It's always exciting to see

the different types of animals

at the animal park.

One day, when it was

my turn to help out,

I was in for a wild surprise.

[whistle toots]

All aboard for a big adventure!

Thomas' Animal Friends.I was on my way Brendam Docksto pick up anexciting delivery.

[whistle toots]

- Hi, Percy!

- Morning, Thomas.

Where are you off to?

- I'm collecting

some monkeys to take

to the new monkey habitat

at the animal park!

- Monkeys are so funny.

They always make me laugh.

- Me too, Percy.

I love...

[gasps]

Monkeys, whoa!

Oh, no!

They've escaped!

- [Percy giggles]

What did I tell you, Thomas?

Monkeys are hilarious!

- Ah!

- [chuckling]

-[clank]

-Ow!

Oi!

- [grunting]

Oh! Ow! Ow!

- Salty!

The fruit crates.

Knock over the fruit crates!

- I can't see.

There's too many of them.

[groaning]

Mind me paintwork!

- Hold on, everyone!

[monkey chattering]

- [Salty stammering]

Ah! Oh!

- [Percy laughs]

Well done, Thomas!

- [whistle toots]

- Huh?

- Sorry I was late, sir.

We had a few...

problems down at the docks.

- So I see.

Anyway,

there's no time to waste.

The opening of the new monkey

habitat is a very special event

and I still need you

to pick up the passengers.

First, you need

to get in costume, Thomas.

- Oh, great, sir!

I once took part in a fancy

costume contest in India.

It was so much fun.

So what will

my costume be, sir?

- Why, a monkey, of course!

To help celebrate

the special event!

[chuckles]

- [giggles]

Tickles!

[giggling]

How do I look?

- Very cheeky.

[chuckles]

- [imitating monkey chattering]

[whistle toots]

I was on my way to Vicarstownto pick up the passengersfor the animal park,when I ran into Gordon.

- Express coming through--

[gasps]

What on earth?!

- Hello, Gordon!

- Engines dressed as animals?

[shudders]

The indignity!

- I'm helping out

at the animal park.

♪ ♪

[Diesel blows horn]

- [gasps]

Thomas!

Do you know what you look like?

[giggles]

- A cheeky monkey?

- [chuckles]

Oh, I can't wait to tell

the other diesels about this!

[cackling]

- Oh...

- Oh, look!

The grumpy monkey.

[laughing]

Hey, Percy, look at Thomas!

[laughter]

- You, too, Percy?

- [laughs]

Thomas, I only laughed

because you look so funny.

- Oh, this monkey costume

makes me feel silly.

Why did I ever agree to it?

- Huh?

[whistle toots]

Thomas?

- Go on, then, laugh at me.

I don't care.

- But why would I laugh at you?

You look brilliant!

- Well, I feel silly.

I'm supposed to take the

children to the animal park,

but the other engines

keep laughing at me.

- Hmm...

I know!

From now on,

if anyone laughs at you,

just imagine them as an animal!

Just picture it, Thomas.

[Rebecca]

Gordon's big and strong.He's been around a long time,so...he'd be an elephant!

- Oh! The indigni--

[trumpets]

- James would be...a proud lion!

- Meow.

- [Thomas laughing]

- [Rebecca]

Percy is so kind,he's a pretty special engine,so he'd be...a rare and gentle panda.

- Panda!

[Thomas laughing]What about you, Rebecca?- I'd be a leopard,because I'm fast and graceful.

Rarrr!

[grunts]

Okay...maybe not graceful.

- [laughing]

What would I be?

- Obviously, you'd be a monkey.

Your costume's perfect.

- Do you really think that?

- I know it!

The kids you're taking to

the animal park will love it.

[whistle toots]

[whistle tooting]

[children cheering]

Rebecca was right!

They do love me

as a cheeky monkey.

- Really, Thomas?

You look ridiculous.

- And then I rememberedwhat Rebecca said...♪ ♪

- [trumpets]

- [laughing]

♪ ♪

[whistle toots]

- Ha!

Silly monkey Thomas.

- And so, as I made my wayback to the animal park,I imagined allmy friends as animals.

[laughing]

[giggling]

[whistle tooting]

- [laughing]

- [Thomas laughing]

- Huh?

[whistle toots]

- [giggles]

[children cheering]

- Thank you, Thomas.

You did a great job.

I think it's really useful

to have a cheeky monkey

on hand for times like these.

- Anytime, sir.

- Have you ever

tried to be helpful,

but ended up feeling silly?

Once, when Harvey washelping to clear the tracks,he got a branchstuck in his gears.He was worried the otherengines would tease him,so instead of getting help,he tried to fixthe problem himselfand made it a whole lot worse.I dressed as a monkey to helpout at the animal park,but when the otherengines laughed at me,I felt silly.Rebecca told me not to worry.She helped me finda fun way to laugh offthe things they saidand get the job done.

So remember,

don't stop being helpful

or doing what you love

because you're afraid

of what others might think.
