'March is here.'

- 'So?'

- 'So?'

- February is over.

- So?

So this family finally made it

through those seven days

in February when you girls

bring home those looneys

that drive me crazy.

Dad, you always exaggerate

with what happened

during February break.

Okay, everybody, you can finally

listen to noise on your stereo.

Oh, how interesting.

Noise is the new name

of my band.

- We cut a demo record.

- Oh, congratulations.

We all pitched in

for the recording session.

Now, we're gonna lobby

every radio station in town

until we get a disc jockey

to listen to our music.

After that, we're on our way.

I'm sure you'll all

want one of these.

Tommy, how are you gonna get

all the disc jockeys

to listen to you?

Are you kidding?

With my powers of persuasion

I'll have 'em

begging to hear it.

I'm telling you

for the last time.

Take your crummy records off

my desk and get out of here.

Oh, my goodness gracious!

Here let me help.

[groans]

Oh, my goodness.

I'm so sorry.

- It's okay.

- Are you sure I can't help?

No! No, no.

Well, now what are we gonna do?

The station was our last hope.

I don't know.

I just don't know.

Honey, I'm afraid

I'm tied up in a meeting

and we'll have

to have lunch tomorrow.

I must say, I was surprised

Pleasantly surprised.

Oh, he had a terrible

I was afraid she might not

have gotten it straight.

Well, I'm here, aren't I?

You think you'll listen

to the band's music?

- Of course, I'll listen.

- Thanks, Mr. Hall.

I really appreciate it.

I'm just happy to get her away

from that overgrown violin

and into something

more contemporary

more vital, more normal.

Sir?

'I mean, when my secretary

gave me the news'

I rushed right over.

I can't wait to help.

Well, exactly what message

did your secretary give you?

Well, about Henrietta singing

with a band, of course.

[cello music]

Henrietta in our band?

That's a good one, Bradford.

Yeah, I think

Henrietta found it

a little hard

to believe herself.

Well, what did he say

when you told him the truth?

- I didn't.

- 'Oh, you mean, she did?'

Well, she started to,

but I stopped her in time.

I told Mr. Hall,

we'd be thrilled

'to have her in our band.'

You know, it really

is true what they say

about mental illness

striking at any age.

Hey, look, we've got no choice.

This guy isn't gonna help us

unless his daughter

is in our band.

His daughter isn't

a recognized life form

known to this planet, Bradford.

Don't worry. I've got

everything figured out.

Look, we'll make her

a background vocal

and we'll give her, a, a do wah

every once in a while

and just keep her

mic down real low.

But where're we gonna put her?

She looks like

a poster child for the stupid.

I don't know,

in a dark part of the stage

behind a speaker

if we have to.

I don't know.

Look, do you want to spend the

rest of your life in a garage?

Hi, is Jeremy here?

- Upstairs, David.

- 'Oh, thanks.'

Uh, you know, Abby, the kids

are at such a nice age now.

- They're so mature.

- I know.

It's so nice that the girls grew

out of those crazy Februarys.

Some of those guys

were such morons.

I never had

Where are they?

Tommy's van probably

just broke down again.

I don't think so.

Henrietta's pickin' him up

and it's on her way.

Well, they're late.

Look, will you just calm down?

I'm sure they'll

be here any second.

[car engine rumbling]

See. You worry for nothing.

Oh, maybe this wasn't

such a good idea.

I'm so nervous, I--

Oh, no, no. Nonsense.

It's a great idea.

I just wish I'd have thought

of it instead of your father.

A female in the band

adds a whole new dimension.

It's perfect.

If you say so.

Maybe I better

just back this up.

No, no, no, no.

Just leave it right here

We're all from practice

with cars in the garage.

Oh.

Don't you just love

his use of light?

- Yes, sort of early Renoux.

- Quite right.
