Who's ready for some glorious birdwatching?

Count the mouse in, man!

My binoculars are smudge-free and ready to go!

My notebook is ready

for some serious scientific bird notations!

Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

And I'm all ready to attract our birdy buddies

with my birdy buddy bird call!

Bark! Bark! Bark!

Wait, that doesn't sound just right...

Worry not, my furry friend,

for I have a sure-fire way to attract our birds.

Behold! The bird feeder.

Squeeks. That's for the birds!

Sorry, Nature Cat!

See, if you leave food out around us wild animals,

we eat it. It's kind of our thing.

In that case we shall hang this feeder in yonder tree

where the only wild animals that can eat from it are the birds!

Hal, lend me a shoulder.

I'll lend you two. No extra charge.

Now! Time for some backyard bird watching!

For me? Who could it be?

(Gasping) Cruiser!

Hello, Nature Cat!

I see you've built a bird feeder

made exclusively for birds.

My mission, if I choose to accept it,

is to infiltrate that feeder

and take all the delicious seeds for myself.

What will I do? Can you feel the tension?

I can feel it! It feels fuzzy!

Oh, wait, that's just my tail.

Oh! Please don't accept the mission!

Please don't accept the mission...

Mission Accepted! Toodles!

Hee hee hee!

(Spy music playing)

Ooh! What is that exhilarating music!?

Wait! What's happening?

Is the feeder okay?! The feeder?!

DAISY: Uh, Nature Cat.

It's hanging right where you left it.

Yeah, it's safe. Chill out, man.

But not for long!

Don't try this at home, kids.

No! I must stop that squirrel! Tally ho!

Mother!

When are you gonna learn, Nature Cat?

You'll never design a feeder that I can't conquer!

I am just too good!

(Laughing)

Squirrel Power!

It all happened so fast. How did that squirrel do that?

Like this!

SQUEEKS: Whoa! That squirrel has some serious hops, huh?

Whoa!

Check out the way his claws grip that tree!

NATURE CAT: Oh, he's not so great!

Yeah! He's not so great!

Thank you, Hal!

He's so, so, so, so great!

Let's just forget about the squirrel

and get back to bird watching, Hm?

How?

Cruiser will just take all of the birdseed again.

Oh no he won't!

Because we are going to make it impossible

for him to get to that feeder.

Yeah! Tee-hee-hee!

Wait. Can we do that?

Oh yes! Tally ho!

And now for the piece de resistance: vegetable oil!

Vegetable oil? Interesting.

Are you frying french fries, Nature Cat?

Nope! I'm going to slather this pole with oil

to make it extra slippery.

That squirrel will never be able to climb it!

But Cruiser didn't need to climb a pole,

he just leapt from branch to branch to get to the feeder.

Ah! You're right! I need to ponder this problem!

Hmm.

Hmmmm.

Hmmmmmm.

I got nothing.

Why don't we just put the pole far from all the trees?

Ha-ha! Yes! Amazing idea, Squeeks!

Just need to simply move the pole!

Move-- the-- pole!

(Screaming)

Ha ha, yes! It's not anywhere near the tree now.

Just as planned...

Oh yeah, baby!

That squirrel's never gonna get that bird seed now.

I hope not.

But that squirrel seems to be a pretty good problem solver.

What we need is a test squirrel to try it out!

water!

There! I said it! I'm scared of water!

I know, right?

So I want to live somewhere else.

'Tis true that I, Nature Cat, am scared of water too.

You are?

But it's a cat thing.

Maybe we can both overcome our fear of water together.

Oh yeah, and we'll all help!

Well, um...

I would really miss my family...

and this pond...

So, what do you say, duck?

I say...

Okay! I'll stay!

ALL: Hooray!

Will you really help me?

But of course!

Onward and pondward!

BOTH: Water. Why'd it have to be water?

Come on, guys! You can do this!

A boat!

Yes, yes. This will be a good first step

to get us out into the water to do a little pond exploration.

The mouse is in!

Oh, sweet boat!

Yippee!

Nature Cat! Come on. It's a boat! Let's go!

Um... right!

Of course! Getting... in... the boat.

Yes... getting in the boat.

Here we go...

Yes, here we go...

You know, on second thought...

And away we go!

All right. See, this is fine.

Watch the paddle, Hal.

Yeah, don't splash any water, sir.

Wow. It's kinda nice out here.

NATURE CAT: Yes. It's not so bad, is it?

Hey, look! Snails!

Gotta get a pic of these guys too!

(Phone camera clicking)

And frogs.

Man, they have a lot of food to choose from here!

Hey, look! A floating rock!

Hey, whoa whoa whoa...

who you callin' a floatin' rock?!

Oops. Sorry, a floating, talking rock!

Wowee!

There are so many other animals

that live out here on this pond!

Just like your family! Hello, mother duckling!

I guess this pond isn't as scary as I thought...

Are you ready to come swimming with us yet?

Yeah, come on, we're learning to dive under now!

Under the water?! Yipes!

You've got to be crazy to do that!

Ha ha ha! Woo-hoo! Cannonball!

Ahh! I'm wet, I'm wet, I'm wet!

Which is, you know, completely fine.

Whoa! Guys!

You've gotta see what's going on under here!

It's pond-tastic!

Wait, is that even a word?

Count the mouse in! Oh yeah, baby!

What? What's going on under there?

What am I missing?

It seems like there's more to explore under the water!

Ohhh, I wish I could see under there

without going in the water!

I like where you are going with this thought,

little duckling.

Hm, but how?

If only there was a way to see down there

without actually going in...

Aha!

My underwater viewer! But of course!

Tally ho!

Whoa!

Hi, tadpole! It's me, Hal!

I see you're starting to get your little leggies

and turn into a little froggie!

I see you playin' hide n' seek in those weeds,

you sneaky little minnow!

Whoa! Look at everything down there!

Whoa-ho-ho!

There's so much going on under the surface of a pond!

Man-oh-man! I gotta check this out!

A diving beetle! Sweet!

Look at him swim with those big back legs!

The pond is so amazing.

So many new friends to meet down there!

But, I-- I-- I just--

You're still scared, huh?

Yes, I can't swim. I've never even tried.

But you are a duck.

I bet if you try, you'll just know how to swim!

Ducks belong in water.

I know...

I'm just too afraid to go in.

I'll tell you what,

and I can't believe I'm saying this.

What if I go in with you?

You'd do that for me?

But you don't even like water.

But I do like you.

Come on, let's do it before I change my mind.

On the count of three...

One, two, three!

Ooh! No no no! This was a bad idea!!!

I'm immediately regretting this!

The wetness is everywhere!

Why does water have to be so wet?!

Nature Cat! Nature Cat! Look at me!

Hey! You're swimming!

I'm swimming! Ha ha!

You were right!

As soon as I hit the water,

my duck instincts kicked in and I just knew how to swim!!

Isn't nature just amazing?

You're doing it! Way to go!

Wow, you're good at that! It's like you're a real duck!

That's my sister!

Wow! You're a natural!

So now dive under with us!

Yeah, you're gonna love it underwater!

Come on, let's go!

What do you think I should do, Nature Cat?

Give it a try!

You could just go under for a second,

you know, see if you like it.

Okay... just for a second.

Here I go.

You can do it.

You can do it, little duckling...

Woo hoo! This pond is incredible!

Oh!

Now that's what I like to see: The little duckling underwater.

And me, not!

Nature Cat? Thank you.

I wouldn't have gone in without you.

You're my hero.

Aww! That makes me getting soaked so worth it.

I love this pond!

It's got everything I need, food, shelter, fun!

And now for more underwater exploration!

Onward and pondward!

Hal was right. Ponds truly are pond-tastic!

What I said!

Woo-hoo!
