Michael everyone makes mistakes when

they're learning try again sometimes

things are hard to do at first but if

you keep trying it gets easier and much

practiced very hard to learn to play the

piano and now he's very good would you

of music I know it's true but do you

play one of my favorite kinds of music

we have one big record well let's play

I love music so do lie and there are so

many different kinds but they sure got

mixed up on the record Bonnie fixed up

that's right why don't we make some

music of Our Own

weren't we the best marching band you've

ever seen oh we sure were I was playing

My Cello was as easy as pretending to

play in that band I'll never be ready in

time for the concert oh sure you will

Michael someday you could even be part

of a big Orchestra what's an orchestra

it's a group of people playing music

with lots of different instruments and

you know music can tell a story I know

one that uses a different musical

instrument for each character is called

Emmett the elephant joins the band why

don't you help me tell it to Tasha okay

you two can work the puppets while

Barney plays the instruments

okay everybody's ready

once upon a time there was a baby

elephant named Emmett who lived in the

jungle Emmett was very sad he couldn't

make music every time he tried he'd just

make a loud noise out of his trunk

Emmett's friend Bernard the bird could

sing beautiful songs all day long

and Xena the zebra loved to tap her feet

to the music

and their friend Helen the hippopotamus

loved to make beautiful music too

one day Bernard said to Emmett come join

us and play music Emmett answered sadly

I can't play in your band I can only

make a loud noise out of my trunk

perfect cried Helen hippopotamus

no Justin we could all play together so

Emmett answered okay I'll try my best

was great you can play an airband

anytime so while the rest of the animals

love for Emmett to be in their band and

they all made beautiful music happily

ever after the end

thing about music is singing sometimes

my teacher lets us have singing

conversations in class what's a singing

conversation that's when you talk to

someone like we're doing now but you

what did you learn after school today I

learned some things about music and what

was the funniest thing you did

I uh played in a marching band

and Barney what did you like best today

playing the Papa Joe's music

oh see Tasha it's easy to have a singing

conversation sounds like Michael's

Barney after all my practice I think I'm

never ends here's what we did today

isn't music wonderful you can enjoy it

in so many ways you can sing songs or

play your favorite instrument or you can

even start your own marching band with

friends

it's fun to learn about different

musical instruments and the sounds they

make

and dance to different kinds of music

too

music can even help us enjoy stories

more

playing a musical instrument takes hard

work and practice

but it's a great feeling when you

finally learn a new song
