PINKALICIOUS: "Spoon Sounds."

(chimes tinkling)

Ooh!

So that's what that sound is!

Oh, hello, Pinkalicious!

Like my wind chimes? (chuckles)

Uh, actually, I like to call it a sound sculpture.

(tinkling)

(laughing): Ooh!

See...

These metal pieces bump into each other,

creating a vibration.

That's what makes the sound. (tinkling)

It sounds pinkamazing!

(barks)

(laughing): Pinky thinks so, too!

(both laughing)

(sniffing)

Mmmm...

What smells so good?

I'm making your favorite-- pinkanoodle soup.

Hope you're hungry.

I sure am!

But I should probably try it.

Just to make sure it tastes okay.

Oh, excellent idea, yeah.

I'll join you.

(blowing)

Mmmm!

It's noodlicious!

(spoons tinkling)

(gasps) Did you hear that, Daddy?

It sounds like Mr. Plum's wind chimes.

(spoons tinkling)

(giggles)

(gasps)

♪ Spoon, spoons, jingling ♪

♪ Clear and high, ping ping ping! ♪

♪ Sweet and tinkly ♪

♪ Kind of twinkly ♪

♪ I stop and think ♪

(spoon tinkling)

♪ It's the sound of pink ♪

(tapping to the b*at)

♪ That's the sound of pink ♪

♪ I hear it ♪

(tinkling)

♪ And I see shades of pinkamazing color ♪

♪ Swirling around me ♪

♪ Whirling and twirling around me ♪

♪ ♪

♪ Spoon, spoons, jingling ♪

♪ As they sway and swing ♪

♪ Bright and breezy ♪

♪ Light and easy ♪

♪ I stop to think ♪

(tapping to the b*at)

♪ It's the sound of pink ♪

♪ I hear it ♪

(tinkling)

♪ And I see shades of pinkamazing color ♪

♪ Swirling around me ♪

♪ Whirling and twirling around me. ♪

(holds note)

Hey, maybe I can make wind chimes with these spoons.

(spoons tinkling)

Oh! There's a fun idea!

But it would sound even better if I had more spoons.

Ta-da!

I'll need something to hang the spoons with

so they can dangle and bump into each other.

Let's see...

(gasps) A-ha!

This string will work!

Now I just need somewhere to hang them.

Hm...

(gasps) I know!

How about the big tree in the park?

I can tie the spoons onto the branches to make a wind chime.

What a great idea! Have fun!

Heya, Pinkalicious!

Hi, Peter!

Hi, Frida!

What are you doing with all those spoons?

They're not just spoons anymore.

They're wind chimes!

Aren't wind chimes supposed to chime?

They will when there's a wind.

Or when you do this!

(spoons tinkling)

Whoa, cool!

That sounds pretty!

Can we try?

Sure!

(spoons tinkling)

(giggling) Wow!

I bet it would sound even better with more spoons!

I just have to figure out where to get them.

Hm...

Ice cream!?

Yes!

Mr. Swizzle probably has lots of spoons!

(bell chimes)

No ice cream for me, thanks, Mr. Swizzle.

I was wondering if I could borrow some spoons.

I'm using them to make wind chimes in the park.

(chuckling): Oh!

Wind chimes, eh?

Well, I don't see why not!

(barking) Hey!

What are all those spoons doing in the tree?

Pinkalicious is making a spoon wind chime.

I started with just a few, and they sounded so pretty,

I decided to add some more.

Now it's extra chimey!

(barks)

♪ ♪

(barks)

(giggles)

I guess dogs really like wind chimes!

And I'm going to make them even chimey-er.

That is if I can find more spoons.

Um... we have lots of spoons at our house.

I don't think my mom would mind if you borrowed them.

Really?!

These are going to be the most pinkamazing wind chimes

Pinkville's ever heard!

(wind blowing, chimes tinkling)

(barks)

Come on, Rusty!

We have to get more spoons!

(wind blowing, spoons tinkling)

(all exclaiming)

This is definitely the biggest wind chime I've ever seen.

It can be even bigger and sound even more beautiful

if we borrow more spoons.

Then everyone in town can hear it.

But where are you going to find more spoons?

Everyone uses spoons.

We should have more at our house.

And I didn't take all of our spoons.

Yeah!

We can help you find more.

That would be pinkamazing!

All the spoons are gone.

How are we going to eat our soup without spoons?

(giggles)

Oh, I can't wait for the next big gust of wind!

MR. SWIZZLE: Pinkalicious!

Pinkalicious, did you take all of my...

(gasps)

So this is the wind chime you were making with my spoons?

It's really something, Pinkalicious.

But I'm afraid there aren't any spoons left for my customers.

Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Swizzle.

Pinkalicious!

Peter?

A-ha!

Now I know where the spoons went!

Pinkalicious, I didn't think you'd take all of them.

She didn't, Daddy!

I took some, too!

Well, how are we supposed to eat our soup?

Um, good question...

I started to make my famous flan

and realized there aren't any spoons to eat it.

Because they're all here.

Sorry, everyone.

I just kept thinking if the color pink had a sound,

this is what it would be.

And I wanted it to sound even pinker.

But I understand.

You all need your spoons back.

(spoons tinkling)

(all exclaiming)

I do need to get those spoons back for my customers,

but that sounds better than a Super Swizzle sundae!

DAD (chuckling): I'll say!

They sound amazing.

Maybe we can help find some more spoons.

Enough so that everyone in Pinkville

can hear this beautiful sound.

(children cheering)

(exclaiming, chuckling)

Cool! Wow!

(loud, cacophonous tinkling)

(birds chirping)

(cacophonous tinkling continues)

What in the world is that sound?

(cacophonous tinkling continues)

(gasps)

(whimpers)

What's with this wind?

I can't concentrate with all the noise!

That's quite a sound sculpture you've got there, Pinkalicious.

But I can't hear my wind chimes anymore.

Oh...

(cacophonous tinkling continues)

Aw...

The spoons made such a pinkatastic sound before.

But now all this wind is making the chimes too loud.

(loud, cacophonous tinkling continues)

It is a very windy wind!

(gasps)

It would be a much better sound sculpture

if I took off some spoons,

just in case it ever gets this windy again.

That's a good idea.

And I do need some spoons back for my customers.

And for our soup.

And my flan.

Then I think we have a solution to both problems.

(cacophonous tinkling continues)

(tinkling quiets)

♪ ♪

There.

That should do it.

Oh! Here comes the wind again!

(chimes tinkling gently, everyone exclaiming)

It might not be the biggest wind chime anymore

but it's pinkaperfect!

And now we won't have to eat our pinkanoodle soup with a fork.

(Pinkalicious and Dad laughing)

KIDS: That's pinkatastic!

(giggling)

Welcome to my studio, I'm Ken.

I make hybrid musical instruments.

A hybrid is something that's made from

existing things that are put together

to make something new.

For example, this guitar is made from a tennis racket,

and a bunch of other small objects.

So this is my K-board.

You see this?

Each key is wired up to a electrical outlet.

And each key then will turn on that light

or whatever else I have in there.

You have a bicycle wheel

with guitar picks that are just set into the tire.

So it's kind of like

strumming a guitar with a machine.

(wheel strumming)

(discordant music playing)

So this big thing here,

I call it the Urban Grand Piano.

Because urban means in the city,

and the city is, is very noisy,

and there's a lot of action and stuff going on--

horns honking, and a lot of people, a lot of crazy noise.

I have eight radios

tuned to eight different radio stations.

And then I have

other mechanical devices that make and project light and image

on the inside of the screens.

I really love making instruments out of weird things

and then sharing them with people.

PINKALICIOUS: "Robotta the Artiste."

(Robotta beeps and whirs)

That looks great!

PINKALICIOUS: Today's the day

for the most pinkcredible art exhibit

the Pinkville Art Museum has ever had.

What's it called again?

"Pink Paintings in Pinkville"!

Okay, are you ready to go, Pinkalicious?

I just need my sketchbook, Mommy.

I want to sketch as many paintings as I can,

so I get even better at drawing.

Just imagine all of those pictures,

all in pink.

It'll be so pinkamazing!

Oh, there it is.

Are you sure you don't want to come with us, Peter?

Maybe next time.

Robotta's helping me paint lots and lots of dinosaur paintings.

Bleep!

Dinosaur paintings.

I'm going to hang them up all over the backyard

so it looks like there are dinosaurs everywhere.

I'm calling it Dino World!

Dino World? (chuckles)

Frida's coming over later to play dinosaurs

with Robotta and me.

Need some help with Dino World, Peter?

Look at all the pink paintings, Mommy!

(visitors exclaiming, gasping) WOMAN: Gorgeous!

It's even more pinkatastic than I expected!

(chuckles) I thought you'd like it.

Oh.

I wonder why that whole wall's so empty.

Oh, isn't it a shame?!

One of the artists broke her pinky finger!

So she couldn't finish her pink paintings in time.

Oh, I'm sorry, Dame Nostrella.

(sighs)

I wanted to capture the heart, the soul,

the very pinkness of Pinkville!

That's what this exhibit is all about.

But you still have lots of pink paintings.

I brought my sketchbook so I can sketch some of them!

Pinkalicious, this pink line right here is lovely!

Oh, thank you.

That's a painting I haven't finished yet.

(chuckling): It's wonderful the way it is.

But it's just a line.

It's a special line!

See how it's thicker at this end

and then thinner at the other end?

And the slight curve gives it so much movement.

It's like it's dancing on the page!

Huh...

I hadn't noticed that before.

How would you like your art work to be hanging on the wall

as a part of this exhibit?

Really?

Mommy, did you hear that?

I did!

Do you think you could paint more lines just like this one?

I could try.

I think your lines would look absolutely amazing up there.

We have lots of pink landscapes and pink portraits

but we don't have any pink line art.

That's exactly what is needed.

(gasps)

My artwork is going to be a part

of the "Pink Paintings of Pinkville" exhibit!

Oh, but if we're going to fill up this wall,

we need a lot of paintings.

At least a hundred.

A hundred?

We'd need them right away...

by this afternoon at the latest.

I can do it, Dame Nostrella!

Are you sure, Pinkalicious?

That's a lot of paintings.

Yes... the lines should have the same feeling,

with the variation of line quality

and the balance of positive and negative space

that results in the abstraction of form.

So... uh...

you want more lines just like this one,

right, Dame Nostrella?

Hm... Yes.

Just like this one. (chuckles)

Do you want to play dinosaurs with us?

Oh, I wish I could, but I have to paint

one hundred lines for the exhibit.

How many do you have so far?

Um...

Do these lines look alike?

Dame Nostrella said they need to be the same.

Well...

this part of the line is a little wiggly.

But this part is...

Straight.

I better keep trying.

Okay.

Just watch out for T-Rexes!

(roaring, giggling)

(playful screaming, roaring)

I was having trouble making this line look like that line anyway.

(powering up)

No, Robotta painted them.

Peter and Frida are pretending they're in Dino World.

for the "Pink Paintings of Pinkville" exhibit

at the museum today.

I see more shapes!

I love diamonds but we have to get these lines to the museum

so Dame Nostrella can put them in the exhibit.

Um... they do look like they were painted by a robot.

I think there's been a misunderstanding.

I didn't mean they needed to look exactly like that line.

I should have been more clear.

Your other line was so dynamic!

It had so much movement!

I was hoping you could create lines that felt the same,

but were different lines--

curvy lines or zig zag lines...

Or swirls.

I'm really sorry, Pinkalicious.

But I'm afraid I can't use these lines for the exhibit.

Unless... what if Rafael and I connect the lines

to create something?

That could work.

You mean like the shape of a diamond or a bird?

But it looks kind of sad.

(papers rustling)

(laughs)

(chuckles)
