Oh, hi! It's so good to see you!

Brrr.

Sure is cold outside.
Come on in.

[sniffing]

[sniffing]

Hey... What's that smell?

[sniffing]

Hm?

[sniffing]

[gasps] It's you!

[sniffing] Ooh!

Tell me, did you just
make a snow angel?

Because you smell
like fresh snow.

[exhales]

Or do you smell
this good all the time?

[laughs]

One thing I love about
the Big Blue House

is how cozy and warm it is.

It could be ten below outside,

but boy, is it
ever toasty in here!

Yes! There's nothing
like a nice warm, cozy,

toasty house
on a cold winter's day.

And even better, is a nice nap,
in a nice warm, cozy,

toasty house, on a winter's day,
don't you agree?

And lucky for me,
I happen to be a little

[yawns]

sleepy right now, so that's what
I'm gonna do! Take a nice nap.

Now, as you know Bears
are quite particular

about their sleeping places.

So. I like one pillow,
no more, no less.

I like it cool which is why
it's chilling by the window.

Now, as for the blanket acrylic,
no more...

OJO: Bear! Bear!

Ojo, Ojo what is it?
What's wrong?

I was out at the pond
and I went, and the ducks...

then they weren't there...
and then the robins,

they weren't there
either and... and...

Ojo, Ojo... it's okay.

But I'm really worried,
Bear, because...

It's really cold, outside...

Ojo, Ojo, Ojo...
Calm down! It's okay.

Look, tell you what,
why don't we go downstairs

and have a nice cup of cocoa
and I'll tell you all about it.

-Okay? C'mon, let's go.
-Okay, are you sure? Okay...

-Okay...
-Okay... Okay...

Hey, why don't you come on too?

[guitar music]

Some nice hot cocoa.

There you go.

-Bear?
-Yes?

I don't think that you stirred
this enough. See? There's, um,

little clods of cocoa
floating around in it.

Cocoa clods. Okay.

[soft piano music]

-Better?
-Yeah, thanks, Bear.

-Sure.
-So, anyway,

I went down to the pond, and I
was going to visit the ducks.

-They're my friends.
-I know.

Well, I just love the way
they waddle and they quack.

Yea, hey ducks are funny.

But anyway, I waited, and
I waited and they never came!

And then I started to get
really, really scared,

cause it's so cold
and everything.

And I thought maybe something
really bad had happened to them.

No, no, no, Ojo.
Nothing bad has happened.

But Bear, they're gone!
That's bad.

Νo, no, no. They just flew
south for the winter.

That's what some birds do
when it gets cold.

But... why didn't they tell me?

Well, you see when it's time
for some birds to go,

they just go.

That's how you can tell
when winter is here.

-Really?
-Yeah,

they're probably on some
beach basking in the sun.

Wow, nice! Ha!
And I was worried about them!

Yeah, and in the springtime,

they'll be back
at the Otter Pond,

ready waiting for you
to come and play!

-Okay. Thanks, Bear.
-Sure!

[sipping]

Ah!

And thanks for the cocoa,
Bear. See ya!

Oh? Well, where you going now?

Back to the pond.
I've got to see

who else flew south
for the winter.

A little bear needs to know
who's around to play with!

See ya, Bear.

Okay, Ojo Bye-bye.

Well, I'm glad we got that
all straightened out.

[slurping]

TUTTER: A mouse tries to take
a little nap around here,

a little nap!

Bear? Bear?

Hi, Tutter. How are you?

Well, I was fine, Bear, just
fine, taking a nice little nap,

a nice little nap, until
all the noise started, Bear,

all the noise!

Umm, what noise?

[slurping]

[screaming]

That noise!

The sound of a big old
bear slurping cocoa!

Some mice are trying
to take a nap around here!

Oh, I'm sorry, Tutter.
I'll try to keep it down.

How's a mouse supposed to get
any rest in the winter Kitty?

How I ask you?

See you later, Tutter!
Have a nice nap.

Winter.
Yeah, isn't winter great?

and there's so many great
things about the winter

like for instance...

Icicles!

And snowmen!

And, snowballs!

Yea, isn't winter great?
And there's so much to do!

[dance music]

♪ The thermometer gets low ♪

♪ Pull your boots on
in the morning ♪

Yeah!

♪ And hear them
crunch-crunch crunching ♪

♪ Love to leave my tracks

♪ After lunch, you hit the hill
Zooming on ♪

♪ It's one of my all
time favorite thrills♪

♪ Racing on a sled
down a slippery hill ♪

♪ Back at home
it's nice and warm ♪

♪ Take those icy
winter boots off ♪

♪ And drink a big cup of cocoa
with your slippers on ♪

♪ Cuppa hot chocolate
and your feet are warm ♪

♪ Ah, cup of cocoa-marshmallow
floating around ♪

♪ Middle of the winter♪

[humming]

Yeah!

[slurping]

There! Now, as I was saying
one pillow no more, no less

and a nice cozy bed
not too hard, not too soft,

just right
for a nice winter's nap.

[snoring]

[snoring]

-TREELO: Uh-huh!
-[exclaims]

-Hi Bear! Hi!
-Hi, Treelo!

Bear! Bear! Come on,
come with Treelo, Bear!

Now? But I was just
about to take a nap.

Bear! Bear Treelo want
to show you something, Bear.

Come on, come on!

But Treelo, my pillow,
my pillow is so nice and cool.

Bear, come on! Please!

Okay, okay.

[laughs]

It's kinda hard to say no
to please.

-TREELO: Bear! Come on!
-Coming, coming!

Treelo, Treelo!
Now where'd he go to?

The door, Bear!
Come, come, come! See the door!

Come outside.

Treelo, why are you so excited?

Come to the door, Bear!
The door!

Hurry, hurry hurry!

Okay, Okay, I am
coming, I am coming.

-Okay what's behind the door?
-Come and see!

Ooh I see!

See the feathers. Look, Bear,
feathers fall from the sky!

Feathers?
Umm, Treelo, there not feathers.

No? But look they fall from
the sky. The feathers, Bear.

No, Treelo.
This is snow. It's snow!

Snow is another great
thing about winter.

In fact it's probably
the best thing.

Snow... [giggles]
It's not feathers! It's snow.

What's snow?

What's snow? Um,
well, good question.

Well, snow is kinda like rain,
only... it's crystallized.

Yeah. And another
good thing about snow is

that almost every
snowflake is different.

And, it's fun to play in!

Play? You play in the snow?

Treelo want to play
in the snow. Bye, Bear! Go play.

[laughs]

Bye-bye, Treelo!
Have fun in the snow.

Snow can be really fun
and so can naps.

[yawning]

TUTTER: Bear!

Oh-oh.

You call that a yawn?
More like an earthquake

if you ask me.

-Sorry.
-And, Bear?

Would you mind of, I mean
if it's not too much trouble.

If you wouldn't mind. Bear,

would you please close the door.
You know why?

-Why?
[screaming] -It's freezing!

-Sorry.
-Sorry, sorry, sorry!

A bear for a roommate.

Uncle Splutter tried
to warn me but no!

C'mon.

TUTTER: Thank you, Bear!

Okay. Yes, my nice cool fluffy
pillow, my toasty warm blanket,

a cozy bed and most important

my feet sticking
out at the bottom.

Don't ask me why.
It's a bear thing.

Now... off to nap land...

[sighs]

I seem to be having
trouble falling asleep.

Mmm...

Has that ever happen to you?
You've been so tired, and yet

you couldn't fall asleep.

I know, I'll count fish.
That always makes me tired.

Yeah, count with me.
I'll count trout.

One trout...

three trout... four trout...

five trout... It's not working.

What can I do to fall asleep?

A nice bed time story.

C'mon, let's go find Shadow.

Maybe if we sing

she'll appear! Ready?

I was just trying
to take a nap, and...

you to sleep! Just listen!

I must've drifted off.

I'll have any trouble
taking a nap now.

What did I tell ya, Bear?
That Rock-a-Bye Baby

If you don't mind, I think
I'm ready for that nap now.

Feet sticking out,
cozy blanket, cozy bed

and cool pillow and rest.

What do you think he's doing?

-I think he's sleeping.
-Sleeping? Why?

I dunno.
Maybe he's tired or something.

Well, c'mon, let's wake him up!

Bear? Bear? Bear?

No mommy just ten more minutes
and then I'll eat my porridge...

Bear?

[screaming]

Pip, Pop what is going on?

-What's going on with you, Bear?
-Yeah. You look a little tired.

-Yeah!
-Well,

I was trying to take a nap!

Well, wake up, Bear!

Yeah. We've got
something to show you!

Yep!

-But what is it this time?
-We couldn't tell you, Bear.

No, it's a surprise.

Yeah! A surprise
that's really surprising!

[laughing]

But, but...
My blanket and my pillow

and it's all so nice and soft.

I think you really wanna see
this one, Bear.

I agree, Bear.
You can't miss this.

But, guys... I mean...

It's my nap and I just
want to cozy up...

Bear, please?

Okay, okay. I'll come.

Yay for Bear!

[laughs]

Okay, Bear! Now you gotta
close your eyes!

Really? What for?

It's a surprise, Bear, remember?

Okay, alright. Lead on...

-But watch out for that...
-What was that?

Tutter, I'm sorry but the otters
had a surprise for me,

and my eyes were closed, and...
the pot fell off the counter.

-Bear, Bear!
-I am sorry! What?

Don't worry about it.
Don't worry.

I can see today is not the day
to take a nap around here.

You're telling me.

And, if there's gonna be
this much noise, I figure,

I don't wanna miss it.

Don't want to miss the fun!

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

This mouse wants
to make some noise!

[laughs]

All right, Tutter!

So, where are we headed? Where?

To the Otter Pond!
Close your eyes, Bear.

[laughing]

I love surprises.

Guys, are we almost there?

Almost, a little more
to the right, a little more.

And...

We're here!
Open your eyes, Bear!

Surprise!

My... It's beautiful!

It's you, Bear!

Yeah. A snow bear!

-It's me? Really?
-Yeah, it's just for you, Bear!

-For being such a good friend!
-And playing with us!

Good friend, Bear.

[laughs]

I've got to admit!
A good friend like Bear, I say,

a good friend like Bear

really is something
worth shouting about!

[laughs]

[all cheering]

Wow... I don't know what to say!

-Then don't say anything, Bear.
-Just fix us some cocoa!

Yeah! We love cocoa!

Yeah, Bear. Some cocoa
would be pretty good right now,

I gotta say.
I just gotta say it.

Well, c'mon everybody
let's go back into

the Big Blue House
for some cocoa!

Yeah!

when your friends do

I never did get that nap,
but, I don't mind

Let's go find Luna. C'mon.

Uh! There she is! Hello, Luna!

Hello, Bear! How was your day

in the Big Blue House
on this wintery day?

It was nice and cozy

and we had plenty
of hot cocoa to warm us up!

A nice cup of cocoa
is a wonderful thing

on a wintery night.

But, as I recall, you usually
take a long winter nap.

[laughs]

Well, I tried Luna, I tried,

but I was having too much
fun with my friends.

[laughs]

Really? Tell me what happened?

Well, Ojo discovered
that her friends the ducks,

fly south and Treelo
saw his first snow.

Snow. I just love the way
the snow covers the earth

and makes my light
look so beautiful.

And what about our friend,
Tutter? What did he do today?

Well, he tried
to take a nap, too,

but he ended up
joining us in all the fun.

But Bear,
if I can see clearly from here

there's something
new at the Otter Pond.

Wow! You really can see
everything from up there.

Yes, your friends made you
a wonderful snow bear

out of snow and it shines
so beautifully from up here.

Yeah, and even when spring
comes I'll always remember it.

A snow bear made out of snow.
Isn't that wonderful?

Yes it is. Well, Bear,

I guess I better be
getting up in the sky

to cast my glow across
the wintery earth.

Okay, Luna.

But would you
join me in the goodbye song?

I'd be delighted, Bear.
