the Rowan Research Facility on Mt. Coronet!

Or, for all intents and purposes, your school!

NARRATOR: We're witnessing a mid-journey surprise

for our heroes, for after being contacted by Professor Rowan,

it's time for Pokémon Summer Academy!

On a road, far from home,

gather round to find out which class team you're on!

ASH: I'm on the Red team!

CONWAY: Looks like I'm on the Blue Team!

DAWN, BROCK, PIKACHU, PIPLUP: [SHOCKED] ASH: You're here, too?

DAWN: Conway!

CONWAY: Somehow I just knew you'd all be coming!

JESSILINDA: Don't forget me!

JESSILINDA: The name's Jessilinda

and I'm on the Green Team! I'm also the school's resident.

JESSILINDA: Cutie Pie!

JAMES: Subtlety is a lost art with her.

MEOWTH: Yeah.

Sticking out like a sore thumb ain't exactly helpful

when you're trying to swipe the school's Pokémon.

ASSISTANT C: Would you maintenance engineers

mind helping me?

JAMES, MEOWTH: Ready to maintain!

ROWAN: Just as there are various kinds of Pokémon

in various parts of our world,

ROWAN: budding young trainers are no different!

Today, you young people of differing ages and birthplaces

have gathered together for a week of fun and excitement!

ROWAN: Destiny has brought you all together,

as you meet and work with your fellow students

and their Pokémon in your classes.

ROWAN: So, get to know one another this next week

and while you're at it, have some fun!

YUZO: I think this would be the perfect time

for the Pokémon to introduce themselves!

And the best way is.

ROWAN: A Pokémon battle!

ASH: Yeah!

YUZO: Hold on a minute!

YUZO: Each and every one will use these Poké Balls!

One Poké Ball per student.

MEOWTH: Come on, that's the box

of Poké Balls we were just poaching!

JAMES: Drat! If we had just been quicker on the thieving draw,

we'd be all done doing what we should've done!

BROCK: I see!

So, the Pokémon we all wind up getting matched with is.

DAWN: ...from the luck of the draw!

ASH: Okay. Let's see.

ANGIE: Let go! I got it first!

ASH: I got it first!

-ANGIE: It's MINE! -ASH: It's MINE!

ANGIE: There's nothing ruder than

a guy who ignores ladies first!

ASH: Wait! You mean to tell me you're a girl?

ANGIE: Now you really getting me mad!

The name's Angie and I challenge you to a Battle!

ASH: Hey, you've got yourself a deal!

ASH: Oh yeah, by the way, my name's Ash!

ROWAN: Good! That's the spirit!

But, tomorrow's when the real Battles start!

The order of business today is to meet the Pokémon you chose!

ANGIE: All right, then come on out!

MONFERNO: [APPEARING]

ASH: Cool! It's a Monferno!

POKEDEX: Monferno. The Playful Pokémon,

and the evolved form of Chimchar.

Monferno launches aerial att*cks off of ceilings and walls,

and its fiery tail is used as one of its weapons.

ANGIE: Angie's the name. Nice to meet you!

MONFERNO: [IGNORING] PIKACHU: [SNICKERING]

ASH: Looks like you rub Pokémon the wrong way too!

ANGIE: Be quiet!

ASH: 'Kay, my turn. Come on now.

RAICHU: [APPEARING]

ASH: Hey a Raichu, great!

ASH: Hi my name's Ash! I'm glad to meet ya!

PIKACHU: [GREETING]

RAICHU: [STARTLED]

ASH, PIKACHU: [SHOCKED] RAICHU: [AFRAID]

ANGIE: Ash, I think Raichu's scared of you!

ASH: Cool it! We're gonna be friends real soon!

DAWN: Okay, my turn!

DAWN: 'Kay. Come on now.

GRIMER: [APPEARING]

PIPLUP: [FRIENDLY]

DAWN: You're pretty cute, you know!

BROCK: I'm next!

CONWAY: Hi there, Venonat!

BLUE TEAM GIRL: Nice to meet you!

ASH: Come out, please? Raichu what's wrong with you?

MONFERNO: [RUNNING] ANGIE: Come back!

MONFERNO: [GRUMPY]

CROCONAW: [AGGRESSIVE]

RED TEAM BOY: Croconaw! Chill out!

PIKACHU: [ASSERTIVE]

MONFERNO: [ATTACKING]

PIKACHU: [PAINED]

ANGIE: Hey! Don't treat Monferno like that!

ANGIE: 'Kay that's it! I'll bring out my Pokémon!

SHINX: [APPEARING]

ANGIE: Use Spark on Pikachu!

SHINX: [SPARK MOVE]

ASH: We'll show 'em Pikachu! Thunderball. Let's go.

PIKACHU: [THUNDERBOLT MOVE]

SHINX: [SPARK MOVE]

ROWAN: Enough!

ROWAN: I never told you

you could use your own Pokémon in battle!

ASH: But Angie started the whole thing!

ANGIE: No, Ash and Pikachu did!

ROWAN: STOP!

ROWAN: This school is not the place for quarreling!

ROWAN: It's for making new friends with people and Pokémon!

ASH, ANGIE: Yes, sir.

ROWAN: So that's the end of our first hour!

In tomorrow's battle I will judge how well

you've befriended your Pokémon and award points accordingly!

ASH: Uh, points?

ANGIE: Oh, you don't know about that?

At the end of each section,

points are awarded by Professor Rowan.

CONWAY: Right, and on the final day the total number of points

for each class team is added up to decide who's the big winner!

ASH: Great!

Then of course that means the Red Team's gonna win it all!

ANGIE: Sure! Just as long as you don't hold us back!

-ASH: Says who? -ANGIE: Says me!

YUZO: Now, as we move on to our second hour,

I want you all to work on getting closer

with your new Pokémon, understand?

ASH, ANGIE, DAWN, BROCK, STUDENTS X: Right!

DAWN: Grimer, I made some delicious Poffins for you,

so why don't you try one?

GRIMER: [EXCITED]

GRIMER: [SAVORING]

ANGIE: Wow, you've got Poffins that are homemade!

BROCK: Okay Magnemite,

how about a little static electricity snack?

Raichu, let's just see what moves you can use.

POKEDEX: Focus Punch, Dig, Thunderbolt and Double Team.

ASH: Raichu, you can use Double Team too?

I can't wait for our battle to start!

PIKACHU: [ENTHUSIASTIC]

POKEDEX: Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon.

It was born when sludge in a dirty stream

was exposed to X-rays from the moon.

DAWN: Let's see what moves you've got.

POKEDEX: Poison Gas, Mud Slap, Sludge, and Gunk sh*t.

DAWN: Yes! No need to worry!

to find time for a journey.

BROCK: And I'm going to be a top Pokémon Breeder!

Your Thunderbolt's gotta to be stronger than that! C'mon!

ANGIE: And how'd all your Training with Raichu work out?

ASH: But all our hard work'll pay off

in today's battle, you'll see!

ANGIE: If you're gonna b*at someone it won't be us!

who don't get along that well at first,

but who end up as formidable rivals!

ROWAN: And that's what I love so much about this school.

ROWAN: All right, our Pokémon Battles are about to begin!

I want you to keep in mind your goal is to

battle in such a way as to bring out the best in your Pokémon!

He's totally in sync with that Venonat!

CONWAY: Using the same att*ck? Then we'll use Psychic!

DAWN: Now use Poison Gas to surround that Sludge!

ANGIE: Wow, Dawn was just great!

ANGIE: I knew you could do it!

ROWAN: You've all done very well working

and battling with your new Pokémon,

and so from this moment on I would like all of you

to make it a point of meeting

and making friends with the rest of the Pokémon in attendance!

ROWAN: And now,

it's time to announce the student who most developed

his or her relationship with their Pokémon.

ROWAN: From the Red Team, it's Dawn!

DAWN: Me?

ASH: Great, Dawn!

ANGIE: You showed them!

ROWAN: And after tallying up the total points

for the past two days

the team with the highest cumulative score is.

ROWAN: The Blue Team!

ROWAN: Second is the Green Team!

JESSILINDA: It was the least they could do

to pay tribute to my cutie-pie Smoochum-kins!

ROWAN: And coming in dead last is the Red Team.

ANGIE: Wow what a RIP!

Dawn had the most points of anyone!!

ROWAN: True, but although the Red Team battled valiantly,

they lost points because of yesterday's troublesome

quarreling coupled with that unexpected daytime nap.

ASH: Oops. Oh yeah, sorry.

ANGIE: Yeah, me too.

ASH: But! I promise I'm gonna make it up!

ANGIE: Yeah! The battle's just begun!

JAMES: CHOW TIME!

MEOWTH: Time to strap on the old feed bag!

ROWAN: Well I'm sure after today

everyone's worked up quite the appetite.

NARRATOR: And so, our Heroes' adventures

at the Pokémon Summer Academy

have just begun!
