NARRATOR: Mt. Coronet, the tallest mountain in the Sinnoh

region, majestically looking out over the landscape below.as our

heroes discover a most unusual Pokémon.

SHIELDON A: [CAUTIOUS]

ASH: Who's that Pokémon?

POKEDEX: Shieldon. The Shield Pokémon. The skin on its face is

very hard, and it has a habit of polishing it by

rubbing it against trees.

BROCK: Dawn, do you realize what a rare Pokémon that is?

DAWN: Well, it sure is cute! Just look at those eyes!

PIKACHU: [SHOCKED]

ASH: [SHOCKED] It's them!

PIKACHU: [SCARED]

- ASH: That's Hunter J! - DAWN: And all her g*ons!

BROCK: You know they just want to steal this

Shieldon and then sell it!

ASH: That's not gonna happen! Pikachu! Thunderbolt, now!

SUBORDINATE : Golbat, Wing att*ck!

PIKACHU: [THUNDERBOLT MOVE]

GOLBAT: [WING att*ck MOVE]

PIKACHU: [IMPACT]

ASH: Pikachu! You okay?

PIKACHU: [FRUSTRATED]

SUBORDINATE : I've just about had it with you kids!

SHIELDON A: [EXCITED]

SHIELDON A: [EXCITED]

ASH: Gary! What are you doing here?

ELECTIVIRE: [AFFIRMATIVE]

- ASH: Hey, wait up! - BROCK: Dawn, let's go, too!

DAWN: Uh, right! Who is this Gary person?

BROCK: Gary's from Pallet Town, just like Ash, and the two of

them have been rivals since they were small!

SUBORDINATE : Scouting party : Target has been located at the

foot of Mt. Coronet.

J: As I figured it would. What happened?

SUBORDINATE : We were att*cked by an unknown Trainer with an

Electivire and were unable to capture Shieldon.

J: Unable to capture?!

SUBORDINATE: Don't worry! We can, and will, succeed!

J: Well, for your sake, I hope so!

SUBORDINATE : Sir!

ASH: So, Gary.you're out here doing Pokémon research, huh?

GARY: That's right. A lot's happened since I saw you!

Oh yeah! It's nice to meet you, Dawn!

DAWN: But how did you know my name?

GARY: Oh, I've heard tons of things about

- you from my granddad! - DAWN: Granddad?

BROCK: You see, Gary is Gary Oak, Professor Oak's grandson!

DAWN: That must mean you write Pokémon poetry, too!

Let's hear a poem, please?

SHIELDON GROUP: [EXCITED]

ASH: Oh, wow, there's a whole bunch of them!

GARY: It's the only place in the region where Shieldon live!

BROCK: You've been doing your research for sure.

GARY: Of course! This is an awesome place!

Mt. Coronet's unspoiled and pure.

GARY: So the Shieldon feel super comfortable.

GARY: I'm part of a project that's working to make this

protect the Shieldon!

PROFESSOR ROWAN: Yes, Gary? What is it?

ASH: It's Professor Rowan! Cool!

PROFESSOR ROWAN: What? Pokémon hunters there?

GARY: And it's not safe at all!

I'm taking these Shieldon and leaving.

PROFESSOR ROWAN: All right, then. We're already on our way

and should get to you shortly, so I suggest we

- meet at this location. - GARY: Got it!

PROFESSOR ROWAN: In the meantime, be careful!

GARY: Right!

GARY: We're gonna have to move soon!

SHIELDON GROUP: [AFFIRMATIVE]

ASH: You'll let us help, won't you?

GARY: Thanks, Ash. It's a deal!

JAMES: Shieldon! Now there's a shock!

JAMES: Just think! Bringing that bunch to the Boss

would benefit us handsomely!

JESSIE: Not like all of J's Pokémon!

MEOWTH: Every Pokémon in Hunter J's collection is triple-A rare!

And that sort of catch would bring us buckets of big bucks!

JAMES: Those are my brand of B-words!

MEOWTH: It's payback time!

Time to be the kind of pain in the neck that she was to

me! Not just my neck, either.

JESSIE: We're tougher, we're meaner, and I'm more beautiful

than she could ever be, so let's prove it!

JESSIE: [SURPRISED]

DAWN: It's them again!

ASH: Get away, Shieldon!

GARY: Electivire! Take care of the Shieldon!

GARY: Quick, Blastoise, Water g*n!

BLASTOISE: [WATER g*n MOVE]

GARY: They want Pikachu, too!

GARY: So we've got to watch our step!

ASH: Okay, Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!

PIKACHU: [THUNDERBOLT MOVE]

SUBORDINATE: Those annoying brats!

Enough of you! Golbat, go!

BLASTOISE: [IMPACT]

ASH: Hey, if they want Shieldon, they'll have to b*at all of us!

GARY: We need to cool it, or the Shieldon will get hurt!

ASH: But if we don't do something,

they'll be in big trouble!

GARY: Umbreon, use Sand att*ck!

UMBREON: [SAND att*ck MOVE]

GOLBAT: [IMPACT]

GARY: Now, Umbreon, go!

SUBORDINATE : All right, Golbat, Air Cutter, now!

BEEDRILL GROUP: [THREATENING]

- DAWN: Beedrill! - BROCK: Lots of them!

- GARY: Move it! - ASH: Uh, right!

JAMES: Nothing's more horrid than a hostile

hive full of Beedrill!

MEOWTH: Good thing for us they got a taste for ugly!

JESSIE: Let's get this stealing show on the road.

BROCK: You knew there was a Beedrill nest there, didn't you?

GARY: I've been researching every inch of this area to find

out which Pokémon live here!

DAWN: Oh, he's Professor Oak's grandson, all right!

GARY: Instead of battling our way out, it's more important

that we protect all of those Shieldon!

GARY: No time for risky att*cks!

CLIENT: Good, good! I'm happy to see you're doing well,

Pokémon Hunter J.

About a certain Shieldon I've commissioned you to get for me.

J: Don't worry. You'll have your first Shieldon by the end of the

day today, just as we agreed.

CLIENT: Well now, that's excellent news, Hunter J.

The idea that I'll be the proud owner of such a rare

Pokémon pleases me greatly.

CLIENT: So, would it be at all possible for me to come and pick

it up directly from you?

J: Do as you like.

CLIENT: Then I'll be on my way there immediately! Thank you.

J: He sure gets around.

SUBORDINATE : Scouting report ready, sir!

Target is currently proceeding along

MEOWTH: That Poké-thief won't know what hit her!

DAWN: They're everywhere!

BROCK: It looks like all possible escape

routes are blocked off.

ASH: Yeah, well, I'll block all of them off!

GARY: Stop! Calm down, and let's make a plan! Hey!

GARY: It's that kind of recklessness that put those

Shieldon in danger in the first place!

- ASH: What did you say? - BROCK: Cool it, Ash!

DAWN: I'm afraid Gary's right.

GARY: If we keep this up, those creeps will spot us for sure!

And with the Shieldon around, we can't make a move.

DAWN: But Gary, what do we do?

GARY: Well, we'll have to change our route and

go around them all.

GARY: There's a river to the north, and a deep

valley farther to the south.

GARY: It's gonna be really hard bringing all those

- Shieldon with us. - ASH: Yeah, but we have to go.

We can't stay here. Nothing's gonna change.

GARY: Not true. Things'll change all right.change for the worse.

We've got to find a way to get to Professor Rowan.

GARY: But how?

BROCK: Dawn, don't look down, and you'll be fine!

DAWN: Shieldon, you be careful!

SHIELDON GROUP: [SCARED]

ASH: Shieldon, hang on!

SHIELDON GROUP: [STRUGGLING]

- DAWN: Help me, Ash! - BROCK: Gary!

GARY: Ash, pull hard!

SHIELDON GROUP: [STRUGGLING]

DAWN: You're safe now!

- GARY: Okay, guys! Move it! - BROCK: All right.

DAWN: Gary, be careful!

of your bad stuff!

ASH: Quick, Pikachu, Thunderbolt, let's go!

J: Our mission's complete! Take it away.

BROCK: [WEARY]

PROFESSOR ROWAN: Oh my. A Shieldon stolen by Hunter J!

OFFICER JENNY: We've got to go after J, now.

And find Ash and Gary as well.

ASH: Man, I really blew it bad! Everything I did was wrong.

And you were right.

GARY: No, Ash, I was the one who was wrong.

GARY: I misjudged the Shieldon's strength, and because of my

goof-up, we're really paying for it!

ASH: Gary. Hey, what good will worrying do?

PIKACHU: [AGREEMENT]

GARY: You're right.

SUBORDINATE : Sir, the client will be here soon!

J: Bring Shieldon out! We'll wait here.

SUBORDINATE: Yes, sir.

ASH: Staravia! Go find Dawn and all the others!

STARAVIA: [AFFIRMATIVE]

GARY: All right, first we'll distract them! Then we'll look

for an opening and go grab Shieldon, okay?

ASH: Hey! You're being kinda reckless, Gary, aren't you?

GARY: I guess you can learn something!

J: They're here! What is happening?

SUBORDINATE : Sir! Sabotage, I think! By an intruder!

J: An intruder?

ASH: Pikachu! Give it everything you've got!

GARY: Umbreon! Electivire, too!

Try as we might, she manages to maintain her one-upsmanship!

JESSIE: When it comes down to bushels of unbridled beauty,

try using those eyes connected to that pea brain of yours and

see who rules: I do!

MEOWTH: Man, things are getting weird. You know what I think?

JESSIE: In case you're watching, Pokémon Hunter Jerk,

I hope you've enjoyed being trumped by Team Rocket! Bye!

SUBORDINATE : All engines appear to be undamaged, as well

as full flying capability!

SHIELDON A: [RELIEVED]

SHIELDON A: [GRATEFUL]

- ASH: Yeah! - GARY: You got Shieldon!

J: Oh, you think so? Well, not for long.

ASH: [DEFIANT] J: Now! Our deal is off.

J: What?

CLIENT: Officer Jenny is on her way here this very minute!

And I have no intention of being arrested!

J: What about Shieldon?

CLIENT: I couldn't care less about Shieldon!

Just take me home, pronto!

J: Contract breaker!

J: We have no more business here. Withdraw at once.

GARY: Ash, chill out! We've got Shieldon back, right?

That's all that matters now.

J: Stay out of my way or else!

J: Establish radio contact with the client, and tell him we

won't be doing business with him again.

SUBORDINATE : Sir!

J: There are others who will pay my price.

And plenty of targets to pay for.

OFFICER JENNY: I'm launching a full investigation into Hunter

J's dealings right away!

BROCK: Officer Jenny, that's great.

DAWN: I sure hope you arrest her soon.

PIKACHU: [AGREEMENT]

PROFESSOR ROWAN: Yes! But in any case, I'm just glad

everyone's all right.

- GARY: Yeah, thanks to Ash! - PROFESSOR ROWAN: Oh?

GARY: It was Ash's bravery and quick action that did it,

and now the Shieldon are safe! Thanks, Ash!

ASH: Sure, Gary!

GARY: Bye, Ash. Best of friends till the end!

ASH: Yeah!

ASH: Dawn, what's wrong?

DAWN: It's what Gary said before he left."Best of friends until

the end." Wow! Don't you see? That's poetry!

And he made it up on the spot.
