03x25 - Royal Vacation

Post by bunniefuu »

SOFIA: I was a girl
in the village, doing all right

Then I became a princess overnight

Now I gotta figure out
how to do it right

So much to learn and see

Up in the castle with my new family

In a school that's just for royalty

A whole enchanted world
is waiting for me

I'm so excited to be

CHORUS: Sofia the first

SOFIA: I'm finding out
what being royal's all about

CHORUS: Sofia the first

SOFIA: Making my way
it's an adventure every day

CHORUS: Sofia
SOFIA: It's gonna be my time

CHORUS: Sofia

SOFIA: To show them all that I'm

ALL: Sofia the First

[SOFIA READING]

Uh! Where is everyone?

Sorry I'm late for game night.

I was practicing derby
and lost track of time.

Mm-hmm.

I guess the rest of the family
lost track of time, too.

I'll go see
what's holding your father up.

And I'll go find Amber and James.

Can our first game be Who Am I?

I've been working on
my Cedric impression.

-"Merlin's mushrooms!"
-[LAUGHING]

Amber, what are you doing?
It's game night, remember?

Oh! I completely forgot.

Oh, I got so caught up
redesigning my closet.

So what do you think of this?

I want to install a mini-planetarium

so I can look at the stars

and choose a stylish outfit
at the same time!

Great idea, but Mom's waiting.

Right. [GASPS]

Hold on.

My telescope can double
as my hat rack.

I'll tell Mom you're coming in a bit?

Uh, yes, yes, I'll be right there.

Thanks, Sofia! [EXCLAIMS EXCITEDLY]

-Halt!
-[YELPS] Why?

My knights are on a quest
to rescue King Ashford,

and you're about to smoosh the king.

Oh, sorry.

But it's great
you're excited about playing a game,

because Mom wants us all
in the family room for game night.

This is no game, Sofia.

This is a brave and daring quest.

Can you tell Mom I'll be there soon?

[SIGHS] Sure.

Rolly, ready for game night?

Oh! Is it that time already?

The royal builder and I
are designing a new castle

as a gift for the elves,

and I've been having a blast
making these turrets.

But it's game night.

Uh, Miranda?

What is it?

Would you mind
if I quickly built the great hall?

And then you'll come to game night.

As soon as I'm finished.

Oh, goody.

I guess they're not coming. [SIGHS]

I guess not.

Sofia, can you remember the last time

we all did something together
as a family?

Well, we had breakfast together today.

Oh, wait. Amber was at
an astronomy club meeting.

What about
the all-kingdom tea yesterday?

No. Dad was interviewing
a new court jester.

[SIGHS]

I guess it has been a while.

I mean, don't get me wrong.

I'm glad we all have
hobbies and school and exciting jobs,

but spending time together
is important, too.

It would just be nice
if we could all get

some quality time as a family,

away from our work and hobbies.

What if we go somewhere together,

on a vacation?

We could take a ski trip,
or go boating.

Ooh! Or go to
the royal elephant rain forest.

I've always wanted to see
the flying elephants there. [CHUCKLES]

That sounds fantastic, Mom.

I think so, too.
I'll book a trip right away.

This is just what the family needs.

Great idea, Sofia.

To the coach, everyone.

Our family vacation awaits!

Yay!

[GASPS]

We're taking the new cloud coaster?

My engineers say it's a horseless,
steam-powered dynamo.

And from the look of it, I agree.

Mom thought you'd wanna drive it.

And right you are, my queen.

Oh, I've been dying
to take this baby out for a spin.

Oh. Not so fast, you two.

Remember, we're going on a vacation
to be together.

No distractions.

But without these,
how do you expect us to have fun?

By spending time with each other.

-All right, fine.
-Here.

Now then, is everyone ready?

Just a few more pieces of luggage
to pack, Your Majesties.

[GRUNTING]

-I hope we didn't over-pack.
-Of course I did.

[GRUNTING]

There! All set.

Have a wonderful trip,
and drive safely, Your Majesty.

[ENGINE STARTS]

[ENGINE SPUTTERING]

KING ROLAND II: All right then.

Off we go!

[YELPS]

Hey, Dad, remind me,
how long is this vacation again?

-Five days.
-Which will be very relaxing.

It'll be fantastic.

Mother, um, what do you say
we cut the vacation to,

one night?

Oh, I really wanna get back
to my closet remodeling.

And my knights were just about
to vanquish the dragons.

Come on. We're going to have
a great time together.

Did I tell you?

We're going to see flying elephants.

Plus, this vacation brochure
says there will also be

macaws, ocelots, sloths even.

Doesn't that sound fun?

Not as fun as
an in-closet planetarium.

And we'll have our very own tour guide

to show us the rain forests.

The lodge looks really fancy
and luxurious.

And look, it comes with
its own cruise boat.

A fancy lodge could be nice.

And a cruise boat sounds
pretty okay, too.

This will be the best family
vacation we've ever taken.

[SQUEALS] Can't wait.

Now, let's kick in
some extra flying horsepower.

[ALL YELL]

Ooh, I think we're here.

Yes, the lodge should be
coming up soon.

KING ROLAND II: Look, there it is.

It looks like a little...

[SHUDDERS] wooden hut.

Well, it probably just looks small
from up here.

[ALL GROAN]

Wasn't the lodge supposed to be
fancy and luxurious?

Well, yes, it does look
much fancier in the brochure.

Perhaps it's rustic on the outside,

but as grand as a castle
on the inside.

Let's take a look.

Think that hole
is supposed to be there?

Well, the brochure does say
the lodge has very sunny rooms.

So, there's that.

I think this is
supposed to be the bedroom.

Oh, hammocks.

Hm, how quaint.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

Huh? All our luggage is gone!

Must've fallen out on the ride here.

[PANTS] But all my clothes...

What am I going to change into
for dinner?

Come on, everyone.

We don't need fancy stuff
and a million outfits

-to have a good time.
-We don't?

No. The only thing we need
is each other.

Your mother's right.

Why don't we go do something?

Let's go on an adventure.

Great idea, Sofia.

That'll get us into

-the old vacation spirit,
-[WOOD CREAKING]

and out of this cabin.

Well, I am way ahead of you.

I booked us on Fabulous Freddy's
Flying Elephant tour.

Our guide Freddy

-should be here any minute.
-Sounds great.

-[BIRD SCREECHING]
-Hey!

-What is it?
-It's a note from our tour guide.

Oh. It looks like
Fabulous Freddy is sick in bed,

and can't take us to see
the flying elephants today.

So what do we do? Stay here?

Ugh! Do we have to?

Wait. He sent us a map
of the rain forest.

Oh, and a whistle.

"For herding flying elephants." Hm.

We can go on the flying elephant tour
ourselves.

Why not? We'll take the raft.

Oh, uh, I mean, the cruise boat.

Everyone, up and at 'em.

The first adventure
of our family vacation

is about to start.

What's everyone waiting for? Come on.

[PRINCESS AMBER SIGHS LOUDLY]

We've been on this raft for an hour,

and the only wildlife
we've seen are mosquitoes.

-[MOSQUITOS BUZZING]
-Ow! Oh! [GROANS]

According to this map,

the spider monkey refuge
is right around here.

Spider monkeys, that will be fun!

If we see any.

[SIGHS] My knights could be
saving King Ashford right now.

[GASPS] Oh! A spider monkey!

[SCREECHING]

Let's dock and take a closer look.

[GASPS]

[GASPS] Oh, look, Rolly.

Aw! You're a cute little fur ball,
aren't you?

[GRUNTS AND GROANS]

That was not cute.

[ALL SCREECHING]

PRINCE JAMES: Ambush!

-[PRINCESS AMBER YELPS]
-Hey!

Back on the raft, everyone.

[MONKEYS SCREECHING]

Let's go!

[MONKEYS CONTINUE SCREECHING]

[ALL EXCLAIMING]

Those guys have good arms.

Hang on!

Ow!

Is everyone okay?

SOFIA: Uh-huh.
PRINCE JAMES: I guess.

If you don't mind
smelling like mulberries.

I think we can handle having
a few berries thrown at us, Amber.

Where to next, Sofia?

It's kind of hard to say.

The map is covered with berry juice.

Just a suggestion, Miranda.

We've been out here for a while,

we've seen some [CHUCKLES]
adorable spider monkeys.

What do you say
we head back to the lodge

for a little rest?

Fabulous idea, Daddy!

You can turn around right there.

Wait. Where's your sense of adventure?

Those monkeys were a little feisty,

but that's no reason to turn back.

Mom's right. I still really wanna see
the flying elephants.

I do, too, so let's go find some.

After that, I promise,
we can head back to the lodge.

I think that sounds
like a reasonable plan.

As long as there are
no spider monkeys, I'm in.

[SIGHS] All right, fine.

It looks like the flying elephants

live on the other side
of Parrot Glade,

which is just up ahead.

Then pick up that paddle, Rolly.

Let's get to that glade.

All right, everyone,

time to break in those hiking boots
and start walking.

Trees, plants, no flying elephants.

-Can we go now?
-[SQUAWKS] Can we go now?

[LAUGHING] We're in Parrot Glade,
all right.

Let's go this way.

PARROT: Let's go this way.

-PARROT: Let's go this way.
-[SQUAWKING]

Wait. Which way?

Miranda, which way did you go?

Miranda, which way
did you go? [SQUAWKS]

Which way did I go?

Which way did I go? [SQUAWKS]

Now where did you go?

PARROT:
Now where did you go? [SQUAWKS]

KING ROLAND II: Who, me?
PARROT: Who, me?

KING ROLAND II: Hey, cut it out.
PARROT: Hey, cut it out.

I'm getting confused.

Mom, Dad!

Whoa!

[YELPS]

Sofia! Mom!

Dad! Whoa.

[STRAINING]

Whoa!

Oh, no. My boots.

[SIGHS] We all went
in different directions.

I've got an idea.

Everyone head for that hill
with the arch in the middle.

We'll meet up there.

[SQUAWKING] Meet up there.

-Oh, I see it.
-Me, too.

-On my way.
-Coming.

[WHISTLES] Coming.

Oh, thank goodness.

[GRUNTS]

I thought I'd be lost
in there forever.

Like my boots.

The map says this is where
the flying elephants should be.

We're not still going
to sightsee, are we?

Look at us. We're a mess.

Not to mention shoeless.

Oh, I can fix that.

PRINCE JAMES: Wow. These are really...

Er... Earthy. Earthy.

Now, we're so close to finding
the flying elephants,

can't we just stay a bit longer?

But I don't see
any elephants, Miranda.

Why don't we use the whistle
to call them?

Right.

[BLOWING WHISTLE]

[SIGHS] Still don't see any elephants.

Neither do I.

-Back to the raft?
-Definitely.

Hold on. Maybe we can spot them
from the top of the hill.

I'll go take a look. Be right back.

[GROANS] Oh,
where are those flying elephants?

I need to get this vacation
back on track.

[GRUNTS]

Whoo! I made it up here fine.

Now, elephants.

Elephants. [SIGHS IN EXASPERATION]

Where are they?

Let's try this again.

-[GROWLS]
-[GASPS]

[TRUMPETING]

[QUEEN MIRANDA YELPS]

QUEEN MIRANDA: Everyone run.

Stampede!

-Flying elephants!
-Guess Mom found them.

-This way. Come on!
-[QUEEN MIRANDA SCREAMS]

Go! Go, go, go, go, go!

-Whoa!
-[TRUMPETING]

Everyone, duck!

[ALL YELP]

SOFIA: Oh, our raft.

Now can we please end
this awful vacation early,

and go home?

I must say, I second that plan.

I third it.

Oh, yes, okay.

We can go home.

But without the raft,
how can we get back to the lodge?

Well, I suppose we'll have to walk.

Walk? Oh, could anything else go wrong
on this trip?

[THUNDER CRASHES]

We need to find shelter
before the rain comes.

That looks like a cave.

QUEEN MIRANDA: Quick, let's go.

Oh, I'm getting soaked!

Guess this is why they
call it the rain forest.

Come on, we're almost at the cave.

At least it's dry.

Sort of.

It's dry enough
to wait out the storm here.

And from the looks of it,
we may have to wait all night.

Spend the night here?

Oh, no, no, no.

Oh, I can't believe I'm saying this,

but I miss that dusty old lodge.

-[WIND GUSTING]
-Oh!

This vacation is a total failure.

I am so sorry I forced you all
on this trip.

You didn't force us, Mom.

No, no, I did.

No one wanted to come,
but I... I made you,

and now look at us.

[SHIVERS]

Oh, I feel terrible

for putting you all in this situation.

Wait! I know how we can warm up.

Let's build a campfire.

Excellent. I'll gather some tinder.

I'll help, too, Dad.

I'll make us a seating area.

Even a cave can have decor.

[BLOWING]

-Smoke.
-We have an ember.

-It worked!
-Nice job, Dad.

Mom, come over here and warm up.

Oh, that does feel good.

Why is everyone standing
when you can all relax

on your very own rock ottoman?

Ah! I don't know about you guys,

but I'm actually pretty comfy.

-Me, too.
-Not too shabby.

[GASPS] And look,
I think I have something for dinner.

And I have some berries for dessert.

So, since there's nothing else to do,

anyone up for game night?

-Okay.
-I guess.

Sure. Why not?

Let's start with Who Am I?

Oh, I have one.

Okay, who am I?

"Let's make it work."

Baileywick!

Wow, that was spot-on.

[ALL LAUGHING]

I'll go next.

"Oh, jiggly wiggly pudding. Great!"

-Dad!
-Daddy!

[ALL LAUGHING]

Ah, the rain finally stopped.

Well, let's head back to the lodge.

It's gonna be a pretty long trek
without the raft.

[GASPS] Oh, no. Look.

[TRUMPETING]

-What do we do?
-Run, obviously.

Wait.

Miranda, be careful.

[TRUMPETS]

Hi.

I know I scared you last time.

I promise I won't do it again.

No whistle, see.

[TRUMPETS]

They're friendly. Really.

I'm James.

Uh, nice to meet you.

-[TRUMPETS]
-[LAUGHS] Whoa!

Do you like berries.

Oh, that tickles. [GIGGLES]

Hm. You're a pretty
magnificent fellow.

Uh, when you're not stampeding us.

Since we're all friends now,

do you think you could do us a favor?

Like what?

My family needs to
get back to our lodge,

but since we can't use our raft,

could you maybe fly us there?

Well, I don't know.

We've had such a tough time
in the rain forest,

and we could really use
the help. Please?

Hold on, let me ask my family.

[ALL TRUMPETING]

My family says... let's do it!

-Yay!
-Come on.

-Climb aboard.
-Whoa!

-Whoa!
-ALL: Whoa!

Looks like we're going for a ride.

[SOFIA EXCLAIMING]

Wow. This is even better than
the cloud coaster.

Somehow, this rain forest
is so much better than yesterday.

I still can't believe
that we spent the night

in a dark, dirty cave.

Oh, it wasn't that dark and dirty.

[LAUGHING] Okay. Yes, it was.

But you know what?

It was still fun,
because we were together.

[SINGING]
Our trip got off to a rocky start

When we arrived at the lodge

That looked like it would fall apart

Then all our bags
wound up getting lost

And we survived the monkey tribe

And their awful berry toss

But oh, what a vacation

At times, we wanted to give in

ALL: But we braved the rough weather

And got through it together

Yes, we still made it through

And had more fun than we ever knew

Look, the lodge.

I suppose I should be happy
to be going home,

but I don't know.

Yeah, we never did see
those hot springs.

And there's probably
a lot more exotic animals to see.

Are you saying
what I think you're saying?

We'd like to stay.

-Can we?
-Yes, can we?

Well, that's okay by me.

-I mean, that's fantastic by me.
-[CHUCKLES]

Take us to the hot springs, please.

At first, I thought
that this would be a bore

BOTH: But the adventure we found

Has made us want to stay for more

Some bumps, a smidge of catastrophe

Helped to remind us all

That we love being a family

ALL: And oh, what a vacation

At times, we wanted to give in

But we braved the rough weather

And got through it together

After all that we've been through

We're having more fun
than we ever knew

After all that we've been through

We're having more fun

Having more, having more fun

Than we ever knew

Than we ever knew

[SOFIA CHUCKLES]

SOFIA: I can't wait
for our next family vacation, Mom.
