Hi there!
It is so good to see you!

And you are just in time!

Big things are happening today.

Come on in.

Hmm?

Wait a minute.

[sniffing]

What's that smell?

It smells like... [sniffing]

waffles!

[sniffing]

Hmm?

[sniffing]...

[gasps] It's you!

[sniffing] Ooo.

Tell me, were just eating
waffles with maple syrup.

'Cause you smell all
sweet and waffley!

[sniffing] Ahh!

Or maybe you smell
this good all the time?

[chuckles]

Well, I was just about to do
something in the kitchen,

and I want you
to see what it is.

Come on!

Every year the bees give
me a nice batch of honey.

Then I bottle it and share
it with all my friends

here in Woodland Valley.

I'm kind of the local honey guy.

[chuckles] [sigh] Ah.

I love these little bottles.

Let's see how many we have.

There's one,

two,

three,

four,

five,

six,

seven,

eight,

nine,

ten.

Ten empty little honey bottles.

Ten.

[chuckles]

There's nothing worse than
an empty bottle of honey,

so I better start
filling them up.

[flapping lips]

Mm-mmm. This is a really
good batch this year.

-[telephone ringing]
-Huh?

The telephone?

I wonder who that could be?

Hello? Bear in the Big
Blue House, Bear speaking.

Hi! Hi, Bear!

-It's Otto.
-Oh, hi, Otto!

It's Pip and Pop's grandfather!

-How are you doing?
-Why, fine, Bear.

But I do have a favor
to ask you though.

Hmm?

You see, Pip and Pop's
little cousin, Tally Otter,

why she's staying
with Etta and I.

-Tally?
-Mmm.

I've never met her.

Well, Bear, then perhaps
today is your lucky day.

[chuckles]

Um, what do you mean, Otto?

Well,
Bear, Etta and I have a couple

of quick errands to run
down by the river,

-so we were wondering...
-Oh, I see.

Say no more. It would be
my pleasure to look after Tally

-while you're out!
-Oh now, Bear.

You're sure I'm not
putting you on the spot?

Oh no. Not at all.

Pip and Pop would love

to have their cousin
come over for a visit.

You just bring her on over.

All righty then.

We'll be right over.
See you shortly.

-[chuckles]
-Okay.

Wow. This is exciting!

Pip and Pop's cousin
is coming over.

They are really
going to be happy.

Pip! Pop!

-Bear!
-Ah!

-Ahh!
-Ahhh!

[chuckles]

-There you guys are.
-Yeah.

Hey, um, I have a little
surprise for you two.

-A surprise?
-A surprise!

Woo. What is it?!

Your cousin Tally
is coming over.

[gasps] Tally?

Tally Otter?

[shouting] Yeaaaaah! Woo-hooo!
All right!

Whoa. Wh-wh-whoa.

I knew you guys would
be happy, but, uh, this is, uh,

I guess Tally must be,
um, terrific.

-Ooh.
-Terrific?

Oh, tsk, tsk.

-That hardly covers it, Bear.
-Yeah, she's

she' s better than terrific!

She's better than better
than terrific!

I'll say.

Wow!
That's, um, pretty terrific.

-[chuckles]
-What's so special about Tally?

Oh Bear.

Tally can dig clams and play
ball better than any Otter ever!

Uh-huh. And she's really
good at making mud pies, too.

Oh, true. The perfect
dirt to liquid ratio.

-Yeah.
-[gasps] Oh.

[whispering] She even goes
to school now and everything...

-Yeah. Bear
-Wow. Tally's so cool.

Yeah.

[sigh] She's...

Just...

Tally!

-♪ Tally-Tally-Tall-y! ♪
-[chuckles]

-♪ Tally-Tally-Tall-y! ♪
-Okay, okay.

-I get it, I get it.
-♪ Tally-Tally-Tall-y! ♪

-[doorbell rings]
-[gasps]

The great one has arrived.

-Oh.
-[chuckles]

That must be Otto and Tally.

Let's, um, go.

Oh. Hi, Otto! How are you?

Why, just fine, Bear. Just fine.

Ahh,
this must be the famous Tally?

-Yeah, yeah.
-Mm-hmm.

Hey! What's the--?

Huh?

You know -the information.

Oh. [chuckles]

Oh. Well for starters, I'm Bear

and it's a pleasure
to meet you, Tally.

Aw. It's nice to meet you,
too, Bear.

Hey. What's buzzin', cousins?

[mumbling] Hey, uh, Tally.

Uh, how you 'be? Heh-heh.

Well, I guess
I'd better get a move on.

Etta'll have my pelt
if I dawdle any longer.

[laughter]

Aw, now
you youngins be good now.

Okay.

Bye, Grandpa Otto!

-Come on in, Tally.
-I'll walk you out, Otto.

Oh, why, thank you, Bear.

[chattering]

-So uh... Tally?
-What, what, what?

-Yeah.
-What's it gonna be today?

-Clam diggin'?
-No, no. I know!

-Oh. No, no.
-Tree climbing!

Or maybe potato sack races!

Well, actually cousins,
I have something new in mind.

Something new?

-Oooh!
-Yeah!

-Yeah, yeah. I do...
-Like what?

-Something like this!
-Yeah. [gasps]

One, two, three!

Three Otters!

Great, huh?

Oh. And, uh...

Oooh! And this!

One, two, three-three umbrellas!

Ta-Da!

-Uh.
-Um, yeah.

-But, um...
-What, what?

-Tally?
-What, what, what?

-That's great and everything...
-Yeah, yeah.

But, um...

What are you doing?

Ah, I'm counting stuff.

It's all the rage at school.

-School?
-Yeah.

-Counting?
-Yes.

But but, but what about...
What about ball?

Yeah, or tree climbing?

Remember when
we climbed that tree...

Guys, I mean, that stuffs okay.

But I like numbers now.

[gasps] Numbers?

Not numbers!

Oh.
Yeah. What's wrong with numbers?

-Come on! They're great!
-Yeah, guys. Numbers can be fun.

There's got to be
stuff to count in here!

Come on, you guys.

Okay, okay, we-we're coming.

Numbers...

[unenthused] Yay.

Hm.

Wow.

It seems Tally likes
to count and maybe, in time,

Pip and Pop will find that
numbers can be fun, too.

Yeah.

Numbers.

Numbers!

We use them all the time.
Mm-hmm.

Numbers help us keep track
of things by counting them.

For example, you count
how many toys you have...

One, two-two toys.

Two toys.

And the number on y, our house
tells you where you live.

And you are-a certain
number of inches tall...

And the number of candles
on your birthday cake,

tell how old you are.

Are you two years old?

Or three? Four?

Five years old?

[chuckles] Or are you older?

See your age is an important
number to know, too.

Yup. Numbers.

They are everywhere!

♪ I wake in the morning ♪

♪ At six--four ♪

♪ Put two feet on my rug ♪

♪ Take three steps to my door ♪

♪ I brush thirty-two teeth ♪

♪ Scrub one tired face ♪

♪ Then go down thirteen stairs ♪

♪ To sniff ten flowers
in one vase ♪

♪ Bumpin' into numbers ♪

♪ As I go through my day ♪

♪ Yeah-yeah ♪

♪ I say one, two, three, four ♪

♪ Let me count the ways ♪

♪ Then it's five hops
to the kitchen ♪

♪ To make one cup of tea ♪

♪ I put in two lumps of sugar ♪

♪ Or occasionally three ♪

♪ I eat one bowl of oatmeal ♪

♪ And have two pieces of toast ♪

♪ But the honey
I pour over it all ♪

♪ Is the one thing I love most ♪

♪ Bumpin' into numbers ♪

♪ As I go through my day ♪

♪ Yeah-yeah ♪

♪ I say one, two, three, four ♪

♪ Let me count the ways ♪

♪ Oh yeah! ♪

♪ When breakfast's done ♪

♪ I'll play three games
of checkers with one mouse ♪

♪ And then two
games of baseball ♪

♪ Outside one big blue house ♪

♪ And after that I've got ♪

♪ A hundred and fifty-three
chores to do ♪

♪ Then I'll make a five
course dinner for six ♪

♪ Before my day is through ♪

♪ Ohhhh! ♪

♪ And finally when
it's time for bed ♪

♪ If I can't get to sleep ♪

♪ I'll lay there in the dark ♪

♪ And maybe count
a dozen sheep ♪

♪ And if that doesn't work ♪

♪ Then I'll just count
a dozen more ♪

♪ It's hard to sleep
with twenty- four sheep ♪

♪ Running around your floor ♪

♪ Bumpin' into numbers ♪

♪ Travelin' through my day ♪

♪ Yeah-yeah ♪

♪ I say one, two, three, four ♪

♪ Let me ♪

♪ You know those numbers
they get me ♪

♪ I say one two three four ♪

♪ Let me count the ways ♪

♪ Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! ♪

And you can count on that.

Heh-heh, heh-heh.

[chuckles]

Speaking of numbers,

I have filled some of the honey
bottles with honey.

Do you want to count how
many I've filled so far?

Good!

See.

I have filled up one,

two,

three-three bottles.

Three honey bottles
filled with honey.

And now.

I think I will fill
up a few more...

TUTTER: Oh, Bear!

Bear!

[grunt] Ah, phew.

Oh. Hey, Tutter what's up?

Hi, Bear. What...

Sorry to interrupt your little,
um...

Bear meeting.

Er, ah, but I-I've got a big
problem over in my mousehole.

Really?

Yeah, you see that hunk
of cheese over there.

-Yeah.
-It just won't go in.

-[grunt] Hmmm.
-Oh.

well, that is a problem, Tutter.

Yeah! I tried pushing
it in and shoving it in

and it just won't
go in my mouse hole.

Well, have you tried
measuring it, Tutter?

Measuring!

I don't have time for measuring,
Bear.

I-I've got a big old hunk
of cheese to move here!

Tutter, if you measure it first,

that's how you'll
find out how big it is.

Mmm?

Let's use my handy-dandy
Bearcraft tape measure.

Ooo, fancy, Bear.

[chuckles] Look at-

Hey, hey,
what are all these numbers for?

--One, two, three, four...
Oh.

-Those numbers?
-Yeah.

Those numbers mean an inch.

You count up the inches and that
tells you how big something is.

Ooh. I'm with you, Bear.

Let's measure my doorway.

One, two, three,

four, five, six,

seven, eight-eight inches!

Now let's measure the cheese.

Hmm. And the cheese is one, two,

three, four, five, six, seven,

eight, nine -nine inches wide.

Hey!

Hey, the cheese, the cheese
is more inches than the door.

No wonder it wouldn't fit, Bear!

[chuckles] It's too many inches!

[chuckles] It's too wide!

Good measuring, Tutter.

[chuckles] Yeah, thanks, B...

Oh. This is bad, Bear, very bad!

Well, Tutter,
I mean, I don't know, but

there
must be some way that a mouse,

such as yourself,

could make a nice big piece
of cheese smaller...

[flapping lips]

[gasps]

Oh, yeah, Bear!

I'm with you again.

[chuckles]

-I think if Tutter just...
-Stand back, Bear.

I've got some seriously
delicious work to do.

[chuckles]

[munching]

[chuckles] Okay, Tutter. Enjoy.

I will.

One lamp, two lamps.

-Whee.
-...three lamps...

[bored] Oh.

Four lamps in the living room!

-[bored] Ah-ha. Yeah.
-Come on, guys!

[unenthused] Oh yeah four lamps.

Great!

Guys, what's the matter?

-Aren't you having fun?
-Oh, well...

Aw, come on.
Don't you like counting?

-Oo, oo, oo.
-Yeah, Tally well

...no offense Tally but, um...

Oh yeah, I mean, we-we wouldn't
want to offend the great one

Oh no but...

What's so great about numbers?

[gasps]

What's so great about numbers?

Ah. They're everywhere!

And you use them all the time!

That's what's so
great about them!

Numbers are fun!

It's true, guys!

[unsure] Really?

Um, we don't know...

Oh, absolutely, cousins!

Listen up for a minute,
and I'll show you!

♪ Sometimes I look around ♪

♪ And I feel oh, so fine ♪

♪ Just countin' all this stuff ♪

♪ With all these
friends of mine ♪

♪ What, like the couch? ♪

♪ A swing three otters ♪

♪ And a bear who's really tall ♪

♪ So I guess we'd better
get started ♪

[sigh]

Well, this has been...

TUTTER: Oh. No, no, no.

That cheddar's much too big,
too!

Much too big!
[chuckles, munches]

Did you hear that?
Sounds like it's...

-Whoa boy.
-...coming from

-...the cheese drawer.
-I'd offer you honey Bear

some cheese but I-I can
see that you're already full.

[laughter]

All ready full!

Oh that's rich!

Oh boy. [chuckles] [burp]

Oh, excuse me.

[chuckles]

Uh, Tutter?

Oh, uh, hello, Bear. [chuckles]

Um, Tutter...
What are you doing?

Oh, nothing much.

You see, once you showed me how
to measure things,

I started measuring
the rest of my cheese.

Heh.
Woo. You'd be surprised, Bear.

A lot of it is too big.

Too big!

[laughter] [burp]

Oh, excuse me again.

[chuckles] Whoa boy.

I see.

Yeah. So I-I was
just doing a little er, ah

cheese shortening.

[chuckles] [munching]

Okay, Tutter. Well,
I'll let you get back to your

-work.
-Ah! Thank you, Bear!

-[chuckles]
-Good night.

All righty, then.

[munching]

Well, as I was saying,
this has been some day.

Why don't we go up
and tell Luna all about it.

Come on.

Ahh!

There she is!

Hey, Luna.

Hello, Bear.

And how were things
in the Big Blue House, today?

Oh.
We had a special visitor -Tally!

Pip and Pop's cousin.

Well, that's exciting.

Oh, it was.

Tally loves numbers

and she got Pip and Pop
into a game of

Number Hunters

and by the end of the day
everyone was counting to ten!

[chuckles] Oh. And Tutter?

What was he up to?

He was busy measuring things

to see if they
fit into his mouse hole.

Mmm.

-And what about you Bear?
-Mmm?

Well,
I know you love to count, too!

Me?

Oh! Well,
I was counting honey bears!

Mmm.

One, two, three, four...

Five,
six, seven, eight, nine, ten!

[laughter]

Oh, Bear, do you know what
I like best about numbers?

Ooo. Tell me Luna!

Well, they never ever end.

There are more numbers

than blades of grass
in the whole world,

or stars in the sky.

Numbers go on forever
to infinity and beyond!

-[chuckles]
-Wow.

That's a lot of numbers, Luna.

Say, Luna, how about singing
a musical number with me?

The "Goodbye Song?"

Yup.

[giggling] I'd love to Bear.
