An old moon like me has
to play a few tricks now and then

just to keep myself young.

I was trying to read my book.

Oh, dear. My sincere apologies.

Perhaps I should leave you to it.

Oh, wait! Don't go, Mr. Moonlight.

I like having you around.

But do you remember
that night that you did leave?

Yes, indeed.

[Crick] It was quite some time ago,

the end of a summer's day,

and we were playing Shadows.

[bugs laughing]

Monster Bugzilla!

[roaring]

[laughs]

It's well past changeover time.

This game is the best-est.

I'm beginning to think that you all
don't like me as much as Mr. Sun.

Well, of course we do.

It-- It's just that, well,
we're playing a shadow game and...

And so, could you please consider
just waiting a teensy bit longer?

I'm so bright tonight

that I was very much looking forward
to shining on all of you,

but if no one wants me, then...

I'll be off.

I gotta go, too, bugs.

I can shine all day,
but the night... really isn't my thing.

[bug] Hello? Anyone there?

This moonless night is terrible.

Poor Doris fell over in the dark.

And I keep hitting my head
on low branches.

[grunts, groans]

Do any of you know
why Mr. Moonlight isn't out?

That might possibly be... our fault.

We kind of told him to... stay away.

But how can we manage without him?

Don't worry. We caused this and, uh--

And we have a plan to... fix it.

Hey. Hey, if Mr. Moonlight's up there,

let's just climb into the sky
and find him.

[creaking]

[grunting]

The tallest tower ever!

[panting]

This is maybe
and actually like a health thing.

Slugs are not really--

They're not really built for climbing.

[grunting]

[groaning]

[sighs]

Okay, bugs.

[grunting]

Whoa! Don't stretch the squish.

Yes! I actually did it.

[yelling]

[crashing]

[groaning]

[grunts] Lucky this stuff broke our fall.

[sniffing]

What is this?

By my crickto-calculations,
we are in Bulldog's bowl.

Gross!

Oh... I-- I think I have an idea.

[grunting] Just one more crickto-turn

and there.

Ta-da!

Uh... What exactly is it, Crick?

I call it a crickto-scope.

You look in there

and what you're looking at
comes closer.

You mean, it's like a tower,
but you stay on the ground?

I like it already.

Let me see.

[shrieks] It's a monster!

It's a very little monster-er.

Uh, Bugs, you're just looking
at each other.

[laughs]

If Mr. Moonlight's up there,
I should be able to spot him.

Mr. Moonlight is nowhere up there.

I can't quite understand it.

[groaning]

Hey, I've got a better idea.

[grunts]

[glass shatters]

You broke my crickto-scope?

I'm not breaking. I'm making.

This is now a crickto-megaphone.

[amplified] Mr. Moonlight!

♪ Mr. Moonlight! ♪

Even if he can hear us,
how do we convince him to come back?

Hmm.

I guess...

I guess we have to show him
how much he means to us.

[gasps] Ooh, ooh, ooh!

My turn for inspiration. Shadows!

♪ Shadows! ♪

Yeah. Yeah.

[Crick] I'm slightly confused.

Hmm?

[Glowies muttering]

Mr. Moonlight.

If you're up there,
we wanna tell you something important.

[Walter] You make the waves on the ocean.

[Kumi] Blackbird sings
by your silvery light.

[Jay] Bulldog calls up to you.

[yells, grunts]

That trick never gets old.

[laughing]

[caterwauls]

[Cockroach] And we're coming
to you live from the Bug Games,

where the twig throwing event
is really heating up.

[cheering]

Wow! Another big throw from, uh...

Don't ask me.

That family's so big, their parents
just call them all "Hey, you!"

[farts]

[both laugh]

Come on, Crick.
There's five bugs in this event,

so that's only a one-in-five chance
of you coming in last... again.

Crick, they're calling you
for the soda pop throw.

-Come on!
-[stammering]

[sighs]

[groaning in slow motion]

[gasping]

Whoa! A very big throw
from a very, very big bug.

[whimpering]

A classic "This looks like
I know what I'm doing" stalling tactic.

Yep. The old "check the weather" routine.

But I got a forecast
right here for you, Crick.

Sunny with a chance of thunder
and... [farts] wind.

-[laughs]
-I tasted that one.

[groaning]

-[crashing]
-[gasping]

[laughing]

Whoa! That could be
a new bug world record...

for the lowest score ever.

[groans]

[Stinkbug] The bug sprint.

Now, here's an event
where a bug with long legs like Crick

-might even win a medal.
-Seriously?

The only way he'll ever get a medal
is if he invents one.

[grunting]

[giggling]

Whoa!

Ah! I rest my case.

[Stinkbug] And now for the event
which asks the age-old question:

Can a bug jump over a blade of grass?

And I'm not backing Crick this time.

[grunting]

Oh, yeah! Ha-ha!

Great jump by Jay!

But put the cameras away now, folks,
'cause here comes Crick.

Okay. Okay. Don't mess up.

Don't mess up.

[grunting]

[yelling]

[grunts]

Whoa!

That was incredible!
For all the wrong reasons.

A cricket who can't throw,
can't run and can't jump.

It's unbelievable.

[groans]

Hey, maybe I'll win
Bug of the Games this time.

Did you bugs see
my bill-brill-illiant soda pop throw?

I'll re-enact it.

Walter steps into his spin.

[grunts] The crowd goes wild.

Yes!

Oh. Hi, Crick.

Uh...

Hi. I'll see you bugs later.

Poor Crick.

Is he the only bug with no medals?

Oh, my.

Maybe I should give him some of mine.

Aw, but then,
they'd just miss me so much.

[chuckles]

[powering on]

How was your day, Dr. Robot?

Hello, Crick. Today was
the mm-mm Bug Games.

I know. Can we talk about something else?

First was the uh-uh soda pop throw.

One competitor throws
his mmm soda pop backwards.

I-- I was there. Actually...

The grass jump had
an amusing mm-mm accident.

Dr. Robot, right now I--
I just need a friend.

Oh, I see.

Mmm. Friendly dog mode activated.

[barking]

[giggles]

Thanks. That's-- That's perfect.

[sighs] I'm just so lucky
that I have this, this place.

[Cockroach] They're tallying
the points now,

and the Bug of the Games award is down
to the wire.

That's right, Cockroach.

It's gonna be closer
than a millipede's running stride.

Who do you think it'll be?

I'm sad Crick isn't here.

It would be so much funner.

[coughs] This is the biggie.

The medal for Bug of the Games goes to--

[Mee-yow caterwauls]

-[screaming]

[caterwauls]

-[crowd clamoring]
-[Crick] Huh? Huh?

It sounds like the award was a bit
of an upset.

[Mee-yow caterwauls]

Did you hear that?

[caterwauls]

[gasps]

[caterwauls]

Nobody move.

We need a plan. Any ideas?

Where's Crick when you need him?

Oh, my! What do we do? What do we do?!

[meows]

Mee-yow! Over here!

Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.

Crick! You're my hero!

Looks like we've got an exciting,
new games event: Distract the Cat.

But Crick's the only one crazy enough
to compete.

[caterwauls]

Nice kitty. That's the way.

Follow me.

Now, Dr. Robot.

Dr. Robot! Do it! Now!

Malfunction! Malfunction!

No, not that! The other thing!

What are they doing?!

Crick! Get out of there!

[caterwauls]

[yells] Dr. Robot! Dog mode!

[barking]

[caterwauls]

Ha! The old
robot-barking-like-a-dog routine.

Exactly what I would've done.

Yeah? I thought you'd have hidden
under a box. My mistake.

[sighs]

Good dog. I mean, good robot.

[barking]

That was amazing.

You saved everyone, buggy.

Yes. I knew it.

You were so brave!

[giggles]
