Well, I'm very glad you're taking turns,

and... Whoa, hang on.

Huh? You must be seeing things, Sissy.

There aren't any elephants around here.

Elephants are great, big, with huge feet,

and flapping ears, and they make a big sound like...

( imitates elephant trumpeting )

Wow. Wow. Wow.

( laughing )

That's what an elephant sounds like,

and they use their long noses to make the sound.

Only they're not called noses on elephants,

they're called trunks. Right.

Oh, that was a tee-rrific elephant sound you made!

You sure fooled me. Oh!

I'm playing hide and seek

with an elephant right now.

They let us see the world around us

in all its beautiful colors.

And we can also see shapes. Oh,

And our eyes also let us see how things move.

Like our friends.

BARNEYBut sometimes,

our eyes need some help seeing things.

I hear it, too!

And now I see it, it's a bird.

I see what color it is and what shape it is.

And it's moving.

I see the birdie.

and there wasn't a single elephant in the park.

That's a wonderfully rinkety-tinkety,

rankety-tankety sound.

BOTHRinkety-rankety kinda sound.

The park is full of sounds today.

When we use our ears, we can hear lots of things,

like the sounds made by birds and animals.

♪ Over in the meadow, in the sand, in the sun ♪

♪ Lived an old mother frog ♪

♪ And her little froggie one ♪

♪ "Croak," said the mother ♪

♪ "I croak," said the one ♪

♪ So they croaked and they croaked ♪

♪ In the sand, in the sun. ♪

Hello, little froggies.

♪ Over in the meadow, in the stream so blue ♪

♪ Lived an old mother fish and her little fishies two ♪

♪ "Swim," said the mother ♪

♪ "We swim," said the two ♪

♪ So they swam and they swam in the stream so blue ♪

BARNEYOh, look at them.

♪ Over in the meadow, in the shade of a tree ♪

♪ Lived an old mother duck ♪

♪ And her little duckies three ♪

♪ "Quack," said the mother ♪

You see? You can hear lots of relaxing sounds in the park.

And making some sounds of our own.

I like loud sounds best of all!

I like quiet sounds,

like stepping on crispy, crunchy leaves.

That's a nice sound, too.

But I still like loud stuff best!

Well, different people

like different things,

but when you think about it,

both kinds of sounds can be very nice.

You see? Both kinds of sounds are just as nice.

Yeah, well, one thing's for sure--

nobody likes great big loud sounds like I do.

Oh, I can make a big sound when I whistle.

( bell ringing )

( imitates siren )

Oh, that was a good sound,

and a very important one.

Do you know what it was?

It was a siren.

And it means help is on the way.

( siren wailing )

♪ The people shout "hooray" ♪

♪ The siren tells the cars and trucks to get out of the way ♪

♪ Look at all the flashing lights ♪

♪ And watch the water spray ♪

♪ F-I-R-E T-R-U-C-K ♪

♪ That spells fire truck ♪

♪ I love the fire truck with all its hoses and ladders ♪

♪ And firefighters off to save the day ♪

♪ Hooray ♪

♪ I love to watch them ride as they hang on to the side ♪

♪ Of the F-I-R-E T-R-U-C-K ♪

That spells fire truck.

♪ Here comes the fire truck ♪

♪ The people shout "hooray" ♪

♪ The siren tells the cars and trucks to get out of the way ♪

♪ Look at all the flashing lights ♪

♪ Here comes the fire truck, hooray, hooray, hooray. ♪

Okay, the siren was pretty good,

but I'll find something in here to make a bigger sound.

If you use your imagination,

I'm sure you'll come up with something.
