You see, kids, my father
planted this tree...

When he was
just an otter pup,
like you.

Here. Take a look
at this picture.

My grandfather
gave my father a seed from
a purple pompanut pinecone.

my father planted it in a spot
that gets plenty of sunshine.

my father watered
that little sprout every day,

and it grew tall and strong.

my father grew up too.

and when my father got married,
he got married right under
this very tree.

Kids, old pompanut here's been
a part of my family for years,

And now it's time
to say good-bye.

Good-bye ?

Kids, I'm afraid old pompanut
is very, very old,

And, well, its time
has come, I guess.

- Good-bye, old pompanut.

mayor jeff ?

Kids, this tree
is very sick,

And I don't think it's
going to get any better.
