- Whoo-hoo!

Sodor is usually

a very safe place,

thanks to the Search

and Rescue Center,

but one day,

there was an extra big alarm.

[whistle toots]

All aboard for a big adventure!

[Thomas]

Emily to the Rescue.

- Today, the railway safety

inspector

will be carrying out

safety checks

and an emergency drill.

- What's an emergency drill?

- A drill, Percy, is where you

practice what to do

in an emergency.

- But, what will

the emergency be?

- Oh, there won't be

a real emergency.

You'll just hear a siren,

and whoever is closest to

the Search and Rescue Center

should get rocking.

Everybody else can report

to Knapford Station.

And don't forget, keep it safe.

[whistles blow]

- [Thomas]

And so we all got onwith our jobs,and the safety inspectorgot on with his jobs.

- Hmm.

- [clank]

- Hmm!

Full marks for safety, Gordon.

- Oh. Of course.

Safety is my middle name!

- Hmm.

- Extra marks for good looks?

- Rebecca!

[whistle blows]

- Nia!

- [whistle blows]

- Thomas.

- [whistle toots]

Ha, your whistles are as fit

as...well, a whistle!

Well, you're safe and good

to go, Rocky.

Time for the emergency drill!

[alarm blares]

- [gasps]

The emergency siren!

I must be the closest.

Rocky, here I come!

- [Thomas]

Emily may have been racingto get Rocky,but she still made sureshe was safe...

-[whistle toots]

- Whereas Percy...

- Percy! The signal is red!

- Sorry! But, it's the alarm!

I need to get Rocky.

- But you're driving

on the wrong side!

[sighs] And I was gonna get--

Oh, well.

[whistle toots]

There's no point in two of us

getting Rocky.

- [gasps] The siren!

I should get Rocky!

- [James] You stay here.

I'll face the emergency

like the hero I am.

- James, it's just a practice.

- Practice makes perfect,

Thomas, and that's what I am!

Perfect!

[whistle blows]

- Hi, Rebecca!

- Hi, Nia!

[both] I'm getting Rocky!

- Oh, dear.

We can't both get Rocky.

You should go.

You're faster.

[whistle blows]

[whistle toots]

- Oh, I haven't got time

to practice!

I have an express to deliver!

- [Sir Topham Hatt]

Where is everyone else?

- Percy's gone to get Rocky.

- So has Rebecca.

- And so has James!

- Hmm?

- Uh, you can never be too safe.

- [whistle toots]

Emergency!

Hero coming through!

- Huh?

But I'm getting Rocky.

- Rescue engine coming through!

- [both] Percy!

- [wheels squeal]

- Whoa!

- Oh, are you--oh!

[both whimpering]

My shiny red paintwork!

[wailing, sobbing]

[horns honking]

- Quick! There's been

a big emergency!

- Ha! Don't worry, Albert.

It's just a practice.

- No! It's very,

very real, sir.

Percy, Rebecca, and James

are all derailed.

- [gasps] What about Rocky?

- It seems the accident

must have happened

on their way to get to Rocky.

- I'll get Rocky, sir, and meet

you at the accident site.

[whistle toots]

- [car horns honking]

- [Gordon] Huh?

James? Percy? Rebecca?

[whistle blows]

Are you okay?

- I think so.

- Oh, we're fine.

Just a little bump.

- I'm not fine!

My poor paintwork.

- [Thomas whistle toots]

- [Sir Topham Hatt]

Oh, dear, oh, dear.

I'm afraid you'll need to find

a different route, Gordon.

But don't worry, everybody.

Emily is getting Rocky.

- Hmm. All this traffic must be

because the level crossing

is blocked.

Huh?

[gasps] Oh, no!

Bertie, get everyone off

this bridge!

It isn't safe!

- [honks]

But where are you going?

- I've got to get Rocky!

[dramatic music]

- All this confusion and delay

is making me very late

with the express!

- Come on, Rocky, we've got

an emergency to get to.

♪ ♪

- [flagman] Stop, Gordon, stop!

- [Gordon] Oh!

[brakes squealing]

[Gordon gasping]

Oh, oh no!

- [all gasp]

- Oh!

[sighs]

- [people cheering]

- [Gordon sighs]

Thank you.

- [inspector] Well done, Emily!

You prevented a big accident

and saved the day!

- [chuckles]

It was nothing, sir.

- [engines all cheering]

- Emily!

- Well done!

- [Sir Topham Hatt]

I heard all about

your heroic actions, Emily.

You really know how to think on

your wheels and solve problems.

In fact, from now on,

I'd like you to be our official

safety engine!

- Oh, thank you, sir.

- And another thing!

It's also time you had a number,

because I know I can always

count on you.

[both laugh]

- You can, indeed, sir!

[peppy music]♪ ♪

[alarm blaring]

Sorry! Gotta go.

[whistle toots]

Number safety engine

to the rescue!

[Thomas toots whistle]

- Are you able to stay calm

and think clearly

when everyone else

gets in a muddle?

[steam whooshing]

When Terence fell throughthe ice on the frozen lake,everyone started to panic,but it was my quickand calm thinkingthat allowed everyoneto work togetherand help pull Terence offthe ice to safety.And when too many engines wentto get Rocky at the same time,they got in a muddle,and there was chaos,causing confusion and delay.But when Emily went to getRocky on her own,she stayed focused and managedto save the day.

[steam whooshing]

Sometimes, when things get

really busy,

it helps to stay calm.

That way you can think

more clearly and be useful.

- [Annie] Come on, Thomas!

- It's time to go!

- See you next time!

[whistle toots]

[man singing]

- Yeah!

[whistle toots]

[whistle toots]

- All aboard the steam team!Get on board!

- [whistle toots]
