"Princess..." said the frog,

"You must kiss me...

[GASP]

...ribbit! Ribbit!"

Eek! Gross!

So the princess slowly leaned in...

Closer and closer...

until she was face-to-face with

the slimy green frog, and... MWAH!

Ew! Double-EW! Blech! Icky!

Yucky! Ew! Ew!

And the frog vanished in a puff of smoke and turned into a...

I know what he turned into Grandpa!

A slimy, green, gross PRINCE! EW!!!

That's right. A slimy, green Prince.

[BELL RINGS]

A new customer!

Good day princess.

What can we two frogs do for you

on this fine morning, ribbit, ribbit?

Ha, ha, ha! Good one, Grandpa.

My favorite shoes are all worn out.

So you like stories?

We love them!

Then you must visit me at in the library sometime.

I'm a librarian.

Oh, yes, I recognize you.

We'll bring you your shoes when we return our books!

In the fix-it box they go!

Where will my feet take me today?

[TWINKLES]

Whoah! This isn't my library.

There's a million, trillion, gazillion books here --

Plus one!

Wowsers! Big dragons! Hmmm...

Hmmm... Hello...? Anybody there?

Oooh! Hmm...Where'd it go?

[HUFFS AND PUFFS]

Wait a second!

[HUFFS AND PUFFS]

Steal my books will ya!

Huh? Oh! A mouse!

That's right!

Now, get out of here, you, you,

you big book stealer!

I'm not a book stealer! I'm Franny.

And I just wanted to look. I love books!

Ha! No one loves books more than Henry.

That's me, Henry.

Oh yeah, then how many books have YOU read?

Oh, no. I didn't say I READ books.

I can't read - not a word.

I said I LOVED books.

I look at all the pictures!

Then I make up spy stories.

But wouldn't you like to know what the real stories are?

Maybe a friend could read them to you -

just like my Grandpa does for me!

Pfft, friends!

I haven't got time for FRIENDS!

Well, could we look at some pictures together maybe?...

Hmph.

...not as friends mind you, but as...

people with similar interests.

Similar interests?!

Well why didn't you say so???!!!

There's so many pictures to look at together!

A million, trillion, gazillion books...

We'd better get started right away! It's going to take a hundred years.

Sheesh. That's an awful long time, Henry.

I have to get back to Grandpa sometime.

Hmph.

But... we could start with ONE book and

see where to go after that.

Yeah, I guess we could start with...hmmm...

One book! One very special book that

one very special mouse - that's me --

is too short to reach so he's never been able to look at it!

Could we read that book?

That sounds like the one, Henry.

Where is it?

OK, let's skedaddle.

Wait, wait, wait!

You have to watch out for Sally!

Sally? Who's Sally?

I thought you had no friends in the library.

Friend?

She's a horrible, terrible, big-fanged,

mean, smelly, library cat and I'm not kidding.

Oh, come on, Henry. She can't be that scary.

Do the words Sabertooth Tiger mean anything to you?

[GULP] Hooey!

[GASP]

You wait here.

I'm not afraid of a library cat.

Even a smelly sabertooth tiger!

Good luck, Franny. Good luck...

Well maybe I'm a little afraid of a sabertooth tiger.

Especially a smelly one...

[PURRS]

What big teeth you have...

... The better to eat you with, my child!

AAhhhhhhhh!

SABERTOOTH TIGER! AAhhhhhhh!

Sabertooth Tiger? Where? Come on.

Put'em up! Tell 'em Sally's sent ya. [growl]

Huh?

You're Sally?

Yes, and there's a sabertooth tiger roaming around here,

so you'd better get behind me.

But YOU'RE the sabertooth tiger.

Nah, I'm just a library cat who spends

her days reading books to...other books.

BORING.

Hmm... Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Have you ever thought about reading to someone else?

Someone who could hear you, maybe?

Who?

Do you see anyone else around here?!

Do you?

Unless of course you're talking about...

Are you talking about...?

Yes, yes I am!

Well why didn't you say so, Kid?

Of course I'll read you a story!

No, no, no!

[GIGGLE]

That's not what I meant! Not me!

Stay right here.

[LIGHT PURR]

Henry! You have to come with me.

Empty handed, I knew it. Where's the book?

You know, if you don't want to look at books with me, that's fine.

You just have to let old Henry know.

Please be quiet and come with me!

Okay.

Hehe. Just wait.

You two are going to really like each other!

NOT YOU! NOT YOU!

Oh!

Come Franny! Let's leave the CATS

to their book stealing business.

I do believe she is my friend, mousy.

Come on!

Hey...Applesauce!

You two have so much in common!

Have you ever even tried talking to each other?

No. Why would I want to?

Never. I repeat. NEVER!

[SIGH]

Where are you going?

I'm going to get the book at the top of THAT shelf!

THAT SHELF?

But that's the book I've always wanted to read!

YOU like books? YOU like books?

I like books! I like books!

Yeah, I mean I can't read or anything,

but I make up stories to go with the pictures.

Can you read?

Can I?! That's pretty much all I do all day.

Guys, I could use some help here!

I'll help you on this side.

And I'll help you on this side.

GOT IT!

I can't wait to teach you to read.

And I can't wait for you to read to me...

Best friend.

Friend? I thought you didn't want any friends?

Nah... I really did.

I was just waiting for my best friend to come along --

that's you!

I think that's what I was waiting for too!

[PURR]

Thanks Franny.

You're welcome!

I have to get back to my Grandpa.

You two have fun reading!

And making up stories.

Bye Franny!

Bye.

[TWINKLES]

That was frantastic.

A Bookmark!

Another treasure for my shoebox!

[SNORING]

Grandpa?

Huh? Yes, muffin.

Will you always read to me, even when

I learn to read for myself,

just like Sally Cat and Henry Mouse.

[CHUCKLES] I don't know who Sally and Henry are,

but I will always read to you.

In fact, why don't I read you a story right now!

I'll get a book.

How about this one?

That's a good one. Hehe.

Once upon a time in a little village

lived a little girl who wore a little red hood...

Where will my feet take me tomorrow?
