[JOHN GRUNTING]

[EXHALES DEEPLY]

[JOHN CONTINUES GRUNTING]

You, uh, want some help? [SIGHS]

No, I'm good.

Seriously.

Let him help.

[SIGHS]

- So, what are these for?
- It's a perimeter fence.

Like we had back at home when things got, uh Except this one's not meant to keep out people.

So, uh, your mom and I, we're gonna be heading out.

We're gonna check whether anyone else has had better luck contacting the Resolute than we have.

This will keep you safe while we're gone.

We're already safe.

We've got him.

Maybe.

[SOFTLY]

Look, we don't know what it is yet.

We don't know anything about Dr.

Smith, but you're not worried about her.

Yeah, well, that's different.

Why? Well, she can't hammer metal stakes into the ground like they're toothpicks.

Let's talk about this later, hmm? Why don't you and your sisters start the Jupiter expansion protocols? Looks like we might be here for a while.

[FEMALE ANNOUNCER]

Welcome to Alpha Centauri.

Welcome to your new life.

It's been a long journey for you.

Almost 26 trillion miles.

But you are home now.

- You've joined a community
- I like it here.

of the best and brightest Look at these people.

Everyone's abs are so well
-defined.

dedicated to building a society that will last generations to come.

[COMPUTER BEEPING]

Please begin expansion now.

Okay, let's get this over with.

It's time to explore, time to discover, time to breathe.

Expansion guides.

[SIGHS]

Check.

"Oh, no, yeah, Mom, I would love to stay here and do 80 boring chores while you get to go out and meet new survivors.

"
- Hydraulic stoppers?
- Check.

"Oh, Judy, you should go, too.

Just in case someone needs you to do something heroic.

" Activate expansion.

[AUTOMATED VOICE]

Clear immediate surroundings.

Expansion failure.

Leave this to me.

[GRUNTING]

Whoo! Yeah! Woo
-hoo! All right.

[WILL CHUCKLES]

That was really something.

[CHUCKLES LIGHTLY]

He never leaves your side, does he? [SIGHS]

Not really.

So protective.

I wish I had a friend like that.

[SIGHS]

Have you asked if there are more like him out there? He doesn't talk much.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

The lights in his face, the way they change? I think he's saying a lot.

We just don't know how to hear him yet.

As a therapist, it's part of my job to read people, know what they're thinking.

If you'd like, I could spend some time studying him.

That's okay.

Thank you.

That's nice.

What is? You're protective of him, too.

[SIGHS]

[JOHN]

Let's hope the radio on the Watanabes' Jupiter works better than ours.

We need to talk to the Resolute.

- Let them know our situation.

- Hmm.

What you looking at? Nothing.

Just trying to get my bearings.

Oh, hey, before we get there, nothing about the robot, okay? I shouldn't tell Hiroki? Hiroki's an exobiologist.

He's literally an expert in alien biology.

It's not Hiroki I'm worried about.

[STUTTERS]

Bear left here.

It's who he talks to and then who they talk to.

We don't know how people are gonna react to it.

Or it to them.

The truth will come out eventually.

It always does.

[SQUEAKING]

[IN JAPANESE]

I see.

Astounding.

How strange it is.

No.

How familiar.

It moved with muscular contraction.

It ate.

It evidenced both a fear and a pleasure reflex.

[CHUCKLING]

The universe is a big place.

I imagine things get far stranger than that.

[ALL SQUEAKING]

[HIROKI IN JAPANESE]

They've arrived.

- Oh.

[CHUCKLES]

- I'm so glad!
- Hi Hiroki.

- [HIROKI]

Glad to see you safe.

- [JOHN]

Good to see you.

- [MAUREEN]

So relieved to see you.

- [WOMAN]

Have you heard from the Resolute? [WOMAN 2]

You okay?
- We're fine.

- [JOHN]

Was a rough landing.

[DON]

Okay.

Get back here.

- Get back here.

- [CLUCKING]

Haven't you learned? Only terrible things happen when we go outside.

[SCOFFS]

Hey.

Hi.

Don West.

Which one of you guys is the doctor? I am.

Is the patient inside?
- What is she, like, 17?
- Eighteen.

- [DON PANTING]

- You know, I can find my own way.

Don West.

I'm the one who saved her life.

In case you were wondering who else saves lives around here.

I wasn't really.

I found the ejector seat and promptly administered first aid,
- but she never woke up.

[SIGHS]

- She was unconscious when you found her? She's awake now.

Not that it makes much of a difference.

[SOFTLY]

They say she's the doctor.

My name is Judy Robinson.

Can you tell me yours? [DON]

She hasn't said a word.

Hey.

You've been through a lot.

I guess we all have.

[MAUREEN]

Do you have any idea what happened up on the Resolute? [WOMAN]

No.

Nothing yet.

So how many of us are there?
- There are 63 survivors.

- Casualties? Twenty
-seven.

We were able to map the locations of 12 Jupiters before we landed.

Thirteen now, including yours.

And not one of these ships can take off? Methanogenic chordates.

The eels.

[HIROKI]

They metabolize hydrocarbons.

We are all quite stranded.

[JOHN]

Okay, what about the What's the technical term for the thing in the bathroom that recycles the
- Thermal degradation reactor.

- Yeah.

For us to produce enough bodily waste to get a Jupiter into orbit would take years.

Excuse me.

They're in range.

[MAUREEN]

Here.

[OVER RADIO]

This is Captain Radic broadcasting from the Resolute.

It's day three, 1400 hours.

Resolute, this is Naoko Watanabe of the Jupiter 11.

Please respond.

Repairs are proceeding.

We've identified and sealed all leaks Resolute, this is Naoko Watanabe of the Jupiter 11.

Please respond.

You can't reach them either.

They should be receiving our signals.

You said these were Jupiter locations? [NAOKO]

Yes.

Why? [JOHN]

This one isn't a Jupiter.

There's something else out there.

[ANGELA WINCES]

I'm not gonna hurt you.

I promise.

I'm gonna give you something to help with the pain.

[WHISPERS]

Angela.

It's nice to meet you, Angela.

[MAUREEN]

The image is hard to make out, but it's definitely man
-made.

Maybe that's part of the Resolute.

One of the outer storage modules.

[MAUREEN]

There could be equipment there.

Something we could use to amplify our broadcast so they could hear us.

A synthesizer, at the very least.

Let's go take a look.

- You got those radio comms?
- Mmm
-hmm.

Hey! I'll come, too.

Uh, no.

We're okay.

Okay, sure, I get it.

To get the comm supplies, you go to F level, aft bay.

Make three rights and then hook the second left.

It's compartment 46.

Or you could just bring me with you.

I mean, it's really smart of you to bring me along.

Seriously, credit to both of you.

You didn't hesitate.

You said, "You know what? We gotta find our way.

We need Don West.

- 'Cause the two of us alone"
- Penny, Will.

[OVER RADIO]

Can you hear me? Are you there? Yeah, I'm here, Mom.

Where else would I be? Your dad and I need to recover some equipment, so we won't be back for a while.

Okay.

And when do I get to get some fresh air? If you need to leave the Jupiter, which you shouldn't, stay behind the fence.

And Judy will be back soon to look after you.

Since when do I need a babysitter? Since we were att*cked by giant eels.

Who knows what else is on this planet.

Just stay behind the fence.

Both of you.

[CONNECTION ENDS]

[ANGELA SIGHS]

How did this happen? It was an att*ck.

What was? You can tell me.

It wasn't an accident.

The Resolute it was att*cked.

att*cked? By who? [PANTING]

Hey, have you seen my parents? They went for supplies.

Said to take the Chariot home.

Look after brother and sister.

Okay, thank you.

- Everything all right?
- Yeah.

Guess who? You're right.

It's missing something.

What are you drawing? An eight? You wouldn't know what an eight looks like.

A headless snowman with five dots.

[SIGHS]

This appears to be the first known work of art of an artificial intelligence of alien origin.

Medium, dirt from unknown planet.

What would you like to call your masterpiece? [ROBOT]

Danger.

Let's try something else.

[CHARIOT DOOR WHIRRING]

It's called tic
-tac
-toe.

Will.

- Can I talk to you for a second?
- Uh Alone.

What is it? I just saw a patient.

She told me what happened on the Resolute.

She said we were att*cked.

By a thing with four arms, blades all over its skin, a glowing red face.

Of course, I wondered what she was talking about.

Until she said it was like some kind of robot.

Oh, my God.

- You knew.

- No.

Where are you going?
- To call Mom and Dad.

- You can't.

It's dangerous.

- He's different now.

- It's not a he, Will.

It's an it.

He saved your life.

Hey, missed you.

[JUDY]

J2 to Chariot 11.

J2 to Chariot 11.

Anybody? Dad? Hey.

Where you going? Oh, I'm just [BEEPING]

going to collect more stuff.

You think that's a good idea? Your mom said to stay inside the perimeter.

Yeah, but I'll be safe.

I'm taking the robot.

Oh, hey, don't forget your map.

[CHUCKLES]

- Do me a favor?
- Don't tell your parents.

I was 11 once, too.

Thanks.

Finders keepers.

- Mom? Dad? Anyone?
- [RADIO STATIC]

[SIGHS]

Why isn't this thing working? It's working fine.

It's just resetting itself after the power spike.

Power spike? Yeah.

Takes, like, 30 minutes to come back on.

Is this about Will? Is that why he left? He what? Yeah, with the robot.

[COMPUTER BEEPING]

The perimeter fence is turned off.

What's going on? You gonna say it? Okay, then.

No danger.

Yet.

[JUDY]

Will! [WILL]

Come on, it's okay.

Hey, you can't be out here! Get back inside.

So we can wait around until you tell Dad? No, thanks.

Wait.

[PANTING]

[SIGHS]

We've all been wondering what happened with the Resolute.

Why we crashed here.

And now the reason is standing right next to you.

- Why doesn't that scare you?
- Because he's changed.

- That's not good enough.

- How come you don't believe me? Believing has nothing to do with it, Will.

It is about me protecting you.

He's protecting me.

And what if it changes again? Will, stop.

Don't you always say that people make mistakes sometimes, and that they deserve a second chance? Maybe people do, but He's more like us than you think.

Look, there's a cave a few miles in this direction.

Let me hide him away there.

That way everyone's safe from everyone.

Isn't that what you want anyway? [SIGHS]

Look, Judy, I'm not crazy.

I know we're gonna have to tell Dad the truth.

Just let me be the one to do it.

[SIGHS]

[PENNY]

Guys! You guys realize we're on the wrong side of the fence? So whatever's going on here, I think it's great.

Or not.

Hello? Okay, someone is gonna tell me what's going on, though, right? Ugh, I'd feel better if Debbie was here.

For luck.

I think she's better off being looked after by my daughter.

Oh, no, that's Angela.

- Who the hell's Debbie?
- The chicken.

- You only met one chicken.

- You named it Debbie? Any chicken that saves my life deserves a name.

Okay, I'm listening.

[DON]

It turns out she has a locator chip on her ankle.

- [MAUREEN]

All livestock have that.

- [DON]

That's how the Watanabes found us, a moment before an entire desert of black death almost dumped on my head.

That is a lucky chicken.

Kind of wish she was here now.

What could have caused a piece this size to break off the Resolute? [JOHN]

I don't know.

Meteor? [DON]

I've always hated meteors.

Always.

I'm on record for it.

[MAUREEN]

A meteor didn't cause this.

[JOHN]

So what did? So do you believe him? What? That it's changed? Yeah.

I mean, it's been pretty helpful so far.

If it did something bad once, it can do it again.

[PENNY]

Okay, then what are we doing? [JUDY]

Helping our brother hide that thing.

And then I'm gonna tell Dad exactly where it is.

Will's right.

Say what you want about our father, but he knows how to handle a problem.

Hey, come on.

You're flagging.

Have something to eat.

[RUSTLING]

Check it out.

Huh? It's beautiful.

[WILL]

This is so cool.

[CLAP ECHOING]

- [DISTANT ROARING]

- [GASPS]

[WILL]

What was that? [ROBOT]

Danger, Will Robinson.

- Okay, we shouldn't be out here.

- [PENNY]

Yup.

- Come on.

- [PENNY]

Yeah, let's get moving.

[LOW SNARLING]

[PENNY]

I don't know.

Maybe we should turn back.

[JUDY]

Will, how much farther to the cave?
- Okay.

- [BEEPS]

- Less than a mile.

- [LOW SNARLING]

- [JUDY]

Listen.

- [DISTANT ROARING]

I think something's out there.

Run! [JUDY]

Whoa.

- [PENNY]

Okay.

- [JUDY SIGHS]

Is there another way around?
- Doesn't seem to be.

- [JUDY]

There's nowhere to go.

Where's the robot? [WOOD SPLINTERING]

See? Useful.

- [PENNY]

Okay.

Okay.

- Come on.

Come on, Penny.

- Go slow.

- [PENNY]

Careful.

- [WILL]

Okay.

Okay.

- Slow.

[CREATURE GROWLING NEARBY]

[LOW SNARLING]

[ALL PANTING]

- [MIMICS CREATURE ROAR]

- [CREATURE RETREATING]

[GROWLS]

Yeah!
- [JUDY]

Careful, hey!
- [PENNY]

Careful, Will!
- Sorry.

- Watch out, Will.

- Sorry.

- [PENNY]

Okay.

[WILL]

Yeah! [PENNY]

Keep going.

Keep your balance.

Come on.

[JOHN]

Have you guys found anything yet? [DON]

Uh, no.

There's, uh, nothing here.

What about you? Any luck? No.

Just some 3
-D printer spools.

[DON]

Anybody need a coffee cup? Got, like, a million of them.

Catch.

[CHUCKLES]

Hey, you've been there a few times, right? Alpha Centauri.

What's What's it like? It might be billed as the promised land, but they don't have everything there, so start adjusting your expectations.

Like, uh, what don't they have? For starters, they don't have peat from the Orkney Islands.

Can't have paradise without quality whiskey.

The real problem with your colony is the people.

You travel across millions of miles of space and everybody thinks it's gonna be so different.

Whatever people think that they're running away from on Earth, they're just bringing it all with them.

[GRUNTS]

- Hey! I found it.

- Yeah? [MAUREEN]

It's over here.

[DON]

Oh! No, no, no.

Wait a minute.

That might not be the [MAUREEN]

What the hell is this? [JOHN]

Well, that's whiskey.

Okay, don't be angry but, uh, this is my stuff.

You're a smuggler? Ah, I mean, that's just a nasty word.

You know, I would say a merchant of goods and products and beverages.

You ditched the back
-up frequency synthesizers so you could store your stash? Why didn't you use the box with the cups in it?
- Again, with your choice of words
- We needed them! [SIGHS]

[SIGHING]

In your experience, does she forget about things quickly, or does she tend to stay mad? You knew the synthesizers weren't here before we left.

But to be fair, before we left, I didn't know what they were.

John.

Yeah? What is it? There's the reason they haven't been able to hear our broadcasts.

They never will.

Okay, listen.

I can explain this.

So are we doing like an IOU, or Okay.

Well, this one's on me.

[BEEPING]

My, what strong hands you have.

[LOUD CLANGING]

No.

No, no, no, no no.

It doesn't work like that.

There aren't flowers everywhere.

These are rocks.

Flowers grow in dirt.

Hey, that cave isn't too much farther, right? We gotta go before Mom and Dad get home.

Penny! [SIGHS]

[PENNY]

When we get to Alpha Centauri, you think they'll trade us up for one of those family dwelling units in town? [JUDY]

I'm not sure, exactly.

[PENNY]

Okay.

I mean, living in the Jupiter's fine.

That's It's okay.

[JUDY]

You can have my room if you want.

[PENNY]

Where are you gonna sleep? Well, there's lodging at the medical facilities.

Wait, you're moving out?
- [MAN]

Let's tighten it up.

- What was that? [INDISTINCT CHATTER]

[JUDY]

Come on, hide.

We can't let them see the robot.

[MAN]

You have to pick up the pace.

My Jupiter's only another six kilometers from here.

[WOMAN]

It's hard not to get distracted.

Did you see those Marchantiophyta?
- [WHISPERING]

No, hide!
- No, get back.

if they even are Marchantiophyta [MAN]

We can continue this when we're safe at my camp.

I recognize that guy.

That's our colony representative.

Pretty sure Mom voted for the other guy.

- Vijay, what did I just say?
- I'm coming, Dad.

[BREATHES HEAVILY]

- [JUDY]

Hey, get down.

- [PENNY]

I'm down.

Okay.

It's okay.

Okay.

Hey.

I think someone dropped this.

- [PENNY]

What is it?
- It's an envelope.

[WILL]

Should we open it? [PENNY]

No, it's not ours.

- [VIJAY]

Hey.

- Hi.

Where are you guys coming from? Are you with the Jupiter we passed back Hey, that's mine.

Sorry, I'm gonna need that back.

Oh! What? This thing? Seriously, give it back.

[HEAVY FOOTSTEPS]

- Get down!
- [JUDY]

Oh, my God!
- [WILL]

Hey!
- [PENNY]

Okay.

It's okay.

He's with us.

- What is that?
- It's kind of a long story.

- It's not that long.

- It is when you tell it.

Hey! Hey, Dad [PENNY]

Okay!
- Here's the thing.

- Hey! We're gonna need you to keep this quiet, okay? My dad is in charge.

He needs to know about this.

No, actually, your dad's in charge on Alpha Centauri.

When we get there, tell him whatever you want.

Until that point, this needs to stay our little secret.

- I don't trust him.

- [PENNY]

I do.

Why's that? Because if whatever's in this is as important as it seems, he's gonna do what we say.

Do we have a deal? Okay.

I didn't think we'd run into anybody.

Just come on.

Let's get this over with.

[WILL]

Please.

- [JUDY]

Hurry up.

- [PENNY]

I'm coming.

Whoa.

[WILL]

You think think he'll be okay here? Yeah.

Yeah, I think he'll be fine.

It's getting late.

We need to head back.

[MAUREEN OVER RADIO]

Hey, guys, where are you? Guys? Why is nobody answering at the Jupiter? No, we're here.

We're here, but, uh, we're busy.

Okay, are your sisters there? Hey, Mom, sorry.

We're, uh We are actually outside right now.

We are checking and securing the pop
-outs.

It doesn't look like your dad and I are gonna get back tonight.

Why? Is everything okay? We've run into a bit of car trouble.

[DON]

Try it again.

- [MOTOR STRUGGLING]

- [JOHN]

No.

Somehow that's worse.

That's what I was afraid of.

You wouldn't be the first colonist to accidentally drain the batteries.

Are you saying it's my fault? [MAUREEN]

There's not enough daylight left to get a full recharge from the solar cells.

So, I don't think we'll be back till morning.

Don't forget to double check the perimeter before you shut down.

[JUDY]

Yeah, we already did.

I feel a little better leaving you guys, knowing that the robot's there.

Yeah, about that About what? Judy, are you there? Judy? We'll talk about it when you get back.

- Bye, Mom.

- Uh, I'll see you tomorrow.

[SILENT]

So, maybe now that we're not in a hurry, we could stick around a little bit longer.

Yeah.

It's getting dark outside and if it's this dangerous during the day, I don't wanna see what it's like at night.

Fine.

But we leave at first light, okay? [WILL WHISPERS]

Thanks.

[ANIMAL CALLING IN DISTANCE]

[JUDY AND WILL PANTING]

[PENNY]

Ta
-da! Really, Penny? You tagged the wall? Okay, I admit it's not exactly worthy of Lascaux.

The ancient cave paintings from prehistoric times?
- Paleolithic.

- Upper Paleolithic.

You're missing the point.

This is the same red ocher, here, a billion, billion miles away.

It's vandalism.

[PENNY]

No, it's not.

No one knows what those ancient cave paintings were for.

Why did early humans start to draw? I think I figured it out.

You paint a picture so you can sign it.

We might be tiny infinitesimal blips in the universe, but we made it here.

Come on, it says "The Robinsons.

"
- Come on.

- [WILL]

You know you wanna.

Okay.

Okay.

[MAUREEN SIGHS]

[JOHN]

Don't worry about the dish.

You'll come up with another way to reach the Resolute.

What if that was it, that was my last plan? And now there's just no more plans? Never gonna happen.

[JOHN GRUNTS AND SIGHS]

[SIGHS]

[SIGHS]

[MAUREEN GASPS]

[JOHN]

What is that? [MAUREEN]

Wow.

Guys Guys, you gotta come see this.

[GASPS]

I know I didn't tell you I was leaving.

Because I, um I don't know.

I honestly thought that you'd be happy about it.

Yeah, 'cause you're, like, super annoying most of the time.

Yeah, I know.

Hey, at least you still got Will to boss around.

[PENNY]

It's really not as rewarding as you'd think.

- [JOHN]

A lot of stars out there.

- [MAUREEN]

Hmm.

[JOHN]

Hmm.

I wonder which one is ours.

The one we came from, or the one we're going to? [JOHN CHUCKLES]

At this point, I'm not that picky.

Yeah.

[SIGHS]

It's not like it's the first time we've been lost.

That was not my fault.

That was absolutely your fault.

Every hill just led to a bigger, steeper hill.

Every hill in Tuscany is a magnificent thing of beauty.

We had to sleep outside that church.

It was your idea to go hiking.

You're the one who left the compass at the hotel.

Well, it was our honeymoon and I was trying to impress you
- with my orienteering skills.

- Really? Well, you impressed me in other ways.

So So when we finally get there, do you have any idea where you plan on living? What? On Alpha Centauri.

I mean, I I guess I want to be as close to you and the kids as possible, so Sure, but for how long? I'm sorry.

Did I
- [SIGHS]

- Did I miss something?
- Forget it.

- No, did I do something wrong? No, listen.

Believe me, it's better if we don't even get into it.

Maureen, please don't shut me down like that.

Talk to me.

I found the letter, John.

What letter? Maureen, hey, wait! [RUMBLING]

Earthquake.

[METAL CREAKING]

No, John! No! Get down! [JOHN]

Hey, you okay? [MAUREEN]

Yeah, you? [JOHN]

Yeah.

[BOTH PANTING]

Here.

We could have made it.

No, John, we couldn't have.

- [MAUREEN]

Have you got a signal?
- [JOHN]

No.

Hey! Hey, Don! Little help in here, please.

[THUDS ECHOING]

[JOHN SIGHS]

He'll figure it out eventually.

Yeah? What are we gonna do until then? For the record, I wasn't snooping.

The letter, when it came, I I opened it by accident.

Who even uses regular mail nowadays, anyway? It had that little blue logo in the corner of the envelope, the one that comes on all the invites for the m*llitary social functions, and I guess I just I think I was just excited to get dressed up.

It had been so long since we'd been dancing.

And then I read it and I I remember so well where I was because I was supposed to be picking up Judy from soccer and I just sat in the car in the parking lot crying.

And not because you lied to me, but because I was gonna have to lie to the kids.

And I couldn't tell them the truth.

That their father wasn't ordered back to his combat post.

That he didn't actually have to go, but that he chose to go.

Chose to go 6,000 miles away.

You know, the world we left behind was a big place.

And not all of us had the luxury of only feeling responsible for our small little part of it.

- That is so not fair.

- Hey, you could've asked me to stay.

You didn't.

So, while we're being honest, let's not pretend that my leaving wasn't for the best.

So is that what we're doing now? Pretending?
- [KNOCK ON METAL]

- [DON]

You guys in there? Hey.

[DON]

Finally.

I've been looking all over for you.

You okay? Yeah.

Just wish we weren't in here.

[DON]

Well, hold tight.

I gotcha.

Just so you know, it's gonna take some time to get you out.

- [MAUREEN SIGHS]

- [BOTH]

Great.

[WATER DRIPPING NEARBY]

[HEAVY FOOTSTEPS APPROACHING]

[GROWLING]

[SIGHS]

[GRUNTS]

Whoo! Good morning! Hope you guys slept well.

I myself spent the whole night looking through crates for some shaped charges to blow this beautiful hole and save your lives.

Now, do I want any kind of compensation? Let's go! [STAMMERS]

Yeah.

Just For my collection? Thanks.

That's a good one.

[JUDY]

Come on, we've gotta get home before Mom and Dad do.

We'll come back for you.

I have to go.

And you have to stay here.

[ROBOT]

Danger, Will Robinson.

No, you're the one in danger.

And I know you want to come, but you can't.

You have to stay here.

Okay? No.

Stay here.

[MAN OVER RADIO]

Jupiter 4 to Chariot 11.

Come in, Chariot 11.

[CLEARS THROAT]

This is C
-11.

Naoko, have you heard from the Robinsons? No one's responding at their Jupiter.

Hello, Victor.

This is Maureen Robinson.

[OVER RADIO]

We borrowed the Watanabes' Chariot.

Maureen, I was glad to hear you survived.

Next time you want to go off visiting friends, clear it with me first.

- For your own safety.

- I voted for the other guy.

- Yeah? Well, I didn't get a vote.

- I've been trying to reach you because no one's able to establish contact with the Resolute.

We're gonna need to amplify the signal.

About that, that's not gonna work.

We found the Resolute's satellite dish.

It's down here.

Here? Yeah.

That changes things, doesn't it? Yes, it does.

We're gonna need a plan B.

I'll be at your Jupiter in an hour with some other survivors.

Be ready to get your hands dirty.

[DON]

You know, I can take this back to the Watanabes by myself.

- No, we're fine.

Thanks.

- No big deal.

Yeah.

Hey, thanks.

- See you later.

- See you.

Hello? Anyone here? We're back.

[MAUREEN]

Penny! Will! Judy? Dr.

Smith? Weird.

- [MAUREEN]

Hi!
- Oh, hey, buddy.

Will.

Will.

- Oh.

- [MAUREEN CHUCKLES]

- Hey, guys.

- Hi.

Oh.

Hello.

I didn't expect you back so soon.

Hi, honey.

Hi, Mama.

- [PANTING]

Hey, Mom.

- So everything been okay here?
- It was boring.

- Yeah, it was really boring.

Where's the robot? Hmm? What's going on? I I don't know.

I think he wandered off.

- [MAUREEN]

Wandered off?
- Yeah.

We considered going after him.

It just seemed pretty irresponsible.

Okay.

I guess, uh, someone has to go find it.

I hope it hasn't gone far.

[JOHN SIGHS]

- You said "he.

"
- What? The robot.

- You called him "he.

"
- It's just a pronoun.

Hey, you are gonna tell Dad the truth tomorrow, right? Will? Yeah.

Sure.

Okay.

You guys think he'll be okay out there? The robot? Yeah.

You picked a good spot.

We're the only ones who know where he is.

He'll be fine.

[SMITH]

Alone.

At last.

I was thinking you and I could get to know one another.

After all, we have so much in common.

We were both someone else up on the Resolute.

Someone to keep secret from the folks down here.

The way I see it, I think you and I could help one another.

The question is how? Will said when he found you, you were in pieces.

Wounded.

Dying.

If only I'd gotten there sooner, it could have been me.

Which would have made all this a whole lot easier.

Don't worry, I won't hurt you.

Just like I know you would never hurt me.

Will made sure of that.

Told you never to hurt anyone.

Ever.

Turns out that's a bit of a problem.

See, I can't go back to the Resolute without some protection.

The kind that only you can provide.

But if we're gonna work together, I need you to have all your options on the table.

You want to belong.

Which is why you think you're doing the right thing by following whatever that boy tells you to do.

But the thing you'll learn about people is they're unreliable.

They're not loyal like you are.

They'll turn on you.

[ROBOT]

Will Robinson.

Yes.

Even Will Robinson.

And when he does who will be there to save you? Me.
