[upbeat music]

ABCHey, everybody!

Let's G-O, go!

Woman singing: With ABC, --, and Do-Re-Mi,

there's endless people and places to see.

From the classroom, they can search and explore!

With every adventure, you learn more.

They visit countries near and far.

They love to learn wherever they are.

They see the world in a brand-new way.

They make great new friends every day.

ABC, --, and Do-Re-Mi,

come along and you will see.

The more they travel, the more you know.

Get ready. Let's G-O, go!

ABCThis is so funny!

--What do you see, ABC?

ABCI think the teacher is playing a joke on the class.

--[giggles]

ABCShe's telling them about a hole in the ground that is so big

that our school and even our entire town could fit in it!

--[gasps] Oh, my goodness!

Hmm...

ABCLet's search it!

Let's see.

It says that there are giant holes in the ground all over the world.

Wait, here it is!

They're called "canyons."

--Ooh, and the biggest canyon in America

is in the state of Arizona.

And it's called... both[gasping]

--The Grand Canyon!

ABCOh, I wanna see it.

--Oh, and, ABC, it's more than one mile deep!

A mile!

ABCOh, I have to see it!

Do-Re-MiSee what, ABC?

--The Grand Canyon.

[gasps] Do you want to come?

Do-Re-MiGo on an adventure with you?

Well, of course! You bet I do.

ABCGreat!

Do-Re-MiBut I can't.

I'm trying out these new paints and brushes that I just got.

I'll have a surprise when you return.

--Oh, a surprise? What is it?

Do-Re-Mi[giggles]

Well, it won't be a surprise if I tell you.

ABC[laughs] Okay.

Let's G-O, go!

[exciting music]

--Look for a sign that reads "Grand Canyon."

ABCGreat. I'm watching.

There it is! G-R-A-N-D C-A-N-Y-O-N.

Grand Canyon!

[upbeat music]

[keyboard clacking]

[shimmering]

Ms. RangerHey, it's ABC and --!

What a great surprise.

Welcome to the Grand Canyon.

ABCThank you, Ms. Ranger.

-- and I are so excited to be here.

Can you please point us in the direction of the Grand Canyon?

Ms. RangerI sure can, ABC.

It's right out the door.

You can't miss it.

ABCThank you.

Come on, --. I can't wait to see it!

Hurry! --, look!

This sign is pointing towards the Grand Canyon.

It must be right ahead of us.

--Slow down, ABC!

You know what happens when you rush!

[cheerful music]

ABC[gasps]

[echoing] Whoa!

[eagle cries]

[wind blows]

Wow.

[exciting music]

--[gasps] Gotcha!

ABCI can't believe how big this is.

It must be a gazillion miles across!

--Actually, ABC... [grunting]

It's miles long and to miles wide,

depending on where you are when you're looking at it.

[peaceful music]

[birds singing]

Speaking of which, it's probably better to look at the Grand Canyon from here."],…}

ABCWait, is that a river down there?

Oh, I have to see that!

--[laughs] Okay, okay.

But how are we going to get down?

ABCI know a way.

--ABC, wait up!

ABCWow, look, --, a bald eagle.

--Oh, my goodness! The Grand Canyon is amazing!

ABCSure is! Ooh.

I've never ridden on a mule before,

but the guidebook says this is the safest way down.

--I thought this was a horse. ABCNope.

It says here that mules have a horse for their mother

and a donkey for their father.

The important thing is that they are

one of the most sure-footed animals in the world.

--Good, because I don't really want to fall a mile.

In fact, I don't want to fall at all.

[buzzing]

ABCWhat was that?

There it is again!

--[gasps] What?

ABCThat!

--Oh, that's some kind of hummingbird.

Ooh, it's a broad-tailed hummingbird.

That humming sound is made by its wings.

ABCThey're moving so fast! I can hardly see them.

--That's because its wings are moving back and forth

about times a second!

ABCWhoa! That's F-A-S-T, fast!

It's not easy keeping up with a broad-tailed hummingbird.

I wonder what other animals we'll see.

--Or what other animals will see us...

ABCPhew, it's H-O-T, hot down here.

--That's because, in the summer,

it can get over Fahrenheit in the Grand Canyon.

Oh, ABC, I wish we could just float down the river.

ABCGreat thinking, --!

That sign reads "River rafting"!

[upbeat music]

Come on!

--Wait for me, ABC!

ABCOh, look. I think he wants to play with us.

Hey, can you do this?

What about this?

Or this?

--I don't think he wants to play, ABC.

Um, that's a spotted skunk.

He's doing that handstand to look bigger and scare us away.

ABCUh, what else does it say he might do?

--Um... [gasps]

Spray his enemies with something that smells extraordinarily horrible!

Skunk[snarls]

ABCR-U-N, run!

[laughs] Whoa, this is awesome!

--Whoa!

[laughs] ABCWhee!

[both exclaiming]

Whoa!

Yeehaw! --Oh, my goodness!

Whoa... Whoa!

[laughter]

ABCI sure hope Do-Re-Mi is having this much fun!

[upbeat dance music]

Do-Re-MiHmm, perfect.

ABCOh, well, we'll tell her all about it.

--Absolutely.

This has to be the best way to see the park.

ABCThe Grand Canyon is a park?

--[laughs] Oh, yes.

In , this became a national park.

That's about a hundred years ago.

ABCThat's awesome.

Look, --, that's a bighorn sheep and it's watching us!

--Oh... How did it get there?

The mountain looks like it's too steep to climb.

[eagle cries]

Huh, well, I guess it isn't too steep for bighorn sheep.

ABCWow! Did you see that?

--[laughs] Oh, yes.

That was a brown trout.

Oh, look! There's that bald eagle again/

[eagle cries]

ABCI think eagles like fish.

--Oh, yes, fish are a big part of an eagle's diet.

ABCLook, --!

People must have lived there a long time ago.

--Yes! Scientists say that people first lived

in the Grand Canyon more than , years ago!

The people that lived in those cliff dwellings

used to farm by the river and hunt in the canyon.

But nobody lives there anymore.

ABCWait until Do-Re-Mi hears about this.

Thanks, Ms. Ranger!

-- and I had a blast.

Ms. RangerBye-bye!

I hope you tell everyone you know to visit the Grand Canyon.

--We sure will.

[train whistle blowing]

bothWhat's that?

Ms. RangerIt's the Grand Canyon Railway.

ABCThere's a train too?

--Uh, we'll ride the train next time, ABC.

I think we've already learned a lot to tell Do-Re-Mi.

ABCAll right. But we'll be back soon, Ms. Ranger!

Because I love trains. Ms. Ranger[laughs]

Okay, I'm counting on it. Bye!

ABCDo-Re-Mi, you have to see the Grand Canyon to believe it!

It's H-U-G-E, huge!

--Yes, and guess what?

Do-Re-Mi[gasps] What?

ABCThere's even a train!

But we didn't get to ride it.

Do-Re-MeDo-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-whoa!

That sounds amazing.

--Looks like you've been having fun too!

Do-Re-MiOh, I sure have.

I was busy searching while you were out exploring.

Oh, I figured a Grand Canyon deserves a grand painting.

[both gasping]

ABCThat might be your greatest painting yet, Do-Re-Mi.
