Hello, folks. It's me the conductor. Today, buddy and

Tiny and their junior conductor friends are traveling from one

End of the train line to the other, so come on along with me

On the dinosaur train. All aboard!

♪ Once upon a time there was a mom

Her name was mrs. Pteranodon sitting on her nest

She heard a scratching and said... ♪

Oh, boy! My eggs are hatching!

♪ One by one her kids popped free

Baby pteranodons , , ♪

I'll name you tiny, shiny, and don.

♪ But tiny said... ♪ Wait! There's one more, mom!

♪ Last little baby was a different size

With teeth and a tail and big green eyes

He didn't look anything like the rest ♪

What am I doing in a pteranodon nest?

♪ But dear, old mrs. Pteranodon said... ♪

Oh, this is your family, and I'm your mom. You may be

Different, but we're all creatures. All dinosaurs have

Different features. Come on, buddy. We'll take a vacation.

I'll get us a ticket at pteranodon station. We'll

Travel the world in sunshine and rain and meet all the

Species on the...

We are gonna see gilbert today on the dinosaur train.

Yeah! Today's the junior conductors jamboree!

What's a jamboree?

It's when a bunch of creatures all doing the same

Thing get together.

Wow! That sounds like fun!

And gilbert's gonna be there?

Yup!

Um, buddy and tiny, even though don and I aren't junior

Conductors yet, can we come along with you?

And maybe see gilbert?

Hee hee hee!

Let's all go to the jamboree. It will be a

Vacation! I'll get us a ticket at pteranodon station.

[Cheering] gilbert!

Good morning, mr. Conductor!

Buddy, tiny, I believe you're missing something.

Your junior conductor hats!

Conductor, I really wanted to come along with buddy and tiny.

And me, too.

Shiny and don, I am delighted that you're both here

For the jamboree, and today, is the day you will become junior

Conductors!

Good morning, everybody!

Hi, gilbert!

Looking good, buddy! Hey.

How's my favorite friend named tiny? Don!

I do believe you are shinier than ever today.

Ha ha ha! Oh, gilbert, thanks!

Friends, here's today's plan. We're all riding to the

Roundhouse at troodon town at the end of the cretaceous time

Period, then all the way through the mesozoic era to the

Roundhouse...

At the other end of the track in the triassic time

Period?

Exactumundo! We're traveling from roundhouse to roundhouse.

In the jamboree spirit, we'll be picking up other friends

Along the way.

It's the ultimate dinosaur train adventure!

Hold onto your hats, folks!

Time tunnel! Time tunnel approaching!

Next stop, troodon town. That's right! Troodon town next stop.

Roundhouse! Junior conductors, come on out and watch us turn

The train around.

[Cheering] go, laura, go!

[Grunting] ah, the roundhouse! Does it

Get any better than this?

No, gilbert! This is the best ever!

All right! The train is officially turned. We're ready

To ride to the triassic, but first, a cretaceous friend!

Spiky stygimoloch!

Hi, junior conductors!

[Whistle blows] you know what's great about

Being on this junior conductor jamboree? Everyone is conductor

For the day.

You mean, we do real conductor jobs?

We do! Ready, junior conductors?

Yeah!

[Ding ding ding] snack cart! Leaves, fish, or

Meat. Come and get your favorite treat!

Hello! Oh. I'm very hungry.

What do you recommend?

Mom, you've see the cart before.

She's pretending, don.

Oh, right. Well, mrs.

Pteranodon, who I've never seen before, I think you'd like a

Fishwich.

Hmm. Sounds tasty. I'll take one! Thank you, mr. The junior

Conductor.

You're welcome. She seems nice.

Look. I see an ankylosaurus.

Good eyes again, buddy!

Let's explore some more!

You're conductors for the day, ladies, so pull down the

Screen and tell us about the cretaceous.

The cretaceous time period has some of the biggest

Dinosaurs like t. Rex and ankylosaurus.

And smaller ones like velociraptor.

Excellent, tiny and shiny!

Remember, going to the jurassic means we're traveling

We're making a quick stop, kids. Next stop, lesothosaurus

Hey, everyone! Happy junior conductor jamboree! Good to see

You! I don't usually wear hats, but how do I look?

You look great, leslie!

Plants are what I'm hungry for don't eat insects

Don't eat critters just give me some of them

They're all fantastic!

Whoa! Look! We're at the end of the triassic time period,

The other end of the train tracks.

Next stop, eoraptor ravine station! That's the triassic

Roundhouse where we're turning around, folks.

Do you hear squeaking?

Hey, it's erma eoraptor!

Hi, erma!

Oh, hello, kids. I heard about your junior conductor

Jamboree. I figured I could ride the dinosaur train and

Spend some quality time with the conductor.

Oh, erma. Ha ha ha! Be still my heart. I'm so pleased to see

You.

Ahem. Train travelers, it's time to return to the

Cretaceous. Roundhouse to roundhouse. Junior conductors,

Meet in the dining car.

All aboard!

[Cheering] my favorite dish--fish! Eat

Up!

Oh, gilbert. Ha ha! Ha ha!

Erma, this is a dream come true.

Oh, mr. Conductor, you are as sweet as a cretaceous flower.

Oh! Hello, son!

Mother?! What are you doing here?

Ha ha ha! Riding the dinosaur train of course. Oh.

Who's your little friend?

Erma eoraptor. Nice to meet you, mr. Conductor's mom.

Same to you, erma of the triassic. Ha ha ha! Oh, say,

Speaking of eating in the dining car.

Mother, we were not actually speaking--

Did I ever tell you about the time when sonny boy here

Was a wee lad, little fella, he ate too much right here in this

Very dining car?

Why, no. It sounds fascinating.

Well, his belly hurt so much, he yelled out loud, and

The passengers thought they were hearing the train whistle.

Ha ha ha!

Ohh.

True story!

Oh, my!

Bluhhh! Ha ha!

Thank you, mother. Moving right along. Ahem. Next stop,

Pteranodon terrace station.

Everyone meet on the platform for a junior conductor jamboree

Ceremony. Ahem. Junior conductors, since you all made

This special time traveling trip from roundhouse to

Roundhouse, you have reached the next level of junior

Conductor.

[Cheering] and you get new hats!

[Squawk] I love my new hat!

[Sigh] shiny and don, you, too,

Have completed the trip.

Therefore, I hereby declare that you are both dinosaur

Train junior conductors!

Oh, gilbert, I'm so happy!

I know, shiny. I know.

And my nephew gilbert, you are promoted to official head

Junior conductor. Here's your new vest.

Well, golly! Thanks!

Junior conductor cheer!

Junior conductors in sunshine or rain, we'll always

Be riding the dinosaur train!

[Cheering] well, that was the best

[Whistle blows] time to get back to troodon

Town. Bye, pteranodons! All aboard!

[Cheering] dinosaur train! Yeah!

Hi, there. I'm dr. Scott the paleontologist. The mesozoic

Era was the age of dinosaurs, and it lasted more than

Million years. We divide the mesozoic into parts called

Time periods, and each time period has a name. One, the

Triassic time period.

Triassic.

Two, the jurassic.

Jurassic.

And , the cretaceous.

Cretaceous.

The triassic was a hot and dry time over most of the

Earth. The first dinosaurs appeared during this time

Period along with the first mammals, turtles, and

Pterosaurs. During the jurassic time period, the earth was

Still so warm that there were no ice caps at the north or

South poles. This was the time of dinosaur giants like

Brachiosaurs, stegosaurus, and allosaurus, and during the

Cretaceous, the last time period of the mesozoic era, the

First flowers and bees appeared. This was also the

Time of triceratops and parasaurolophus, velociraptor

And t. Rex.

Yay! T. Rex!

So the earth is always changing, and different

Dinosaurs lived at different time periods in the mesozoic

Era. Ok. Remember, get outside, get into nature, and make your

Own discoveries.

♪ I'm not the biggest dinosaur

In fact, I'm kind of tiny I don't have teeth

Or scary claws but it doesn't make me whiney

Whenever I meet someone new I march right up, and what I do

Is say, "hello, there nice to meet you

My name is tiny" I've met a lot of dinosaurs

And some of them are scary and when I stand right next

To them I'm kind of ordinary

But if I'm friendly they are, too

And when I say "it's nice to meet you"

Then they say "well, hey, the same to you

It's nice to meet you, tiny" ♪ ♪ all aboard

All aboard let's take a ride

On the dinosaur train here she comes right on time

The dinosaur train's coming down the line ♪

All aboard! All aboard!

♪ Rattle and bang rumble and roar

She's huffing and a-puffing like a hurricane

Let's take a ride on the dinosaur train ♪

[Cheering] hello, folks. It's me the

Conductor. Today, the pteranodon family is taking the

Train to troodon town for a concert by king

Cryolophosaurus, so come on along with me on the dinosaur

Train. All aboard!

[Whistle blows] tickets! Tickets, please!

Hello, pteranodons a--and t.

Rex.

Hello, mr. Conductor!

Tickets, tickets, please!

Oh. Um-- I've been holding on to

These all week. Here you are, mr. Conductor.

Excited about troodon train day? We all are. In fact, let's

All take a look at this!

It's that time of year, folks.

[Whistle blows] troodon train day! Dinosaurs

From all over the mesozoic era come to troodon town to

Celebrate the fabulous dinosaur train. Built by the amazingly

Smart troodons, the dinosaur train travels through time,

Taking its passengers to the triassic, jurassic, and

Cretaceous time periods in comfort and style.

Ooh! Ahh!

Here comes my favorite part, how a steam engine works!

You see, the dinosaur train is a steam locomotive. Its mighty

Engine is powered by fuel burnt in a firebox. The fuel heats

Water in a boiler, which boils the water into steam. That hot

Steam pushes on a piston sliding inside a cylinder. The

Piston goes up and down, and that makes the huge wheels go

Round and round, and they make the dinosaur train go. Whoo

Whoo! All aboard!

[Sniffles] and--and that's why we

Celebrate every summer with troodon train day.

[Cheering] I just love the dinosaur

Train.

I do, too, buddy. This is gonna be the best troodon train

Day ever!

[Squawk] it sure will. Don't forget the

Most important part!

[Hoot] the king cryolophosaurus

Concert!

Absolutely right, mrs. "P" and mrs. "L". We're also very

Excited about king's long-awaited return to the

Stage to sing his hit songs!

He's usually hiding way out in the jurassic antarctic, so this

Will be a rare and special performance.

[Sighs] wow! We're riding the

Dinosaur train to troodon town for a king cryolophosaurus

Concert.

Yep. Life is good.

[Sighs] [clang]

Heh heh!

We're gonna have the time of our lives. Time. Time! It's

Time for the time tunnel! Time tunnel approaching, folks!

Creatures, welcome to troodon train day!

[Cheering] today, we celebrate the

Dinosaur train because it brings us all together on

Fabulous adventures all over the mesozoic and all around the

World. It gets us out into nature, where we can make our

Own dinosaur discoveries [indistinct chatter]

Well, I don't know about you, but I want to discover

Where the king cryolophosaurus concert is going to happen!

Excellent thought, mrs.

Lambeosaurus. I'll take you there posthaste. Walk this way.

[Squawk] oh, this is lovely, loraine.

Let's stake out a spot before anyone else gets here.

[Hoot] I agree, right up front.

Mr. Conductor, thanks so much for your help. I know

You're a big fan of the king's music, too.

Bluhhh! He certainly is!

Bluhhh! I certainly am!

Mother?!

Well, hello, son! Did you miss me?

Hello, mrs. Conductor!

And hello, pteranodons and lambeosaurus. Here to see the

Show, are you? Ooh! I've been camped here all night, but I'm

Happy to share my picnic spot with you folks.

Oh, wonderful!

How nice.

Yeah. I'm having some greens and some carrion and some bugs!

Dig in!

Mmm, mmm!

Did you know that sonny boy here has been a fan of king

Cryolophosaurus since he was hatched? Oh, I remember him

Marching up and down, singing-- well, that's all right,

Mama. You don't-- ooh! He never could stop

Singing that song.

Oh, mom!

Mom, dad, can tiny and I go for a walk?

We could hike up the hill to look at the big conifers.

Sure, kids. Just stay within brawking distance.

Okey-dokey.

[Squawk] [squawk]

I love how quiet and peaceful it is up here.

[Humming] oh, man. Ohh.

Sounds like king!

Come on!

♪ Oh, um, baby ♪ hi, king!

Hoo-ha! Huh! Hyah! Hyah! Oh, hey, buddy. Hey--hey, tiny.

What are you doing way out here?

Uh, you know, i, uh-- are you looking for nuts?

Or playing a game?

Yeah, like hide-and-seek?

Uh, well, yeah, the hiding part.

You're what?

I'm hiding. I'm hiding.

Did you say you're hiding?

You nailed it, baby. I'm hiding from my fans.

Why?

Well, I guess I just started feeling nervous about the show,

And that made me more nervous, and, uh--

But, king, there's a huge crowd of dinosaurs down at the

Waterfall waiting for you to sing.

That's exactly what I'm talking about, buddy. There's a

Huge crowd of dinosaurs.

So you're feeling shy about the crowd of dinosaurs?

Well, yeah, baby. I haven't sung my songs in a long time.

I'm feeling a little extra shy.

I mean, I get nervous before any show, but, uh, this is

Troodon train day, man. I got the worst stage fright I've

Ever had. I feel like catching the first train back to

Antarctica. One way, return to sender, baby. Hoo-ha!

Maybe we can help, king.

Really?

Yeah. Like, whenever I have to do something I'm nervous

About, I take a deep breath, and then I think about

Something that will make me feel more brave.

Uh, like what?

Hmm. Maybe you could imagine all the dinosaurs in the crowd

Wearing clothes.

[Crickets chirping] it was just an idea.

Ok. How about thinking about something that you really like?

Well, uh, trains. I love trains, man!

There you go. Think about trains and how much you love

Them!

Ok. I guess that's an idea.

And you like to sing, don't you?

I love to sing, tiny! Hoo-ha!

Well, king, you're the greatest rock and roll singing

Dinosaur ever.

And your songs are the best!

Really? Buddy, tiny, you think I'm that good?

Yeah!

King, when you get up on that stage, just remember how

Great a singer you are. Relax and enjoy yourself up there.

We promise we'll be right there in the crowd, rooting for

You.

Hmm.

♪ Hmm, baby, ohh ♪ bluhhh! It's time for the

Concert to begin. Where in the frilly neck is king?

Uh, there's no sign of him.

I'm afraid we may have to tell this crowd that he's not gonna

Show up.

Are you sure? There's some big meat-eaters out there. They

Can get pretty riled up.

[Grr] oh!

Oh, oh, oh. Ahem.

And now, carnivores, herbivores...

And omnivores...

The one, the only...

King cryolophosaurus!

[Cheering and applause] aw, thank you. Thank you

Very much. It's great to be here on troodon train day, a

Celebration that brings all kinds of different dinosaurs

Together on a train! Hoo-ha!

I'm talking theropods, sauropods, and let's hear it

For the hadrosaurs, baby!

[Hoot] and the ceratopsians,

Ankylosaurs, and the pachycephalosaurs! Come on!

Hoo-ha! Now I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for you, my

Fans, and these two little fans standing right here next to me.

Huh?

All right. Let's take care of business.

[Cheering] ♪ every day, I go down

To the station looking down them shiny tracks

Then I hear that lonesome whistle blowing

And I'm so glad that old train is coming back

Because I love trains ♪ ♪ whoo whoo ♪

♪ I just love trains well, I can't explain

I won't complain I only know

That I love trains, man ♪ well, thank you. You know, I

Love trains, but I also love being a cryolophosaurus. Take

It to the theropod bridge, baby. Hoo-ha!

♪ -Toed feet with pointy tips make some room for me

To shake my lizard hips big, sharp teeth

For eating meat I top it all off

With a visual treat my crest

Yeah, man, it's the best it's made of bone

I call it my own crylophosaurus crest, man ♪

Hoo-ha! Well, thank you. Let's take it down a little bit. This

One goes out to...

♪ And a hadrosaur ♪ hoooot.

♪ Came to see the show ♪ bluhhh-huhhh!

♪ Waited all the afternoon sat in the front row ♪

[Whimpering] ♪ carnivores

Herbivores ♪ and omnivores!

♪ Dinos big and small I may hide out

In antarctica but I love you all ♪

[Cheering and applause] well, thank you, but I got

To tell you, there's one thing I love even more, more than my

Fans and even more than my cryolophosaurus crest, and

That's the...

Gonna ride the dinosaur train ♪

Huh!

[Cheering and applause] hoo-ha!

Hoo-ha!

Hi, there. I'm dr. Scott the paleontologist, and this

Is--well, you know what this is.

It's the dinosaur train!

Now I'm an expert on dinosaurs and fossils, so I

Don't know much about trains, but I know someone who does.

Point of fact--the front car of the dinosaur train is called

The steam engine. When the water in the engine gets hot,

It turns into steam just like water boiling in a tea kettle.

Inside the engine, the water expands. That means it gets

Bigger and bigger, making a lot of pressure. Pressure is a

Force that builds up in the engine and pushes the train's

Wheels. Those wheels start turning, and it goes down the

Tracks.

Ok. Well, thanks for the train information.

All aboard!

[Train whistle blows] I've always wanted to yell

That. Thank you.

Remember, get outside, get into trains, and make your own

Discoveries.

[Whistle blows] did you know that the

Dinosaur train travels everywhere in the mesozoic era?

Let's look at the map. There was the triassic, jurassic, and

Cretaceous time periods. Let's visit the cretaceous. Many new

Kinds of flowers and insects appeared during this time. The

Most dinosaurs, like tyrannosaurus rex, and flying

Creatures, like pteranodons, lived in the cretaceous, and

That's just one of the stops on the dinosaur train!

♪ Theropods have -toed feet lots of teeth for eating meat

Big, long tails to balance well and theropods have a great

Sense of smell ♪ go, theropods, go!

We love playing games!
