Boys. We got a contender here.

Yeah? You think?

- Oh, dude.
- What?

- No chance.
- What? Come on.

I'm going for it.

Watch and learn, boys.

I'm going in.

[ROCK MUSIC PLAYING]

Hey. How you doing tonight?

- Can I buy you a drink?
- I already have one.

No, I mean, like, a real drink.

Hey, Mia.

Mia, can we get this lady
here some Grand-Dad?

- No, no.
- On me.

No. I... I'm good.

I'm... I'm meeting somebody.

Oh. You don't look like it.

So, uh, Valerie, how...

- Dude. What the hell?
- Sorry.

Sorry. That's my bad.

Look, I'm not interested, okay?

So please just leave me alone.

I could. I could.

Or, um, I could take you home

and help you get out
of those wet clothes.

[CHUCKLES]

You're disgusting.

I have to go.

Whoa.

See that move right there?

Pete, come on.

There's plenty more
where that came from.

Listen, how about you and me
go out there and...

Move your ass, loser.

[GLASS SHATTERS]

Nice.

[LAUGHTER]

[TENSE MUSIC]

You bring both things?

Just relax. We're okay.

Hey, bitch.

I ain't paying for that glass.

Who's this?

You were supposed to come alone.

I did... it's just some
drunk guy from the bar.

I mean it! Get your ass back in there!

- Get off me!
- Hey. Let go of her!

[LAUGHS]

What the hell was that?

You two making some kind of deal here?

- It's none of your business.
- Well, it is now.

[CHUCKLES] Give me the money.

dr*gs too.

Look, that's not what this is.

What, do you think I'm kidding here?

- Give it!
- [g*nshots]

[SCREAMING]

He saw our faces. Go!

Get out of here!

[ENGINE TURNS OVER]

My God. Woody, what are you doing?

- Ask you the same thing.
- Are you stalking me?

Whatever you're up to,
I suggest you go now.

[ENGINE TURNS OVER]

How's work?

It's good. Good.

I mean, I'm not sure
anyone even likes me at work.

I mean, who likes their boss, right?

I've been through two
new agents since Kristin left,

but I finally found
a replacement for her.

Her name is Nina Chase.

She starts today.

Good.

I know that's been weighing on you.

It was actually my team's idea.

She used to work for another
FBI squad upstairs.

So she knows how we roll,

and I don't have to break her in.

I don't know why I didn't
think of it sooner.

Although...

What?

When I met with her yesterday, she...

she said something
that kind of put me off.

She asked if Kristin's leaving
had anything to do with me.

I guess I just didn't care for
the tone of Nina's question.

It was like she was implying
something about me.

You have been going through a lot lately

with the documentary on your
brother's case coming out.

That's personal.

It's never affected my work, ever.

Okay. I believe you.

[PENSIVE MUSIC]

So we've covered work, your mother,

the Jets having a terrible season.

Mm. Terrible. [CHUCKLES]

What am I missing?

Something is obviously on your mind.

Yeah.

Um...

What's that?

These are all to Corey.

- Your nephew.
- Yeah.

I've been sweeter than
pineapple juice to this kid,

and he's never replied to me.

Remy, he's a fourth-year
medical student, right?

- I'm sure he's just busy.
- I don't think so.

We've been talking
on the phone every now and then

up until a month ago,
and now he's ghosting me.

A month ago is when
the documentary came out.

Has he seen it?

I don't know. Maybe.

It could have triggered him again.

He could just be processing.

Yeah.

I mean, he doesn't even talk
to his own mother anymore.

I wanted to be there for him

so we could process it together.

We're family.

You want my advice?

It's kind of what I'm paying you for.

[BOTH CHUCKLE]

Technically, you are family,

but it was a pretty big b*mb
you dropped in his lap

when you told him about Mikey.

Trauma is fluid.

It ebbs and flows, and everyone
reacts to it differently.

My point is, I don't think this
has anything to do with you.

Try not to take it personally.

[SIGHS]

So what do I do?

- Nothing.
- Nothing.

You're gonna have to give him his space.

Just wait for him to come to you.

You're gonna have to be patient.

[PHONE CHIMES]

Is that him? Is that Corey?

No.

Someone named Barnes.

He says a case just came in.

She.

I gotta go.

Knock, knock.

There she is.

Nina Chase is in the building.

I got the Bat-call, so I came
straight to the Batcave.

You look great. How's the baby?

Thank you. Wonderful.

Sleeps wonderfully, doesn't
talk back, unlike his dad,

and everything's wonderful.

[CHUCKLES] I have my stuff.
Where's my desk?

- You have a locker, no desk.
- Yeah.

The only person with
a station around here is Hana.

- Very special.
- Yes, you are.

Nice to see you.

Good to see you too.

This is all very exciting.

Morning, everybody.

- Welcome, Nina.
- Thanks.

Catch me up to speed.

m*rder and abduction

outside a bar in
Salisbury, Virginia last night.

DOA on the left is Pete Sky,

Missing woman on the right
is Valerie Watkins.

Case is ours 'cause
she's a federal employee,

works for NASA at their flight control

facility on Wallops Island.

Anybody see it happen?

One of Pete's friends, Jud.

He said that Pete and Valerie
were at the bar talking.

They went outside.
He heard two g*nshots.

He ran out with another buddy.

That's when they saw Pete
dead on the ground.

They also saw a Toyota
registered to Valerie

driving away with a white male
in the backseat yelling at her.

Said she looked like she was terrified.

What's the relationship
between Pete and Valerie?

Unknown.

Could it have to do with Valerie's work?

Valerie's cell is off,

and she didn't show up for work today.

And the BOLO is out on the Toyota.

Virginia State Police
are currently searching

the 45-mile stretch between Salisbury

- and Wallops Island.
- All right.

Let's hit the road and get some answers.

You three take the crime scene.

Nina and I will go see
Valerie's coworkers at NASA.

- Hey. Let me see your phone.
- Sure. What's up?

I'm gonna transfer you
everyone's contacts.

Apologies in advance for Ray's picture.

- What?
- This should be interesting.

[LAUGHS]

That's her, but I don't know
what Jud was talking about.

She wasn't hanging out with Pete.

She was trying to get him
to leave her alone.

He wouldn't stop hitting
on her, and it was gross.

So they didn't know each other?

No, but that never stopped Pete before.

He was a pain in the ass,
especially when he was drunk.

We got two 40-caliber shell casings

and the Kn*fe that Pete was holding.

Now, he must have pulled it out
to fight off the att*ck,

but there's no blood on it.

Any luck on video?

So one cam inside got
the two of them at the bar,

but there's nothing here.

I'm gonna check the street cams.

Anything else you can
think of that might help us?

I do remember she seemed nervous.

She said she was meeting somebody.

Who?

I have no idea.

Okay. Thank you.

Valerie is a good employee...

quiet, works hard, just does her job.

Which is what?

IT integration specialist.

She makes sure the software
in our launch vehicles

interface properly
with the payloads we deliver.

Are those payloads
government or m*llitary?

No. We're a third-tier facility.

It's mostly mundane stuff
like weather balloons

and low-orbit satellites
for our private sector clients.

Why do you ask?

Just trying to figure out
if Valerie's abduction

is related to her job.

Can't imagine...

Hi. I'm Special Agent Nina Chase.

I'm Alison.

Thanks for your time, Alvin.

Did you know Valerie?

Yeah, she was my best friend
here at work.

Okay, do you mind if we
ask you some questions?

Sure.

This is Alison. She knows Valerie.

What can you tell us about her?

Well, she's nice, and she's smart,

but she's also kind of private.

So...

Listen, we need to find
Valerie, and fast,

so anything that you can tell us.

It's okay.

[SOFT MUSIC]

She's been going through
a really rough time lately...

money problems, a sick sister,

but mostly her boyfriend, Woody.

Val's been talking
about breaking up with him,

but she's been too afraid.

Is he violent?

I wouldn't put it past him.

Look, I don't know his last name

or where he lives,
but he runs a crab boat

- for some rich guy around here.
- [PHONE CHIMES]

It's called the "Ann Blanche."

Val's always talking about
how bad he stinks.

[CHUCKLES] Excuse me a second.

Hey, Ray. What's up?

Divers found a vehicle
submerged in the pond

by Pocomoke Creek
right off of Highway 13.

Is it the Toyota?

Yeah, they're pulling in
the tow rig now.

Look, we're pulling up to Val's
last known, so you're closer.

We'll take it, and circle back.

- All right.
- Can you do me a favor?

Text Hana.

Tell her about the boyfriend
and have her check

the "Ann Blanche's" registration

with Fish and Game. Done.

Okay, Nina Chase. I see you.

You screwed up, Travis.

Valerie saw you sh**t that man.

Just calm down
and quit stressing me out.

It has been 12 hours.

What if she went to the police?

After what she sold us, no way.

She's probably halfway to Mexico by now.

We just stick with the plan
and wait for Caploe.

[PHONE RINGING]

[TENSE MUSIC]

- It's Valerie.
- Don't answer.

She could be with the cops.

Hello.

I don't know who you are

or what you're up to with my girlfriend,

but I do know I'm sitting here
with 100,000 cash in my hands,

and my guess is, there's more
where that came from.

You've got the wrong number.

I don't know what the hell
you're talking about.

Oh, yeah?

Two to the gut right after
he drew the Kn*fe.

You ran off in a red Toyota,
license plate 3X5TC21.

I made sure to write it down.

Where's Valerie?

Don't worry about her.

I want another 100K in cash,

or I tell the cops what I saw.

That's gonna take time.

You have one hour.
Text me when you have it.

We don't have another 100K in cash.

We don't need it, Millie.

We just say that we have it,
and we arrange a meetup.

What, you gonna sh**t him too?

No. Caploe will take care of it.
He's the boss.

He'll handle it.

- What have we got?
- Whole lot of nothing.

Passenger compartment
and trunk were empty.

No body and no personal effects

like a phone, purse, or ID either.

- Windows were already down?
- Yeah.

Divers are about
to search the creek bottom

to see if anything
fell out when we pulled it.

All right. Thanks.

Where the hell is she?

Talk to me.

Tire tracks, probably
from the getaway vehicle.

Your shadow's in the way.

Stance is wider than normal,
and so are the tracks.

Claw pattern tread bar impression.

I mean, based on that
and these spin-outs,

I'm guessing we're looking
for a Jeep or a truck,

four-wheel drive
with aftermarket off-road tires

that are worn way down.

Jubal teach you all that?

I know cars. It's kind of my thing.

Barnes told me that
Pete was harassing Valerie,

so maybe we got this wrong.

Maybe the boyfriend was here
to pick her up.

They sh*t Pete, took off,
and ditched the car here.

So Valerie is an accomplice,
not a victim.

- [PHONE RINGING]
- I don't know. Maybe.

Hana, the Toyota is empty,
and Valerie's still missing.

We ID'd her boyfriend.

His name's Elwood McCarron.

He has priors for as*ault and theft.

He wasn't at his last known,
but his crab boat's

registered to a slip
at Watts Bay Marina.

- We're on our way now.
- All right.

Send me the address and check
to see if this guy owns

any kind of Jeep or truck.
We'll meet you there.

Copy that.

Ray and Barnes with me.

You two cover the docks
just in case he tries to run.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Elwood McCarron.

FBI.

He's got a g*n.

Stop. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!

[g*nshots]

Hey. You guys all right?

Yeah. He's dead meat.

Remy, over here.

That's Valerie.

[SIGHS]

Hey, guys. I got a laptop here.

Looks like Woody was on it.

I got three text messages.

"I have it.

"Meet 2:30, Clarkston Ave, Salisbury.

Come alone."

Whose phone is that?

- Dead guy.
- Okay.

Now we just need to figure
out who the meetup is with

and what it's about.

Well, it probably has
something to do with this.

Whoa.

Where'd he get all this?

Well, I doubt it's from crabbing.

You wanna respond?

Hell, yeah, I wanna respond.

Keep whoever this is on the hook.

- Hana.
- Yeah. I got the laptop.

Keep digging on it.
Call the coroner and wait for the ERT.

The rest of us are gonna crash
this mysterious meetup.

[CAMERA SHUTTER SNAPS]

[TENSE MUSIC]

Anybody see anything?

Negative.

I'm gonna try to flush these jokers out.

Hey. Right there.

Blue Chevy by the curb.

You guys see the guy with the phone?

All right, let's move.

We got a bogey... blue van coming in.

Yeah, I see it.

Looks like he knows them.

Everybody, stand down.

Driver's a white male.
No one in the passenger seat.

Ooh. What's going on? Is the meet off?

Hey, he's got a woman with him.

Who's that?

She has something in her hand.

Let's hit it. Move.

[TIRES SCREECHING]

FBI!

Hands in the air where I can see them.

On the ground now!

Someone's in the back!

[g*nshots]

[TIRES SCREECHING]

Sheryll, let me drive!

[TIRES SCREECHING]

Where'd you learn to drive like this?

East Texas.

I grew up racing dirt tracks
with my dad.

Hang on.

There's the van.

Bye!

- [SCREAMS]
- Hey! Whoa!

[HORNS HONKING]

- See that? Guy's nuts!
- He almost hit me!

Man.

[SIGHS]

We lost them heading north.

State police are on it
with two choppers.

Sorry about that. I would have had him,

- but a school bus got in the way.
- Don't apologize.

Those kids are lucky
you were behind the wheel.

Anything on these two?

Married couple,
Millie and Travis Chambers.

Travis had a 40-caliber on him,
same as the w*apon that was

used to k*ll Pete at the bar.

So when Valerie said
she was meeting someone,

- it was probably Travis.
- Could be.

Ambiguous what the connection was

or why those pricks in the van
would wanna k*ll them.

Obviously, they wanted
whatever was in that envelope.

We got Travis and Millie's last known.

All right? They were in an
apartment in Snow Hill two weeks ago.

Anything else on them?

Hana's working on it.

Get the address from Ray,
and go check out that apartment.

We'll get with Hana
and see what she knows.

- Text me.
- Yeah.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

- You take care of it?
- Yeah.

Those are the best I could do
on short notice.

What happened?

Travis and Millie are dead?

I had to take 'em out.

Wait.

You k*lled them?

Why?

Because they led the Feds to us.

We are soldiers at w*r, Evan,
and wars have casualties.

Tommy understands that.
Rico understands that.

We all have our reasons
we're doing this,

and we all made the commitment.

Including you.

Cap, I know. I...

Do you remember what I said
about how wars begin?

The price of aggression is cheap.

Yes.

We can love our country
and not our government.

And when our government fails
us, what does the patriot do?

Strikes at tyranny.

At the heart of tyranny,
in a way that can't be ignored.

Travis and Millie had to be
sacrificed for the cause.

But that's handled now,
and we're not stopping.

We stick with the target.
We stick with the plan.

Understand?

Yes.

Good.

Now, get your bag and come on.

These are new?

Yeah, fresh off the rack.

Leave it on.

You'll know when I call.

Cap.

This is for Mallory.

I know.

Valerie had big financial problems.

She was paying for rehab for her sister

at some schmancy clinic in Boston.

Now, she was relying on
a promotion and a raise at NASA

to help cover it.

But for the first time in history,

a qualified woman was
overlooked for the job.

[CHUCKLES]

So she was really pissed.

She filed a lawsuit for discrimination,

but it got dismissed in a technicality.

So twice b*rned by a system

that was supposed to protect her.

Yes, and a desperate need for money.

What's Millie and Travis's
connection to that?

Well, it's weird.
There really isn't any,

but they were in their own legal hell.

Have you heard of the 861ers?

Those knuckleheads, they claim

all federal income taxes
should be illegal.

That was Travis and Millie.

They hadn't filed a return for 12 years.

The IRS slapped a lien on their house,

and it sold at foreclosure last month.

They lost everything.

What'd they think was gonna happen?

Still, that's three people
with really big grudges

against the government.

Now, what about Woody?

Just an opportunist and a stalker.

He had all of Valerie's
passwords saved on his laptop.

He was tracking her texts and emails.

My guess is that he saw
something about meeting up

with Travis, he followed her there,

and he ended up way in over his head.

I mean, he's more into greed
than ideology.

Laptop from Travis and Millie's,

they were all over some
website called Trace Burn.

Well, that tracks.

That place is a cesspool
for anti-government nuts.

Yeah, they were super active
until about a month ago,

then they disappeared
and joined some private

chat page that we couldn't get into.

Okay, that's because
it's a crash-and-trash site.

It's like Snapchat for conspiracy nuts.

They encrypt it so that
all their messages disappear.

Okay. So I'm in the private chat room.

Well, I can't see the messages,

but it looks like there are six users.

I mean, it's safe to say that
two of them are Travis and Millie.

Driver and the sh**t make four.

Who's the other two?

One could be Valerie,

if that's how she and Travis met.

I mean, maybe.

It's impossible to tell.

All of these handles are
anonymous and encrypted.

It's just users one through six.

All right, whoever this is
or whatever they're planning,

we're not gonna get there tonight.

Let's hit the hotel.
Start fresh in the morning.

Nina, can you hang back for a second?

- Sure.
- Good night.

Yeah, good night.

- Good night.
- Night.

When we met the other day,
you asked if Kristin's leaving

had anything to do with me.

Yeah.

What's the question?

I'm just curious.

I've been going through
some family stuff lately,

and I thought I was doing
a good job of keeping it in,

but if you think
it was affecting my work...

No, it wasn't that.

Then what was it?

[SOFT MUSIC]

It was a rumor.

Nina, what did you hear?

That you and Kristin had
a thing outside of work.

[SIGHS]

My personal relationships

are none of your business
or anyone else's.

Is that clear?

Okay.

I understand.

Yeah.

Don't hold it against me.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Will do.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

[GRUNTS]

In and out, fast but careful.

I know.

Won't take long.

I don't think we'll need that.

I'm not taking any chances. Go.

[TENSE MUSIC]

Hana.

Nina.

- Yeah.
- I just got a call

from the National
Reconnaissance Office outside D.C.

Somebody's launched a cyber att*ck

on our satellite system,

and they think it might be our guys.

Okay. Why?

They traced the breach to a Space
Force base in New Hampshire.

Someone accessed
one of their tracking domes

around 11:30 last night using
Alvin Singh's security card.

- Who?
- Oh, Valerie Watkins' boss.

Okay, so she must have stolen it

and sold it to Travis outside the bar.

Exactly.
Security also caught a Ford Taurus

outside the base a half hour later.

Two males inside
reported it stolen yesterday

from a metro station
parking lot in Vienna, Virginia.

This isn't good.

Why are they hacking a satellite?

I don't know,
but people are freaking out,

and we gotta get popping.

You and me and Ray, we'll go to D.C.

Nina, grab Barnes and take
the metro station in Vienna.

- Let's rock and roll.
- Got it.

Barnes.

Up and at 'em.

Ray, meet you in the Tahoe.

I'm Director James. We spoke earlier.

What's the situation?

Not getting better.

Our cybersecurity chief is Dennis Owen.

He can brief you
in the control room downstairs.

Started about 4:00 this morning.

At first, it was broad and fairly weak,

but then it became faster
and more focused.

Ping after ping on these URLs,

trying to take down the system.

So it's a denial-of-service att*ck.

Yes, just like what
the Russians did in Ukraine.

You really think it could be them?
These people were chasing...

We can't rule it out, sir.

I mean, it could be
another foreign country.

It could be a bunch of t*rrorists
in a basement somewhere.

But right now we think
they're focused on this bird

right here, Sallust 7.

What's it do?

It's an uplink booster.

It's basically
a switching station to funnel

all comms through the tracking network.

In English, please.

If this gets compromised,

these hackers could potentially control
any bird out there.

You take out one GPS satellite,

you lose air traffic control,
marine navigation.

All banking transactions come to a halt.

But what about m*llitary satellites?

That's the real concern.

They're full of sensitive intel
and operations control.

Theoretically, they could
send one into dead orbit,

and we'd be out a billion bucks or so.

But worst case, they could take down

our recon imagery anywhere in the world.

Someone could launch a m*ssile at us,

and we would never see it coming.

- Is DOD in the loop on this?
- Definitely.

What about the JTTF?

They're pulling up right now.

Go find them.
We need to pool our resources here.

Okay. Where's your station?
I need to see this code.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Okay, stop right there.

Can you blow it up?

Okay. Thanks.

We got it from here.

Hey, thanks, by the way.

Remy said you and the g*ng
vouched for me so I could get the gig.

I really appreciate that.

Totally made sense, right?

I just didn't expect you so soon.

Didn't you have another month
of maternity leave left?

Yeah. I was ready to come back to work,
though.

You're okay with leaving the baby?

Dougie's on a bottle.

We have a great nanny, and Scola's

actually a really fantastic father.

I love Jubal, but come on.

The Fugitive Task Force.

I'm not gonna miss this train.

[CHUCKLES]

- [COMPUTER CHIMES]
- Okay, we got a hit.

Thomas J. Hopkins, 42.

It doesn't look like
the driver of the van I saw.

Uh-uh. Scroll down.

One prior for insurance fraud.

Last known residence is in Reston.

Also owns body shop in Manassas.

How about you take that,
and I'll take his house?

I'll drop you off on the way
and head to Manassas.

There it is again.

Sweep, pause, re-sweep, and go.

But the route adjusts every time.

What's going on?

I don't think this is a bunch
of t*rrorists in a basement.

There is an algorithm,
but it's too fast to be human.

This could be one guy
with a laptop using AI,

assuming he has access
to a powerful enough server.

Wait a minute,
you're telling me one dude

on a computer can hack
into a m*llitary satellite?

Sallust 7 is civilian.
It's not m*llitary.

Most private companies rely
on security through obscurity.

They haven't hardened
their systems in years.

Can we stop it?

If I can capture the algorithm

- and sl*ve it to our server...
- [PHONE RINGING]

Then I can at least slow it down.

It'll be our robot against theirs.

Hey, Nina. What's up?

- [GARBLED SPEECH]
- Nina?

There's no service down here.
You gotta go upstairs.

All right. I'll be right back.

Mm-hmm.

Hey, Nina. Sorry about that.

Yeah, we got an ID on one of our guys.

Name's Tommy Hopkins.

I'm at his body shop now.

Place is empty, but the van
we're looking for is here.

Hana just told me this hack
could be one guy and a laptop.

If it's Hopkins,
we need to find him fast.

All right. I'm headed to the house now.

Barnes is there. I'll call her, okay?

- [g*nsh*t]
- Hey, hey.

Remy. Remy, what was that?

I gotta go.

Hey, we got sh*ts fired
outside the building!

- What?
- Call PD and SWAT!

No, no, no, no! Secure the exits!

Move, move, move! Go, go!

[g*nshots]

[TENSE MUSIC]

Hey, no, no, no. Get... get to cover!

Ambulances too. We got one woman down.

Repeat! One woman down! Hurry!

- [g*nshots]
- [SIREN WAILING]

[TENSE MUSIC]

I'm Eskridge. This is Miller.

He's in the building west side, up top.

a*t*matic w*apon.

He's already reloaded twice,
so he's got plenty of a*mo.

[g*nshots]

- The hell is going on here?
- It's a diversion.

All right?
There's a hack in progress in the NRO

to try to distract
the staff and pull them

away from their stations.

Hey. No. Hey. No!

No, don't move, don't move!

[g*nshots]

It's coming from over there.

We got another one.

Hana, we got two sh**t now.

Where the hell is SWAT?

They're about two minutes out.

You want me to come up?

No, stay where you are
and focus on the hack.

Tell the director no one else
leaves the building.

We don't want any more targets.

Copy that.

We gotta move.

- You don't wanna wait for SWAT?
- No.

Waiting never works.

We gotta engage these psychos
and take them out.

Miller, you come with me,
and we'll go west.

Ray, take Eskridge and go east.

- We good?
- Yes, sir.

Stay on comms and know your positions.

We don't want our crossfire
making this any worse.

Cover us.

[g*nshots]

[PHONE RINGS]

Hey, Nina. What's up?

All hell's breaking loose at the NRO.

Two sn*pers are outside sh**ting

- at everybody they see.
- What?

- Where's Remy?
- He and Ray are engaged.

SWAT's on the way,
and there's PD everywhere.

Oh, my God.

And what about the hack?

Well, Hana said that it's still ongoing,

but she doesn't think it's
a big group of people anymore.

It might just be one guy
somewhere with a laptop using AI.

- One guy?
- Yeah.

Well, I might know who.

Tommy Hopkins had a wife, Mallory,

who was m*rder*d last year
by a felon on early release.

He was devastated, so upset.

So was his dead wife's brother,
Noah Caploe.

So I'm looking at a picture
of him right now.

English professor at Colewood College.

Lots of emails between
the brothers-in-law

about the government failing people

and how something
has to be done about it.

I mean, the guy analyzes Chaucer.

I highly doubt that he's
hacking into a satellite system.

Unless he has help. Think about it.

There were six users
in that chat room...

Travis, Millie, the two sn*pers.

Caploe would make five.

And whoever's helping Caploe makes six.

Okay. Where does Caploe live?

Arlington,
but he's gotta be smart enough

- not to hack from there.
- Wait.

Hana said they would need
a powerful enough server.

And who has those?

Colleges.

Colleges.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Colewood's only three miles away.

- How close are you?
- Two minutes.

Call campus PD and SWAT.

I'll be waiting for you out front.

All right.

[KEYS CLACKING]

You should have had it by now.

Told you it was gonna be complicated.

We're running out of time, Evan.

There we go.

Come to papa.

We've got it.

Get out now.

sh**t's gone.

Our guy too.

This is weird.

Where'd they go?

I don't have a clue.

Tell SWAT to secure the perimeter

and bring those emergency vehicles in.

We got wounded.

Whoa.

- What the hell just happened?
- I don't know.

Hana, talk to me.

All our monitors just went blank.

Agent Gibson, over here.

Remy, hang on.

What is it?

Live feed from a satellite owned

by Fairfax Power and Gas.

It was launched from
Wallops Island two months ago.

Wallops Island?

That's where one of our victims lived.

Why is it showing a map?

I don't know.

- What are you doing?
- It's not me.

Someone else is controlling it.

What the hell?

That's Chantilly.

That's not Chantilly.

That's... that's us. That's here.

That's this building.

They're raising the gas pressure levels.

They're gonna blow up the building.

They're gonna blow up the building!

Everybody, get out!

Everybody, get out!

- Hana, are you sure?
- Yes.

They're over-pressurizing the gas lines.

Is this a secondary att*ck?

Yes. Go.

Get out of there.

Evacuate the area! There's a b*mb!

Everybody out!

[TENSE MUSIC]

Show me your hands!

Drop your w*apon!

[g*nshots]

Ray, where are you?

- Two suspects down.
- Leave 'em!

Get the hell out of there!

- [HISSING]
- What's that noise?

I don't know.

Everybody out!

Come on! Move, move, move!

Caploe's not in his office.

He's down there.

Door's locked, and he's not responding.

All right. Let's go.

Time to breach.

FBI! Hands in the air!

[g*nshots]

[GRUNTING]

Stop the hack.

I can't.

I got him.

Yes, you can. Do it now.

[GRUNTS]

Hana, we found them.

They're on a laptop, but I
can't get the program to stop.

Forget the program.

Cut the server connection.

I did. It's not working.

Come on. Come on.

Come on, come on,
come on, come on, come on.

- Come on.
- Wait, wait. Wait, wait, wait.

Here.

[GRUNTS]

Okay.

[SIGHS, GRUNTS]

Okay. Step back. Step back.

[g*nshots]

Yeah? Hana?

Hang on.

Hana, I think we did it.

The pressure's not going up anymore.

Hey.

You sure?

Guys, the gas company says
the pressure's going down.

We did it.

Oh, thank God.

Okay.

You okay?

Yeah, yeah.

I'm good. I'm good.

Hopefully, they don't
send us the bill for that.

[SOFT DRAMATIC MUSIC]

Get his ass out of here.

[INDISTINCT CHATTER]

That the student who did the hacking?

Yeah. Computer major from Wisconsin.

Caploe met him at an
anti-government campus protest

and radicalized him like all the rest.

This obviously wasn't the way
to handle things.

But these people lost a lot...

wife, sister, house, livelihood.

Guess government
by the people, for the people

- wasn't for them.
- Yeah.

Call a lawyer. Write to government.

- Make a stand.
- Yeah.

What they were trying to do
wasn't a statement.

It was a manifesto.

Yeah, it was.

Caploe actually wrote it.

We found this in his office.

"Riot is the language of the unheard."

Are you serious?

Are they really trying to justify
k*lling people by quoting Dr. King?

Okay, well, this has been
a crazy first case.

I'm famished.
Does anybody wanna grab dinner?

Sure.

Don't you have a baby to get home to?

He'll already be asleep,
and Scola's on daddy duty, so.

I could use some food and a drink.

Or 20.

I'm gonna go roller skating
with Cora, so.

- It's cool, all right?
- Okay.

What about you, boss?

You know, I'm late
for my disco spin class.

So I'm gonna head out with Ray.

- [CHUCKLING]
- You ladies have fun.

Make bad decisions.

[KNOCKING]

[SIGHS]

Hey, Corey. How you doing?

Uh, good.

I was, um...

I was sleeping.

What's going on?

I haven't heard from you in a while.

I figured I'd stop by
and check out your place.

Mind if I come in?

Oh, wow.

Neat freak, huh?

Well...

Med school diet.

They've been running me
pretty ragged lately.

Yeah, I figured as much,

so I got you some mortadella
and Boursin cheese

from Tarantino's Deli.

Slap it on this fresh bread here

with a little Dijon and tomato... mmm.

Make you wanna kiss your grandma.

Thanks.

So listen, Corey...

Look, I know why you're here.

I'm sorry I didn't respond
to your texts.

I've just been really busy.

Too busy for family?

Remy, we're not family.

I barely know you.

I regret not knowing your father.

I wish I knew him better,

but he was my brother,

and I loved him.

I'm not gonna make
that same mistake twice.

This isn't about you.

Look, the only real family member

I've ever had was my mother,

and she lied to me

about every single
important thing in my life.

She was just trying to protect you.

I don't need protection.

I'm a grown man just
trying to live my life, okay?

I don't need a friend
or a mentor or a father figure

or whatever the hell this is
that you're trying to do.

[SOMBER MUSIC]

Don't you wanna know
your own father, who he was?

No.

What's the point?

The point is, I see a lot of him in you,

and you should be proud of that.

You just said that you didn't know him.

He had a good heart, Corey.

Oh, good for him.

I don't care.

Well, you should.

Whoa.

[CHUCKLES]

You're left-handed,
just like your old man was.

You need to go.

Come on, Corey.

No, I'm serious.

I have a double shift
on peds in the morning,

and I've got a lot of studying to do.

Please.

I'm tired, Remy.

I'm not going anywhere,

and there's nothing you can do about it.

So get used to it.

You got my number.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]
