and everyone's raring to go!

With all the fun they've been having

and all the amazing things they've been learning,

you can be sure our heroes along with friends

old and new can't help but wonder

ROWAN: This is Principal Rowan!

ROWAN: Today's activities will deal with

the proper way to interact with Ghost-type Pokémon!

ROWAN: The goal of this program

ROWAN: is to ensure that you will be able to correctly

approach Ghost Pokémon, whenever or wherever you encounter them!

ROWAN: Of course, your instructors

will fill you in on all the details.

YUZO: And now let's go over our rules!

After each of you teams up with a fellow classmate,

you will both go together

and retrieve this medal located in the Summit Ruins!

YUZO: Your final score will be based on how long it takes you.

The event begins tonight at seven sharp,

so for now your job is to find a partner!

BROCK: It sounds to me like a test of courage.

DAWN: Yeah, I get it!

ASH: Okay Pikachu, you ready for this?

PIKACHU: [EXCITED]

ASH: Now, let's see who we're going to pair with.

PIKACHU, SHINX: [FRIENDLY]

ANGIE: Hey Ash.

ASH: Hm?

ANGIE: You know, since Pikachu and Shinx get along so well,

what do you say we be partners?

ASH: Yeah, good idea Angie!

ANGIE: We'll mop the floor with every last one of those guys!

ASH: Right!

BROCK: Okay, who will it be?

MITCHELL: Uh, Brock?

BROCK: What's up, Mitchell?

MITCHELL: Well See the thing is, I'm kind of scared of the dark.

I was wondering if you'd be my partner!

BROCK: Sure! I'd love to!

MITCHELL: That's great Brock! Thanks so much!

DAWN: You two guys have partners already?

ASH: Afraid so!

BROCK: It just happened that way!

DAWN: So let's see. Who does that leave for me to pick?

ASH, BROCK, PIKACHU: [SURPRISED]

DAWN: Weird! That feeling...

A feeling like something really gross

is standing right behind me!

KENDALL: Hey there, Dawn!

DAWN: Hi Kendall.

KENDALL: Any idea what these biceps are for?

KENDALL: They're for protecting you

from any of those scary Ghost Pokémon!

DAWN: Oh.

KENDALL: And let's not forget these powerful pecs.

KENDALL: When you're scared out of your wits and wanna run away,

they'll be there to stop you!

KENDALL: C'mon! Isn't this an offer you can't refuse?

DAWN: What choice do I have?

Everyone else is already teamed up.

DAWN: It's a deal! You and all those muscles.

CONWAY: Hmmm.

CONWAY: I really should choose my partner.

CONWAY: Me?

CONWAY: So, you're on the Blue Team too,

and you don't have a partner?

GIRL: Hi! Let's play together.

CONWAY: Okay.

BOY STUDENTS X: Ms. Jessalinda!

BOY STUDENTS X: We'll protect you!

JESSIE: One teensy problem!

A partnership means two to tango instead of five.

A team that big would get me thrown out on my adorable ear!

JESSIE: And so, as sole representative

of this large lot, you're up!

JESSIE: Protect me!

No goofy Ghost Pokémon will keep me from smoking the competition!

Look I don't even know much less look like a Ghostie Pokémon!

JESSIE: Now calm those whiskers!

and you'll make a lovely Ghost Pokémon!

MEOWTH: Yeah? In whose dreams?

YUZO: All right, the Red Team

-will be departing through this red gate.

But the Blue and Green Teams will be leaving

from a different location!

YUZO: However, rest assured

they're all the same distance from the Ruins!

YUZO: So let's get rolling!

JAMES: All right, first team. Please, get on your marks!

ASH, ANGIE: Right!

PIKACHU: [EXCITED] SHINX: [EXCITED]

ASH: That number one spot is ours!

ANGIE: You bet, Ash!

ASH: Yeah!

YUZO: Begin!

SHINX, PIKACHU: [ENTHUSIASTIC]

-ASH: Let's move! -ANGIE: Yeah!!

ASH: There's something creepy about this place.

ANGIE: Just let me know if you get scared.

I'll make sure you're safe, Ash.

ASH: Same goes for you, okay? Don't go running off on me!

HAUNTER: [GHOSTLY WHISPER]

SHINX: [FRIGHTENED]

PIKACHU: [SURPRISED] PIKACHU: [ATTACKING]

HAUNTER: [PAINED]

ASH: Hey, Pikachu, what's wrong?

PIKACHU: [EXPLAINING]

ASH: Hey, it's just some Ghost Pokémon.

ASH: I'm really sorry my Pikachu suddenly att*cked you like that!

ASH: Pikachu, next time why don't you count to ten?

PIKACHU: [EMBARRASSED]

ANGIE: Ash, don't forget.

Pikachu was only trying to protect Shinx for us!

ASH: I guess so, Angie.

ANGIE: Let's move out!

ASH: Right!

GASTLY, HAUNTER, GENGAR: [SHEEPISH]

JAMES: All right! The next duo may proceed!

BROCK: That's us! Time to move out!

MITCHELL: You'll keep an eye out for me, won't you Brock?

BROCK: Of course I will!

YUZO: Get set Go!

DAWN: We'll be on our way before you know it!

PIPLUP: [READY] PIPLUP: [CURIOUS]

DAWN: Hey, what's wrong?

ASSISTANT C: You're off!

ASSISTANT C: Be careful now!

STUDENTS: We will!

ASSISTANT C: Well I guess that's everybody!

GIRL STUDENT A: I'm so sorry!

ASSISTANT C: But all ten of the Blue Team students

are on their way to the ruins already!

GIRL STUDENT A: But you can see I'm not!

ASSISTANT C: Huh! So that means.

ASSISTANT C: There are eleven students!

GASTLY, HAUNTER, GENGAR: [YELLING]

MITCHELL: SAVE ME! BROCK!

BROCK: Relax, I've got just the thing for them!

MITCHELL: Wow, you're a genius, Brock!

BROCK: Okay. Shall we move out?

MITCHELL: Right behind you!

KENDALL: Don't forget!

KENDALL: Anything weird comes up,

and this pumped up guy turns into

a powerful protection machine.

DAWN: Great. Thanks.

KENDALL: You know, it sure gets dark out here.

DAWN: Anything could happen! Isn't it exciting?

GASTLY, HAUNTER, GENGAR: [MUNCHING CREEPILY]

DAWN: Listen! What's that noise?

KENDALL: Sounds like monsters eating something. But what?

KENDALL: It's not gonna be meee!

KENDALL: These pumped-up leg muscles are for running!

DAWN: It's just a group of Ghost Pokémon,

and they're eating Pokémon food that's all!

DAWN: He can talk the talk but he sure can't walk the walk.

PIPLUP: [AGREEING]

DAWN: Well, I guess it's just you and me. Huh?

DAWN: That looks like...

DAWN: Conway!

DAWN: Alone? No partner? Wonder what that's all about.

GIRL: This way. Right over here!

CONWAY: Okay. Over here.

GIRL: Come on. Come on!

DUSKNOIR: [EXERTION]

CONWAY: You scared me!

DUSKNOIR: [CONCERNED]

DUSKNOIR: [CONFUSED]

DUSKNOIR: [ANGRY]

DUSKNOIR: [GRUMBLING]

DUSKNOIR: [CURIOUS]

DAWN: CONWAY! DUSKNOIR: [CONFUSED]

DAWN: All right, what did you do to Conway?

PIPLUP: [FURIOUS]

DUSKNOIR: [DEFENSIVE]

PIPLUP: [SURPRISED]

PIPLUP: [CURIOUS]

PIPLUP: [RUNNING]

DAWN: Conway! Wake up, please!

PIPLUP: [PANICKED]

CONWAY: What was that? Do you know?

DAWN: Wait. Let's see.

POKEDEX: Dusknoir, The Gripper Pokémon.

It receives electrical waves from the spirit world

with its antenna. And is said

to take people to the spirit world as well.

CONWAY: A few more steps,

and I'm afraid I would've ended up in the spirit world too!

DAWN: Yeah, that was a close one!

CONWAY: Where'd she go? The girl I partnered with.

DAWN: But Conway, you were alone!

CONWAY: That can't be!

CONWAY: I was just following her!

DAWN: You don't think Dusknoir took her

to the spirit world do you?

CONWAY: Aah! Then we'd have a big problem!

PIPLUP: [SCARED]

MEOWTH: Oy vey!

MEOWTH: Man, this Ghost Pokémon gig can bore the sheets off you.

MEOWTH: Flashlights!

MEOWTH: Belonging to none other than the Twerp team!

MEOWTH: Now! Here's where this scaring gig gets good!

MEOWTH: People have been telling me to zip my lips

all my Pokémon-ic, life but now I really did it!

ASH: Nah.

ASH: I think it's your imagination.

ANGIE: I guess you're probably right!

ASH: Well I sure hope I'm right!

JESSIE: Somebody save me!

STUDENT A: I can't keep up!

MITCHELL: Brock, what is she talking about?

BROCK: It... I wonder what it is?

DUSKNOIR: [GROANING]

DUSKNOIR: [WORRIED]

MITCHELL: Brock, I'm scared!

BROCK: I still have some Ghost Pokémon food. Don't worry!

BROCK: Hey look!

DUSKNOIR: [WORRIED]

BROCK: In that case I think we'd better go!

DUSKNOIR: [LOOKING]

DUSKNOIR: [WORRIED]

ASH: We're almost to the Summit Ruins!

MISDREAVUS: [GHOSTLY WHISPERING]

ASH: Angie, did you hear that?

ANGIE: Yeah!

MISDREAVUS: [GHOSTLY WHISPERING]

ASH: Sounds like it's coming from in the rock!

ANGIE: But how?

MISDREAVUS: [PLAYFUL SURPRISING] PIKACHU, SHINX: [STARTLED]

ASH: It's a Misdreavus! MISDREAVUS: [SHRIEKING]

ANGIE, SHINX, PIKACHU: [SCREAMING]

ASH: That's k*lling my ears!

PIKACHU, SHINX: [PANTING]

ANGIE: Man, you sure wimped out!

ASH: Excuse me but you ran away first!

ANGIE: No way!

ASH: Forget all this. We've got to find the ruins!

ANGIE: Did we just get ourselves good and lost?

GIRL: Over here. This way.

ASH: Whoa, it's that way?

ANGIE: Hey, thank you!

ASH: C'mon Angie, let's follow her there!

ANGIE: Right!

ROWAN: That's rather strange.

ROWAN: We monitor every Pokémon in this area.

But for some reason we don't seem to have any record

of a Dusknoir dwelling here.

ROWAN: No sense for a forest-dwelling Dusknoir

to be in a place like this in the first place!

DAWN: What do you think that Dusknoir's doing here?

ROWAN: However... BROCK, DAWN, PIPLUP: [CURIOUS]

ROWAN: An accident did take place the other day...

ROWAN: ...when we were doing some renovations!

RENOVATION WORKERS: Whoa!

ROWAN: We discovered a cave deep within a stone wall.

ROWAN: And there are some who think

it might be the legendary entrance to the spirit world.

DAWN, BROCK: Entrance to the spirit world?

ROWAN: Right. The Pokédex states that

Dusknoir will take people to the spirit world.

ROWAN: And if in fact

that's where the Dusknoir in question comes from

ROWAN: it's possible that Dusknoir's

attempting to take someone back with it.

BROCK, DAWN, MITCHELL, PIPLUP: [NERVOUS]

CONWAY: I have reason to believe

there's a possibility it may have already abducted a girl!

ASH: We finally made it!

ANGIE: Not a moment too soon.

PIKACHU: [RELIEVED] SHINX: [RELIEVED]

ASH: Whoa, the medal!

ANGIE: Great! We're the first ones!

ASH, SHINX, PIKACHU: [HAPPY]

ASH: Yeah, we found the Summit Ruins medal first.

ANGIE: Wow! Hey, that's a cool pose!

pull them into the spirit world!

DUSKNOIR: [STRUGGLING]

DUSKNOIR: [GRABBING]

ASH: Dusk- noir? DUSKNOIR: [EXERTION]

PIKACHU, SHINX: [CONFUSED]

ASH: What are you doing?

ANGIE: Whoa. Dusknoir you're trying to save us!

DUSKNOIR: [AGREEING]

ROWAN: Well! It seems Dusknoir is protecting them!

DAWN: I don't get it!

DUSKNOIR: [STRUGGLING]

ANGIE: We're gonna be sucked in!

DUSKNOIR: [ATTACKING]

ASH: Just a little bit longer

and we would've ended up trapped in that cave.

ANGIE: Dusknoir.

You were looking out for us all along, weren't you?

DUSKNOIR: [AFFIRMING]

ANGIE: That's great, thank you!

ASH: Yeah! You're awesome after all!

ANGIE: Dusknoir, come back!

DUSKNOIR: [CALMLY]

ANGIE: That's the entrance to the spirit world?

ROWAN: We honestly don't know that for certain,

but it is obvious Dusknoir had a vested interest in guarding it.

ROWAN: The fact is,

scientists still have a very long way to go

before we truly understand our world.

CONWAY: Does that mean the girl

I was partnered with wasn't in the Academy?

ASSISTANT C: To tell the truth

I seriously doubt that girl was part of this world!

DAWN: I guess that means you were partnered with a ghost!

CONWAY: I was partnered with a ghost.

CONWAY: I was partnered with a ghost?

ROWAN: We had quite a busy night,

but you all performed admirably.

ROWAN: So I've decided to give each team thirty points!

JESSIE: Now what kind of communal drivel is that?

BROCK: So that means we still stay in second place!

CONWAY: Well for the Blue Team,

it's definitely lonely at the top.

ASH: Listen up! Okay Red Team,

let's get on the stick and turn this thing around!

PIKACHU: [EXCITED]

NARRATOR: And so,

as the end of the Pokémon Summer Academy draws near...
