

Young lady, would you please hold out your palm?

Okay!

I will now make this coin...

disappear! (gasps)

Wow! Cool!

And now, ladies and gentlemen, for my grand finale.

Sir, is this just a normal, empty hat?

Yes, there's nothing in it.

Please place the hat on the table!

The Great Peterini will now pull a rabbit

from his very own hat!

ALL: Ooh!

(drum roll)

And...

gummy worms!

Wait... gummy worms?

(laughter)

Huh?

That wasn't supposed to happen.

And you're not supposed to be laughing.

You're supposed to be amazed.

Sorry, Peter.

It was kind of funny.

(sighs)

Maybe I'm not ready to be The Great Peterini after all.

I'm just... the regular Peter.

Peter, wait!

Don't worry,

The Great Peterini will return soon...

I hope.

Peter? Peter?

Are you up in the treehouse?

PETER: No.

That's it, run away you fluffy carrot thief!

Whoa!

Hi Norman, what's going on?

Oh, I've been running all morning

chasing that rabbit away from my delicious carrots.

Aww, he's only looking for some food.

Well, those carrots are not for nibbling!

Every time I think he's gone,

he appears again out of nowhere, like magic!

(gasps) Norman, I think I have an idea that can help you.

But first I need to talk The Great Peterini

into making a comeback!

Who?

Excuse me, Mr. Great Peterini?

No, only regular Peter here.

How can I be a magician without a grand finale?

Every magician has to have a grand finale.

It's just I've been looking in "The Book of Tricks"

and I think I know why your grand finale didn't work.

You do?

It's simple.

You didn't use the magic word.

A magic word, of course!

Do you know what it is?

(whispers)

It's time...

for The Great Peterini to return.

Ladies and gentlemen,

please welcome again The Great Peterini!

(applause)

Sir, could you tell us once more

if this is just a normal, empty hat?

It's empty all right.

Now please pass it around the room

so everyone can see it is indeed empty.

(whispering): Okay Norman, it's time for the rabbit.

I'll get the hat.

(quietly) Here rabbit, rabbit.

I've got some nice crunchy, delicious carrots.

Just for you...

Nothing in there.

And will someone please now place the hat on the table?

(stilted): Whoops, I dropped the hat.

Silly old me!

Sorry, Great Peterini, I'll just go and get it.

(whispering) Now...

(gasps)

(quietly): Wait, Mr. Rabbit, come back here!

Oof!

(whispering): Pinkalicious, what's going on?

The Great Peterini needs his hat!

Ooh!

Wait! Wait!

Norman!

You're just in time to see The Great Peterini

pull a rabbit out of his own hat!

And now, can everyone repeat with me

the very important magic word...

Petercadabra!

ALL: Petercadabra!

(drum roll)

Wow, Peter! Wow! Cool!

Wow, Great Peterini!

I was never able to do that!

How on earth...

How did you do that?

Sorry.

A magician never reveals his secrets.

KIDS: That's Pinkatastic!

(giggling)

Today, we were just

walking down the street, talking...

(shouts)

It's a tree that's moving!

It looks like a birch tree.

CHILD: It had eyes, it had a mouth

and it was just swaying with this wind.

CHILD: She was probably wanting to perform for us.

It looked like she was dancing, but it also looked like

she was acting.

And then we met Kirstie.

Her job was to help with the costume.

Is this like a human statue?

KIRSTIE: Yes, it's what we call

living art.

CHILD: Our professional tree is an actor.

Will we get to meet the tree?

Yes, you will.

Hello! Wow, there she is!

How's it going?

CHILD: Well, her name was Kiba.

Do you recognize me?

No... (giggles)

She didn't look anything like she did when she was a tree.

I had to paint my face,

and then I put on a long body suit.

And then I think you guys saw my head piece.

CHILD: Are we gonna get to be living statues?

Yes, you are.

CHILD: We got branches,

and we also put some crowns on.

We got to act out the day in the life of a tree.

Morning, we're up in the sky.

Afternoon, when the wind blows,

we get to move our bodies,

we got to move slowly, we got to relax.

The professional tree was acting with us.

It was pretty cool.

PINKALICIOUS: "Sleepless in Pinkville."

♪ ♪

PINKALICIOUS: And... there.

I set it for : a.m., sunrise!

And I'm putting it right on my pillow so I'll hear it.

You have to see my alarm!

It's the best loudest, ever!

Ta-da!

So I'll be asleep like this...

(fake snores)

...and when it's time, my alarm will go off

and push on my accordion,

which will blast my harmonica and crash my scooter!

(alarm ringing, accordion wheezing, harmonica blaring)

(both giggling)

(scooter horn) (shouting): What on earth?

(shouting): It's my alarm!

Good, huh?

(alarm stops) I'll say, whew!

This'll wake us up for sure!

Oh, we can't miss it again this year.

We just can't.

Um, what do they call it again?

The thing we can't miss?

It's called Pinka-blua.

The one time a year that a pink sun rises

just as a blue moon is setting.

It's supposed to be incredible.

I heard that the sky is pink and blue and purple-y

all at the same time!

Every year we've tried to see it,

and every year we've slept through our alarms.

But this year, we'll do it.

I don't care how sleepy I am, you wake me up!

Will do, Daddy.

We'll tickle you if we have to!

(laughs) You do that.

Into bed, everyone!

If we don't get to sleep, we'll be too tired for Pinka-blua.

Good night, Peter! Good night!

Night-y night!

And good night to you, Pinkalicious.

See you at sunrise!

Night, Mommy, sleep tight.

(clock ticking)

(groans)

Ugh, why can't I fall asleep?

It's midnight, this is terrible!

If I don't go to sleep I'll be too tired for Pinka-blua!

Come on, Henrietta.

Let's get a glass of milk...

♪ ♪

Drinking milk will for sure make me sleepy.

Here goes!

(gulps)

Hmm...

The other thing that makes me sleepy is yawning.

(yawns)

That was my practice yawn. (giggles)

This is my real yawn.

(yawns)

Phew, that should do it.

Ready for bed?

I bet I fall asleep in one second.

Or two, but no more than two! (giggles)

(clock ticking)

(groans in frustration)

I can't fall asleep!

I wish someone could sing me a lullaby.

(gasps) Goldie!

Goldie, oh, Goldie....

(neighs)

Yay!

Could you sing me a lullaby?

I have to fall asleep right away

or I'll be too tired for Pinka-blua!

♪ ♪

(clears throat)

(neighs lullaby)

(yawns) That's a good song, Goldie.

It's making me really tired...

(tired whinny)

(snore-neighing)

Ah, ah... ah-choo!

(alarmed whinny)

Goldie, no, come back!

(whinnying)

Shh, Goldie, you'll wake up Peter!

Shh! He's asleep!

(whinnies) Shh!

(snoring)

Let's leave as quietly as we can.

(quiet crunch)

Ah! What was that?

(muffled) What was...

Shh! You'll wake up Mommy and Daddy!

(whispering): Okay, but why are you in my room?

You scared me!

I didn't mean to, but I couldn't sleep and then I sort of did,

only I accidentally sneezed and scared Goldie,

and she ran into your room and I had to calm her down.

Well, now we both can't sleep.

I know.

Which means we'll be so tired we won't wake up.

We'll miss Pinka-blua!

(gasps) I have an idea.

(all panting)

...

...

(neighs)

, phew!

(out of breath): Anyone tired yet?

Peter?

Goldie? (neighs)

Aw, I was sure that would tire us out.

I know, let's do a race!

That'll make us super sleepy!

(gasps) A Goldie race!

You run and we'll try to catch you!

(excited neigh)

On three. (giggles)

One, two, three...

go!

(neighs happily)

(kids laughing) (Goldie happily neighing)

♪ ♪

Shh!

Mommy and Daddy's room!

(quiet trotting)

Careful!

We don't want to startle her.

Hmm...

(gasps) Wow!

(neighs)

This way, hide! (giggles)

(confused neigh)

(sing-song): Oh, Goldie...

Got you! (laughs)

(neighs happily)

We can catch her if we hide!

Hide!

♪ ♪

(giggles)

Got you!

(laughing)

That was the most awesome-est race!

Only...

I'm still not tired.

Me neither, not the least little bit!

What are we gonna do?

(comforting neigh)

Well...

maybe we were too energetic.

Maybe we should do something sleepier.

Like...

(gasps) A sleep song!

♪ If you can't get to sleep ♪

♪ You can try counting sheep ♪

Or...

♪ If you want to start snoring ♪

♪ Think of something boring ♪

Oh, yeah!

Boring puts me right to sleep!

♪ Folding the laundry and matching your socks ♪

♪ Clean up blocks ♪

♪ Gray rainy days when you can't go outdoors ♪

♪ All of those things make me want to snore ♪

♪ When I think about them, I yawn and then ♪

♪ I rub my eyes and yawn again ♪

♪ Finally without a peep ♪

♪ I fall asleep ♪

Look at that!

It worked on Goldie!

♪ Waiting and waiting for cupcakes to bake ♪

♪ Or being homesick with a tummy ache ♪

♪ Stopping a game to tie your shoes ♪

♪ All of those things make me want to snooze ♪

(whispering): It's working!

I'm sort of sleepy!

Quick! Get into bed!

♪ When I think about them, I yawn and then... ♪

(yawns)

♪ I fall asleep... ♪

(yawns) Good night, Pinkalicious...

(yawns) Good night, Peter...

(alarm ringing)

(alarm ringing) (chordal wheezing)

(shrill alarms ringing)

(laughs)

(alarm blaring) (scooter horn honking)

Peter?

There he is.

MOM: Why are they squished up like that?

Pinkalicious, Peter, it's time to get up!

Wake up, sleepy heads.

You don't want to miss Pinka-blua!

(sleepily): Don't wanna miss it...

I'm... awake now...

Oh, wow!

DAD (gasping): This is better than I imagined.

Pinkalicious... wake up!

Hmm, Goldie... (chuckles)

Did you say something, Pinkalicious?

Goldie...

(gasps) Jumping jellybean!

That is awesome!

Wake up, wake up!

Whoa!

PINKALICIOUS: That is Pinka-bluatastic!

Pinkamazing! Wow!
