- Whoo-hoo!

[clanks]

-[screeching]

-[clinks]

Hello!

We were all very excited

to hear a railway show

was coming to Sodor,

but my best friend, Percy,

got a little overexcited.

- [whistles]

All aboard for a big adventure!

♪ ♪

[Thomas]

The Great Little Railway Show.

- [muttering]

[phone rings]

- Oh, uh--

Hello, yes?

[phone chatter]

Uh--hm--uh, uh--oh?

Mm-hmm.

Well--there are a lot of jobs

to be done today, and uh--

I don't think I have any spare

engines at this current--

- [whistles]

- Oh, oh, just a moment please!

Percy!

- Uh, hold on a moment!

- What's the matter, Sir?

There's a railway show

coming later today,

and I need an engine--

- A railway show?

- Uh--yes, a--a railway show

for little engines.

I need an engine to take some

important items for it

to Ulfstead Castle,

later today.

- Little engines?

You can rely on me, sir.

- Ah, excellent.

Once you've finished your other

jobs, you'll collect some vans

from Brendham

and take them to Ulfstead.

The Earl will be waiting

for you there.

- Just imagine,

a railway show made especially

for little engines!

-[coos]

-[harp music]

[applauding]

- Many were called,but few were chosen.The might of the greatlittle engines is upon us!Tonight, they face theirultimate challenge!But first,let's meet the contenders!- He's green,he's lean,he's a shunting machine!Pleeease... give it up for...Percy!

[applauding]

[crowd chanting "Percy!"]

-[Gordon]

Percy!

Get a move on, little Percy.

I have an important

express train to collect.

- Well I have an important train

to collect, too, Gordon,

as a matter of fact.

There's a railway show

coming to Sodor, and--

- They want a grand, big,

strong engine like me

to be part of it!

Ho, ho, I'm sure

I'll be the best in show.

- Actually, Gordon, the show is

for little engines only.

Not big engines like you.

Sir Topham Hatt said so.

Good-bye!

[whistles]

- [scoffs] Wouldn't

have been a good show anyway.

-[Thomas]

So, Percy continuedwith his other jobs...which led him tothe Blue Mountain Quarry.

- And what's best is it's

for little engines, like us!

- I wonder if my special funnel

would win a prize.

There's not many quite

like it, after all.

- Your funnel is nothing

compared to my splendid wheels.

- Anyway, the show's being held

at Ulfstead Castle.

I hope you can all

make it there. [whistles]

[train chugging]

- Splendid wheels...

[whistle blows]

Steamroller wheels, more like.

- What was Percy talking about?

- Wait till you hear this.

- A railway show?

Just for little engines?

Oh, how exciting!

Ha ha!

Tell Duck when

you next see him

to give you all a lift

over to Ulfstead.

-[Thomas]

The news of therailway show spread quicklyacross the railway...Soon all the little engineson Sodorwere talking aboutthe railway show...but that's whenthe troubles started.

- wagons coming up.

Oh.

Where's Rusty gone?

Merrick,

have you seen Rusty anywhere?

- No, I haven't...

In fact...

I can't see anyone.

- Oh, what kind of railway

are you running here

without any trains

to take us where we need to go?

- Uh--

- I was told that Rex would

pick up the sheep

two hours ago!

- I understand--

- Where is he?

- Excuse me for a moment.

[sighs] Just where

have my engines gone?

- Where is that silly little

engine with my coaches?

- [whistles]

- Hmph.

I see you're behind

time too, Henry.

- Rosie wasn't around

to shunt my train, so...

I had to do it myself.

- [honking]

Thomas was supposed to collect

his passengers at Ffarquhar,

but he never showed up... so,

I had to bring them instead.

Where has he got to?

- And Phillip was supposed to

have brought my coaches.

- I don't know what's going on.

I've had phone calls from

the other railway controllers

claiming that all their engines

have suddenly vanished.

- [whistles]

[breathless] What's this I hear

about a railway show

coming to the island?

And why wasn't I invited

to take part in it?

- [grumbles]

Oh, that railway show...

- Oh... I think I know where

all the engines might be.

But first I've got to

make a few telephone calls.

- When does the show start?

- Dusty Rusty, coming through!

- I'm small enough

to enter the show!

- No you're not!

I am.

- Which way

to the engine competition?

- I can't wait

for the show to start!

- This is ridiculous.

- What's the hold up?

- [whistles]

- [whistles]

- What's going on here?

- [both]

That's what we wanna know.

- Why are you all here

instead of doing your jobs?

- There's confusion and delay

everywhere on the island.

- But, Sir, we're all here

for the little railway show.

For little engines.

Like you said!

- Oh.

- I think you misunderstood

what your controller meant

by "little engines," Percy.

- But if he wasn't talking

about us,

what little engines

was he referring to?

- This kind...

Model engines.

- Oh. I'm sorry

for wasting everyone's time.

- Oh, not at all.

With all these different

engines here,

it would make the show

even more spectacular!

- Very well, Sir Robert,

but we still have a big, real

railway to run, don't forget.

- As the show will be on

for a few days,

each of you will get a chance

to be part of it.

- So long as you get your jobs

done on time.

- Wahoo, heh-heh-hey!

[clapping and whistle blowing]

-[Thomas]

Soon, the showwas in full swing.There were plenty of enginesfor the visitors to enjoy.No matter what the size.

- Wow!

- Congratulations to the winner

of best in show.

- [giggles]

♪ ♪

- [whistles]

Have you ever been

so excited by

how you thought something

was going to be...

only to find out it turned

out completely different?

When Skiff overheard that amermaid was coming to Sodor,he spent the whole daylooking for her.Even though it turned outto be a wooden model...Skiff was very happy to havea big adventure of his own.When Sir Topham Hatt toldPercy about the railway show,he misunderstood.Percy thought it wasgoing to be a showfor little engines like him!But he found outit was actually a showfor even smaller engines.

Sometimes when things

turn out differently

to the way you expected,

it can often be for the better!

Which can be a nice surprise.

So make sure you always give

everything a go.

- Come on, Thomas!

- It's time to go.

- See ya next time!

[whistling]

-[chugging]

-[upbeat music]♪ ♪
