NARRATOR: As our Heroes cross one of the bridges

that connect the islands of Canalave City,

one Hero in particular is

happily anticipating his arrival at the Canalave Gym!

ASH: We made it! Check out the Canalave Gym.

DAWN: Your battle's coming up soon!

BROCK: And a sh*t at your sixth badge!

ASH: Don't sweat it. It's already mine!

PIKACHU: [AGREEING]

ASH: Hello?

ASH: Uh oh...

DAWN: You think, maybe no one's here?

PUPIL: [MYSTERIOUS SCREAM]

ASH: What was that?

PIKACHU: [STARTLED]

On a road, far from home,

but I was having a horrible nightmare!

ASH: A nightmare?

PUPIL: Yeah, I've been having nightmares every night

since I first arrived here

and I honestly haven't gotten a good night's sleep in ages!

BROCK, ASH, DAWN, PIKACHU, PIPLUP: [WORRIED]

ASH: My name's Ash!

I'm from Pallet Town and I'd like to have a Gym Battle!

PUPIL: Not possible!

You see, right now the Gym Leader's

doing some training on Iron Island...

DAWN: Hey, I think that's where Barry went!

BROCK: That's the same place, I'm sure of it!

ASH: Man, not again?

How many times are we going to a Gym with no Gym Leader?

PUPIL: Don't worry about it.

He'll be back in a few days and I'll be sure to let him know

that you're looking to have a battle with him...

BROCK, ASH, DAWN, PIKACHU, PIPLUP: [PAINED]

PUPIL: No falling asleep no falling asleep!

ASH: What was... that?

DAWN: It is what it is...

He's out of town and that's that!

DAWN: It's times like this

when the best thing to do is take your mind off of things,

so how about some shopping?

BROCK: Hey, that's weird...

DAWN: What's weird, Brock?

BROCK: The guidebook says this is the island's

busiest shopping district but look around!

DAWN: Wow, it's deserted!

BROCK: Look, a police station!

BROCK: Officer Jenny will know the perfect place to shop!

And I can't wait to go ask her where!

BROCK: Jenny? Jenny?

BROCK: Jenny, oh, Jenny... ?

BROCK: Hi there, Jenny!

BROCK: Got you! I trust you're all right now?

JENNY: Has there been an incident?

BROCK: No, not exactly!

JENNY: That's good! Then good night, sweet dreams...

BROCK: But... Jenny, you've got to tell us what's going on around here!

JENNY: The thing is, for some reason

over the past couple of days

every single person on this island

has been having nightmares!

ASH, DAWN, BROCK: What?

DAWN: So you must be having them too!

JENNY: Right. Everyone's gone to other islands,

and that's why this one is so deserted!

ASH: You have any idea why this's happening?

JENNY: Yes! The truth is, we have a Darkrai in our midst!

ASH, DAWN, BROCK: What? Darkrai?

JENNY: Yes!

JENNY: Every year at this time

a Darkrai pays a visit to our island,

bringing nightmares along with it for everybody!

-DAWN: Every year? -JENNY: Right!

However, a Cresselia that lives nearby on Fullmoon Island

shows up at the same time,

warding off Darkrai's nightmarish dreams

with its mystical powers!

JENNY: But for some reason Darkrai decided to show up early this year,

and so far since there's been no sign of the Cresselia

everybody's been having nothing but nightmares!

And of course it's obvious that

nobody's been able to get any sleep!

JENNY: In desperation I got a Lunar Wing

to protect myself from bad dreams!

But I'm afraid it hasn't been working all that well...

BROCK: I've heard of those! They're actually Cresselia feathers!

JENNY: As you can see they're very pretty,

but the nightmares just go on and on!

DAWN: See? I've got a Lunar Wing Pendant

that I've been wearing for a while...

ASH: But, what I want to know is

why isn't Jenny's Lunar Wing working?

BROCK: Do you mind if I have a quick look at that?

JENNY: No, not at all!

BROCK: Thank you! Let's see...

BROCK: Jenny, this looks like

nothing more than a Pidgey feather

that's been painted with lacquer!

This thing is a forgery, a fake Lunar Wing!

JENNY: No way! I paid good money for that!

Nobody tricks me... Nobody!

JENNY: It's arresting time!

ASH, DAWN, BROCK, PIPLUP, PIKACHU: [SHOCKED]

-ASH: Let's follow her, okay? -DAWN, BROCK: Okay!

ASH, DAWN, BROCK, PIPLUP, PIKACHU: [AGREEING]

MEOWTH: Are you in luck!

This the very last Lunar Wing we've got in stock!

JESSIE: Hold on! Don't worry we'll make more!

They'll be up in a jif!

CUSTOMER A: What? Make more?

JESSIE: Hush my mouth!

Of course the thing I meant to say is we'll find some more!

MEOWTH: Now it's time to close up shop!

JESSIE: Whoa. That was a close call! We're lucky!

MEOWTH: We wouldn't need luck if you'd shut your yap!

WOBBUFFET: [AGREEING]

JENNY: Over there!

ASH: Something is not right, that's for sure!

JESSIE: Our Nightmare Maker has exceeded

my nightmarish expectations!

A pleasant but sleepy surprise...

JAMES: While everyone puts the blame squarely on

Darkrai's shoulders the masses are going loony

for our phony Lunar Wings!

JESSIE: The only problem being

our Nightmare Maker works so well

we've been having nightmares too!

MEOWTH: All the better for pulling tons of all-nighters,

and making Lunar Wings!

MEOWTH: You take a Pidgey feather and bend it...

MEOWTH: ... lacquer it up to make it nice and shiny...

MEOWTH: ... and you end up with a beautiful green

money-making machine!

JENNY: So that's how you did it!

JENNY: I heard every word!

MEOWTH, JESSIE, JAMES: Snoop!

JENNY: I'm placing you under arrest!

JESSIE: Is that arrested development I hear?

JAMES: Her inner rage rings loud and clear!

-JESSIE: On the wind! -JAMES: Past the stars!

MEOWTH: In your ear!

JESSIE: Laying down the law at a breakneck pace!

JAMES: Dashing due process, putting fear in its place!

JESSIE: A Jenny by any other name is just as bad!

JAMES: In the name of our law, it looks like you've been had!

JESSIE: Putting law abiders in their place!

JENNY: The jig is up!

BROCK: Your scheme to make everyone have nightmares

so you could dupe them into buying fake Lunar Wings is through!

DAWN: Why don't they ever learn?

JESSIE: Why do you Twerps manage to show up

and turn our dreams of fame and fortune into real nightmares?

JAMES: We've pulled more all-nighters

in order to build this baby than you've been alive!

MEOWTH: Then when were done,

the worst nightmare turns out to be you!

ASH: Why don't you save your whining for jail!

from one horrendous nightmare to another...

JESSIE: If we can't sleep

the least they could do is give us more airtime...

MEOWTH, JESSIE, JAMES: We're blasting off too soon!

ASH: Wow, to think all those nightmares were Team Rocket's

doing all along...

DAWN: I guess that also means no Cresselia!

JENNY: At least people will finally be able to

get some sleep again!

Can't wait to finally have some good dreams...

BROCK: Why wait?

BROCK: Look... the dream you dream at night can also come true during the day

if you'll only agree to take my hand...

CROAGUNK: [CROAKING]

BROCK: Then I'll give back Croagunk's!

JENNY: Oh dear...

ASH, DAWN, PIPLUP, PIKACHU: [SHEEPISH]

I'll tell you, Jenny, you are one amazing chef!

JENNY: Well, since you solved the case of the phony store and the nightmares,

it's the least I could do! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

ASH: Oh man! I'm stuffed!

DAWN: I don't know why but I'm real tired...

BROCK: Wouldn't it be nice if we could rest here a bit?

JENNY: Please do! I've got a comfortable room in the back,

and you're welcome to make yourselves right at home!

ASH: That's great! Thank you!

PIKACHU: [PLEASED]

ASH: Hold on, where am I?

PIKACHU: [SCARED]

DAWN: All of a sudden I found myself in total darkness

and there was a creepy Pokémon standing there with me!

-ASH: That was my dream! -JENNY: And mine!

BROCK: Me too!

JENNY: I don't understand what it could be

since we destroyed that awful Nightmare machine...

ASH: Hey, you don't think Darkrai showed up do you?

BROCK: If it did, we've got to find Cresselia and fast!

DAWN: How do we do it?

JENNY: Let's go to Fullmoon Island and check it out!

JENNY: Fullmoon Island dead ahead!

ASH: Fullmoon Island... where the Cresselia appears!

PIKACHU: [AMAZED]

JAMES: Twerps in toto headed for Fullmoon Island full bore!

MEOWTH: The rumor on the street is that

rare Pokémon Cresselia makes regular appearances there!

JESSIE: Which means,

if we make an appearance there as well

we'll be catching Cresselia and Pikachu too!

JAMES: Ooh! Of course a two-pronged present for the Boss can't hurt!

MEOWTH: No way! It'll feel great!

JESSIE, JAMES, MEOWTH: Happy! And peppy! And wealthy!

That's rich! Us with money now that's a switch!

WOBBUFFET: [AFFIRMATIVE]

BROCK: Looks like the whole island is surrounded by cliffs...

ASH: So how are we supposed to get up over them all?

JENNY: That's how! Everybody take a look up ahead!

ASH: A cave!

BROCK: We'll make our way through there!

DAWN: Wow! Would you look at that!

PIPLUP: [AMAZED]

JENNY: The entrance to the island is up ahead!

ASH: Great! Now... I'm going in!

PIKACHU: [DETERMINED]

JENNY: When it comes time for Darkrai's visit,

it's said the Cresselia will perch itself

on a little shrine on top of the cliffs!

JENNY, ASH, PIKACHU: [CURIOUS]

ASH: Look at that!

ASH: I think it's a Lunar Wing!

BROCK: Huh! Now...

BROCK: Yup! I'm sure this is the real item!

It seems to me that Cresselia must have dropped it here,

and not too far in the distant past either!

DAWN: That means that Cresselia must've already come to the island!

PIPLUP: [SNIFFING] / [CONFIDENT]

PIPLUP: [SNIFFING] / [EXCITED]

DAWN: Piplup's got the scent!

PIPLUP: [EXERTION]

DAWN: Piplup, over there?

PIPLUP: [CONFIDENT]

PSYDUCK: [CURIOUS] PIPLUP: [SHOCKED]

ASH: That's the wrong scent!

PIKACHU: [FRUSTRATED]

SWINUB: [APPEARING]

DAWN: When it comes to tracking scents, Swinub rules! Swinub?

I need you to use the scent of this Lunar Wing

to find Cresselia!

DAWN: Looks like it's hot on the trail!

ASH: So let's stay close behind!

JENNY: Sure is! We're standing in front of Cresselia's shrine!

BROCK: I can't believe it's Cresselia!

DAWN: What a beautiful Pokémon!

POKEDEX: Cresselia, The Lunar Pokémon.

Shiny particles are released from Cresselia's wings

like a veil, and it is said to represent the crescent moon.

JESSIE: If only planes could arrive

as promptly as Cresselia does!

JESSIE: Now, let's start things off by catching that timely beauty...

MEOWTH: Yes, ma'am! Look! I'm all thumbs!

CRESSELIA: [STRUGGLING]

ASH: Cresselia's trapped!

-JENNY: Oh no! -ASH: We've got to do something!

ASH, JENNY, BROCK, DAWN, PIKACHU, PIPLUP: [EXERTION]

POKEDEX: Piloswine. The Swine Pokémon,

and the evolved form of Swinub.

Piloswine's entire body is covered with fur,

which makes it hard to see,

so it uses its nose to sense its environment instead.

JAMES: So is this the real blast off,

or is it only a dream?

BROCK: It looks like that's exactly where it's headed!

POKEDEX: Darkrai. The Pitch-Black Pokémon.

Legend has it that on a moonless night,

Darkrai will lure people to sleep

and unleash nightmares upon them.

ASH: Of course! Then it was Darkrai after all!

JENNY: Right! But why did it show up now?

DARKRAI: [GROWL]

JENNY: Look at that!

JENNY: It's what's left over of Team Rocket's Nightmare Machine!

BROCK: It's all starting to make sense!

BROCK: Darkrai's here now at such an unusual time because

the electromagnetic waves from the Nightmare Machine

must have lured it here!

JENNY: I still don't believe it...

DAWN: But that doesn't really explain why Cresselia's here...

CRESSELIA: [CHALLENGING]

ASH: Only one reason I can think of:

Cresselia must've sensed that the island was in danger!

DARKRAI, CRESSELIA: [BATTLING]

CRESSELIA: [ATTACKING]

DARKRAI: [GROWL]

JENNY: Cresselia, thanks so much!

CRESSELIA: [PLEASED]

DAWN: Wow, I wonder where Cresselia's heading to next!

JENNY: Yeah, me too!

Probably somewhere we've never even heard of!

CRESSELIA: [CALLING]

BROCK: Thanks to Cresselia

everyone will be able to get a good night's sleep!

NARRATOR: The mysteries of the Pokémon world

are best witnessed first-hand,

and again our Heroes have done just that!

True, training may start tomorrow,

but for tonight Ash and his friends will sleep soundly!

ASH: Get ready! Because tomorrow Canalave Gym Battle training starts!
