PINKALICIOUS: "Snow Alarm."

[Peter sighs]

Nothing, Pinkalicious.

Not a single sign of snow!

I can't stand it, Peter.

This is making me so sad.

NORMAN: Sad?

How can you be sad?

Spring is right around the corner!

That's why we're sad, Norman.

[both sigh]Spring is coming.

I think I have something in my ear.

I think I didn't hear that right.

Ah, all clear!

Say that again?

I know it seems strange, but we don't want spring to come.

Not yet, anyway.

[sputtering]: But, but... Spring!

Flowers, birds, bees!

Busy gnomes!

Joy and happiness, la la la!

But it hasn't snowed yet.

And we want it to snow!

Ah, I see.

It's been of those "no snow" winters.

I don't mind them, myself.

But we mind them.

We mind them a lot.

[both sigh]

Et voilà!

My special "Ode to Spring" pancakes!

[laughs]: These should cheer you up.

[groans]

Well, that sure did the trick.

They look pinkamazing.

But we're not in a pancake mood.

I won't ever be in a pancake mood!

Not unless some snow comes.

There'll be other winters.

Other chances for snow.

But we want snow this winter!

So we can sled and build forts,

and throw snowballs...

And sled!

It's hard, I know.

Part of growing up is learning

to accept the things we can't control.

We're getting ready for the snowstorm!

Oh, yes, I heard about that.

Aren't you excited?

Uh, not really.

Plus, it'll probably melt right away.

[gasps] Oh, no!

Wait!

What do you mean, "melt right away"?

When it snows this close to spring, it never sticks.

The ground is too warm.

If it snows during the night,

it might even melt before morning.

What?!

Melt while we're asleep?

Yup-- that happened one year.

I went to bed, it was snowing; I woke up, it was gone.

We can't miss the snow, Pinkalicious.

We can't!

If only the snow could tell us when it gets here.

Since snow can't tell us,

we'll have to stay up all night and watch for it.

Here's the plan:

we'll glue ourselves to the window!

[laughs]

Or maybe...

Yes? Yes?

Maybe we can make a snow alarm!

[gasps]: Great idea, Pinkalicious!

Come on!

[alarm ringing]

[alarm stops]

It worked, we did it!Yes, whoo-hoo!

Yeah!

[giggles]What are you twoup to?

We just made the best thing, Mommy!

A snow alarm!

We were going to call it the

Wake-Us-Up-So-We- Don't-Miss-Any-Snow machine,

but snow alarm is easier.

Hm...

See? This mitten will tell us when it starts to snow.

If we're asleep, it will wake us up!

I'm afraid I don't get it.

It's like this, Mommy.

Pretend you're a snowflake, the first snowflake,

and you're falling down, down, down, down, down from the sky.

The second you land on the mitten,

the cord will start to jiggle...

[cord jiggling]

PINKALICIOUS: ...and make the xylophone ding![dings]

Which will wake me up!

It'll also make this ball go into my room.

PETER: So then I'll wake up!

[alarm ringing]

This is wonderful.

Then all you have to do is put on your coats and run outside!

Hm, put on our coats.

Peter, we can make our alarm even better!

We have tons of cord!

Now the cord will jiggle off our coats

so we can put them on even faster.

Whoo, we won't miss one second of fun!

[chuckles]

Now I'm even more impressed.

What gave you the idea for all this?

I was trying to think of a way

for snowflakes to talk to us, even though they can't.

This is kind of the next best thing.

[xylophone dings, alarm clock rings]

It's happening!It's snowing!

BOTH: Let's go!

Huh?Why isn't it snowing?

The snow alarm went off!

Here's why.

It got triggered by a leaf!

Silly mitten.

You're only supposed to jiggle if it snows.

Well, the mitten doesn't know that.

We'd better move it over here, away from the tree.

[blowing]

Isn't it wonderful?

It's snow-tastically cold!

[snoring]

[leaves rustling]

Whoa!

[sputtering]

Oh, look, it's snowing.

[yawns]: That'll make the kids happy.

Wait a minute!

What happened to the snow alarm?

The cord's not jiggling!

Why isn't it jiggling?!

Oh, no!

It's broken!

[gasps]: The kids, they're missing the snow.

I have to wake them up!

I know.

We'll fix it later

in case there's one more snow this winter.

Ready, Norman?

Three, two, one.

Whee!

[laughs]

[laughing]

KIDS: That's artalicious!

BOY: I've made this higher,

but I still want to do one more thing.

GIRL: Pinkalicious and Peter made a sled run.

But we don't have any snow and we don't have any sleds.

So instead, we're using marbles,

cardboard, and foam.

And this is where the marble's going to start.

BOY: To make the marble go, you can make

a slant so that you can give it momentum.

GIRL : And momentum means that it has enough power to be able

to push itself down something.

GIRL : To make it even go faster and cool.

GIRL : When it goes down,

it's able to go a little bit up,

and then it goes across the table,

and then it can go down again.

BOY: We worked together to make

the first part of the ramp, but now,

we're making our features separately.

GIRL : My feature is called

the rainbow spinner.

Yay!

My feature is called the bell ringer.

You put this at the end of the ramp,

and then it'll be able to hit the bell ringer.

[bells ring]

My special feature is to make a little road

out of rubber bands that makes sound.

[rubber bands plunking]

GIRL : I think that it's fun because

you're able to work together,

and you get to experiment with different things.

[cheering]BOY: My advice

is to take your time, don't rush,

and have fun.

PINKALICIOUS: "The Pinkest Reward."

PINKALICIOUS: I'm so glad it stopped raining.

Finally!

Now we can play soccer!

After that, we can go to the playground!

[gasps] Oh!

What happened?

The wind blew everything everywhere.

What a mess.

At least we can still play soccer.

Come on!

[groans]

Are you coming, Pinkalicious?

[baby crying]Uh...

I'll catch up to you later!

Okay.

Aw, sorry, kids.

It's too messy after the storm.

[groans]

But you promised!

[baby crying]You can play another time.

You are right, it really is a mess.

I can clean up the playground.

Then everyone can play in the park again!

[giggling]

Oh, wish I could help, but I have my hands full.

That's okay!

[baby crying]Oh, the baby needs a nap.

Be back soon to help.

Hm.

Much better.

[panting]

That should do it.

Oh, the storm made such a mess.

Wait till you see the playground!

[gasps]:Oh, wow!

Look at this!

Did you clean this up, Pinkalicious?

All by yourself?

Huh, I guess I did!

But that's such a big job!

Oh! Yay!

I wanted to clean it up so the little kids could play.

I just kept going, and now it's fun-eriffic again.

Whee!I don't know how to thank you.

Maybe I do.

We're having our monthly community meeting

later today in front of Town Hall.

Make sure you come by.

Okay, I will!

[clears throat]

As you know, every month, we give out a Good Citizen Award

to someone who helps the Pinkville community.

And this month,

for cleaning up the playground after the storm,

the award goes to

Pinkalicious Pinkerton!

Really?Whoa.

Go, Pinkalicious!

Congratulations, Pinkalicious!

Wow.

And all Good Citizen Award winners

get free ice cream for a whole month!

Free ice cream?!

Wow!

As well as riding the carousel any time you want!

Any time you want?

Thank you![applauding]

[cheering and applauding]

Congratulations!We're so proud of you!

Way to go, Pinkalicious!

Usually they give the Good Citizen Award to an adult.

I didn't even know a kid could win it!

Free ice cream and she gets to ride the carousel

any time she wants.

I know!

Plus, she gets to wear that really cool ribbon.

I wish I had a ribbon like that.

[crowd cheers and applauds]

And now the biggest ribbon ever goes to my brother,

Peter Pinkerton!

CROWD [chanting]: Peter! Peter! Peter!

[flashbulb pops]

[gasps]

I'll see you guys later!

Peter, where are you going?

Hm... Perfect!

There you are.

What are you making?

It's a ribbon.

Like the one Pinkalicious got from your mom.

Ooh!

Can I make one, too?

Sure.

Hm, it needs something else.

[gasps]:Glitter!

I love my ribbon.

It's so pretty.

Come on!

Let's go show everyone!

Yes!

There you are-- huh?

The mayor gave you ribbons, too?

We made them.

They look just like yours.

Way to go, ribbon winners!

Congratulations!

Um, we didn't actually win them.

Wow!

Look at all you good citizens!

I didn't know there were so many of you.

Guess that means free ice cream for everybody!

Let's go!

Free ice cream!Whoo-hoo!

[sighs]

Pinkalicious!

Wait until you see this.

I'm going to cut it out and frame it!

Where should we hang it?

It doesn't matter.

Hm?Uh...

[sighs]

Pinkalicious.

Do you want to go get some more free ice cream?

No thanks.

How about a ride on the carousel?

I don't think so.

Hey.

Where's your ribbon?

I took it off.

Why?

I just don't feel like wearing it right now.

She didn't want free ice cream?

No.

And she didn't want to ride the carousel?

And she's not even wearing her ribbon.

Hey, Peter.

Where did you get that ribbon?

I have one, too!

We made them!

They look just like the one Pinkalicious got.

Except she's not wearing hers anymore.

She took it off right after she saw our ribbons.

Maybe she doesn't think her ribbon is special anymore.

How come?

Because she earned hers

by doing something good for the community.

You two just made yours.

A ribbon should mean you did something good.

Like cleaning up the playground.

What if we did something good for the community,

like Pinkalicious did?

Yes! Like what?

Hmm...Um...

[playhouse rattles]

Oops!

Somebody should really fix up this old playhouse.

Why not us?

We're just kids.

How are we supposed to fix a playhouse?

I know we can, if we do it together!

I'm in!

[sighing]: Me, too.

Let's do it!

[all cheer]

Wow!

The playhouse looks color-riffic!

We wanted to do something good to help others.

Like you did.

Want to help?

Yes!

Maybe you'll earn another ribbon.

Ribbons aren't that important to me.

It just feels good to help.
