Hoobs down to Earth

you play this game.

- Right it's my turn.

- Wait a minute!

- Oh Hooble do, Tula.

Now where were we Groove.

- No, no stop. There's

something I need to say.

- Oh sorry, we were

just enjoying the game.

We didn't notice you.

A...a any way it's time

we thought up a question

for Hoob News.

- You never notice me

when you're playing

Hooby run and yell.

- Oh there must be a

way of getting noticed

when we're playing.

- Yes, what does Tula

need to do to get noticed

during a game of Hooby

run and yell. Oh.

(Warbling sounds)

- What does Tula need

to do to get noticed

during a game of

Hooby run and yell?

Another excellent

- And the sooner we find

the answer the better.

- Oh yes, it's just

the sort of thing

that Hoobs everywhere

will want to know.

Perfect for my Hoobapedia.

I'll get it straight

there's a peep waving.

There's another peep waving.

There's a peep standing on

something very high waving.

Oh those red gloves waving

would get you noticed.

Hooble do.

They're waving as well.

Now there's a red

dress and a wave

now that would get you noticed

So would those shorts.

Hooble do again.

(peppy music)

It must be waving

that gets you noticed.

Oh those light stick things

would definitely

get you noticed.

(warble sound)

- Hooby. Galooby.

I'd love to have a go with

those light stick things.

Maybe we can find

some and try them out.

- But where?

- Here's where?

How Hooby groovy are these?

I thought I'd make

you some Tula.

- Oh, Groove.

How did you do that?

- Well two tall Hooby cups,

two Hooby torches

and lots of Hooby tape.

- Groove you are a

Hooberly Groobely Hoob.

- Oh I have my moments.

- Right. Let's try them out.

You play Hooby run and yell

and I'll wave these about

to see if you notice me.

- Are you ready Groove?

It's your turn to run.

- Oh okay.

(laughing)

- Right. Ready. Steady. Go.

- Go Groove. Go

Groove. That's it.

Move, move, move. You can do it.

(playful music)

oh yo yo yo yo yo

- Hey, hey, hey.

Couldn't you see me waving?

(sighs)

- No, sorry Tula.

- Yeah, sorry. It's

just that you know

when you're really in

the zone of the game

you can't always be watching out

for flapping lights.

- No well. This doesn't work.

There must be something

that I can do to

make you notice me.

[Hubba Hubba] Hubba Hubba

(warbling sounds)

- Absolutely Tula.

There are sure to be

some other ways of getting

someone to notice you.

Now I found this story

that's been sent in

by a Tiddlypeep. Why don't

you have a look at it?

(drumming music)

- [Boy Narrator] Long ago,

there was a big brass

bell called Dingdong.

He belonged to the town crier,

who waved him back

and forth as he walked

up and down the streets.

Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling

sang Dingdong.

- Oi yeah. Oi yeah.

- [Boy Narrator] The

town crier would cry.

When people heard

Dingdong, they would

come out of their houses

and gather 'round

the town crier,

who would tell them

all the latest news.

One day, the nestled clapper

that swung about

inside Dingdong broke,

he couldn't make the sound.

- I'll just have to do

the crying on my own.

I've got a good loud

voice. It'll be easy.

- Oh no.

- [Boy Narrator]

Thought Dingdong.

- The town crier

doesn't need me anymore.

- [Boy Narrator]

The town crier went

up and down the

streets shouting,

- Oi yeah.

Oi yeah.

- [Boy Narrator] In

his loudest, voice.

But nobody came out

of their houses.

He cried again.

- Oi yeah.

Oi yeah.

- [Boy Narrator] But still

no one paid any attention.

Soon he had a sore throat.

- I need Dingdong.

- [Boy Narrator] He croaked.

So the next morning

the town crier

repaired Dingdong's clapper

and polished him

'til he sparkled.

- Ding-a-ling.

Ding-a-ling.

- [Boy Narrator]

Dingdong felt very happy.

All the people came

out of their houses

to listen to the

town crier's news.

So if you ever a

town crier calling

- Oi yeah.

Oi yeah.

[Boy Narrator] Listen

out for Dingdong singing

- Ding-a-ling.

Ding-a-ling.

- Well there you go, Tula.

- I need something

that makes a noise,

if I'm going to get noticed.

- Hmm.

How about this?

- It's a Hoobie cup, Iver?

A completely silent Hoobie cup.

- Ha ha. What if I

turn it upside down?

[Together] Yes.

- It's the same shape as a bell.

[Together] Yes.

- And if I use this,

to jiggle around inside

- Oh

it goes ding-a-ling.

- Just like Dingdong

in the story.

- It's it's the

clapper thing hitting

the side of the bell

that makes the ding-a-ling.

Oh let me try. Let me try.

- Okay. Ready for

Hoobie run and yell?

- Oh yes.

- Go

(playful music) (singing)

- Oh Oh yo yo yo yo

Oh oh yo yo yo yo

oh oh yo yo yo yo

oh oh yo yo yo

- Are you doing it?

- Yes. Look. (ringing sounds)

- Come on Iver go on.

- No, no, No Grove.

Stop it now. Stop. Stop

Stop it now. You'll

have to stop.

- Sorry.

- Tula we couldn't hear a thing.

- I know. I could shout

louder than this ding-a-ling.

- Do you know what we

need? A bigger bell.

There must be a way of

making a bigger bell.

- But how?

♪ How, how, how, ♪

♪ How, ♪

♪ how, ♪

♪ How ♪

- Here's how? I

remembered this old bucket

in my collection of things

that have got a hole in them.

And what I've done is,

I've got a big Hoobie

spoon and dangled it

from the hole with Hoobie tape.

- Then that could be like

the clapper inside Dingdong.

- Exactly. Listen.

(loud ringing)

- Groove I've said it before

and I'll say it again,

you are a Hoobely Groovely Hoob.

- Awe it's just a bucket

Tula. Now you give it a try.

- Ready.

Steady.

Go

(playful music)

(Iver singing)

Come on Groove. That's it.

Oh oh yo yo yo yo yo

- Tula you never rang the bell.

- Well it's no good Groove.

I just can't lift it.

And if I can't lift

it, I can't ring it.

And if I can't ring it,

you won't notice me.

- Oh dear and we just have

to answer the question

in time for Hoob News.

[Hubba Hubba] Hubba Hubba

Don't despair Hoobs.

How about a visit

to some Tiddlypeeps?

I'm sure they'll

know of some things

that make a noise

that'll get Tula noticed.

- Hoobacious idea, Hubba Hubba.

- Oh ho. Oh thank you, Iver.

- Come on Tula.

(melancholy music)

(ringing noises)

- Ah hah. I guess I'm

just a very strong Hoob.

- Seat belts.

[Together] We're off

to see the Tiddlypeeps.

(whimsical chime)

(trumpetting)

♪ Yee haw (whimsical music) ♪

♪ We're off to see

the Tiddlypeeps ♪

♪ On the road we go ♪

the Tiddlypeeps ♪

♪ They're smart ♪

♪ They're fun ♪

- Hello, Tiddlypeeps.

[Together] It's Tula.

- Would you like to

do a Hoobie hello?

[Together] Yes!

Hooble do, hooble

do, whoo, whoo, whoo.

- I am so pleased

to see you all.

Now Groove and Iver have

this really noisy game

called Hoobie run and yell.

We're trying to find a way

of getting them to notice me

while they're playing it.

So I'm looking for something

that makes a good noise.

- I know something Tula.

- You do?

Oh I just knew you would.

- You could whistle like this

(whistling)

- That is Hoobely

Groobely.

Can anyone else do it?

(whistling)

[Tula] Oh

(whistling)

- Oh I must try.

(raspberry sounds)

(Groove and Iver laughing)

(children laughing)

- I can't do it. Oh.

- There's another

way of doing it Tula.

Like this

(whistling)

- Oh

(raspberry sounds)

Can't do that either. Oh.

- Come over here Tula.

Don't worry Tula. All you

need to do is practice.

- Really?

- Yes.

Oh. Thank you so much.

Thank you Tiddlypeeps.

I'll get right back

to the Hoobmobile

and start practicing

my whistling.

Hooble tooble day.

♪ Hooble tooble do. ♪

(playful music)

- Can you do it? Can you do it?

(Iver and Groove whistling)

You can.

- It's Hoobacious.

- Well would be

if I could do it.

I'm the one who

wants to get noticed.

And I don't seem to

be (raspberry sounds)

able to (raspberry

sounds) get it right. Oh.

- Da don't worry Tula.

That wasn't the only way

the Tiddlypeeps whistled.

(whistling)

[Hubba Hubba] Hubba

Hubba (warbling sounds)

- Where you whistling

Hubba Hubba?

- It certainly was

Iver. I just put

my Hooby paws in my mouth

and went (whistling).

(whistling)

- How Hooby Groovy is that?

(whistling)

- This whistling thing

is something else.

(deep breath)

(raspberry sounds)

- I can't do it. (crying)

I just can't do it.

(upbeat music)

♪ Oh how can I get

you to notice me ♪

♪ When you're playing

run and yell? ♪

♪ I've tried to shout but

you still dash about. ♪

♪ I'm not doing awfully well. ♪

♪ A ding-a-ling seemed

what was required ♪

♪ I tried to lift it

but I only got tired. ♪

♪ Now there's a new skill

which I haven't acquired. ♪

♪ Yes, whistling's the

thing not a bell. ♪

♪ (Whistling) ♪

♪ (Raspberry sounds) ♪

♪ Oh ♪

♪ But if only I could whistle ♪

♪ I know I would make you hear ♪

♪ No matter how

hard I try to blow ♪

♪ A whistle just

doesn't appear ♪

♪ (Whistling) ♪

♪ (Raspberry sounds) ♪

♪ Oh ♪

♪ You make a little

ooo with your mouth ♪

♪ And then you just then

blow right through it ♪

♪ Oh I'm the who

wants to get noticed ♪

♪ And I'm the one

who can't do it ♪

♪ Oh ♪

(whistling)

(sighing)

- I'm never going to find

a way of getting noticed.

Groove. Please stop.

- Oh cheer up Tula.

I've a feeling that a

report is going to come in

from Roma any second now.

And Roma is sure

to have an idea.

She's awfully good

at getting noticed.

[Roma] Roma Roma

- Oh here she comes now.

- I do hope Roma

will have an idea

or we won't have an

answer for Hoob News.

(whistling)

Groove please stop.

- Oh sorry.

(warbling sounds)

- Hooble doop Hoobs.

I'm in the countryside

with a load of sheep.

Baa. That was me

talking sheep. Ha.

Now the farmer has a

really splendid trick

of rounding up the sheep.

So that they go into their pen

whenever he wants them to.

- How does he do that Roma?

- Well

he does this trick using a dog

called a sheep dog and

a marvelous whistle.

This is one here.

It's called a dog

whistle because

you use it if you want

to be noticed by a dog.

The farmer blows

it. The dog hears it

and completely understands

what the farmer wants him to do.

[Together] Hooby Galooby

- So now I'm going

to test it out.

I've got my sheep.

I've got my whistle.

Now all I need is my dog.

Where are you boy?

Come here.

Good boy.

Oh oh oh.

(barking)

Oh down boy. Down.

This is Roma Hoob signing off

to whistle to a dog

about some sheep.

Hooble-toodle-do.

Oh come back here dog.

Come on good boy.

(warbling)

- Oh Hoobly Groobly.

(whistling)

- Ah I've ordered you

a dog whistle Tula.

A Hubba Hubba is sending

you one right away.

- Thank you Iver.

It's just the thing

to get me noticed.

- And we'll have

answered the question

for Hoob News ahead of time.

- (gasps) It's here.

The dog whistle is here.

- Groove. Groove

would you just mind

cutting out the whistling now.

- Oh okay.

(giddy music)

- It's here. Look

ha ha ha ha. Right

Let's see how it sounds.

[Together] Ah, ah ahem. Just um.

(barking)

- Did it work?

- No.

I think it must be blocked.

- Give it a shake.

That always clears

up a blockage for me.

- (sighs)

Right. Let's try again.

(barking)

- Oh what am I doing?

The dogs outside are barking.

Maybe they can hear it.

[Hubba Hubba] Hubba Hubba Hubba

(warbling)

- Tula you are absolutely right.

- You mean dogs can hear

sounds that we can't?

- That's right Groove.

The whistle makes a note that is

so Hoobaciously high that

only dogs can hear it.

- Well that's no good.

We need a Hoob whistle

that only Hoobs can hear.

- Well why don't you ask

some more Tiddlypeeps.

I'm sure they'll

know another way

of getting someone

to notice you.

- Yes. Come on Tula.

(flute music)

(barking)

- Well hey ha ha.

(chiming sound)

(trumpetting)

(playful music)

- Yes I need to talk

to the Tiddlypeeps

but I can't get

them to notice me.

- Don't worry I'll do it.

(whistle blows)

[Together] Oh yeah. Ha ha

[Children] It's Tula.

Hooble doop Tula.

- This whistle is

really Hoobacious.

Could you blow it again?

What's you're name?

- Perry

- Perry could you play

it again? Please. Please.

(whistle blows)

- Oh Hoob hoob hooray.

It's a whistle that Hoobs

and Tiddlypeeps can hear.

It's just what we've

been looking for.

When you blow it, it

makes a loud noise.

I don't suppose you've

got another one. Have you?

- I've got one.

- Oh thank you so much.

I'm sure to get noticed

when I blow this.

Must go now.

Hooble doodle do.

[Children] Hooble dooble do.

- Well hey hey I'm

sure this is it.

Get into your places.

[Together] Oh yes

Tula. Yes. Yes. Yes.

- Ready.

Steady.

Go

(playful music)

oh oh yo yo yo yo yo

(whistle blows)

- Oh ho ho ho. We heard you.

- Yes, we found it.

- And just in time

for Hoob News.

- Yeah come on.

(whimsical music)

♪ (whistling) ♪

♪ Whistle so we all can hear ♪

♪ (Whistling) ♪

♪ Purse your lips

then blow out ♪

♪ (Whistling) ♪

♪ Then you will

not have to shout ♪

in your mouth ♪

- So at last I have found a way

everywhere all about it.

(upbeat music)

you Hoobs out there

Welcome to Hoob News

The news show for

Hoobs everywhere

I'm Iver

I'm Tula

And I'm Groove

- And today we've been

asking the question

- What does Tula need

to do to get noticed

during a game of

Hooby run and yell?

[Iver] We discovered that

some peeps wave things

to make someone notice them.

Tula tried it out.

[Tula] But Iver and

Groove don't watch me

during a game of

Hooby run and yell.

So that didn't work.

[Groove] From the

story we found out

what we actually needed

to get Tula noticed

was a noise.

[Tula] So we tried a little bell

but it wasn't loud enough.

[Iver] So Groove made

a hoobacious big bell,

but it was just too heavy.

[Tula] Thanks to those

brilliant Tiddlypeeps

we found that

whistling can be loud

and is very light indeed.

[Groove] So we all

started whistling.

[Iver] Except for Tula.

Who couldn't do it.

[Groove] So Roma

told about whistles

that you can blow through

that get you noticed.

[Tula] But we got a dog whistle

that makes a note

that is so high

[All Together] Only

dogs can hear it.

[Tula] So off we went

to more Tiddlypeeps,

Who believe it or

not had a whistle

that had a really

good loud noise.

(whistle blows)

And as you can see

it got me noticed.

So there you go.

If Iver and Groove are

playing Hooby run and yell,

And I want them to notice me

All I have to do

is blow my whistle.

(whistle blows)

- [Hubba Hubba] And

it's thanks again

to Iver, Tula, Groove

and Roma for giving Hoobs

everywhere a little peep

into the world of Peeps.

And remember wherever you
