04x18 - The Mystic Isles: A Very Mystic Wassalia

Post by bunniefuu »

SOFIA: I was a girl
in the village, doing all right

Then I became a princess overnight

Now I gotta figure out
how to do it right

So much to learn and see

Up in the castle with my new family

In a school that's just for royalty

A whole enchanted world
is waiting for me

I'm so excited to be

CHORUS: Sofia the first

SOFIA: I'm finding out
what being royal's all about

CHORUS: Sofia the first

SOFIA: Making my way
it's an adventure every day

CHORUS: Sofia
SOFIA: It's gonna be my time

CHORUS: Sofia

SOFIA: To show them all that I'm

ALL: Sofia the first

[SOFIA READING]

And so ends our last Protector meeting
of the year.

Happy Wassailia, one and all.

ALL: Happy Wassailia!

-[SIGHS]
-Sofia, is everything all right?

Oh, I... I'm just a little nervous.

I hope Chrysta likes
the Wassailia gift I made her.

I'm sure she'll love it.

She's lucky to have you as a trainee.

Thanks.

It's just Chrysta can be...

A little grumpy sometimes?

Maybe a little.

I'm sure it'll be fine.

CHRYSTA: Princess, there you are.

Happy Wassailia, Princess.

Oh, wow. Happy Wassailia, Chrysta.

It's my favorite day of the year,

'cause on the Mystic Isles,

Wassailia is full of surprises.

I'm already surprised.

I didn't know you liked Wassailia
so much.

Do you have any idea
how we celebrate around here?

Uh, no.

Tell the girl, Galial.

Well, on the Isle of Centaurs,

they hold a big Wassailia Day race.

And on the Isle of Fauns...

Turon's family plays music together

under the Wassailia moon.

And on Garish's Isle,

all the giants come thundering
over the hills to his house.

-Yep, where we do what giants do best.
-What's that?

Bake cookies, of course.
Who wants one?

-I'll take one, Garish.
-Me, too.

[LAUGHS] Here you go.

Uh... [GRUNTS]

Uh, thanks. [LAUGHS NERVOUSLY]

This is big.

Like I said, full of surprises. Mm!

Speaking of surprises...

Apologies, everyone,
but we've just heard.

There's trouble on one of the isles.

We need a Protector
to volunteer this Wassailia Eve.

-Oh, I'll do it.
-But Chrysta,

-don't you have holiday plans?
-Of course, I do.

Every year, my whole family
squeezes into my little cottage

for a fairy feast.

But that's not for hours.

And Chrysta always volunteers
on Wassailia.

Well, I am the number one Protector.

Fill me in, chiefs.

Chrysta volunteers on Wassailia
every year?

That doesn't seem fair.
Can't you all take turns?

We've tried, but you know Chrysta.

You can't argue with her.

Hm. Then maybe I'll go along.

Huh. Have fun with that.

Not to worry. I'll do you both proud.

And so will I.
Chrysta, I'm coming with you,

-and I won't take no for an answer.
-Great.

We'll work together and get back
in plenty of time for both of our...

Wait, what did you say?

I said great.

It's Wassailia.

The more, the merrier.

Now, call your unicorn friend.

We gotta get to
the Isle of Rompkins, and quick.

Happy Wassailia.

Ah, what a day!

I hope it snows.

I love making snow fairies.

Chrysta's in a good mood.

Yeah. She really likes Wassailia.

Which reminds me.

Here's a little something
for you, Skye.

Molasses and peppermint.

My favorite!

Thanks for helping on the holiday.

I hope it doesn't take too long.

[CHUCKLES] Never fear, my princess.

'Twill be hours before
the sun sets over Starmane Hill,

when my herd displays
their holiday ice sculptures.

That sounds beautiful.

ELFALFA: Oh, ho!

One side! Deliveries coming through!

Look out, Elfalfa.

Oh, sorry about that, Skye.

Chrysta, I've got a ton of packages,

and this year, oh, ho, I am determined

to stay on schedule.

-Who is that?
-That is Elfalfa,

the elf who delivers gifts
between the isles every Wassailia.

And every year, there are more.

I've got gifts from the trolls

that need to go to the centaurs,

and from the fauns to the giants,

and... Who are you?

I'm Sofia. Nice to meet you.

Sofia? Sofia.

You must be new.

So Elfalfa, you gonna need
my help again this year?

No. This year, I've got a helper.

My daughter, Elfabetty.

[GIGGLES]

Gifts, candy!

Uh, not for you, Elfabetty.

Aw.

[CHUCKLES] Isn't she the cutest?

Don't worry, Chrysta.

This year, I've got it
completely under control.

Don't grab the reins, Elfabetty!
Don't grab the reins!

Is he going to be okay?

Probably not.

Now buckle up, Princess.

We're here. Get ready for...

I know.
Some serious Protector business.

Right. Of course.

But first, some holiday fun.

Princess Sofia, it's horrible.

What happened, Harumph?

Our Wassailia tree got stolen.

-Poof!
-Whoosh, gone.

-While we were sleeping.
-That's awful.

Yeah, and we were
really looking forward

to having our first dainty holiday,

like you and Queen Amber taught us.

But without a tree,
what will we stand around

while we sip Slog Nog?

Want a cup?

Yes, please.

To Wassailia!

ALL: Wassailia!

[LOUD SLURPING]

Mm, extra crunchy.

It's the dried moss.
You sure you don't want a cup?

I would, but I think I should start
looking for clues.

[GASPS] Like that.

-[ALL GASP]
-HARUMPH: It's our tree.

It wasn't stolen.

It fleweth away.

Not yet, it hasn't.

Princess, after that evergreen!

No time to be dainty.

Bam, crash!

Do you have a lot of flying trees
in the Mystic Isles?

First one I've ever seen.

SOFIA: Whoa!

It stopped on its own.

[PANTING] Huff, puff.

Hey, this is where
I found the tree in the first place.

Well, it's all yours.

You know what this calls for?

An upside down holiday cake?

Yum.

Hey, what's that?

-[GASPS]
-CHRYSTA: What's what?

Something I think we should
take a closer look at.

Harumph, um,

where did you get those ornaments?

Oh, they grow right on the branches.

Sproing! [CHUCKLES]

Isn't it the best Wassailia tree ever?

It just might be.

I wish to be small.

Uh, Sofia?

-Since when can you shrink?
-I'll be right back.

Sofia, wait.

[SIGHS IN EXASPERATION] Trainees

Hi, there.

Don't be afraid.

I'm Sofia. Who are you?

I'm Humbelle.

And I'm Hidey.

We are Hoodwinks.

And please don't hurt us.

I won't.

I'm a Protector-in-training.

I'm here to help you.

Yeah? Tell that
to your big, huge friend.

He stole our home.

Your home? You mean this tree?

Yeah. We live in this spruce
out in the middle of nowhere.

Where it's safe.

It's okay. Just tell me what happened.

All we know is, one minute,

we were safe in our branches sleeping.

And the next,
we woke up in a Rompkin mud garden,

surrounded by big, scary monsters,

smashing and crashing everything!

That does sound scary.

It's okay, Hidey.

There you go.

So, I came up with an escape plan.

We waited until the Rompkins
weren't looking,

and then, with the rest of our family,

we each grabbed a branch
and flew our tree home.

Oh, I think there's been
a big misunderstanding.

Oh, there sure has.

That big galoot
mistook us for pushovers.

Which we [CHUCKLES SOFTLY]
kind of are.

But we're not giving up our home.

-We might.
-ALL: She's right, we might.

Look, I know Rompkins
are big and loud,

but if you just talk to Harumph,

you'll see that he's not scary at all.

-He's...
-Right behind you.

Hello, talking ornaments.

[ALL SHRIEKING]

Uh, what did I say?

These are Hoodwinks, Harumph.

This tree is their home.

That's right, it is our home.

Oh, no. Hoodwinks, I'm so sorry.

You are?

We Rompkins would never
wanna take away anybody's home.

Really?

We just wanted
the best Wassailia tree,

and yours was so beautiful.

But we don't need [SNIFFLES]

such a nice one.

My family can celebrate
around something else instead.

Like a rock.

[CRYING] Sob!

ALL: Aw.

Harumph, wait.

Hoodwinks, if the Rompkins
promise not to take your tree,

could they celebrate
with your family here?

[ALL WHISPERING]

Okay, you tell him.

Yes, they can.

Oh, la!

That's my heart singing!

[LAUGHING]

Ow! Uh...

Uh, we'll be very dainty.

I promise.

Let's make a place fit for a party.

ALL: Yay!

Ooh!

I'm pretty!

Like a tree!

We did it, Chrysta.

You sure did, Princess. Nice work.

So I guess we can both get
an early start home, right?

Chrysta? What are you doing?

I'm decorating.

Look. A glowing garland.

But I thought you had
to get back to your family.

There's plenty of time.

-Join me.
-Okay.

You're good at this.

Do you decorate your home?

[LAUGHS] Oh, yeah,
you should see my cottage.

Lights of every color.

It's the brightest house
in the village.

My brothers and sisters help me.

-Sounds beautiful.
-It is.

-Now let's hang some way up...
-[BRACELETS PING]

Right. Still on duty.

What's up, chief?

Oh, it's Elfalfa.

He has fallen behind again
in his deliveries,

and needs your help.

Yeah, I could see that coming.

Where is he?

Well, by now,
he should be right behind you.

Oh, oh, Elfabetty!

Daddy needs his eyes to land.

[ALL GASP]

ELFALFA: Elfabetty!

-[CRASHING]
-[ELFALFA YELPING]

Well, hello... Hello, Chrysta.

Remember when I said I had it
all under control this year?

-Yeah.
-Well, I don't. I need your help.

That's what Protectors are for.

You don't seem so behind.

You hardly have any gifts left.

Oh, ho. These aren't
the gifts I need you to deliver.

Those are.

Wow.

Here's the who, the what,
and the where to deliver to.

[SIGHS] All these places.

This is going to take a while.

Yeah, but we'll get to see Wassailia
on all the different isles.

Come on, let's have some fun. [LAUGHS]

Give your magical hooves
a rest, my good reindeer.

Skye the unicorn hath it from here.

SOFIA: First delivery,
the Isle of Crystal.

CHRYSTA: I love
the Isle of Crystal during Wassailia.

All of the lights
reflected in the crystals,

and, oh, we're in time for

-Azurine's Singing Crystal concert.
-[CHILDREN SINGING IN DISTANCE]

Wow, that is beautiful,

but Chrysta, I'm a little worried.

It's getting late, and our families
will be waiting for us.

Don't worry. Enjoy it all!

That's what Wassailia is for!
[CHUCKLING]

[SINGING] There's no other day
quite like Wassailia

You won't believe your eyes

Wanna see what I mean?

Visit good Azurine

CHILDREN: Her magic crystals harmonize

Encore!

There's no other day
the unicorns gather

To carve up blocks of ice

Just imagine the fun
when they all sculpt as one

To make a slice of paradise

We are known in these parts
for our magical arts

Today that's especially the case

But the miracle here

Is friends far and near

Come celebrate in the same place

That really sounds great

But we're gonna be late

As soon as I fix his snow face

There's no other day
to see mermaids frolic

They rarely come ashore

MERMAIDS: But watch us shake a fin
as we swim with our kin

'Cause that is what Wassailia's for

Yes, that is what Wassailia's for

Chrysta.

I know. We have to go.

But I just wanna say on this holiday

No matter the weather

We all come together

'Cause that is just

[MERMAIDS CHEERING]

What Wassailia's for

SKYE: Ah, and that was
the last package, my ladies.

See, Sofia? I told you
there was plenty of time.

I guess you were right.

Now, I don't know about you,

but I'm ready for
some holiday home cooking.

Mm. I can almost taste the plum bread

and banana pudding.

Oh, you like banana pudding?

Do I? Mm-hmm!

There's nothing I love more
than homemade banana pudding

on Wassailia.

It's my favorite!

Speaking of which

-forgot to give you...
-[PINGS]

Chrysta, it's Elfalfa.

We know, he was behind schedule,

but we've delivered all the packages.

No, it's not the packages.

It's his daughter, Elfabetty.

They were delivering a package

on the Isle of Forever Frost,

and now, she's lost in a storm.

-We're on it.
-Let's hurry.

Look. There.

There he is.

Chrysta, Sofia.

I can't find Elfabetty.

I thought she was right here

napping under this blanket,

and when I looked, she'd vanished.

When did you see her last?

When we delivered a package
to the Arcticondors.

She must've crawled out of the sleigh

while I was inside their cave.

I know them.
I know where their cave is.

So do I, but with the storm,
I can't tell where I'm going.

What do we do?

What a Protector always does.

Bring a little light to the situation.

Yes, that is a little light.

Perhaps my ladies would like
a whole lot more.

Stay close. We're almost there.

If you say so.

Elfabetty!

Elfabetty.

Oh, Stormy, have you seen Elfabetty?

We can't find her anywhere.

Sorry, we haven't seen her,
not since you left.

Oh, where could she be?

Don't worry. I'm sure she's okay.

My friend, we'll search
the whole isle if we have to.

Please hurry. We must find her.

Let's search the forest below.

[GIGGLING]

Hold on.

I think we're in for
another Wassailia surprise.

Candy!

Elfabetty!

Oh, thank goodness!

Oh, you silly girl.

Did you climb in there
when Daddy wasn't looking

to find some candy?

And now I have a tummy ache.

You take her home.
We'll deliver your last gifts.

It's all right. These are all for her.

How can I ever thank you?

I know.

Next year, you're both getting

a nice delivery from me.

I can't wait.

Farewell!

And oh, ho,
happy Wassailia to everyone!

[EXHALES] It's over.

[SIGHS] Yeah, I guess it is.

That's it for Wassailia
for another year.

What do you mean? It's just begun.

Now you can go home
to all your brothers and sisters.

Yes, of course.

But, just in case.

Anything else, chief?

All is quiet.

Thank you both.

Go, enjoy your holiday.

Okay, then, uh...

Uh, bye.

Huh?

Happy Wassailia, Chrysta.

Are you ready to return
to the Ever Realm, my princess?

Skye, is it my imagination,

or was Chrysta acting
a little strangely?

I did not notice.

But whatever ails her,

I trust she will soon be cured

by a little caroling
and opening of gifts.

[GASPS] My gift.

Oh, I forgot to give it to Chrysta.

Skye, what do you say
we drop the sleigh off,

and take one last ride
to Chrysta's house?

'Tis my honor.

On to the Isle of Fairies.

SOFIA: Which cottage is Chrysta's?

I think it's that one.

Chrysta lives there?

But where are
all the lights and decorations

she told us about?

I am perplexed.

Where is Chrysta's family?

I don't know.

Sofia, what are you doing here?

I forgot to give you this.

I made it myself.

Oh.

Oh, thanks.

Happy Wassailia.

Chrysta, wait. May I come in?

Oh, um,

it's really not the best time.

Okay. Fine.

Is everything okay?

Where is your family?

Your brothers and sisters?

All the decorations you told me about?

Oh, uh, [LAUGHS NERVOUSLY]

they should be here any minute.

Chrysta.

Okay, okay. [SIGHS]

The truth is,

I don't have a family.

I spend Wassailia alone.

But it's fine.

I mean, I'm usually so tired

from spending the day making sure
all the other isles are taken care of.

You know, it's fine.

Is that why you always volunteer
on Wassailia,

so you can celebrate
with everyone else?

What? [LAUGHING] Sofia,
now you're just being ridiculous.

I like to come home

after a long day
of Wassailia protecting

and kick my feet up.

No one to bother me.

I can just relax.

But no one should be alone
on Wassailia.

You should come to Enchancia
and spend it with me and my family.

Just because you feel bad for me?

[LAUGHS] No, thanks.

It's not that.

Listen, Princess, I'm a Protector.

I help people.
I don't need people to help me.

-But...
-I did what I do every year.

I celebrated
on all the different isles.

Now, I'm fine by myself.

So, please, go home to your family.

Well, my princess, at least you tried.

She's got it all wrong.

I wasn't inviting her
because I felt bad for her.

It's just, she's done so much for me.

And for many others.

That's right.

So many. Come on, Skye.

-Where are we going?
-Everywhere.

[SNIFFLES]

Princesses.

[FESTIVE MUSIC PLAYING]

What's going on?

Where is that music coming from?

No. No, no, no, no.

You don't need to do this. I'm fine.

You should all go,
be with your families.

But don't you see, Chrysta?

You helped us all today.

And every day.

And that makes you our family.

Well, what do you know?

Another Wassailia surprise.

Thank you all.

Uh, I'd invite you in,

if I had something to serve everybody.

Will plum bread and banana pudding do?

It was Sofia's suggestion.

[GASPS] They're my favorites.

Thank you, Sofia.

Happy Wassailia, Chrysta.

You know what? It is.

[LAUGHS SOFTLY]

Well,

what are you all sitting around for?

Come on in, everybody.

Let the party begin!

Yay! Happy Wassailia!
