DAD [sighs]:There.

That's the last of the receipts.

Phew!

Hey, Dad.

Hey, Suki.

[Dad yelps]

Uh, Mol, the door?

It's unusually windy today.

Sorry, Dad.

I'm just so excited.

♪ It's Eagle Egg Day!

[gasp]: Eagle Egg Day.

Let's take a look at the eggs.

[taps key]

Good news.

The eggs haven't hatched yet.

Check out the eagle cam.

I'm going to let everybody know.

[computer chirps]Hey, fellow eagle fans out there.

Today's the big day.

So you remember my friend Nina?

She's in charge of putting these web cameras

all over Windsong Wildlife Area,

which means we all get to watch the animals

any time we want.

And so do lots of kids who live outside of Alaska.

We've been watching the fox cam, the bear cam.

And...

[sings fanfare]

The bald eagle cam.

In the Koyukon language, they're called k'eyone.

Just look at those perfect little eggs.

Nina says bald eagle eggs usually take days to hatch.

And guess what?

It's been exactly days!

Isn't that egg-citing?

Get it?

Egg-citing?

[clicks mouse]

MOLLY: Come on, little k'eyone.

You can do it.

[wind gusting, camera mount squeaking]

[yelps]:The wind turned the camera around.

Now we can't see the eggs.

about the short path being so bumpy?

Hey, everyone!

Molly here to answer your questions

about life in Alaska.

[taps key]

Kurt in Massachusetts asks,

"What animal do you want to see that you haven't yet?"

An umingmaq.

Hi, Molly!

BOY: So today,

we're at a wildlife sanctuary.

A wildlife sanctuary is a place

where you take in animals that are hurt.

So Molly asked us what animal an umingmaqis.

GIRL: We have the history of the conservation center,

a list of all of their programs and tours, and a map.

BOY: We have to decide

what information is going to help us find an umingmaq.

I think a map's important

because it's where all the animals are

around the conservation center.

This is exactly what we need to help us find an umingmaq.

The moose is in the red barn!

BOY: There's info that tell us about each animal.

BOY : The Yupik word for wolf is kegluneq.

GIRL: Hi, wolfie.

Look, there's a fox.

BOY : So the Yupik name is kaviq.

So I don't think this is a umingmaq.

So the fox is right here,

so we should go that way, probably.

Hey, we found the umingmaq.

The umingmaqin English is a musk ox!

BOY : There are signs here about the musk ox.

The under wool of an umingmaq is called qiviut.

Qiviutis the warmest, lightest wool in the world.

Qiviutand musk ox hides have been traditionally used

by Yupik people, as well as other indigenous groups

for clothing, bedding, and shelter.
