to whistle while you walk, so that's what Peep was doing

until he heard a mysterious sound and stopped to listen.

PEEP: Hmm?

( chomping in distance )

Hmm?

( chomping )

( chomping becomes louder )

It's beaver teeth.

( timber creaking )

NARRATOR: Peep had never seen beavers dragging trees around,

so being Peep, he had to watch.

( timbers scraping )

LITTLE BEAVER: Don't get too close

What are they making?

Our family dam.

QUACK: Stop!

What did you say?

I said I'll be home later

if I don't find anyplace to live.

Peep, you said "home."

And what are you looking for?

A home.

Hey! I've got a home!

How did you do that?

I'm a duck.

What can I say?

It's safe and warm.

It's a place my friends can find me.

I won't get wet or squished,

and I slept so well, I snored.

BOTH: Home!

I had no need to keep looking

because I had found the perfect home.

How do you like it?

It's you!

Thanks, Chirp.

Would you like to come into my home?

Mm-hmm.

NARRATOR: And that's the story

of how Peep came to live in a can,

as told by Peep himself.

( Chirp sneezes loudly )

PEEP: Bless you.

( kids talking )

GIRL: Because it was raining,

we decided to make cardboard houses inside.

Here we are getting the cardboard.

How about we'll, like, lean it against here.

And then put these ones inside.

They would be balanced.

GIRL: Eric and Grace are making a house in the playroom.

We could put two together.

We could put it near something.

GIRL: That's me and Vuthy

making a house in the living room.

Sorry, but we're going to have to move this.

I think it has two doubleways-- whoa!

GIRL: Our house is very long and a little shaky.

Eric and Grace are making a house with a nice porch.

Now we're taking the cardboard outside

to build a house in the rain.

It's getting soggy!

GIRL: We decided to make a roof to protect us from the rain.

We put big pieces on top of the walls to make our roof.

( Vuthy shouts )

( someone laughs )

GIRL: The roof is keeping out the rain.

And I'm putting up a long piece to make the roof stronger.

VUTHY: Now time to break!

( all shout )

GIRL: Try to build a home

with things you find around the house.
