MAN: ♪ Well, it's a sunny day

♪ I feel brand-new

♪ There's about a million things that I could do ♪

♪ Whoa, would you like to...

♪ Do them, too?

♪ Yeah

♪ Well, it's a big wide world

♪ And it's waiting for me and you. ♪

( clapping to music )

♪ Let's look around

♪ What will we see?

♪ Round every corner a discovery ♪

♪ Whoa, there's no place I'd... ♪

♪ Rather be

♪ Oh, yeah

♪ Well, it's a big wide world

♪ For me and you.

NARRATOR: Chirp always dreamed of the day she would fly.

( straining, then grunts )

( yelling )

NARRATOR: And she really wanted to know

when that day would come.

Every day she tried.

( inhales )

( straining )

Oh, come on.

NARRATOR: And every day, she still couldn't fly.

( thud )

Ahh.

Ow.

NARRATOR: But Chirp refused to give up.

I will not give up.

NARRATOR: See?

Peep tried to be helpful.

You can do it, Chirp.

You're going to fly.

You're going to fly!

You're going to...

I will not give up.

( muffled ): You're going to fly.

( sighs and stretches )

CHIRP: Whoa.

Hmm?

( Chirp screaming )

( Quack humming )

♪ There's nothing better than a duck ♪

♪ You can look, but you won't have... ♪

Whoa!

Chirp-- I didn't know you could swim.

I... can't.

( gurgling )

Ugh-- wet, wet!

Yuck.

( sighs )

I give up.

Don't give up.

You can learn to swim.

Hmm.

Hmm.

Of course, you don't have my great duck feet.

Not swimming-- flying.

Like other birds fly.

( sighs sadly )

I know what your problem is.

What?

You're not a bird.

No, you're a little round red, um... gopher.

A gopher?

With wings and a beak?

Uh... maybe.

What do birds have that I don't have?

Hmm.

NARRATOR: And that's when she saw it.

That's it!

Flying birds have nests.

I bet if I had one of those, I could fly, too.

But what will it be made of?

What will it look like?

Like a thing.

Made out of, uh... stuff.

NARRATOR: Chirp didn't know anything at all about building a nest.

( snoring )

( Chirp studying doghouse )

Okay.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah.

NARRATOR: But of all the houses she knew,

Nellie's was her favorite.

( snoring )

So that's what she wanted her nest to look like.

Can I help?

( muffled ): No.

This is something a flying bird must do for herself.

( grunts )

There!

Every house needs a floor.

( exhales )

Whoa... whoa... whoaaa!

Phew.

Whoa... oof!

Okay, you can help.

A little the other way.

( straining )

Now this way.

Okay, okay-- don't move.

( legs quavering )

The floor's good.

Now for the walls.

Put your stick in that corner, Peep.

Perfect.

Now we just stand other sticks next to these

and that makes the wall.

( shouts )

Uh...

( Chirp gasps )

Uh-oh.

( yells )

Oh, no!

Ah!!

( both panting )

I have an idea.

( straining with effort )

( gasps )

( creaking )

CHIRP: Ugh!

( creaking )

Oof.

( creaking )

Ugh!

( creaking )

Oof.

I have another idea.

I'm going to get Quack.

He's got to see this.

( sighs contentedly )

Hmm?

Hmm... I think the roof needs a stick to hold it up.

Too short.

Too curvy.

Perfect.

Oops.

Phew.

That was almost very bad.

( creaking )

Hmm?

( crash )

( gasps )

( Chirp sobbing )

How will I ever fly if I can't even build a nest?

( bird chirping )

That was one crazy-looking... whatever.

That was my nest.

And now it's ruined.

I'll never be able to fly.

You don't need a nest to fly.

I don't?

No!

Nests have nothing to do with flying.

You'll fly when your wings get bigger.

When will that be?

I don't know.

But don't worry.

It happened to me, it'll happen to you.

Are you sure?

Yup-- so keep trying.

Keep flapping those wings.

Yeah, bye-- see you in the sky.

( gasps )

Oh, no.

What happened?

It fell down.

No big deal.

A nest has nothing to do with flying, Peep.

( Chirp whistling )

You know...

that is one happy gopher.

GIRL: We're going to make a house for our toys.

I'm trying to use tubes to hold up a piece of cardboard.

It's not staying up.

So I'm putting thick pieces of cardboard together.

Tape really helps.

This is how we'll make rooms.

We're going to bend the pieces of cardboard.

If you put a piece of cardboard down

and let it go, it falls down.

But if you bend a piece of cardboard, it stays up.

Vuthy make a room for his bear.

And there's Eric's room.

The rooms are holding up the second floor.

These are the stairs.

Want me to install them?

GIRL: Vuthy said he would install the stairs, and he did.

The room I made is going to be the second floor

and my room is holding up the roof.

VUTHY: I wish it was raining to see if it can stand.

The roof is working,

and it's kind of getting wet, but it's okay.

Ohh!

VUTHY: He's not even wet.

He is-- look.

( laughs )

Her hair looks gnarly.

Gnarly, dude-- gnarly.

GIRL: Find some old boxes and try building your own house.

( rustling )

( humming )

NARRATOR: For Quack the duck, there's no better game

than "Follow the Leader"-- especially when he's the leader.

I can't follow you out there.

You win again.

( laughs )

Of course I win-- I'm a duck!

Let's play again.

I'll be the leader.

Okay, but it'll be too easy.

There's nowhere you can lead that a duck can't follow.

Easiest game ever.

( laughs )

Ever, ever, ever.

A duck should always lead

because there's nowhere a Peep can go

that a duck can't follow...

( Quack groans )

You win again, Quack--

I can't think of anywhere else to go.

You've followed me every... where.

Quack?

Quack?

Hmm...

I lost a whole duck!

Quack?

Quack?

Quack?

Quack?

Quack!

Oh. Uh, Peep.

Hi.

Why'd you stop following me?

Did you find something great in there?

Uh... yeah!

That's-that's right, yeah.

No. No, it's not right.

NARRATOR: Before Quack could explain,

Chirp came along and saw Peep talking to a log.

Well, come on-- follow me!

Peep, a log can't follow you.

You have a lot to learn about things.

QUACK: Is-is that Chirp?

( gasps )

A talking log!

Oh, Log,

I am such a big fan

of the work you and the trees are doing

for the birds.

PEEP: Hey, Chirp?

Quack?

What are you doing?

I'm-I'm stuck!

You're stuck?

Don't worry, we'll get you out.

( whispering ): How will we get him out?

BOTH: Hmm...

What if we each grab a leg and pull him out?

Right!

Hmm.

Where's your other leg?

Behind me.

Found it!

Let's do it!

( all straining )

( groans )

Stop pulling!

Stop pulling!

What's wrong?

I'm not moving, and, um... ow.

Peep, this isn't working.

We need to try something else.

If pulling doesn't work, what about pushing?

( Quack groans )

( all straining )

How else will we get you out?

( sighs sadly )

Hi, Peep.

What's all that blue stuff?

That's Quack.

No it's not-- Quack has a beak.

And a hat.

They're over there-- this is the rest.

Is that Rabbit?

Yup!

You go down a lot of little holes.

Know how to unstick a stuck duck?

What if you pull while Peep pushes?

( gasps excitedly )

( all straining )

NARRATOR: But Quack didn't move.

They needed some new ideas for unsticking a duck...

but they didn't have any.

A squirrel showed them how he got acorns unstuck from a tree.

( all giggling )

Stop... that...

QUACK: Hey! Ow! Ah! Ah!

( Quack continues screaming )

Ouch!

Now I'm stuck upside down.

NARRATOR: A frog told them how he was slippery when wet,

so maybe if Quack were wet, he'd slip out.

( slurping )

( screams )

Now I'm stuck upside down... and wet.

NARRATOR: Everyone had ideas about how to free Quack.

They twirled, twisted, squeezed,

and even tried asking Quack politely to come out.

But nothing they did could unstick the stuck duck.

It's getting dark.

QUACK: Where's everybody going?

Don't worry.

We won't leave you.

( yawns )

You know, it is bedtime.

I can't sleep in a log!

( yawns )

( quacks )

Hey. I-I moved.

( straining )

No, I'm stuck again.

How did you do it?

What were you doing?

Um... uh...

Yawning.

That's it!

Yawn again and we'll pull you out.

Well, yawn. Yawn!

Ah...

I can't.

Yawns just happen.

Then we'll just wait for one to happen.

NARRATOR: So they waited...

and waited.

♪ Nothing gets stuck like a duck ♪

♪ We try, but we don't have any luck ♪

♪ Nothing is unlucky

♪ Like a big and blue stuck ducky ♪

♪ And I'm a big blue duck who's very stuck ♪

♪ Ooh, ooh.

I'm so sleepy.

( yawns )

Whenever someone else yawns...

( yawns )

it always makes me yawn.

You know, that's...

( yawns )

true.

He's yawning!

( Quack yawns )

( all straining )

Uh! Uh! Uh!

I did it! I did it! I did it!

( clears throat )

Okay-- we did it.

But I discovered the yawning part.

( laughs )

What are you laughing about?

I hate to say it,

but that was kind of funny,

you being stuck in a log.

( laughs )

Yeah.

Yeah, it was...

kind of.

GIRL: That's me and Keenan.

We found a floppy tube.

The tube is really long.

The ball is not coming out.

So we are shaking the tube to get it out.

We're trying to let the ball out, but I think it's stuck.

The ball is stuck inside.

GIRL: Now we are raising the tube up

to see if we can get the ball rolling out.

We did it!

Keenan, how about you put your side down

and I can roll this down?

This time, I am holding one end of the tube high.

Hey, Emma, let me try it.

EMMA: The tube is going down so the ball doesn't get stuck.

This is a paper towel tube.

EMMA: We're setting up the tubes on a little hill.

( ball rattles )

Our pink ball goes right through the tubes

because it's going downhill a little.

Try rolling balls through different kinds of tubes.
