That's me, Fred the house cat.

When my family leaves for the day,

I don't just sit inside watching the world go by.

I become...

Tally ho!

Daisy: Under Pressure

Nature Cat: Green ! Blue !

Whose house?! Tally... Hut!

Ronald: BOOM-shakalaka! (laughing)

Nature Cat: Oof! Ahh..

Nature Cat: Touchdown...

Ronald: Ha haha! Oh yeah!

Nature Cat: Ronald!

Ronald: Oh, hellooo, Nature Cat.

Did you come by to check out my Nature Curiosity List?

Nature Cat: You have a Curiosity list, Ronald?

Ronald: Oh yes, of course I do!

And dare I say it's the greatest of all time!

Nature Cat: A decent start,

but creating a Nature Curiosity List is an art form.

It takes years to hone the perfect list of adventures.

Voila!

Ronald: Maybe it takes you years,

but I've come up with the perfect

Nature Adventure in just one minute!

The adventure is... fanfare please, Hal...

Hal: On it, baby!

(trumpet noise) (drum roll)

Ronald: 'What is it like to see a Geyser erupt

at Yellowstone National Park?'

Nature Cat: (laughs) Oh, of course!

I know all about Yellowstone...

the...geezers...

Daisy: GEY-sers.

Nature Cat: GEYsers! Right, geysers!

Haha. That's what I meant to say..

Yes, a great idea for a first-time list-maker, Ronald.

I do believe I crossed that off my list when I was but a kitten.

Nature Cat: So...

uh...maybe they're not on my list after all.

Nature Cat: Well, geysers can't be that interesting...

Especially if they've never even made it onto MY list

of things to explore...

Ronald: Oh really, Nature Cat?

You're telling me that you don't think ultra-hot jets of water,

sh**ting out of the earth like this

BOOM!

sound interesting?! Hm?

Nature Cat: Nice try, Ronald,

but that doesn't even sound real.

Ronald: I'll have you know, Nature Cat,

that I have proof that geysers are real

and that they are awesome.

Hal: Whoa, that's a geyser??

That water goes as tall as like a billion Mr. Chewinsky's

stacked up on top of each other!

Daisy: Man-oh-man is that sweet!

Ronald: Ha! Told ya! Grampy Donald sent me this.

He's invited me to visit him at Yellowstone National Park

to see this geyser, Old Faithful!

Ronald: How do you like them apples?

(laughs)

(crunching)

Hal: Love 'em! So nice of you to ask, Ronald!

(crunching)

Squeeks: Whoa man! That is some serious spray.

Nature Cat: What a sight!

Nature Cat: I mean... I guess it's cool and all,

but who wants to be near all that water?

Nature Cat: Hey, g*ng,

what do you say we head back to our yard

and select a nature adventure from my tried and true

Curiosity List, an adventure that isn't quite so...wet?

Daisy: So this is in a National Park?

Squeeks: And you said this giant jet of water is 'ultra-hot'?

Uh, how hot are we talking?

Like...a bubbling pot of Swiss fondue-hot?

Hal: And how can a jet of hot water

sh**t out of the ground like that?

Daisy/Squeeks: We gotta go see this national park!

Ronald: I think I'm picking up on what all of you are saying.

And yes, Ronald would be honored to lead a Nature Adventure to go

explore Yellowstone National Park and see Old Faithful.

Nature Cat: You lead us?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Ronald.

Then you'll all see that only the coolest, most awesome

adventures make it onto my Nature Curiosity List.

Nature Cat: But Ronald- Ronald: Follow me,

I'll lead the way!

Onward and Ron-ward!

Hm, I like the sound of that!

Daisy: Man-oh-man.

I can't wait to get our geyser on!

Nature Cat: Wow, it is beautiful!

Ronald: Isn't it, though?

Now then, come on, g*ng, Old Faithful is this way!

Ha ha ha!

Nature Cat: I think I'm the best qualified to lead the way

to Old Faithful!

Grampy Donald: Old Faithful is the other way, kids!

Ronald: GRAMPY!!

Grampy Donald: I'm so happy you could come, Ronnie!

And you brought your friends.

Ronald: Well, these guys...

(coughs) Nature Cat.

...have never heard about Old Faithful

...if you can believe it.

I thought I'd teach them...

(under his breath) Nature Cat...

a thing or two about Old Faithful!

Grampy Donald: Thatta boy, Ronnie!

Look at you, already teaching your friends about geysers.

Why, it was only yesterday when I first told you about 'em.

Ronald: GRAMPY!

Nature Cat: So...you've got a lot to learn about geysers too,

huh, Ronald?

Grampy Donald: Oh, sure he does,

when I first told Ronald about geysers,

he asked if we could make one in his backyard.

(laughs) g*ng: (laughs)

Ronald: GRAMPY!

Grampy Donald: Don't worry, kids.

There's so much to discover about the park: geysers,

hot springs, animals like elk...

I learn new things here every day.

Come on!

Nature Cat: I'm gonna see Old Faithful first!

Ronald: No me!

Grampy Donald: Hey, boys,

you're going to miss the elk if you go that fast!

Look over there!

Nature Cat: Whoa! That's amazing!

(elk calls) Ronald: Sure is!

Nature Cat: But I'm still gonna be first

to see Old Faithful!

Ronald: I am!

Nature Cat/Ronald: Whoaaaaaa!

(buffalo noises)

Whoaaaaaa!

Nature Cat/Ronald: Old Faithful!

Nature Cat/Ronald: I saw it first!

Grampy Donald: No, you guys, this isn't Old Faithful!

This is 'Excelsior.'

Nature Cat/Ronald: Excelsior!

Both: I saw it first!

Squeeks: I'm not sure who saw it first

and also I'm not sure what I'm even looking at.

What is this, Grampy D?

Grampy Donald: This is called a hot spring.

But it's really a geyser that's quiet for now.

Hal: Oh really? So now it's a hot spring!

Thought so! A hot spring!

Right, of course, but one question about this silly

little hot spring over here.

What is a hot spring?

Grampy Donald: A hot spring is a supply of hot water

that "springs" (heh heh)...

comes right up out the ground.

Hal: Wow! Nature Cat: Whoa!

Ronald: Whoa, who knew?!

Oh, uh, I mean Ronald knew, of course...

Squeeks: Wow. That's bonkers, Grampy D.

Nature Cat: But how did the water get underground?

Where did it come from?

Grampy Donald: Good question!

Whenever it rains or snows,

the water soaks into the cracks under the ground,

filling in the spaces... kind of like the way

water soaks up into a sponge.

Hal: OH! Like a sponge. Okay. Now I get it. Now I get it.

Or wait, do I get it? I've been clearly established as the

genius of this series, so I'm sure I'll figure it out by the

end of the episode. (laughs)

By the season at least...

Grampy Donald: In some places though, really deep underground,

there are bigger spaces that are connected,

so lots of water collects in one place.

This is called an 'aquifer.' Ronald: -An aquifer!!

Yes, what he said...it's an aquifer, of course.

Haha! The Ronald's on the board, baby! ( do do do do!)

Daisy: Okay, so the water comes from the aquifer,

but what makes it come up out of the ground?

Grampy Donald: The aquifer beneath us here is located near

magma and that makes the water super hot.

The super hot water expands and rises to the surface

because it has nowhere else to go but up.

Squeeks: Wait!

There is magma under us?

(gasps)

Grampy Donald: That's right, magma.

But hold on, let's keep going and I'll tell you more

when we get to our next destination...

Grampy Donald: We're getting closer to Old Faithful...

Ronald: I'm going to get there first!

Nature Cat: Not if I can help it, Ronald!

(squeeking)

(gasps)

Ha ha! Nature Cat: Onward!

Daisy: Skateboards, guys? (laughs) Really?

(upbeat surfer music) ♪

Nature Cat/Ronald: Old Faithful!

I saw it first!

Grampy Donald: No, you guys, this is,

the Grand Prismatic Spring!

Nature Cat/Ronald: Grand Prismatic Spring!

I saw it first!

Daisy: I see it's a hot spring, but it doesn't look like

Excelsior at all!

Hal: Wow! This is so beautiful

and so rainbow-y all at the same time!

Squeeks: (gasps) This is amazing!

Where are all the colors coming from?

Grampy Donald: He he! It's pretty groovy, isn't it!

Teeny, tiny critters that live in the spring

turn it into these different colors.

They love the hot water.

Hal: Aww, the little tiny critters

just want to be all warm and cozy!

And the hot spring water is like a nice, warm,

toasty blanket for them!

Nature Cat: So the water is hot for the same reason

Excelsior is hot?

Grampy Donald: Yep! Magma!

and that has something to do with

Yellowstone's coolest secret!

Wanna hear it? - Everyone: YES!

Grampy Donald: Well, a very long time ago,

volcanos used to erupt,

right where Yellowstone National Park stands today!

Nature Cat: So cool! Hal: Awe! So cool!

Daisy: Man-oh-man-oh-man! Ronald: Oh ho! That's awesome!

Daisy: Makes sense because magma is found where

there are volcanoes, right?

Grampy Donald: Mmm hmm!

And you find geysers in places where there

are or used to be volcanoes.

Ronald: Oh yeah, totally.

Hey Grampy? When are we finally going to see old faithful?

Grampy: (chuckles)

Grampy Donald: Patience, Ronnie!

The most famous geyser in the world is our next stop!

Nature Cat: Last one to Old Faithful is a rotten egg!

Ronald: Heyyy!

Nature Cat/Ronald: Where's Old Faithful?

Grampy Donald: Right here!

Nature Cat/Ronald: Old Faithful!

Both: I saw it first!

Squeeks: You guys, there's nothing to see but steam.

Grampy D, when is it gonna erupt?

Grampy Donald: Well, according to the schedule,

we're due for another one just about now.

Daisy: But what makes the water sh**t so high out of the ground,

Grampy Donald?

Grampy Donald: With a geyser,

it's harder for the water to reach the surface.

The pressure escape route is very narrow.

When all of that hot water and steam can't escape,

the pressure builds and then whoosh!

Grampy Donald: Thar she blows, we have a geyser!

Squeeks: Ahhh! I can't wait to see this!

Hal: So Grampy, why is this geyser called 'Old Faithful?'

Grampy Donald" It's called Old Faithful because this is one

geyser with a pretty reliable schedule.

It erupts several times a day, sometimes about every hour!

Squeeks: (dry hurling)

Squeeks: Do you guys smell that?!

It's gross! Although... (sniffs)

...it's kind of...alluring!

Like an extra crumbly hunk of blue cheese.

Cheese!

Grampy Donald: The smell comes from sulfur and other gases

from inside the earth that are released by geysers,

along with the water that sh**t out.

Hal: Look look look! I think it's happening!

All: (commotion)

All: Wow!

(click)

Nature Cat: I've got to hand it to you, Ronald.

This was an incredible Nature Adventure.

Truly.

If it weren't for your Nature Curiosity List,

I never would have seen this.

Ronald: Well... truth be told,

if it weren't for your Nature Curiosity List,

I never would've made one myself.

Nature Cat/Ronald: 'What Is It Like To See A Geyser Erupt

at Yellowstone National Park?'

It's amazing!!

Daisy: Rainy day.

(slow music)

Nature Cat: Water.

Why does it always have to be water?

Daisy: Can you believe it's been raining for three days straight?

Squeeks: Three days of not playing outside!

Three days!

I'm going nuts in here man...

Hal: Don't worry, baby, The Great Haldini is here!

With his latest trick!

When I say the magic words, the rain will stop!

Hal: Alla...um...ab- ab...Abraca...

Hm? I forgot the magic words...

Nature Cat: Nature!

I devote my days to you and your beauty!

I even name myself after you,

and this is how you repay me?!

With water?!

Days and days of water?

Hal: Don't you worry, buddy.

I'm sure the rain will stop soon, right?

Daisy: (sighs) I'm afraid not. Look.

Daisy: Unfortunately the forecast calls for nothing

but rain over the next seven days.

Nature Cat: It looks like

we'll just have to keep playing indoors?

Squeeks: No way, man.

I can't take being inside anymore!

We've already done everything there is to do inside!

Hal: We all gotta get outside and play!

Nature Cat: Despite how bored I am,

I shall not venture outside

until the rain completely stops.

It is yucky, and as proof,

if the rain weren't so bad,

how come there's no other animals outside, huh?

Daisy: That's actually a good question.

Daisy: Where did all of the animals go?

Hal: Yeah, definitely no one out there.

Oh wait! I see someone!

It's a robin splish-splashing in the puddle.

Squeeks: Oh, that actually looks kind of fun!

Daisy: Yeah, the rain doesn't seem to bother her one bit.

Nature Cat: I'll get to the bottom of this.

Excuse me, robin?

What on earth brings you out into the rain?

Robin: Oh. Hi guys!

The rain makes it a great time to catch worms.

Robin: See?

Nature Cat: But isn't it so uncomfortable

to be wet in the rain!

Robin: Not really because I've got these feathers

to keep me warm and dry.

Check 'em out!

Hal: I just wish we had feathers to keep us warm and dry

so we could go out in the rain.

Squeeks: (gasps) That's it, Hal, you're a genius!

Hal: Yes, right! But I am also...a magician!

Hal: The old feather trick! (laughs)

Alla-ca...oh, boy...

forgot the words...again. Phew...

Squeeks: It's okay, Haldini. Because we don't need a trick

or feathers. We have our rain gear!

Daisy: Sweet idea, Squeeks!

Then it won't feel so wet out there!

Hal: Oh yeah, baby!

Daisy: Aren't you going to put on your rain gear, Nature Cat?

Nature Cat: No thanks, Daisy, I'm good.

Squeeks; Why not, Nature Cat?

What gives, buddy?

Nature Cat: You know, it's the strangest thing.

But uh...I've lost my rain suit. Yep!

That's it. Can't find it anywhere.

Please feel free to go outside without me.

Hal: But what's that hanging on your hook?

Nature Cat: That? That's nothing.

Whatever rests on that hook, is not mine.

Squeeks: Really?

But it has, "Nature Cat's Official Wetsuit"

emblazoned across the front. No?

Nature Cat: Oh right, that.

What do you know.

I ah...it must have slipped my, nothing gets past you,

does it, Squeeks?

Squeeks: Nope. Never did. Never will. Heh, heh.

Let's do this!

Nature Cat: One can never be too cautious when it comes to water.

Daisy: Hey! It's not so bad being outside

with waterproof clothing.

Squeeks: That's right, Daisy.

And check out my outfit.

I call it May Chic Rainstorm Red.

Gorgeous!

Nature Cat: You look lovely, Squeeks, but what could there

possibly be to do outside in the rain?

Robin: What?!

If you open your eyes, ears, and noses,

you'll find that being outside in the rain will

make old places seem new and exciting.

Squeeks: Sounds good to me!

Who else is in?

Daisy: Me! Hal: Me too too also!

Nature Cat: (sigh) If I must.

Nature Cat: Ewwww!

You know, I wouldn't mind the rain so much if it weren't so

...ya know, wet. And made from water.

Squeeks: Yeah, just a minor detail there.

(laugh)

Wouldn't mind the rain being made from cheese curds myself.

Cheese.

Nature Cat: Okay, so some animals, like the robin,

might be out here for food,

but I still don't understand the rain's appeal.

Hal: (gulping)

Awe, you guys so have to try this!

(gulping) (laughs)

Daisy: Sweet!

Squeeks: This feels great.

C'mon Nature Cat, it's your turn! Ahhhh!

Nature Cat: Hold on, let me get my rainproof tongue protector.

Oh, wait, there's no such thing.

Hal: C'mon buddy, try it. You'll thank me.

Nature Cat: I don't know..

Nature Cat: No thanks!

Whoaaaa!

Nature Cat: Ugh..

actually that felt kind of good.

Hal: Of course it did.

Hal: Do you smell what I smell, Nature Cat?

(sniffs)

Nature Cat: What's that scent?

(sniff) It's earthy.

(sniff) It's fresh.

(sniff) I like it.

Daisy: (sniffs) Ahhh!

Granny Bunny says that the smell comes from plants

and tiny critters that live in the dirt.

Nature Cat: Hmm, so there's something else good

that comes out of the rain.

Interesting.

Squeeks: (gasps) Check this out, you guys!

Daisy: Oh sweet.

I've never seen these mushrooms here.

All of this rain must be bringing them out.

They look like little umbrellas!

Hal: They're red and yellow and short and tall.

It's like an entire mushroom village!

Nature Cat: Ok, I must admit, these mushrooms are magnificent.

Especially this orange one!

Daisy: Say whaaat!

Daisy: Hey!

It's the vernal pond where we met Fern the salamander.

All of this rain is great for the animals

that use the pond every spring.

Nature Cat: It's, it's...beautiful!

Hal: That it is. And look at the little duckies.

Hey duckies, quack, quack, it's me, Hal, bark, bark!

Ducks: (squeeking)

Hal: (laughs)

Nature Cat: Okay, why didn't anyone say

there were ducks out here?

I adore ducks.

And these are soooo cute!

Daisy: Man-oh-man, check out how the raindrops

are making ripples.

Squeeks: Well we can make ripples too!

Check it out.

Squeeks: You guys so gotta try this! Yeah!

Nature Cat: I can't believe I'd ever say this but I am sort of,

kind of, enjoying the rain.

And we've got the entire afternoon ahead of us.

Nothing can stop us now!

Nature Cat: Ahhhhhhh!

Except that.

(bing!) (boink!)

(boing!)

Squeeks: Whoa. The rain's really coming down hard now.

Nature Cat: Ughhh.

Why, at the precise moment that I'm beginning to experience

personal growth, must this happen?

I mean, this is just too much rain, right?

And now our day is ruined!

(sobbs)

Hal: What are we supposed to do now?

Reggie: Hey, guys! What are you doing over there?

Squeeks: Reggie, what's happenin'?

Reggie: Hey Squeeks! It's crazy.

I just woke up from hibernating.

And guess what?

I am totally enjoying this Spring rain.

Yee haw!

Hal: How can you enjoy the rain if you're standing underneath

this here leaf-ceiling?

Reggie: Even animals who love the rain

head for shelter when it rains hard, Hal.

And this spot's awesome, with the leaves overhead.

(sigh) It's so relaxing,

just listening to the rain.

(rain sounds)

Squeeks: You're right, Reggie, it's very meditative.

Daisy: So peaceful.

Nature Cat: The sounds sure are nice, Reggie, but there doesn't

seem to be much to look at under here.

Reggie: Well, actually Nature Cat, there's a lot to see.

I was just admiring that field over there.

Nature Cat: Umm, okay.

What about it?

Reggie: Now check this out.

This is a photograph of the field from not long ago.

And look how green it is now!

Ha ha ha heeew!

Hal: No way!

Reggie: Yeah way, Hal.

It's the best!

Spring rain turns everything green!

Nature Cat: Hmm, you're right.

I hadn't even noticed.

Reggie: And you see those plants over there, Nature Cat?

Reggie: They weren't there either.

They just sprouted up.

Daisy: What a sweet place for admiring

the first greens of spring.

Oh! And the newly-budded plants!

Hal: Hey, it's not raining so hard anymore.

Nature Cat: Wonderful news, g*ng!

Where to next?

Squeeks: I have an idea.

Who wants to go out and play in that field...barefoot?!

Hal: Oh I do! Pick me pick me pick me!

Squeeks: Reg, you in?

Reggie: Ugh, no thanks, Squeeks.

Another reason why I like the rain so much,

it's a good time to go off

and hunt for some bugs.

Squeeks: Can't argue with you there Reggie.

Happy Hunting. We'll catch up with you later.

Reggie: See ya! Spring has sprung!

Ho ho ho!

Daisy: Uh. Nature Cat, aren't you coming with us?

Nature Cat: I have spent almost an entire day out in the rain.

But abandoning my galoshes and going barefoot?

You insult me good sirs.

Go ahead without me.

I shall watch from afar.

Hal: But Nature Cat,

don't you want to frolic with us in the field?

Squeeks: And feel the mushy squish of the mud

beneath your toes?

To stand. Truly in the earth.

Feeling it's power on the skin.

Come on!

Nature Cat: I'm sorry. I just can't do it.

Squeeks: That's okay, Nature Cat.

I applaud you for setting boundaries.

Hal, Daisy, come on, let's do this!

(laughing)

Hal: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

This is even more fun than I thought!

I feel like the King of Spring!

Boing!

Daisy: Oh yeah! This feels amazing.

Squeeks: I am the water.

I am the mud.

I am one with nature.

Nature Cat: One with nature?

Feels amazing? King of Spring?

Nature Cat: Hmm.

Hal: Playing out here is incredible,

but I wish Nature Cat was here with us too.

Daisy: Yeah, it doesn't feel right without him.

Squeeks: You guys! Look!

Nature Cat: Onward and out-of-the-way-ward!

(splat)

Nature Cat: Um, that felt...amazing!

I have to do that again!

Daisy: Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Hal: Way to go buddy!

Squeeks: Yes! Personal growth!

Woo!

(raindrops splashing)

Nature Cat: Oooh, squishy!

Who knew that being out in the rain could be such an incredible

way to enjoy nature?

Hal: (chuckles) I did!
